Yuuko was draped on the floor smoking when Maru and Moro dragged out the mirror. Interested, she watched as a handsome middle-aged woman gazed at her imperiously.

"Are you the Far East Witch?" the woman asked.

"I am called that occasionally," Yuuko said.

"I have a wish for you."

Yuuko gazed at the woman in mild amusement. "And it is?"

"I need a god."

Yuuko stood in the doorway of her storage room and waited as Watanuki dragged out objects irritably.

"I don't see why you keep placing things in weird places," he shouted out after several books had landed on his head. They had been rather large too.

She grinned as she watched him rub his head.

"Now, now, it's your job to make sure I put things in the right places," Yuuko said, expecting and rewarded with an almost incoherent outcry and flailing of limbs.

"That's all I need," she said after a while. She walked in and calmly began sorting the things out while Watanuki hovered curiously. When she was done, she had a fragment of a mirror, a coat, and a top hat.

"How can you create a god with those things?" he asked dubiously. "It's just a coat, a hat, and a piece of broken mirror."

Yuuko looked up from packing the things. "Actually, the clothes aren't really needed but she didn't have anything suitably formal. However, the mirror piece is from the witch this woman is - fighting, I suppose. And it'll help become a focus so a human can, for a few moments become a god. Using it has a price beyond the objects though."

She then tapped the fragment lightly in faint amusement. "This was a payment for a wish to stop being obsessed with red shoes."

Noticing that Watanuki looked puzzled, she waved dismissively, "Nothing that you need to know."

She walked out and headed towards the mirror where the woman waited. She nodded in thanks as she took the box.

"Don't be too surprised if there are side-effects." Yuuko told her.

"I can accept them," Mrs. Gogol said after a moment.

They watched as the mirror cleared.

Several weeks later, Yuuko was lounging again and watching Watanuki as he energetically attacked the room with a broom.

After Maru, Moro and he moved to another room (Maru and Moro more hindering than help), Yuuko leaned back and blew smoke towards the ceiling, watching the patterns it made.

"'And it was said that every year, when the carnival was at its height and the drums were loudest and the rum was nearly all gone, a man in a tail coat and a top hat and with the energy of a demon would appear out of nowhere and lead the dance.'" she said as if quoting.

Yuuko then grinned like the Cheshire cat, "Have fun Baron."

"Oh Watanuki-kun!" she called out, "For dinner I want tsumire soup!"

"Ah! I barely have enough time!"

"No time! No time! Watanuki-kun has no time!"
