. . . . .
"Morning Spinelli." Henry yawned as he walked past her on the apartment roof.
She nodded in response, holding a tray of mugs and a cookie tin as she walked to the apartment stairs leading down.
Henry pulled his light jacket around his shoulders. Frank and Albedo sat on the roof in front of him. Albedo leaned up against Frank, still and quiet. He took a seat next to them. "I thought I'd find you two up here."
Frank smiled at him, pressing a finger to his lips.
Henry looked at Albedo. The male slept soundlessly, dead to the world, his chest rising and falling as he breathed. Henry reached out a hand to the male, but stopped short. He felt Frank's eyes on him, studying and possibly wondering as he dropped his hand and set it on his lap.
He focused on the sunrise, watching the sky shift ever subtly through colors of the rainbow. "So young." Henry murmured softly.
"Huh?" Frank continued to look at him.
Henry looked at Frank for a moment, his mind reminding him that he had to somehow get Albedo to enter the Plumber section of Hypnos. A part of him couldn't quite wrap his mind around Albedo's deep seated dissatisfaction with them.
"To be so old." He continued, "To be so tired and jaded and just...done." He continued. His mind wondered just what had happened to make Albedo dislike the Plumbers so much. He wondered just how much Ben Tennyson played a part in that.
"It happens when a lot happens to a person." Frank looked out into the distance. "But lots of things happen to lots of people."
"Hm..." Henry looked at Albedo, "You're not going to say anything are you?"
Frank kept watching the sunrise, "Would it be my place to?" He draped an arm around Albedo's frame.
Henry stopped looking at him and clenched his fists. He held his tongue swallowing the words, 'Serves him right.' deep within himself.
"He's more comfortable here." Frank spoke, "I think so at any rate."
Albedo rolled over, burying his face in Frank's side.
"He's got a good amount of...things," Frank struggled with his words, "in Bellwood, in America. But it's not..." He blinked, shaking his head, "I don't think it means as much." He sighed. "I'm sorry. I don't know how to word it."
Henry nodded slowly, "It's okay. I understand, I think."
"It doesn't mean anything." Frank spoke quickly. "Not as much as the things here do, I think."
"Hm..." Henry rubbed his hands against his pants. A bit of guilt nibbled at him, as a gentle warmth filled him.
"I don't quite know what he's thinking." The male sighed, strands of dark blue hair falling from his sloppy ponytail. "I hope one day, I do."
Frank, Humprey and Sean all said odd things despite their quick and complete understanding of Japanese. Terriermon had told him that they hadn't really learned Japanese, but were just using advanced translators that translated his words to them, and allowed each other to hear each other's translated words. He thought such technology wasn't quite up to that standard on Earth, but then again, Earth had the Digital World and all things related to it. A part of him wondered where they hid the devices.
'It's too early to be this curious.' He thought to himself. He sat in silence next to Frank, thoughts of Hypnos, Albedo and Juggernaut running through his mind. None of it seemed quite bad, as he was pleased that Albedo was getting some rest for once.
Frank gasped, jerking enough to make Albedo slide off of him. Terriermon appeared in the air, resembling little colored dots of statics. As his form solidified, the Digimon fell into Henry's lap.
"It's impossible to find you sometimes, I swear." Terriermon spoke, waving his arms as he stood up on Henry's lap.
"What have I told you about doing that?" Henry snapped, voice soft, "And keep your voice down."
"Dad says I need practice." Terriermon looked at him with innocent beady black eyes.
"Not at six in the morning." Henry muttered. Both he and Frank glared at him.
"What?" Terriermon looked at both confused.
Albedo scratched his head. He pressed his hands on Frank's thigh as he pushed himself up to a sitting position.
"Oops." Terriermon looked down at Henry's lap.
The white haired male rubbed his eyes. "You let me..." he trailed off, voice wavering as he looked at Frank.
"It's fine. You needed it." Frank looked behind Albedo at the digimon and Henry.
Albedo turned around, "Hello Jenrya."
Henry smiled warmly. "I hope you enjoyed your rest."
Albedo nodded.
"I'm heading down to the Tokyo Metropolitan Building in a bit," he continued speaking, "so the apartment is all yours for a few hours.
"Again?" Albedo narrowed his eyes.
"Yea..." Henry trailed off, looking warily at Frank.
Albedo nodded. "Alright," he murmured. He leaned back on Frank's side, draping an arm against his own side.
"You can go back to sleep." Frank spoke, "I don't mind."
"It's fine. I just need to wake up first."
Henry narrowed his eyes at them. Terriermon looked up at him. He shook his head. He rested his hands on his legs, palms up. He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. The four of them sat on the roof in silence, resting.
