Hello hello hello! Welcome back to another exciting chapter of Turtles and Benders! It feels so good to be back on here again and to post another chapter to this story after its two year hiatus. TWO YEARS! That is way too long in my opinion, but as you all have hopefully read in my update I was going through a lot of sh*t in my life which caused me to be away for so long. However, I am back in action and ready to go at it once again.
***Two things that I want to quickly address before we begin are these: first, "A Megatropolis Love Story". This is a story that I have recently brought back after some of you wanted to see it again, but now I have a new idea in mind that I will address at the end of the chapter, so be sure to stick around for that. Two, I have a couple of ideas for a Sonic the Hedgehog story that I want to do in the future, but I can't decide which one I want to do first; I'll list the ideas at the end of the chapter and have you all vote for which one you like in the review.
Anyway, with that said let's get this ball rolling! For this chapter I wanted to do something similar to the chapter after Leo and Verena got together, but it's a tad different because of the extra characters. So, I give you all the next chapter! I do not own TMNT, only my OCs. Enjoy:)!

Chapter 11: Patrol with the Benders
Sasha's P.O.V.:
*RING! RING! RING!*
I hear my phone go off on the nightstand, sounding like a very loud alarm clock waking me up from my peaceful sleep. Ugh, so annoying. Wait a minute! It's probably Don! I quickly sit up in bed, scaring poor Chief awake and picking up my phone in my hand. Good Gods, this is so exciting! I am very close to screaming like a little girl over this call. Chief senses my hyper behavior and lies down on my legs so I can calm down and not sound like a crazy person on the phone. My giant furball knows me so well. Always there for me when I need him the most.
Before I answer the call I begin to feel my heart flutter in my chest, causing me to giggle form the slight tickling sensation. I think back to last night and remember every little detail, and I especially picture Don in my head. What he did for me last night was so special, sweet, the most romantic date I will ever have in my life. Well technically our lives if you really think about it. Alright, I better answer the call before it goes to voicemail. I take a very deep breath… and finally answer Don.
"Good morning, Sasha." He says to me in a loving tone that makes my heart almost burst out of my chest.
"Good morning to you too, Don." I said in a cheerful tone as I attempt to keep it together, "You weren't joking when you said you would call."
He chuckles as I hear him type over the phone, "Well I always keep my promises. How are you?"
"Oh, I am just fantastic now that I get to hear you. How about you?" I ask as I rub Chief's head.
"Great. I'm doing some work in the lab and taking some time to listen to that gorgeous voice of yours."
"Aww, that is so sweet. You would take the time off of your work to call me?"
I hear him chuckle again, "Of course I would. Sasha, you are worth all the time in the world."
I giggle as he makes me melt, "I'm sorry for laughing, but that was the sweetest thing I have ever heard."
"Don't be, and besides I love your laugh. It's lovely, just like you." He said and stops typing.
I smile big as Chief jumps off the bed to drink some water out of his bowl, "Thank you. I will be by today after I have lunch with my parents, is that fine with you Don?"
"Absolutely. You're more than welcome into the Lair anytime you like. You don't need to ask for permission."
"I know, but it is the polite thing to do." I am about to tell him something else until Chief walks back in with his leash in his mouth, "I better go. Chief needs to be taken out for a walk."
"Okay. I'll see you later." He said.
"Alright. Oh and Don?"
"Yeah?"
"… I love you." I said as I feel my cheeks become warm, no doubt I am blushing.
"I love you too, Sasha. Bye."
"Bye." I tell him and he hangs up.
My Gods, Don is just so… amazing. This must be what my mother felt when she fell in love with my father all those years ago. I would not even know how to describe it. The feeling of being in love is a mysterious thing. What I do know is that love is so wonderful, and it really makes you see a different side of life, one that makes the world seem bright. If only life was like this all the time then everything would be at peace. Oh well…
Anyway, I get up out of bed and change into some comfy workout clothes so I can walk Chief around the neighborhood. The girls are going to meet me downstairs as they want to hear about everything that happened last night down to the very last detail. They are so nosey. Then again I would be too if either one of them was in a relationship.
