To those asking who Meredith will end up with, I honestly have no idea. I'm just writing one chapter at a time.

Chapter 3

Meredith exited the bathroom considerably less put together than what she had been when she had entered. She was a little dazed and she knew that mixed with the alcohol she had drunk she was in no shape to drive. She approached the bar again and asked Joe to call her a cab. While she was waiting Addison exited the bathroom and shot her a wink before rejoining her group of friends.

She would be lying if she said that was the first time she had experimented with her sexuality. In fact, it was probably at the point now where it was long past experimenting and she needed to accept the fact she was bisexual. She had no problem with that. It just meant she had a much larger pool of people at her disposal.

This was why she couldn't go on a date with Derek. Less than 12 hours had passed since he had been kissing her and she had already been fucked by someone else. She had never done the relationship thing before. It wasn't something her mother had ever encouraged. Besides, it's not like she had any spare time anyway. She didn't know a lot about relationships, but she could make the assumption that any partner wouldn't be thrilled at her spending over a hundred hours at the hospital each week.

Now that her head wasn't clouded with porny thoughts and needs, she could see much clearer. She just needed to make sure that she wasn't alone with Derek. He had already proved that he couldn't be trusted to keep his hands to himself. And to be completely honest, neither could she. So no more encounters with Derek. If there was she knew he would eventually break her resolve. She nodded her head to herself and stood up to leave. Her taxi would be here any minute now and she really needed to get home to get some sleep. She didn't notice the eyes on her as she left.

Meredith had been back at the hospital for six hours now and she was already emotionally drained. In med school, they didn't prepare you for the lost patients and after already losing two this morning she was struggling. She walked over to the nurses' station and sighed while leaning on the counter. Another intern in her group, George, looked up at her.

"Bad day already?" He asked.

Meredith turned to face him. She hadn't spoken to him much but she had noticed he was kind. "Yeah, lost two patients already."

George looked at her appraisingly for a second. "Come with me." He said and grabbed her arm to pull her towards the elevator.

"George! Where are you taking me!" She asked while laughing.

"Just trust me."

Meredith just shrugged and followed him into the elevator. They waited in silence to be delivered to the next floor and exited when they arrived. She looked around and noticed they were in the maternity ward.

"George! What are we doing here! I don't think we're allowed here!" Meredith hissed at him.

He just gestured to her to follow him. Finally, he came to a stop in front of the nursery. Meredith looked in and immediately felt calmness and peace wash over her at the site of the sleeping babies. She looked over at George who was looking at her with a knowing look.

"Thanks George."

He just smiled and patted her on the back before leaving her to it. She stood there for a few more minutes and once she felt her bad morning wash away she turned to leave. She wasn't watching where she was going and slammed straight into someone.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" Meredith said crouching down to pick up what the other person had dropped without looking at them.

"Fancy seeing you here."

Meredith froze at the familiar face and slowly looked up. She cursed under her breath when the redhead from the night before came into view.

"Oh... Um… Hi… Sorry… Gotta go!" Meredith spluttered out before turning around and practically running away.

If she had turned around she would have seen Addison shaking her head, laughing at her.

Meredith was standing on the staircase trying to catch her breath after running back up to the surgical floor. The door she was about to go through slammed open and revealed Christina.

"There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you. I'm sick of doing charts. There are no cool surgeries today. I'm bored." Christina rambled moving to sit down on the stairs. When she didn't get a response she turned to look at Meredith. "What's wrong with you? Why are you so pale."

Meredith glared at her. "This is all your fault. You told me she was a lawyer."

Christina narrowed her eyes at her in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

"Last night at the bar. You said that woman was a lawyer." Meredith replied as she started pacing.

"I said she looked like a lawyer." Christina said, still confused. "What is going on?"

Meredith stopped her pacing and looked at her. "Last night after you left she came over to talk to me and one thing just led to another! And just now I was up on the maternity floor and I literally ran into her! I slept with another fucking attending!" She said the panic evident in her voice.

Christina threw her head back and laughed loudly. "I'm sorry." She spluttered out. "But honestly, only you Mer."

Meredith glared at her. "A little support would be great."

Christina just shook her head and kept laughing. "You did this to yourself. It's your own fault for not keeping it in your pants."

"Ugh. Shut up." Meredith replied collapsing next to her on the steps. "What the hell am I going to do."

"It'll be fine. If she was on the maternity ward then she's OB right? How often do surgeons have to deal with OBs anyway?"

Meredith nodded feeling herself calm down. "Okay, you're right. I'll just stop going up there."

