. . . . .

Tristan slowed his run to a stop as a blue convertible drove up to him and Serenity. He shifted Serenity on his back to make sure she wouldn't fall.

"Hey beautiful. You look like you could use some help." Duke partially leaned against the car door. He held onto Mokuba's arm with his far hand. Next to him, Mokuba pouted with his arms folded.

"Oh, it's you." Tristan rolled his eyes.

"I don't mean you, nimrod." Duke laughed.

"Who is that, Tristan?" Serenity spoke with a trembling voice.

Tristan looked at them. "Don't worry. It's Duke, Mokuba and Mai."

"Those are Joey's friends, right? It's hard to remember everyone just by their voices."

"Uh huh. You're doing a good job, Serenity. " Tristan affirmed. "You guys are a sight for sore eyes. Even the mom jeans, Mai. Speaking of which, how you driving an 'I don't plan on having kids' vehicle, but you wearing mom jeans? What's up with that?"

Mai scoffed, "Shut it, Tristan."

Serenity giggled. "I'm sure both Mai and her car work well together fashion wise."

"Thank you, sweetheart." Mai gushed. "Now, could you both get into this car? I'm burning gas."

"And your duel disk is saying we're about to be ambushed again." Mokuba pouted.

"What the hell's up with these guys chasing us, anyway? They jumped us in the hospital." Tristan set Serenity up in the front seat next to Mai, and set the backpack he put on her before picking her up in her lap. He ran around to the far back seat next to Mokuba. He hopped in by jumping over the side.

"We only got out because of our Security Detail." Serenity sounded confused as she ran her fingers across the fabric of the bag.

"They're a subset of Marik's gang, the Ghouls. These guys are Rare Hunters." Mai explained as she hit the gas, and sped down the street. "Normally they shake down people for their rare dueling cards, but recently they've gained a taste for people."

"Ew. That's horrible." Serenity pouted.

"So, what's the current status?" Tristan turned around in his seat. A suspicious car seemed to be keeping pace with them, no matter how many turns and twists Mai took.

"Is that a good idea with Serenity here?" Duke asked.

"I-it's fine. I-I know about Joey."

"Dude!" Duke looked at him.

"Serenity," Tristan cocked his gun. A second vehicle showed up behind the first, but something hit its tires, sending it into a spin. "You know those bulky headphones I put on your head before?"

"But I couldn't hear anything with those on." She whined. "It's scary."

Mokuba looked at Tristan in surprise. He tried to twist in his seat to see what he was looking at, but he couldn't with Duke holding onto him.

"Yea, I know, darling. But I told you about Joey when you asked why he wasn't in any duels, right? And we'll be here right with you." Tristan lined up his shot. The driver of the vehicle behind Mai's car gave him the middle finger.

Serenity huffed. "Okay."

"It's right on top. You should feel it while opening the bag."

In the time it took her to put them on, with Duke's help, two more cars arrived. Serenity folded her hands on top of the bag like a perfect princess. Mokuba took his moment of freedom to turn around.

"Uh, are you really his, you know?" Mai asked. "Because those aren't headphones."

"Whose you know?" Two loud bangs ran out when Tristan fired his shots. "Put your goddamn head down Mokuba."

Mokuba huffed, and ducked his head. "But I wanted to see."

"Joey's? Jounouchi?" Mai's hands clenched around the wheel.

"Sharpshooter Honda, second to Jumping Jounouchi Katsuya at your service, ma'am." Tristan fired a few more shots. The front tire of the car behind them blew out and the vehicle spun out to a stop. "Gottem!"

"Engineer my ass." Duke muttered.

Tristan scoffed. "Let you try this. Your porno model ass doesn't know how much math it took to make that shot."

Duke tossed up a handful of dice and threw them in succession. A rare hunter on a motorcycle swerved past the stopped car, only to have a die hit hard enough to break the glass of the helmet they were wearing and three more dice smack them in the forehead in three different spots. Their head jerked back like they had been punched.

Duke gave Tristan a no nonsense look. "That took math. You just practiced at a shooting range."

The rare hunter crashed their motorcycle into someone's poor parked car.

"Geeze, hope that guy has good insurance." Mai muttered.

Tristan gave him a look of disbelief. "What the hell was that?"

Duke smirked. "A Dungeon Dice Trade secret."

Mokuba smacked a hand to his forehead while laughing. "Duke, that is not the proper use of the term 'loaded dice'."

Both Tristan and Duke pushed his head back down.