Once I finish putting my hair up in a ponytail I take Chief's leash and we make our way downstairs to meet our friends. When I make it to the entrance I see Sovi and Kea outside chatting with each other as they stretch out their legs before we leave. I step out the door and they immediately smile at me as I meet them down the steps.
"Hey there Palms!" Sovi says and gives me a hug, "How are you, Honey?"
"I'm doing well. How about you two?" I ask as I hug Kea next.
"Oh we're fine. You know, just eagerly waiting for you to spill the juicy details from your date last night." She said and we start to walk.
I playfully roll my eyes at them, "I figured you would say that. So, what would you like to know?"
"Everything!" They said at the same time.
"And don't leave out anything." Kea said in a very excited tone.
I laugh, "Alright already! Geez, remind me to do this to you after your first date." I have Chief walk in front of me as the girls move closer to me, "Last night was very… interesting. Don picked me up at my apartment, gave me flowers, and we left to the park where he had everything set up."
"Aww! That's so cute!" Kea cooed cheerfully.
"What did he have out?" Sovi asks.
"Don had dinner set up with some candles-"
"Which is romantic." Sovi interrupts.
"And we were telling each other more about ourselves-"
"That's always good." Kea cuts in this time.
'Then he has me follow him to the Bank Rock Bridge where he had so many candles lit in jars on the bridge and around him under a tree, and he sang me a song." I pause for a moment as I feel my heart flutter and I smile, "After he was done… we confessed our feelings for each other, and…"
"And what?! And what?!" Kea gets hyper as she wants to hear what I have to say.
I smile and once again feel my heart flutter, "He took me into his arms and kissed me under the tree."
"HE DID WHAT?!" The girls shouted, no doubt waking up everyone from here to New Jersey.
I laugh at their reaction, "Yes my friends, I am happy to say as of last night Don and I became a couple."
"Yay!" Kea squeezes me tight as she jumps up and down like a crazy person, "Oh Palms I'm so happy for you!"
"Same here! Congrats to the both of you for finally getting together." Sovi said and hugs me tight as well.
"Thank you." I tell them as I am filled with so much joy from all of the love I am receiving.
During our walk around the neighborhood the girls continued to ask questions about Don and I being together and how I felt about the whole thing. In all honesty I could not be any happier than I am now. Having Don a part of my life in this special way is so wonderful that it makes me have hope for our future together. A hope where we can be together forever. Just thinking about it is making my heart flutter again.
About an hour into our walk, Sovi and I lead Kea down a different way to a very special surprise waiting for her. In the past few days we have talked to Mr. and Mrs. Kealoha into getting their daughter a very special present to cheer her up. Of course Sovi and I would agree to take her there to receive it since her parents cannot, but they did buy the gift. As soon as we step in front of the pet shop Kea gives us a confused look.
"Hey, I thought we were heading over to the cafe for some coffee." She says and immediately gets suspicious.
"Oh we are, but we need to pick something up first." I tell her so she can ease up a little.
"… Okay." We walk into the shop and head up to the register, "What exactly are we picking up?"
"A present." Sovi answers with a tiny grin planted on her lips as I quickly tell the cashier about our pick up.
Kea sees the cashier walk to the back and looks at us, "For who?"
When the cashier returns Sovi turns her around, "For you."
The look on Kea's face was so priceless that I started recording it on my phone for her parents to see later on. There, in the cashier's hands was a five month old Corgi puppy. This little cutie is so tiny with its light brown and white fur, pointy ears, dark eyes, and the sweetest face looking right at Kea. Our friend had tears run down her cheeks when she sees the puppy, and right as she holds it in her arms she kisses it and hugs it close to her. We have often heard stories about Kea and Raiden loving animals back in Australia and how they would pet sit for their neighbors, so for her parents it was a no brainer to get their child a puppy to raise as her own. I think this little one will be a great addition to the Kealoha family.
