Narrator pow:
- All right. Let me set the record straight ahead. - Volt said with determined face as he and Velvet took their seats at one of coastal restaurants of Kua Kuana's trade zone. - From what I know, you came here for the cash prize from winning because your mother got sick and you couldn't find a stable job back at Vale, correct?
- Ymm... Yes. - Bunny faunus replied, lowering her head and staring straight at the table. - It's not like rest of the family can or wants to help in these times of the great need. - She responded with suprising maturity.
- Don't be confused over the tone, she got this from me. - Tigrerra added from the side, making Volt a little more comfourtable.
- I see... Luckly for you I have a proposal to solve this problem. - Vestalian brawler said with serious glare.
- Which is? - Velvet, Tigrerra and resting right to the letter Pyrrha asked him in unision.
- I will bring your whole family to Kuo Kuana and provide the very best goverment-supproted living conditions in exchange for... You know, joining us. The Menagerian royal court in which my group will have a key word in all even minorly important matters. - Volt presented his offer with generous hand gesture. - What do you say? Why not try to say it, like, just once? - He asked her afterwards with kind smile.
- I guess I won't get better chance by... Ever. I'll accept. - Velvet gritted her teeth before accepting and shaking her hand with him.
- You won't regret it. And I'll make sure personally that all points of our deal will be upholded word by word. - Volt said with confidence as they shaked their hands in a mutual agreement.
Emerald pow:
- So Volt goes for a business venture straight to Vale and makes himself a new ally? That might complicate things. - Chan said as she, me and Maken had an emergency meeting at our living room, discussing the newest informations I heard a while ago.
- Main purpouse of Volt in our group is being a leverage to balance a dynamic duo of me and Blake in case we agreed on more than we should. - Maken rised his hand into the air, presenting his view on the matter. - Him taking Velvet under his wing is a reasonable move that grants our kingdom a fairly skilled young person. Besides, organising ourselves in teams of two is, from technical standpoint, a tool to ensure no one will go crazy or mad. I got paired with Blake, you two got paired with Sebastian and Lync respectively and Volt has a full necessity to be paired with anyone else who isn't our enemy. - He continued his speech, granting us with a technical details and 'step by step' mentality.
- I haven't expected you to be that much of a long-term planner, but fair enough. - Chan said from the side while I had a deeper thought about how much I didn't look over Lync.
- Emi. By your face I can see that you're going to get better at your job soon enough. - Maken suddenly threw a few words of comment towards me, making me nearly jump in suprise. - This concludes our meeting, we met up at the Ghira's conference full-on ready for him proclaming a Kindgom of Menagerie a real thing. - He added with conclusive matter, as he stood up from the seat and left the room with Chan following him soon after.
- All right kid, what do we do? - Fly Beetle asked from my shoulder, making a doubtful impression.
- Now... Now we do our part. If not for us, then at least for the rest. - I responded with moderate voice as we also went out of the room and headed towards the Kuo Kuana for a standard look-around.
Narrator pow:
- *Sigh* I guess I haven't do much this time. - Lync said to himself, observing the entreance gate of the KKBC prison, where the only prisoners so far were common thiefs and Adam Taurus. - But then again, what could I do? Perhabs Ventus atribute is overrated on a wider scale? - He asked himself, looking down on Ventus Robotallion he held in his hand.
- Or maybe you can improve? Make yourself a better brawler? - Emerald suddenly asked him, coming from the left in a serious stride.
- Who knows! I don't know... And let's be honest, neither do you. - Lync responded with resignation, looking back on the front of the prison.
- So let us suprise you kid. We DO know! - Fly Beetle shouted from Emerald's arm, making Lync almost jump in suprise.
- Whoa! What do you even have to offer to scare me like that!? - Ventus brawler responded, gesticulating in angry manner as he spoke.
- Ventus is an atribute of wind. And it is the task of the brawler that uses this atribute to be just as it. - Fly Beetle said with clear wisdom as Lync and Emerald got their focus fully on him. - So from now on, we WILL teach you how to make your opponent suprised... - He continued, making a break mid-sentence for someone else to end it.
-... Or you can drive yourself back to starting point when you were at the lowest point. - Sudden ending from Maken was heard from behind the Lync as he joined the conversation with serious glare.
- Oh, Maken! What's the occasion? - Lync asked him, unsuccessfully hiding the troublesome feeling he had right now.
- Did you seriously thought I didn't saw your intrigue? - Pyrus brawler asked him with offended tone, making 'you're done for now' face.
- What? - Emerald asked from the opposite side of the line, feeling a weird chill down her spine.
- Thanks to the security cameras recording not only the picture but also the sound, I heard a LOT of things I never wanted to hear. And let me tell you, I'm ABSOLUTLY LIVID at this moment. - Maken begin to tell his message with precisly changed intonation during the speech. - You not only tried to capitalize on civil war inside our group, but you also wanted to drag the WHOLE MENAGERIE into your mess! If not for Blake and Emerald, you would be rotting behind these bars for at least a whole decade. - He continued his part, going over the details of his reasoning and inflicting a great intimidation on the trio of listeners. - And now, let me get something straight young boy! You'll not be getting ANY job or even a thing to do ALONE. You'll be always under a detaled oversight of somebody else which WILL include me up until the majority of our group says you have fully redeemed yoruself. - Maken finally said the final verdict, making Lync tremble in shock.
- O-oh. - Emerald barely managed to enforce herself to react, being temporarly paralyzed by sheer power behind the furious yet civil face.
- Anyways. I have way more important matter to attend then little vermin trying to undermine me. - Maken said as he turned around and saw incoming Blake, the latter with uneasy face and diatressed body posture. - See you two at today ceremony if you want. - He shortly added to the washed over Lync and Emerald as he left the and went to encounter Blake.
- Well, that was something. - Fly Beetle said out of necessity to break the silence that came after Maken's rant.
- Yeah... Anyways, we need to talk. - Emerald noded as she catched Lync by the arm and went away from the place dragging him with herself.
Maken pow:
- You didn't needed to be that harsh. - Blake told me as I encountered her in person, adjusting her hair in a soft and afraid manner.
- Letting him go without inflicting any losses is already less harsh then it should be. - I responded to her, making sure that my disappointment at both myself and Lync was clear and obvious.
- I guess you do have a point there. - She said in response, looking behind herself at the prison's entreance gate.
- I guess it's time then. No better time than present. - I said in a supportive manner, placking my arm on her left shoulder.
- *sigh* But I still don't know whenever or not do it. - Blake responded, taking my arm and hugging herself to it like a baby.
- On your place, I probably wouldn't know either. - I comforted her, making the use of my second arm and embracing her in a hug. - That's why I'm coming too. If he won't give up on hatred and revenge, I'll be there to support you. If he gives up under your reasoning and decides to change himself, I'll give him a chance without a second thought. - I added in a quite enlarging way, making her smile a little.
- Thanks. Thanks for everything. - She responded with a smile as I let her come out from my arms and followed her towards the prison.
- Everything for you. - I retored, taking out my security pass with a swift hand move. We still had a need to explain one important thing before the new era. And oh boy, this one issue was under the carpet of other things for too long.
