Narrator pow:
- So, did Sienna recieve the messeage? - Maken asked Adam while they walked in a casual stroll with Blake towards the arena number one, where the official proclamation of soon-to-be Kingdom of Menagerie was about to take place at afternoon. A timing was quite generous, considering that it was to happen in the next five hours.
- It was send yesterday right after you two freed me, Blake looked over the shoulder and helped with choice of words when you went back to your base. - Adam responded, cracking a small smile while loosely holding his blade at the side. - Sorry for sticking to Wilt and Blush so closely, it takes time to get used to after a break. - He added, responding to Maken's curious look at him.
- It's natural Adam. Besides, it is mostly fair for me to grant you right to do so in exchange for joining me. - Maken responded, making an easygoing glare at which both Adam and Blake smiled, portraying the picture of healthy reunion.
- Anyways. Why did you really joined me on this? - Blake suddenly asked out of nowhere making Maken flinch.
- Multiple reasons. Adam, I hope you won't get mad at me now. - Maken responded, slightly slowing down his pace to make the situation more steady.
- Prison maked me mature enough to not rage at reality, go on. - Adam nodded lightly, making it clear that he was okay to hear it.
- All right then, let's get down the list. - Maken said, taking out his scroll and getting down to the actual reasons. - One, I needed White Fang to stop hostility towards Blake, Me and my whole team in a widest possible meaning. Two, I wanted to make Blake less worried given the incoming changes... - Maken decided to make a pause and check the reactions of his companions, recieving neutral glare from Adam and tight hug on his left side from Blake. - And third one, our Kindgom would need an actual leader who actually knows how to command an army, especially if we want to unify Remnant and obliterate Grimm. And you are the best person available for the job. - He ended the explaination with a casual face, making Adam rise an eyebrow.
- I guess it holds up. But what about the others? You haven't agreed with them on this, right? - Adam asked him again, now with doubtful face.
- I didn't. And if Volt tries to take away the benefit of a doubt and overextend on it... - Maken paused to look to his left on Blake, who maked puppy eyes in an effort to convince him otherwise. - ... We will outvote him five to four within our group. So assuming that Volt doesn't try to brake our team for his own goals, we're safe. - He said after a short pause, allowimg Blake to swiftly leap on his back, lut her hands together at his chest and be carried like a backpack.
- Heh, at least she's happy now... That makes one box checked. - Adam smiled, taking his mental notes on to-do list that could be given a working name 'Mistakes to fix', a moral obligation towards his new teammates... Sort of.
Narrator pow (Diffrent place):
- The blueprints are done then. Now we would need to build a dockyards for the realisation... - Volt said to himself as he put the finished project of his battleship back into the shelf with other militarny projects he and employees of his reaserch facility created. - Now however, I need to talk with Maken about his recruitment policy. - He added, taking out his scroll and checking the news again, where the information about so called Ilia Amitola being released from prison under a compromise and good behavior was already in a 'hot' category for local media.
- So you want to play this game in a unfair way, huh? Might aswell challange him to a command for everyone's sake. - Volt thought deeply, writing text messeages to every team member he could, all of which generally cointained an elegant version of 'Me and Maken will have a brawl after the ceremony to see who will rule the team. Attention at the brawl is mandatory.'.
- Not sure if it's good, but it is necessary. Also... - He paused his short monologue to look at the Boriates. - ... I could use a real challange.
Maken pow:
- Why did I expected that? And also, why do I feel like I will actually put an effort there? - I asked myself out loud as I recieved the text messeage from Volt, a messeage containing a confirmation of my darkest fears.
Betrayal.
- Hmph, worthless. - I burped in the most angsty way possible to man as I walked forward to join Belladonna family and Adam, who decided to spend their time to socialize and explain what was to explain.
- Mister Pedington, why are you looking so mad? - Ghira asked me first, making me aware that emotions went ahead of my glare.
- Volt decided to oppose me out loud, a thing we can't have given our current Remnant-wide situation. - I explained myself, checking bakugans I had with myself before taking up my scroll and picking the contact to Volt. - Now excuse me, I need him to brawl now so the official declaration we have planned won't be denied right after. - I quickly added, writing my own text to him and slightly narrowing my eyes.
- Mind if we join to cheer for you? - Kali asked, making Blake lose a bit of her breath as she propably also wanted to said it.
- If you want to do so... - I responded with a careful thinking, seeing that Volt agreed to play earlier. - I think you can. I'm in need of all the support I can get.
- So where we're going? - Adam asked from the second line, so far staying behind other Belladonnas.
- Arena number two, since the number one is under ceremonial maintenance. - I quickly answered his question, taking a look at the scroll's messeage board where Emerald already gave us previously mentioned place. - Now let's go. Stability won't establish itself out of nowhere!
Narrator pow:
- How do you think this goes? - Velvet asked Sebastian, who was poundering over the whole situation while Volt and Maken came to their brawling stances.
- I don't know, and honestly? I don't look at this as another casual duel. - The boy in question responded, narrowing his eyes. - This brawl will decide more than meets the eye. Especially since we are so divided over two misguided warriors trying to take the top spot.