Kea holds it up to her face and smiles at the puppy as it snuggles and licks her face, "Hello there you sweet little thing."
"Do you like your surprise, Kea?" I ask holding the phone close to her.
"Oh I love it!" She exclaims kissing the puppy on the head.
"Well I'm happy to hear that you love this little girl, Miss Kealoha." The cashier said going to the register.
"It's a girl?" Kea asks.
"That's right. Your parents said that you would fall in love with this one, so we've been holding her for you." The cashier answers and types away on the computer, "They've also went ahead and named her for you."
"Really? What's her name?" She asks as she strokes the kitten's fur.
"Your parents said that when you heard this name, you will always have a piece of your brother with you in that little baby. So they decided to name her Rayne." He said as he showed her the papers with the puppy's name on it.
Kea smiles down at the puppy and sheds a single tear, "Rayne… I love it. It's perfect."
The cashier hands her a couple of giant bags, "Now here is everything you'll need for Rayne along with her medical records in the folder." A printer prints out a page and the cashier brings it to the desk, "All we need from you is your signature and she's all yours."
While still holding the puppy, Kea goes over and signs the paper as Sovi and I take the bags. The cashier wishes us a good day as we thank him for all his help. Once we leave the pet shop we go over to the café for a cup of coffee to celebrate this joyous occasion. As we are waiting for our drinks outside at a table, Sovi and I looked as Kea holding little Rayne and giving her so many kisses and hugs like a mother would do to their newborn baby. So precious! In my honest opinion pets are the best thing in the world because they are full of lover, they're fun to play with, and they always comfort you on your worse days. It just brings a smile to my face as I pet Chief on his head while he watches Rayne from his spot. I think he's growing a soft spot for the little angel.
So for the rest of our time here at the café I plan on enjoying myself with my best friends before I have to go back home and get ready for lunch with my parents. This is turning out to be a relaxing day.
A Couple Hours Later…
The Lair…
Leo's P.O.V.:
This morning has been so nice and relaxing. Normally we would have a long training session, but for today sensei decided to cut it short and give us some more time to ourselves. Don't get me wrong I like it every now and then, but I'm so used to constantly train that a slow day feels weird. The only thing that's been exciting this morning was Don telling us that he and Sasha have become a couple. You have no idea how happy we were to hear that come out of his mouth, especially Mikey with him squeezing the life out of our intelligent brother, literally. I knew deep down in my shell that Don and Sasha would end up together, I mean if you really look at how they interact with each other they are like the same person. A perfect match. My brothers, Verena, and I could not be any happier for Don, after all he deserves a girl as special as Sasha and now he has her.
Speaking of a special girl I'm on my way to see mine right now. I just finished my morning meditation while Verena was going to be busy writing down more of what she has seen in her nightmares into the journal Don gave her a while back. Ever since she started having the nightmares again the journal seems to be working out for her in a way that she won't have to bottle up every detail and hide it. Not only that but I have also been meditating with Verena to help ease her mind so she won't get too overwhelmed, and that really relaxes her. I would do anything to make Verena happy, and if she's happy then I am too. As long as I can keep her smiling that's all that matters.
Anyway, I reach the door to Verena's room and hear her lightly humming a song that can be heard from outside. I open the door and watch as she brushes her curly hair in front of the mirror, wearing her usual dress like she always does, and her engagement ring glittering from the light. When I see her wear the ring, it immediately puts a smile on my face. I shut the door, lock it, and walk to her while she smiles at me from the mirror as she sets her brush down on the table.
"Hey there, Beautiful." I greet her as I kiss her cheek from behind.
"Hi, My Handsome Turtle." She says and pecks my lips, "How was your meditation?"
"It was fine. How about your writing?" I ask her.
