Mitsura missed school for the entire week. Their class lost their minds as far as Yugi was concerned. He understood their reasoning, but if Mitsura never missed school before, he more than earned the right to now.

Besides, classes were out for the weekend and he had more important concerns. He, Tea and Tristan crowded around Joey at his desk. A box from Industrial Illusions sat on it. Tristan read out-loud a thick contract-like document letter that came in the box. The document was ten pages thick, stapled together, requiring your signature at the end. It outlined the terms and conditions of participating in a Duel Monster's tournament on one of Maximillion Pegasus' private islands called...

"Duelist Kingdom? But I don't know how to play." Joey looked at the red fingerless glove stashed into a velvet bag. Sign the document, and arrive with it, the glove and the two star chips given.

"It's a promotion, pretty much. For him, his company and this Duel Monsters game." Tristan read the letter attached. "Pegasus is personally giving random individuals whether or not they play Duel Monsters a chance at earning five million USD, and a top ten spot in tournament rankings. All contestants get 10 to 50 grand USD depending on their ranking just for participating. ...How rich is he?"

"Wait...What?" Joey blinked in confusion. "For real?"

"Industrial Illusions is the second richest company on the planet. The only one that beats it is the military company Kaiba Corporation." Bakura Ryou cut into their conversation. "Pegasus frequently donates to various medical charities, but this would give even a man as generous as Pegasus some pause, wouldn't it?"

The group looked at him. Yugi didn't even see him get up to stand near them.

"Amane likes duel monsters, Noa likes competitions. So they're pulling a competition between each other. Noa is really serious about winning, so he" Bakura cleared his throat, "persuaded daddy dearest to throw some of his funds into the mix. You know how it is. Suddenly Pegasus isn't so shy about being ostentatiously frivolous with his money."

"When you so rich, you can just randomly..." Joey growled, "This is so dumb. I'm gonna enter and win, just so I can show how dumb it is!"

"Good luck, this is a really big deal. The top place only wins by defeating Pegasus himself in a duel." Bakura leaned in close and started whispering. "It's hush hush, as in people have died for it, but universally, the top ten duelists in the world have always been given special privileges and access to the highest, classiest places you can think of on behalf of Pegasus himself. Solely as a thank you for liking the game he created that much to be that good. If you drop from tenth place, you automatically lose all privileges. So the top ten duelists will be there, guaranteed."

"Seriously?" Yugi whispered. Suddenly he didn't feel so bad he kept his box. Maybe there was a glove and star chips for him in a hidden compartment. The voice hypothesized that beating Pegasus somehow could wake Old Man Solomon from his coma. If so, despite this probably being a trap, he'd win, no matter what.

First however, he needed to actually get a deck. All he had so far were random cards stashed together for fun. 'This is gonna suck.'

"What the hell do we have jobs and school for!? We could be playing games like men, living like Kings!" Joey clenched his fists. "Tristan, when do we gotta be there!?"