- It is true. - Fall Hydranoid said to him from the side, taking herself away from chit-chat with Tigrerra and Pyrrha.
- However, we cannot jump and actually side with one of them. Our group is supposed to serve bigger values than just power and authority. - Tigrerra added in her solemn voice, earning nods from Pyrrha and Seb.
- So what now? We join the others to show our unity? - Velvet asked, giving a look at the opposing side of the arena, where Belladonnas, Adam, Chan, Emerald and Lync waited in their seats on the 'Maken' s' side of the brawl in a truly symbolic manner.
- Might aswell. Even if it means treason in Volt's mind, our group must stay intact, especially on the outside. - Pyrrha said with unexpected even for her maturity.
-In that case let's go. This will go for a but of time. - Sebastian decided without hesitation as the whole group went up and walked to the right alongside tribunes and seats to join the rest.
(Insert attention switch to the brawl here.)
- Gate card set! - Maken shouted, throwing his gate card into the middle ground. - Bakugan brawl! Pyrus Centipoid stand!
- Bakugan brawl! Haos Boriates stand! - Volt shouted right after him, also throwing his bakugan into the battle.
Maken - 100%
Centipoid - 350g
Volt - 100%
Boriates - 700g
- Ability card activate! Fire boost. - Maken said woth progressively decreasing passion as Centipoid allowed itself to be cover by flames.
Centipoid - 350g = 550g
- Ability card activate! Fire Axe! - Volt shouted with energetic voice, while Boriates created double-edged axe on top of his lower arm parts and charged at Centipoid.
Centipoid - 550g = 250g
Boriates - 700g = 1000g
- Hehe. Nice try. - Maken said with 'are you seriously trying to do "x"?' facial expression, taking another card into his gauntlet and preparing for a right moment. - Ability activate, deflection shield! - He shouted at the last reasonable moment, creating a red energy dome over Centipoid which deflected strike of Boriates axe straigh back at him.
Centipoid - 250g = 550g = 850g
Boriates - 1000g = 700g = 400g
- You need to stop hitting yourself bro. I won't let my friends down again. - Maken glared at Volt with determined face, his mind returning back to the fall of Beacon.
- We'll see about that. - Volt said, taking another ability card into his gauntlet. - Ability card activate Tempest Arrow! - He shouted, forcing Boriates to fire from his handcannons at the ceeling, from where multiple lightning strikes striked down onto Centipoid.
Centipoid - 850g = 550g
Boriates - 400g = 700g
- Hmph, back to the beggining then? - Maken scoffed with satisfactory smile as he drew out another ability card and plaved it inside the gauntlet. - Let me break the stalemate then. Ability card activate! Fire Tornado! - He shouted abrassively, his Centipoid shielded by a powerful vortex of flames.
Centipoid - 550g = 750g
Boriates - 700g = 500g
- You could aswell throw a plastic chair if you look for damage! - Volt shouted in a teasing way, taking another ability card. - Ability activate! Odin Shield! - He followed it up with actication of another card, creating a lighting dome around Boriates and slowly erasing burning cover of Centipoid.
Centipoid - 750g = 550g
Boriates - 500g = 700g
- Blocking my abilities? Smart one my brave adversary. - Maken corrected his jacket, looking at the field where Volt begun to take the advantage. - But I'm not here to have fun like with the others! Gate card open! Pyrus Reactor! - He straight out yelled at top of his lungs at Volt, shaking his fists in the air as the battlefield swiftly turned into a lava pit, fire and other burning elements taking their places all over the battlefield.
Centipoid - 550g = 1050g
(Short cut to the stands.)
- A straight 500g gate card!? He went insane! - Chan shouted from the stands, where most of the attendies were shocked by agressive turn of events.
- It isn't insanity. - Ravenoid said from Blake's shoulder, looking at the blazing field. - Maken has decided to not hold back, and now he's using the strongest and most unfair moves he has in the terrifying arsenal of his. - He added with serious voice, glaring at the rageful fire in a moderate distance before him.
(Back to the brawl.)
- Ugh! Ability card activate, Prometheus Cannon! - Volt shouted, activating another ability card while Boriates extended double barrel cannons from his right arm.
Centipoid - 1050g = 750g
Boriates - 700g = 1000g
- Still trying to be on the offensive... - Maken said without visible intrest, taking another ability card into his gauntlet. - Ability activate! Spiced Assault! - He shouted, naming his attack while Centipoid's eyes flashed with a spakr before launching himself at Boriates and taclking him down, his pincers trying to choke the neck of mechanical bakugan.
Centipoid - 750g = 950g
Boriates - 1000g = 800g
- Ability card activate! Element Glow! - Volt quickly countered his move with his own ability, causing the core in a centre of Boriates torso to glow with yellow-ish colour while said bakugan threw Centipoid away from himself.
Centipoid - 950g = 750g
- You had your five minutes of fame Volt. But this play is over. - Maken said with neutralny glare while Centipoid twisted himself mid-air and charged at Boriates. - Ability card activate, Attractor! You're up Saurus! - Maken shouted while cocking up his gauntlet. Sending his second bakugan on top of his companion, furtherly strenghtening Centipoid since that's how this ability card works if used on ally
(Centipoid - 750g = 800g, Saurus - 300g) - 1050g = 1100g
- What!? - Volt shouted in suprise, seeing how two Pyrus bakugans rammed into his Boriates and send him flying backwards under his legs in amazingly quick motion.
