. . . . .

Yugi discovered quite a few things since Joey revealed he was invited to Duelist Kingdom a few weeks back. Pegasus had indeed given him a glove, star chips and an invitation inside the box with the tape. It was as though he expected to win when he attacked Yugi from the start. While checking up on the game shop, he discovered that Solomon was a bit more savvy than he let on, and left a deck for Yugi with some of his own tips and suggestions. He wondered what it was that Solomon discovered. He'd have to ask after he woke.

Bakura was competing in the tournament as well, as one of Pegasus eliminators: individuals designed to weed out the competition. Bakura had to be there anyway, apparently he was sixth place in the top ten duelists. He made Yugi and the others swear to keep their mouths shut. Mitsura was also there as well, not as an eliminator, but as a top ten. Apparently when Mitsura wasn't reading fantasy novels, he played a children's card game. He was the number one ranking duelist on the planet. Yugi would have never guessed. Were people looking at him because he was the second heir to the Kaiba Corporation or because he was the number one duelist?

One of the last two things he discovered was that he hated Weevil Underwood. He hated him so much that throwing him overboard the cruise ship taking them to the Duelist Kingdom was second nature. The voice in his head scolded him for it like it was his older sibling. He mostly ignored it.

"Go get my cards, you jackass!" Apparently people thought he'd be easy to bully and eliminate, because he didn't play and was tiny. "And drown if you can't find them all!" Yugi shouted over the side of the boat.

Below them Weevil flailed, "I-I can't swim!"

"Then you shouldn't have thrown my cards overboard you douche! Bring! Them! Back!" He snarled.

'Yugi...' The voice in his head sounded quite concerned. 'He cannot...'

'Neither can I, so do as I say and not as I do.' Yugi spat back to him. 'If I don't get those cards, Solomon's as good as dead. I'm at too large a disadvantage as it is.'

'Cards can be replaced, a human life cannot. You are frail beings.'

"Exactly." Yugi hissed. It made sense in his mind. Weevil was not more important than Old Man Solomon.

Joey ran past him, jumped the railing like it was a hurdle, and dived into the water like he was Superman. Yugi gripped the rail tightly. And Joey wasn't less important than Weevil either. Tea and Tristan dragged him into getting both men back onto the boat. They met with Bakura along the way.

"This is how ya take care'a someone like dis, Yug'." Joey winked, then turned back around and looked at the security and life guards who helped them. He weaved a story about how Weevil tried to throw Yugi overboard because he wouldn't show Weevil his cards. So Yugi did, and Weevil tried to throw both Yugi and the cards overboard anyway. They got in a fight and overboard Weevil went, with Yugi's cards. Tea, Tristan, Bakura, a woman with curly blond hair and purple eyes, and a few other contestants were quick to agree. All politely explained their own viewpoints in a timely and organized fashion. Yugi was so upset, the tears came naturally.

"Master Pegasus does not approval of senseless murder. Especially not over a game so dear to his heart." The head guard watching over him was a burly, giant of a man with a cone of hair on his head not unlike Tristan's own hairdo named Kemo. "Based upon the evidence, Weevil Underwood, you are formally disqualified from the Duelist Kingdom Tournament. You will be escorted back to Japan at the earliest convenience."

The look on Weevil's face almost made it worth it that only four of Solomon's five Exodia cards were retrieved. He hadn't gotten the chance to use the deck in a real game and already he was losing cards. Bakura whispered to him that Weevil was in the top ten, and due to being disqualified, he automatically dropped to rank eleven. Yugi almost felt okay again.

"I'm gonna kick your ass Rex Raptor!" Weevil shouted as he was dragged away by the guards. "You're bug meat!"

A boy with long brown hair and purple bangs shrugged his shoulders. "I told you not to, man." He leaned up against the cabin of the ship, outside of his room, watching events from a distance. His smirk was unmistakable. He turned back around and headed inside his suite, whistling a tune.

"See?" Joey clapped his hands together as though he were wiping them off. "No sweat to it." A white towel hung around his shoulders.

"This is kind of ridiculous. That shouldn't have worked," Tea looked around, quite nervous once the crowd dispersed. "What kind of tournament did you two enter? Everyone here knows most of that story is a giant-"

Both Bakura and the blond-haired girl slapped a hand over her mouth. They shook their heads. Tea gulped and nodded.

The final thing Yugi discovered sent him rushing back over to the railing. He gagged over the side, gripping the railing he dropped next to.

Tristan rubbed a hand down his back in a soothing fashion. "You get seasick bad, man."

"Shut up." Yugi mumbled. He leaned his head on the railing. "I knew this was gonna suck."