She sits at her desk and opens her journal, having me read some of it, "It's been good so far, but every time I get to the end of each entry I try to describe the monster and I can't. There is something about it that looks familiar, but I don't know what that is yet." Verena lets out a frustrated sigh and places her face in her hands as her elbows rest on the desk, "I'm sorry, Leo. I feel like I am not being that much help with this going on."
"Verena, don't talk like that." I tell her as I lean down to hug her, "You have been giving your best effort in all of this, that's all we can ask for. I know this is difficult, but trust me when I tell you that you have nothing to be sorry for. If there is anyone that can pull through this, it's you. So please, don't give up on yourself yet. I know deep down inside that you will figure it out, and when you do all of us can work on how to stop this monster."
Verena slowly lifts her head up and stands up from the chair, facing me with a blank look on her face. I know that look all too well, she is definitely thinking through what she heard as she absorbs my words. All of a sudden she wraps her arms around my neck as I wrap mine around her waist. She lifts her head and shows me that breath-taking smile of hers, causing me to smile as well.
"Thank you, Leo." She says to me with a slightly hushed tone.
"You're welcome, Verena." I said and kiss her forehead.
She cups my cheek and has me look at her, "Please, promise me one thing. Promise me that no matter what happens, we will always remain by each other's side. Standing together hand in hand. Fighting and conquering any obstacle that comes our way."
I nod and caress her cheek, "I made that promise to you a long time ago, Verena, and there is no way I'm backing out now. My heart, my promise, and my love will always belong to you."
"As does my heart, my promise, and my love." She leans closer to my face as I lower my head to hers, "I love you, Leo."
I let my forehead touch hers, "I love you too, Verena, always."
In that moment, we seal our promise to each other with a loving kiss, letting the silence once again fill the room.
Later…
Verena's P.O.V.:
"Mikey!" I call him from the kitchen as he comes in on his skateboard, "Would you mind giving me a hand with the cake in the fridge while I finish washing these strawberries?"
"No problem, Sis! Chef Mikey, reporting for duty!" He salutes me as he sets his skateboard off to the side.
"Thanks, Mikey, you're a life saver."
"Sure thing." Mikey said and sets the cake on the counter for me, "Are you making your strawberry layer cake?"
I nod and put the berries next to the cake and whip cream I made earlier, "Yes I am. You know how much Shadow loves strawberries."
"Yeah, and cake too. I don't blame her, all the things you cook are good." Mikey says as he stirs the cream.
"Aww, thank you Mikey. You know, I'm not the only one that makes delicious food. Everything you cook is amazing." I compliment him back.
"Thanks V!" He said and hugs me, "Do you need help with anything else?"
"Actually, I was going to ask if you wanted to help me put the cake together." I tell him separating the two cakes.
"Really? You want me to help you make it?" He asks in disbelief.
"Absolutely! I don't mind it at all."
"Okay!"
During our time in the kitchen I was showing him what to do with the layers of cake and how Shadow likes it. Mikey passed everything with flying colors. I mean he is a natural when it comes to cooking in the kitchen. Sometimes we even have our best conversations while we cook, sharing things that he doesn't tell his brothers. Most of the time they aren't that serious, instead they are the funniest memories Mikey has had with them when they were children. What we love to talk about now is either the girls or Shadow. You see, several months ago April and Casey were trying to have a baby of their own to start their family. However, they were having some difficulties and when they went to their doctor it turned out that April could not conceive. So, they went to the next best thing and adopted Shadow as their own. I swear that little girl has brought nothing but joy to this family, she is perfect in every way.
Right as Mikey was putting on the last few strawberries we hear the doors to the Lair open and the guys greeting our guests. Mikey and I leave the kitchen and see April, Casey, and Shadow walk in with big smiles on their faces and hugging everyone. When Leo picks up Shadow in his arms and kisses her head, I instantly smile big thinking about having our own children. Picturing them with their father playing together, and being the happy family Leo and I have dreamed of. The big question is will it be possible for us to have children?