Volt - 100% = 40%
- So, still trying to undermine me? - Maken asked him sharply, catching his returning bakugans.
- Undermine? What do you mean? - Volt asked him with actual suprise, taken aback by this declaration.
- You just jumped to ultimate conclusion of overthrowing me just because I let an old foe join us! - Maken shouted with anger, making most of the audience take a step back. - And I could understand that, you know, not everyone has to get along. But NO! You decided that's good reason to dump me! Just because I am willing to let people change! - He continued his rant, excessively vibrating in place so Griffon wouldn't distract him.
- Even criminals? - Volt asked him, rising an eyebrow.
- Lync and Emerald. Does it answer my question? - Maken retored, making him and two mentioned people flinch.
- Fair enough. - Volt responded, throwing his gate card onto the field. - But a battle and it's stake still stands.
- Just as I thought, let's keep the game running then. - Maken responded, replacing his Centipoid with Falconeer.
- Bro, you sure you don't wanna try me? Or Tuskor, maybe even Robotallion? - Griffon asked his brawler from the side, confused about the tactic he took up.
- Bakugan brawl! Bakugan stand! - Both Maken and Vokt shouted, throwing their bakugans back into play, opening the second round.
Falconeer - 300g
Boriates - 700g
- Don't worry buddy, I'm just making him feel overconfident again. Bakugans are all about strategy and timing after all. - Maken comforted his guardian, retunring his full focus to the battle afterwards.
(Cut to the attendies watching.)
- Maken seems to be winning. - Blake commented, looking forward at the battlefield. - But... I don't know how to feel about it. - She added woth sad tone while Boriates in the background extended double cannon from his right arm.
- Give it time, Maken surely will do the right thing of you jump at the right time. - Sebastian said on his own violation, looking sky high at Falconeer dodging left and right blasts from Boriates's cannons.
- I guess you're right then. Let's watch to the end. - Blake responded without much improvement, looking back at the arena where Boriates shoot straight at the ceeling.
(Back to the brawl.)
Falconeer - 300g = 0g
Boriates - 700g = 1000g
- Ability card activate! Reflection Shield! - Maken shouted, quickly activating his gauntlet and forming a red ball around Falconeer which reflected the incoming lightning bolts from the ceeling back at Boriates, making his tumble backwards for a few meters.
Falconeer - 0g = 300g = 600g
Boriates - 1000g = 700g = 400g
- Ability activate! Muzzle Lancer! - Volt shouted in response, activating his own ability card and letting Boriates activate his lightning sword.
Falconeer - 600g = 400g
Boriates - 400g = 600g
- Good luck fighting in meele range with flying opponent. - Maken said with a silent laugh, looking at Falconeer circling around his opponent like it was his prey. - Ability card activate, Frame Fire! - He added with energetic shout, allowing his bakugan to take additional ammount of fire into and around himself for a power boost.
Falconeer - 400g = 600g
- Make a wish then, because you just played yourself. - Volt commented shortly, taking another ability card into the gauntlet and cocked up the latter with swift arm move. - Ability activate, Element Glow. - He said afterwards quickly following it up with programming the Custom Battle Ability on it.
Falconeer - 600g = 400g
Boriates - 600g = 900g
- Cheating jus to grab a narrow victory? Where did I seen it before? - Maken asked ironically, taking two ability card from his pocket and placing them inside the gauntlet. - Double ability activate, Fire Armor plus Fireball! - He shouted upon activation of the cards, granting his Falconeer a new layer of fire around him and sending a large ball of fire straight at Boriates.
Falconeer - 400g = 600g
Boriates - 900g = 700g
- Really? I won't mind. - Volt smiled, making a single wave with his right arm and pointing at the ground. - Gate card open, Silent Land. - He said, opening his gate card and freezing Falconeer mid-air.
- Hahaha! You fool! You felled for my trap! - Maken laughed enthusiastically, suddenly taking Griffon from his shoulder.
- Whoa! That's just rushed! - Griffon shouted in suprise before Maken throw him into the battle.
(Falconeer - 600g, Griffon - 350g) - 950g
Boriates - 700g
- And just so you know, your gate card affects only Falconeer, my Griffon is free to fight for him. - Maken added, preparing his gauntlet for next action.
- what? - Volt asked him with a halfway point between realisation and cluelessnes painted on his face.
- Griffon, NOW! - Maken shouted at top of his lungs, to which his guardian obeyed without question and jumped at Boriates, pinning him to the ground and slashing him sideways with his claws before his target returned back into the ball form and towards the baffled Volt.
Volt - 40% = 0%
- Today's lesson? Do not mess with me. - Maken proudly announced, catching his returning bakugan into his hand. - Now then, please tell me buddy... - He continued his speech, walking towards now kneeling out of frustration Volt with casual stroll. - How does it feel... To be on the wrong side of history?
