Summary of the chapter: Percy is betrayed.

Percy POV

Long Island Sound looked beautiful. The sun shone brightly, warming the soft, white sand. Glimmering waves gently lapped the shore. I usually feel calm near the water. It clears my mind, makes me think, heals me, helps me, makes me feel stronger. Yet, as I paced across the sandy shore, I couldn't help but be lost in thought.

I missed Annabeth deeply. Lately, she has been taking many trips to Camp Jupiter. After the war against the Giants, many temples in New Rome got damaged. Reyna had specially requested Annabeth if, as the resident architect of Olympus, she could design new, better temples for the Roman gods. On hearing that, Annabeth immediately agreed, ecstatic to create something beautiful and permanent for the Romans. But that resulted in me being left alone in Long Island. Very often, when I asked if I could accompany her to Camp Jupiter, she hurriedly declined, stating that she had to do this alone. Even my seal pup pout, which usually worked on her, couldn't help.

Another thing that plagued my mind. After the war, everyone seemed to hate me even though I had done nothing wrong. My fellow campers gave my hateful glares that bore into my skull every time I walked by, making me uncomfortable. Many of them were very hostile to me and once while going past the strawberry fields, I heard a younger camper angrily call me a 'waste of space' and 'traitor'. I couldn't get over it for a long time. Why did everyone hate me so much? I saved the world twice for them. Don't I deserve to be respected and loved?

I sighed and strolled further along the beach. Maybe the cool breeze would clear my troubled mind.

That was when I spotted two girls walking down the beach. They didn't see me as I was a considerably far distance away from them. They seemed to be familiar but it was difficult to discern them from a distance.

I walked a little faster. I had to find out who they are. As I got closer, I noticed that one of them had beautiful blonde princess curls like Annabeth's and the other had long jet-black hair. I quietly tiptoed across the sand and went behind a tree. They were talking about something. Their voices also sounded familiar.

"Annie, you know I like you a lot. Then why are you still with that traitorous sea spawn? Just dump him already! " The blonde girl replies with " Calm down dear Rey. You don't have to wait for long. I am going to do it soon." Rey? Annie? That's Reyna and Annabeth's nicknames. How do these girls have their names?

Both of them kiss and I get a better look at their faces. It was indeed Reyna and Annabeth. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. How could Annabeth do this to me? I loved her!

My vision tinted red. My blood was boiling with disbelief and rage. Anger coursed through my veins. The previously calm waves began lashing the shore. The two girls broke their kiss and looked around, slightly unsettled.

I revealed myself from my hiding spot. Their heads whipped around and when they saw me they gasped. Annabeth covered her mouth with her hand while Reyna looked on in fear and disbelief.

I yelled at them in anger, my voice cracking, "How could you Annabeth! I loved you. I trusted you! I saved you countless times from monsters. I even dove into hell for you. And this is how you repay me?"

Annabeth just held Reyna's hand tightly. Her intelligent grey eyes were filled with shame. But she didn't bow her head or say sorry. Her fatal flaw, hubris, pride wasn't allowing her. She stared into my eyes without flinching at my glare.

I turned to Reyna, " And you! I thought we were friends. We worked together to save the world. How could you do this to me, Reyna?" Reyna gritted her teeth and clenched her free fist that wasn't holding Annabeth. Then Annabeth stepped up bravely in front of Reyna.

"Don't talk to her like that Percy or you'll regret it. I like Reyna much more than you. You never meant anything to me anyway." She spoke, coldly. Hurt plunged into my heart like a hot knife.

I gritted my teeth. "If that's how it's going to be, then fine!" I yelled, angrily.

I turned and ran back to my cabin as fast as I could. I couldn't stand another second in the same place as them.

I packed my belongings. I've had enough of this world. My ex-friends hate me and my girlfriend was cheating on me. The fates loved torturing me, didn't they?

I open the door and was about to leave. It had turned dark and the place was deserted. I took one step forward and slammed into a brick wall.

