Chapter 10

...

Morning sex. It's always fun. A little risky with morning breath and that corner of the eye crust thing, but both she and Peter had found that it was their preferred thing when they were together. However, morning sex in Peter's ridiculously large, pounding, pulsating water from every direction shower; that was a wake-up. She and Peter had just engaged in a quickie in said shower; a little wake up sex before Noah crawled from his sleep to dominate their day.

There in the shower, against the wall, Peter ran his hands through her wet hair, and kissed her softly as they both spasmed and their minds, along with their bodies calmed down from the massive orgasms they'd just shared.

"That was..." she breathed out, completely spent, but with a huge grin and look of contentment on her face.

"Incredible!" He said as he dipped his head and kissed her softly. He loved spending mornings like this with her. He could make love to her a million times and never get enough of her, nor she him.

"How about instead of going out, we have breakfast at home?" She asked as she reached for her shampoo.

"In the mood to cook? I like it!" He said as he looked down and she smiled. "Liv, I think we have a visitor," Peter laughed as he watched the blood drip from his cock.

Olivia was confused for a moment. "What?" She asked and quickly looked down to the tile where he'd motioned, to see blood and cum swirling down the drain. To say she was mortified…

"Peter, I…" she tried to find words in her horrified and embarrassed state.

"Liv, women have periods. It's fine," he smiled and kissed her nose. "I just thought that you didn't… well, since you're in meno-"

"...and I don't." she stopped him before he could fully get the word out. She hated it. Menopause. She finally found somebody that wanted the life she'd always wanted, but, now it was too late for her to do what she'd always dreamed of and give him children. Life was a real bitch that way.

"...not every month." She said quietly and still embarrassed even though he seemed fine about it. She wasn't. She'd been having periods since she was thirteen and still hadn't learned to be normal about getting them around a man, and certainly not during sex. Though she had to admit, Peter was the first to not completely freak out about it and that made it easier.

"You okay?" He understood that perhaps she had to be reminded of the fact of what she couldn't do, and it made him sad to think that she was unhappy in any way. Suddenly there was this reminder to her of what she couldn't be for him. She simply nodded, not knowing what else to do, and continued to pick up her shampoo bottle from the wall shelf.

In ten minutes time, Peter had run to the drugstore, wet hair and all, for tampons. He also bought her ice cream, salty chips and chocolate to soothe her cravings. That part she didn't ask of him, but was so happy when he returned with a literal bag of goodies for her.

Embarrassment aside, she was happy today. Genuinely happy, and she'd been this way for so long, she kept wondering when it would fall apart. She still hadn't learned just how to be optimistic, despite all the good things that life had brought her lately. Pessimism always reared its ugly head. She was so afraid that one day, Peter would realize that he was wasting his time with her and he wanted something else. Something younger, that didn't bleed all over his cock during sex!

"Stop being ridiculous!" She said to herself as she wiped the steam from the bathroom mirror and stared at herself there in her towel. "...and the bleeding wasn't a big deal to him." Hell, it barely registered. He was more concerned that she was alright. That was just another reason why she loved him and couldn't help but think of what his mom must have been like to have raised such an incredible son. She would be proud.

She stood there examining herself. Cumming in the morning did wonders for her complexion. She thought as she smirked. Opening her towel, she took a long hard look at her body. Looking accusingly, she ran a hand down her flat stomach and to her thighs. She turned sideways and looked at her ass then let her hand travel up to her breasts and looked at the love bites Peter had put all over her body, grinning as she was reminded.

He always made love to her with such want; such need. Like he couldn't do without her body and worshipped every single inch of it. No, there was no reason to think that he could do better with anyone else.

"... And of course I have cramps, because what's a period without them?" She mused as she felt the beginnings of the uncomfortable twinges inside.

...

Peter came downstairs after checking Noah's room; yes, they'd decided last month to turn one of Peter's empty spares into a bedroom for Noah. He and Olivia spent so much time at one another's places and that included Noah at his apartment a lot so Peter thought it was past time that they got him off the sofa and thankfully, Olivia had agreed to it. He found Noah's bed empty but located him, practically lost on the giant couch and gnawing on a big bowl of chocolate cereal while watching tv.