"Veri! Veri!" Shadow's voice breaks through my thoughts as she runs to me, giggling as she calls me.
I lift her up in my arms and kiss her cheek, "Oh, Shadow! It is so good to see you, Sweetheart!"
"You too!" She said as I set her down so she can hug Mikey.
April comes up next with Casey and gives me a hug, "Hey! Congratulations on your engagement!"
"Aw thank you April!" I said and Casey grabs Leo and squeezes him in a bear hug.
"It's about time you two decided to get hitched." Casey jokes.
"And if you guys need help with anything for the wedding, please let us know. We'd be happy to help you out." April said as Leo wraps his arm around my waist.
"Thanks guys." Leo said.
Just then we heard the doors open again, and out of the entry way we see the girls appear. They seem to be all dressed up for dinner tonight, especially Sasha; although she always dresses up for every occasion. Then again, she's probably all excited to see Donnie.
"Hi everyone!" Layla says.
"Hey girls! What's up?!" Mikey asks as he gives Layla a tight hug.
"Nothing much. We're just happy to finally be here after a long day." Cheryl said.
I see Sasha look around then back at us, "Where's Don?"
"Oh! He's in the garage checking on the Battle Shell." I tell her, "I'm sure he won't mind you dropping in to see him."
"Yes, of course. I'll be right back then." Sasha said and makes her way to the garage.
"And one more thing before I forget, Sasha." I get her attention and have her face me, "Congratulations on you and Donnie getting together."
Sasha blushes and touches her cheek, "T-Thank you." Once she says that she leaves the rest of us to head to the garage to see Donnie.
Donnie's P.O.V.:
I have been working on the Battle Shell for the past hour to make sure that everything is up and running good, mostly the battery. Don't get me wrong, I know Raph and Cheryl fixed it up and got it to run smoothly, but I also want to check on it as well. I would have done it yesterday after I got home, but I was just so love struck that I forgot all about it. Last night was one of the best nights of my life. Everything was perfect, and in the end it was all worth it. I can see how Leo felt after he and Verena got together, and being with Sasha makes me feel whole. I know it sounds so cliché, but my life wouldn't be complete without Sasha in it. That's how much she means to me and I love her.
"Don! Are you in here?" Speaking of Sasha, I hear her call me as I finish checking on the battery.
I lift my head so she can see me and she immediately gets excited, "I'm over here, Sasha."
I see her walk over to me in a nice white collar blouse and a long yellow dress skirt while her turquoise pendant sits on her neck perfectly. She looks so beautiful today. What am I saying, she looks beautiful every day.
Sasha waves at me, "Hi there, Love!"
When she gets close to me I give her a hug, "Hey! How are you?"
"I am better now that I get to be with you." She said and kissed my cheek.
I hold her hand and we walk over to my work desk, "So, I'm guessing everyone is here already?"
She nods, "We just got here along with your other friends and their daughter. They seem to be really nice people."
"Yeah, they are. We've been friends with April and Casey for a long time, and Shadow has been great to have around. I swear that little girl is the sweetest child you'll ever meet, and she's just as smart as her mom." I tell her as I clean up the desk, "Anyway, how was your lunch with your parents?"
"Oh it was fine. Unfortunately we had to cut it short because my parents had emergencies at the hospital." She said as she leans on the desk with one hand.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
Sasha shakes her head and giggles, "You do not have to apologize, Don, these emergencies calls happen all the time. I am just happy that I get to be here with all my friends and you."
I chuckle as I wrap my arms around her waist, "Have I ever told you how much I love you?"
She smiles and wraps her arms around my neck, "Yes you have, and I love you too."
