Tetra: Hi! Alright! I'm back at it! I may have only written one story by myself (by the way, The Little Merdemon is completed for those of you who read it and did not read the last and final chappie!) but that is all going to change! Now, I will have two stories! Hehehe! Anywho this is only one chappie long so don't mess with me, I have my reasons.
Summary: A songfic about Tony's past...and his father!
Disclaimer: I don't own NCIS or Nickelback's TooBad. (sigh) I hardly own anything.
Warning: Sad and Violent! It's an angst.
Now! On with the one chappie story! Yay Me!
Too Bad
Tony flicked on the radio in his bedroom to drown out the sound of cars buzzing by his house. Four in the morning was never fun to him because he wasn't supposed to be at work for another three hours. He looked miserable until a song came on the radio that caught his attention:
Father's hands are lined with dirt
From long days in the field
And mother's hands are serving meals
In a cafe on Main Street
With mouths to feed
Just trying to keep clothing on our backs
And all I hear about is...
How it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad, it's stupid
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
Tony thought back to how his childhood related in some way to that song. He threw a glass frame at a wall when he remembered his father leaving him and his mother when he was twelve and how hard it was to pick up the pieces and move on.
You left without saying goodbye
Although I'm sure you tried
You call the house from time to time
To make sure we're alive
But you weren't there
Right when I needed you the most
And now I dream about it
And how it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad, it's stupid
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
It's so bad, it's too bad, it's stupid
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
Tony sat on his bed with his head in his hands as the memories flooded his thoughts. He remembered his father's reluctance to help, and that he never could remember what he did wrong. Tony always felt like he was the cause of his parents' seperation. Every detail he remembered fueled his rage enough that he threw an antique bowl into the screen of his television, causing both to break.
Father's hands are lined with guilt
For tearing us apart
Guess it turned out in the end
Just look at where we are
Made it out...we still got clothing on our backs
And now I scream about it
And how it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad, it's stupid
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
It's so bad, it's too bad, it's stupid
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
Tony caught himself crying about him and his mother's struggle to survive. They tried their hardest and somehow made it. And then he thought about what would happen if his father came back as he heard the song end.
Long time, let's walk, let's talk