"Morning, bud. Hey, you fixed yourself breakfast!" Peter said, impressed. Noah smiled without taking his eyes away from his cartoons…

"Uh-huh...you have the good stuff," Noah said as he mindlessly watched the television "Peter, can we play basketball on the Xbox?"

"I guess we can. You almost done with your cereal?" He asked as he turned on the kettle to make tea for Olivia, then took a bottle of water from the fridge and began drinking from it thirstily.

Noah was on the last bite of his cereal, then drank the milk down, trying to keep up with Peter and leaving his top lip full of the chocolatey residue.

"Yep, all done!" But Peter just laughed looking at the milk above Noah's lip. Thankfully there were some napkins from last night's pizza still on the coffee table, Peter came over and grabbed one to wipe Noah's face.

"Are we still going ring shopping today?"

"...soon as mom leaves for the salon. You've done a very good job of keeping this a secret."

"Thank you. What if we don't find it today?"

Peter laughed, as he held Noah's face and wiped. "I don't know, bud. I guess we have to hope we will."

"Okay, lets play..." Noah said as Olivia entered the living room.

"Play...?" Olivia was confused as she came downstairs wearing jeans and a long-sleeved t-shirt. She went straight for the kitchen, to the refrigerator and grabbed a bar of chocolate before she headed back to the living room. "...before breakfast?"

"I already ate."

She was quickly distracted when she noticed the huge, empty bowl that had cereal residue, sitting on the coffee table near an empty cereal box that was turned on its side. "Noah, how much of that cereal did you have?"

"Not much…" he said quietly as he looked up at her and saw by the look on her face when she scowled hard. That look told him that it probably wasn't in his best interest to lie to her. "...all of it." He finished, getting quiet. He looked at his mom and then at Peter before he buried his head under Peter's arm. Just as the kettle started to whistle.

"So, what are you and Peter gonna do today?" Olivia asked as she put her sweater over her tee shirt and grabbed her purse.

"It's Saturday, we can do anything!" Noah said as Peter came downstairs. "Peter, can we get ice cream?"

"Uh…"

"Not too much." Olivia smiled as she kissed Peter quickly on the lips. "I'll see you guys at two."

"Bye mommy," Noah said, craning for a kiss that he got just as Olivia left. Peter and him made sure she got on the elevator before they ran back to the apartment.

"Are we really gonna go ring shopping?"

"Yep…" he said as his phone rang. "Hold on. Hey, Kevin...not much, me and Noah just going out for...one second, Kev. Yeah bud?" He said to Noah who was pulling at his arm and calling him.

"You okay?" Melinda asked Olivia as they were getting their hair done.

"I got my period this morning."

"First one in what, two months?"

"On Peter,"

"On...oh."

"Yeah."

"Did he freak out?"

"Surprisingly, no. He kinda laughed it off. He even went get me tampons and chocolate."

"Okay, that man is a keeper." Melinda grinned.

"That man is making me doubt everything. I can't believe that this is my life, Mel, he loves me, he loves my son…"

"I think I'm missing the problem."

"That's just it, there isn't one. Everything can't be so great all the time. The sex is incredible, the conversation is incredible, even when we fight it's incredible in its passion. He wants the things I want. He's brilliant, he's worldly…"

"Honey, this is your time. And God knows you've waited long enough for it, but it's finally here. Run with it."

"Before you got married to Daniel, how did you know when he was gonna propose?" Olivia asked

"There were definite signs; has Peter…?"

"He's...sort of."

"Sort of...?"

"Last month, when he took Noah fishing, we kind of had a talk about it."

"Last month? And you're just telling me now? If there's one thing I know, men don't bring up marriage unless they're seriously thinking about it."

...

Casey joined them afterwards and they went out for lunch before going their separate ways. The whole day, Olivia couldn't stop thinking about what Melinda said, and now that she was alone, it seemed to scream at her.

Maybe Melinda was right, maybe her time had finally arrived. Maybe Peter was her happily ever after.

...