I stare deeply into Sasha's eyes and see the same glow in them like last night, a loving glow that only she can show me. Sasha slowly closes her eyes and leans her head forward, meeting my lips in a gentle kiss as I also shut my eyes to savor this moment. I drag my hand to the back of her head carefully and push her face into mine more, deepening our kiss. She angles her head to the right as she shyly rubs her tongue on my bottom lip, making me chuckle and I open my mouth to welcome it with my own. I can't get over her doing that, it's cute how shy she gets when trying to open up to me. Always trying to be polite. However, I have an idea to help her get over her shyness.
In a matter of seconds I move my hands to her waist and lift her up to sit on my desk, then I use my arm to push off my work as I hear it land on the floor, not caring for it at the moment. With everything clear I have her lay back onto the desk as I place my hand behind her head before it touches the wood. Sasha pulls away from me and looks into my eyes, and I instantly this I went overboard. Then I see her give me a beautiful smile and she grips the back of my head, ramming her lips on mine for a passionate kiss. It looks like my idea worked after all.
I leave her lips and travel down to her neck to give it some attention, causing Sasha to squirm a little as I can tell she is ticklish from my kisses. I move to the crook of her neck and take my sweet time kissing her skin to drive her crazy, and I receive breathy moans as a sign that it's working. All of a sudden I switch from the delicate kisses to sucking on her neck with my tongue brushing along her smooth skin. Sasha moans more as her chest presses against mine and her hands rub my head in a soothing pattern. A few minutes later I move back up to her and lock our lips into a heated kiss. Our arms wrap around each other tight as we embrace and cherish every single second of this time we have together.
After a while we disconnect our lips to get some much needed air back into our lungs. I open my eyes and look down at Sasha, who has a big smile planted on the gorgeous face of hers as I return the smile. This woman is so breathtaking, so angelic, so beautiful. There is nothing I wouldn't do for my girl that I would give my life for her. She is my everything, my angel, my love.
Meanwhile…
Raph's P.O.V.:
After Sasha left to the garage to see Don, the rest of us were catchin' up with April and Casey with what's been going on while they were away, and they tell us about their time with Casey's mom. It seems like they had a great time, especially Shadow after spending time with her grandma. I'm just glad to have her back home with us. Whenever April and Casey come over with Shadow, everything seems to be at peace. She can make any bad day a good one with her bubbly, care-free personality, knowing what makes us feel better every time. We always have a lot of fun with Shadow, and I can't imagine our lives without her.
What I didn't expect to happen was Shadow run over to Cheryl and give her a hug, saying that she missed her when she was away. I had no clue that they knew each other! How is that even possible? When I asked her about it she told me that she and Casey have known each other since she was a kid, apparently her cousins and him go way back when they were growing up in the neighborhood. Leave it to that bonehead to never tell me all the good stuff. Then again, she never once heard about me from Casey. Oh well, no use getting bent outta shape now.
I am about to ask her something else until I see Shadow playing around with Layla's new pup. Leave it to Shadow to make friends with everyone she meets, especially animals. Chery puts her hand on my shoulder and motions her head to where Layla and Mikey are as they watch Shadow and the pup play. Layla's getting a kick out of watching the cute scene in front of us while Mikey is too busy lookin' at her. Man, he's got it bad. Personally, I don't blame him one bit. After all, Layla is pretty much a girl version of Mikey in the way she acts, makes us laugh, and knowing what can makes her friends smile. Mikey definitely picked a good one.
"Isn't it cute?" Cheryl says in a whisper so only I can hear.
I nod, "Yeah. A little too cute for my likin', but it's fun to watch."
"You're not wrong there." She leans closer to my ear slit, "Perhaps the Gods will let their relationship bloom a lot sooner than they think."
I turn my head towards Cheryl's, staring deep into her emerald green eyes, "Guess we'll just have to wait and see."
We stop our conversation as we see Layla walk up to Shadow and kneel down so her pup can sit in her arms. Shadow suddenly gets nervous as she stops gigglin' and looks at Layla and her pet, not knowing what to do. I see Mikey behind Shadow as he wants to step in and calm her nerves, but before he makes a move Layla beats him to it.