A rather muscular brick wall covered in leather somehow made me feel angrier. I just wanted to fight every single person in the camp. Wait, why is the brick wall covered in leather?

I looked up and guess what? Mr Annoying Ares and oh so wise Athena were standing in front of me. And I thought this day couldn't get any worse!

Ares had a smug grin on his face. I haven't seen that since I wounded him when I was 12. Uh oh. This means I'm in trouble. Deep trouble.

"Not so fast, traitor. We are taking you to Olympus for trial." Ares barked.

A trial on Olympus? For me? If the gods are conducting a trial in Olympus, it means someone has screwed up, big time. Big enough to offend the gods which is something because the gods only care about anything that affects their control over the world. But I didn't do anything wrong! I saved the world twice! What is going on? Why does everyone think that I'm a traitor? And for what?

"Why are you taking me to Olympus? I haven't done anything wrong! What is going on?"

"Silence. You, Perseus Jackson, have been accused of betraying the Olympians. We have orders to take you to Olympus for prosecution for your crimes."

My hand reaches into my pocket to grab Riptide but the gods are faster. They grab my arms and we teleport to Olympus with me struggling to be free.

Third-person POV

His efforts to be free left him tired and teleport made him disoriented. Percy almost collapsed on his knees but he continued to stand. He could not afford to be weak now. He didn't need rest. He needed answers.

They had teleported straight into the throne room. Ares and Athena flashed themselves back to their thrones and Percy stood all alone in front of the mighty Olympians.

Zeus was sitting on his throne. He was wearing an immaculate grey pinstripe suit and polished leather shoes. His salt and pepper beard cackled with sparks of electricity. He looked at Percy coldly with his startling blue eyes before turning to the rest of the Olympians.

" Perseus Achilles Jackson you stand before the Council for charges of disloyalty against Olympus and adding Gaia in the second Giant war." Zeus thunders.

"That's not true! I never helped Gaia in the war. I was fighting for you, for Olympus the whole time." Percy cried.

"Silence boy! Utter one more word and you will meet a punishment worse than what has been deemed for you." Zeus shouted, angrily. Sparks of lightning darted across his eyes. Thunder rumbled and shook the walls. Walls that Annabeth had built. No, she betrayed him. She cheated on him. He could not think of her now. Yet, pinpricks of hot tears appeared in his eyes and he blinked repeatedly to get rid of them. He tried to focus on the court as they judged him for his so-called crimes.

"Now, Olympians, do you deem Perseus Jackson as guilty or not guilty?"

Percy looked around in fear and disbelief. His father, Poseidon, refused to look him in the eye. But he knew the look on his face too well. It was the same expression Hermes had when Luke turned traitor to Olympus.

There is a chorus of "Guilty" in the throne room. Ares looked smug as he took in Percy's expression of shock.

Zeus continued "Then, Perseus Jackson, you are stripped of your powers, disowned by Poseidon and exiled to the mortal world for all of eternity as an immortal so you can suffer for all time, " With that said, he summoned his bolt and shot a lightning blast at Percy while the Olympians chant. Percy screamed as pain wracked his body and he disappeared in a burst of light.

Mysterious man POV

Ah, finally. After years of my essence being dispersed in Tartarus, it feels good to be in my own body. After convincing a demigod to take my essence I then took my true form and spared the half-blood. (No, I'm not always cruel. I've learnt from my mistakes ) That demigod is now my commander. His name is Jake. And I did all of this under those foolish Gods' noses.

Suddenly there is a burst of light. I grip my weapon, a scythe, and prepare to attack.

When the light fades I see a boy lying unconscious on the ground. It was Perseus Jackson! I chuckle under my breath. The gods would betray even their hero! Typical. They betrayed their father aka me. They can toss away their heroes and get a new one. I thought of destroying him then and there. But he was betrayed by the gods. He must be wanting to take revenge against them now. I made my decision. I scooped him up, bridal style, and flashed to my secret base