"This one!" Noah said assuredly, excited as he pointed out the beautiful ring from the vast display laid out in front of him. He and Peter had been looking at rings for an hour and none of them were right. Maybe it wasn't here. Maybe he needed to go to Bvlgari. It was after all Olivia's engagement ring, and in Peter's opinion, it had to be perfect. So when he walked over to Noah, and looked at the exquisite piece of jewelry that he had found, something inside of him felt it.

This ring was perfect.

"We wanna see this one!" Noah said with an air of confidence to the woman who was servicing them and trying to flirt shamelessly with Peter who was ignoring it while trying to be polite all the same..

"He has excellent taste." She said as she took the ring from behind the glass and held it up in front of Noah.

"I think you found it, Noah." Peter said as he lifted the ring from the salesgirl's fingers and held it up. A three-carat cushion cut diamond solitaire in platinum. The ultra thin band was coated in one-third carats of French pavë diamonds and the ring shone beautifully in the light of the store. But suddenly Peter couldn't wait until he actually got to put it on Olivia's finger.

"Mommy's gonna love it,"

"I think you're right, bud," he said and turned to the saleswoman. "We'll take it."

End of June...

"Guys, I need you to please keep on your toes while I'm gone."

"Don't worry Lieutenant, we got this," Carisi said.

"We've more than got it, Liv," Fin added, "go, have fun with Noah and I promise when you get back, the place will still be standing."

"Well, if I wasn't scared before, I am now," she laughed playfully as Amanda came to her with a folder.

"last Hancock before you go…" Olivia took, then signed the papers in front of her as Peter entered the precinct. He was wearing a suit, as usual, looking ever so charming and when Olivia saw him, she smiled.

"Hey Fin," Peter greeted.

"Counselor."

"You here to see the lieutenant? Just in time, she's about to leave for vaca-" Amanda started, as he went to Olivia and kissed her sweetly on the lips. Carisi, and the other officers that were there, all stopped what they were doing and looked on, shocked.

"Hi, beautiful!" Peter said as he pulled back from a smiling Olivia, her lips now swollen from the kiss. Sonny couldn't close his mouth, nor could Thompson as they had dumbstruck looks about them and just wordlessly looked at one another.

"Hey yourself!" Olivia said as she wiped her lipstick off his mouth.

"Ready to go?"

"So ready. I'll see you guys in two weeks!" She said as he took her hand in his and together they walked out of the squad room with all eyes on them. The guys stared after them for a moment before it was Carisi who spoke up.

"What the hell just happened?"

"It's called dating, Carisi!" Fin said as he walked off to the file room. Carisi was left with Amanda in the squad room.

"Wait, so, Peter Stone is the man she's seeing? All the flower deliveries, leiu smiling on phone calls and the long weekends. It's been Stone?"

Amanda sat grinning.

"Where was I?"

"Carisi, it wasn't a secret. They've been out for months… I gotta go pump or I'm gonna be in trouble." She said and went towards the back.

"Mom, Peter!" Noah yelled excitedly as he jumped in Peter's arms the second they entered her apartment. Olivia had been feeling a hot flash and now that they had gotten into the apartment, it was getting worse.

"Were you waiting at the door for us?' Olivia laughed. But Noah just looked at Lucy and smiled.

"I'll see you in a couple of weeks." She said and kissed his forehead. "Be good."

"I will. Bye Lucy"

"Can I have my present now? PLEAAAASEEEE?" He said to Peter with his hands in supplication as Olivia talked with Lucy before she left. A while ago, Peter convinced Olivia that maybe she should actually take a vacation this summer, and maybe they could do something that Noah would enjoy. The solution? A week in Disneyworld. Noah had never been despite Olivia meaning to take him there before he got too old. Peter insisted on paying for the trip. It'd be an inspiration for Noah to be good at home and school with the promise of a surprise if he did. It worked. Noah had been on his very best behavior for the last almost 2 months and he was going nuts wondering what his surprise would be. Now that school had been out for a week, he was beyond ready for it.

"I don't know, is your room clean?" Peter asked as he walked over to the sofa and sat down. Noah climbed off him and sat beside him while Olivia removed her suit jacket and placed it on the armchair then sat down. She was watching the exchange between her guys with a smile on her face but got up and went to the refrigerator for a cold glass of water as the hot flash still hadn't passed despite how cool it was in the apartment.