"Would you like to pet her?" She asks Shadow, but she doesn't move, "It's alright, Sweetie. Don't be scared of me." Layla says, easing Shadow a bit as she walks to her and pets the pup, "Rayne has taken quite a liking to you."
"Is that her name?" Shadow asks as the pup- I mean Rayne licks her hands making her giggle come back.
"It sure is." Layla smiles down as she sits criss cross on the floor so Rayne can be comfortable in her lap, "Your name is Shadow, right?"
"Uh huh! What's your name?" Shadow asks feeling much better.
"My name is Layla."
"That's a nice name."
Layla laughs making Shadow laugh with her, "Thank you. You have a very lovely name too."
"Thanks!" Shadow says and has Rayne cuddle against her legs as she sits with Layla on the floor. She sees Mikey standing by watching them and calls him over, "Uncle Mikey, sit with us!"
"Nah it's okay, Shadow. I don't want to be in the way of all your fun." He says trying to be polite and not spoil the moment.
"Oh you won't be in the way, right Miss Layla?" She asks her, turning her way.
"Not at all. You are more than welcome to join us, Mikey." Layla tells him.
"Well…," He thinks it over, but Shadow gets up and tugs on his arm pullin' him to them, "Okay! Okay! I'll join you!"
"Yay!" Shadow cheers as they sit together playing with Rayne. Before Cheryl and I leave to give them privacy, Shadow says something to Mikey that makes us smirk, "You're really pretty, Miss Layla. Isn't she, Uncle Mikey?"
Cheryl and I turn around to hear what he says as he's too shy to look at Layla, "... No."
Layla is shocked to hear this and stares at him confused, "I-I'm not?"
"No, you're not." He then looks up at her and smiles, "You're beautiful."
She gasps and blushes hard, "You think I'm beautiful?"
"I don't have to think that you're beautiful because I already know you are. You always will be." He said and goes back to playing with Shadow.
"Mikey…," Layla gets his attention for a moment and smiles back, "thank you."
He nods at her and they both begin to play with Shadow and Rayne. While they all have their fun, Cheryl and I leave the living room to check up on dinner and see what everyone else is doing. Yup, he's definitely has got it bad. I just hope Mikey makes his move soon, for his and Layla's sake.
Few Hours Later…
Cheryl's P.O.V.:
Well tonight has certainly been eventful. Not only did Don and Sasha come out as a couple, but I sense that a new one is about to begin. In case you all are wondering who that may be, I am of course talking about Mikey and Kea. They are so in love with each other that they're about ready to burst. We all know that they want to tell each other, but the problem is that both of them are extremely shy to say anything. I can't say I blame them. I mean it's nerve-wracking enough to have a crush on someone, but to say the three magic words that everyone dreams about saying and hearing, that's like a life and death situation. From what I've been seeing from Mikey and Kea, they are trying to be considerate of the others feelings, mostly Mikey if you think about it. All I want is for them to be happy, hell we all do. Mikey and Kea are meant to be together, whether they see it or not, it's true. Here's to wishing them the best of luck for when they do decide to say it.
Anyway, after April, Casey, and Shadow left to go home the girls and I invited the guys and Verena to go patrol the city for Purple Dragons. We haven't heard anything from those idiots in a while, which is odd considering that they don't stay this quiet for long. Hopefully with more people joining us, we can find them faster, figure out what they've been doing, and stop them.
We land at the top of this one building near a high tech warehouse, and we can immediately see a giant truck parked in the alley. The warehouse door lifts open and a few Purple Dragons come out with carts full of heavy crates as they wheel them to the truck. One of them trips and falls on the ground making the crates he had tip over and break, revealing all sorts of advanced weapons from blasters to heavy duty missiles. These thugs can't be allowed to leave with all that stuff. Imagine all of the harm they can cause with weapons like that. We gotta take them out.