"Why were you even there in the first place?" Christina asked.

"Bad morning. The babies make George and I feel better."

Christina snickered again. "You've been hanging out with Bambi?"

Meredith glared at her again. "We're about to spend the next 5 years with these people. You need to at least try and be civil."\

"Ugh, whatever. Come find me when you're done with your freak-out. We can go troll for cases in the ER." Christina grumbled as she stood up and left through the door she had appeared through a few minutes earlier.

Meredith took a few more deep breaths and followed her.

It was 3am and Meredith finally had a chance to find an on-call room to catch a few hours of sleep. She entered the nearest one and collapsed onto the nearest bed, not bothering to look at who else was occupying the room. She closed her eyes and felt herself starting to drift off. A shuffle in one of the other beds made her open her eyes and look over. She saw Derek sitting up on the bed opposite smiling at her. She groaned and covered her face with her hands.

"Now that's not a very nice way to greet someone."

She sat back up. "I'm gonna go find another room."

"Why? Can you not trust yourself around me?"

Meredith scoffed. "More like I can't trust you."

Derek smirked at her and lay back down. "You don't have to leave, I promise I won't try anything."

She looked at him suspiciously, but her tiredness won out and she opted to lie back down and get as much sleep as possible. But as soon as the room was quiet again and she could hear his deep breaths she suddenly wasn't tired at all. Her brain started replaying the scenes from the previous night and she felt a rush of need between her thighs. She squirmed a little and tried to push the thoughts from her mind but was not successful. She opened her eyes again and looked over at Derek. His arms were above his head which had caused his scrub top to rise up. She looked hungrily at the part of his abs exposed. Her eyes were hooded and she was licking her lips when Derek opened his eyes and looked at her again.

"Can I help you with something?"

His voice caused her need to grow and she groaned. Any remaining self-control she had dissipated and she jumped off her bed and made her way to his. She climbed on top of him but Derek quickly flipped her so he was on top. She reached both hands to try and pull his face closer but he grabbed them and pinned them above her head.

"Patience Meredith." He whispered in her ear.

She moaned in anticipation and tried to arch her body to get better contact. He chuckled at her and let go of her hands.

"Take your shirt off."

She quickly pulled the shirt over her head and threw it to the ground. His eyes lazily wandered over her bra and she bit her lip. She loved his stare but she needed to be touched. She tried reaching for him again but he pulled back.

"I said patience Meredith." He growled softly. He waited a few seconds to make sure she listened before continuing.

Meredith was panting and her eyes were so dark with desire they didn't even look green anymore. God, it was hot when he was bossy. Derek slowly lowered his mouth to her skin. He placed wet open-mouthed kisses along her collarbone. Getting closer and closer to her bra. He stopped and reached to unclip it. He threw the garment to the side and drank her in with his eyes. The sight of her bare breasts urged him into action and suddenly his hands and mouth were everywhere. Meredith's hands finally found his hair and she held him into place as he ravished her body. Finally, his hands reached her pants and he pulled them down, quickly followed by her panties. He was about to pull his own down when the door burst open. Derek quickly covered her exposed chest.

He looked up and swore. "Fuck off Addison."

Meredith's head quickly turned at the name and her mouth gaped open. Addison rolled her eyes over her nearly naked form and smirked. Their eyes met and Addison raised an eyebrow at her.

"Seriously Addison! We're kind of in the middle of something here." Derek hissed at her.

Addison turned around laughing and pulled the door behind her. Derek faltered for a second thinking the mood would be ruined. He was surprised when Meredith started grinding up against him, her moans getting louder and more desperate. It seemed that being interrupted had just turned her on more. Pulling his pants down he continued where they had left off.

After reaching their highs they both collapsed into each other. After a few minutes of catching their breath, Derek spoke. "Sorry about Addison. It seems my ex-wife is still trying to ruin my life."

Meredith froze and her heart rate sped up again. "Your ex-wife?"

Derek looked at her in confusion. "You already knew I'm divorced."

"Oh yeah... No, I knew… I just… Ahhh… Forgot... Forgot that you were divorced… Yeah." Meredith spluttered trying to cover her tracks.

He looked at her strangely but let it go. His pager started beeping and he rolled out of bed to grab it. Looking down he groaned. "Sorry, I've got to run. I've got a 911 in the pit."

"It's fine, go!" She replied while sitting up, her voice still a higher pitch than normal.

He gave her one more strange look and then left. Meredith groaned and flopped back down onto the bed. Christina was going to have a field day at the new information. This would only happen to her.