"Spotless."

"You think he's ready?" Peter playfully asked Olivia, suddenly noticing that she was drinking heavily from the glass of water while unbuttoning the top buttons on her blouse and plucking at it to cool herself. Forget that the air conditioner was already at a nice sixty-five degrees, she felt like locking herself in the freezer!

Putting the glass down mid-gulp, she turned toward Peter and looked at Noah. "...I uh-yeah," she smiled as she came around to sit on the couch with them. "So guess what?"

"What?" He said excitedly.

Olivia looked at Peter, "Oh, did I tell you? Dodds wants me to be the lead speaker at the next SA convention."

Catching on, he bit back a laugh. "-that reminds me, I have to call my secretary to book my flight for that-"

"PLEASE?!" Noah cried, looking back and forth at both Peter and his mom. They sat there grinning as Noah made guess after guess- all wrong. Finally, it was Olivia who said:

"Think of someplace you've always wanted to go." She didn't need to say more as Noah thought for a second and quickly arrived at his answer in his head.

His eyes went wide with shock as he dramatically clutched his chest and fell from the couch onto the floor. "We're going to Disney World...we're going to Disney World...

Laughing, Peter turned to a laughing Olivia. "I think he's happy. Are you okay?" He asked, taking her hand and kissing it.

"I will be if you can get me stranded in a blizzard right now." She said as she lay her head on his shoulder.

"I'll see what I can do once we make sure that this guy is still alive." He laughed. "Hey Noah, buddy, if you die we can't go…"

"We're flying to Disneyworld tomorrow! Peter, how long is the airplane to Florida?" Noah asked as Peter and his mom tucked him in.

"About three hours?" He said as he looked to Olivia for confirmation she nodded before she went to Noah's bedside.

"Alright, time to get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow." She said as she ran her hand through his curls and kissed him.

"Mmkay." He said with a yawn. "I love you guys."

"We love you more, Champ." Peter said with a kiss. He and Olivia smiled as they looked at Noah, then started to walk out of the room.

"Peter..." Noah called to him, and signaled for him to come closer.

"I'll be in in a minute." He said to Olivia and kissed her. "Yeah buddy?" He said to Noah as he approached his bed and sat.

"Do you have the ring?" Noah whispered, causing Peter to smile.

"I have it, no worries."

"Are you gonna ask her while we're on vacation?"

"I plan to."

"Yessss!" Peter laughed.

"Get some sleep, I'll see you in the morning."

"Goodnight."

Peter left and shut the door part-way. When he had gone, Noah turned his body towards the wall and hugged Eddie tight as he closed his sleepy eyes. Where had this man come from and why hadn't his mom met him years ago? He smiled as he thought of how different it would've been if Peter had been his dad always.

Well, that would all be changing real soon. Peter would give her the ring, he'd ask her to marry him, she'd say yes, they'd finally become a real family... Man, this was so exciting!

And to top it all a whole trip just for him? He couldn't wait till morning as he went off to dreamland.

...

In Olivia's room…

"So what did Noah want?" Olivia said from the open door of the bathroom as she brushed her teeth. She couldn't help but be nosy but she didn't want to spy and instead, thought she'd ask Peter.

Peter was seated on her bed, looking at the ring he'd bought. "Sorry Liv, that's just between us guys..."

She stood in the doorway of the bathroom with her mouth full of suds from her toothbrush. "Secret, huh?"

"Sorry mom." He laughed. Thankfully, she didn't come too far out of the bathroom, or she would have seen the ring that he hurried to put back into the dresser drawer. Quickly, he went into the bathroom to join her brushing his teeth. They brushed in silence for a moment until Olivia spit, then rinsed.

"Did you mean it when you said you'd be okay with it if I didn't want more children?" She said as she put her toothbrush back in its place.

"I did," he said, then spit and wiped his mouth. "It would be great if we were able to give another kid a loving home, but I don't want you to think that that's a dealbreaker for me. I love you and Noah, and you're both enough for me even if we don't."

...

More to come. In the meantime, please leave a review.