"What's the plan?" Kea asks.
"Simple, we pick them off one by one, and then we strike." Leo said as he observes them from down below, "Raph and Mikey, take Sasha and Verena with you to knock out the guards while the rest of us keep an eye on the others."
"Sounds good to me. Let's roll!" Red says and he along with Mikey, Verena, and Palms jump down.
"Cheryl, do you think you can pin down the truck with your earth-bending?" Leo asks me.
I look at the truck, and crack my knuckles, "No problem. Just leave it to me."
I focus all of my energy into the earth and carefully push it up in front of the tires. While this may be an easy task I need to keep in mind all of the Purple Dragons that are constantly walking pass the truck, hence why I'm being super cautious. There is a moment where one of them almost sees the spikes I've created, but then he just shrugs and goes back to helping load the stuff. Once it's all clear I get the spikes in their places and release my bending magic.
"I did all I can do from here, Leo. They won't be going anywhere if they try to drive out of here." I tell him as we see Sasha whack a guy with her spear and drag him behind a dumpster.
"Good work, Cheryl." He said as Mikey and Raph take out two more dragons, "Now we just have to wait for the others to finish their part and then we can deal with the rest of the Purple Dragons." After Verena finishes off her guy she signals us to come down, "Let's go."
The rest of us jump off of the roof and land in back of the truck where the others were hiding. I look at Verena and we both smirk at each other, having the same idea pop into our heads. We use our earth-bending to levitate rocks into the air and throw them straight at the Purple Dragons, knocking two of them out on their heads. The others start to freak out and point their guns in different directions as they try to figure out what happened. Some chick with green hair walks too close to where we are and Layla quickly jumps from her hiding spot and kicks her in the face, causing her to fly back and have the other Purple Dragons face us. We join Layla a second later and in a fighting stance with our weapons at the ready.
"You know it's not nice to steal in Mr. Raphie's Neighborhood." Red says as she twirls his sais.
"So why don't you all be good little boys and girls and put those toys back where they belong." I tell them as we take a few steps forward.
A bald headed guy with an eye patch moves to the front of the gang, who I'm guessing is in charge of this whole thing, "Like we're really going to listen to a bunch of mutant freaks and four broads. Once we get these weapons back to Master Hun, we will tear you all to pieces." He pulls out his gun and looks to his band of idiots in back of him, "Purple Dragons, let's bust 'em up!"
They all charge at us with their guns and other weapons pointed our way, and all we can do id smile at each other. Gods these Purple Dragons are so stupid. When they get close enough, all of us separate and take on a few of them each. Two guys run towards me and try to hit me with metal nightsticks, but I was quick enough to dodge them with my butterfly swords. I push their nightsticks back, flip into a handstand, and kick them both in their teeth. I hear a blaster shot from behind me and flip again into the air and land on my feet to see it was another guy with his covered in dragon tattoos. He fires off several rounds at me as I dodge them by moving out of the way and with my swords, doing my best to not get shot. His blaster soon overheats and he stops, causing me to use my earth-bending to bind him within my grasp and toss him at the truck and knock him out.
I turn around to see the bald leader try to run to the fire escape, but I cut him off with one of my swords pointed at him. He gives me a weird grin that confuses me, until he pulls out his knife and swings it close to my throat. I block it just in time, but this bald-headed bastard kicks me hard in the stomach, grabs my arm, and tosses me over to his shoulder to the ground. I rub my head and see him jump up the ladder on the fire escape.
"He's making a break for it!" I yell out as I try to stand up.
Layla sees him and puts her hook blades away, "I got him!"
"Kea! Wait for one of us to go with you!" I hear Palms say as I see our water-bender friend already on the fire escape catching up to him.
"Damn it Kea!" That stubborn water guardian.
Verena jumps over to me as she blocks a blaster shot with her sword, "We have to help Layla stop that guy before he gets away."
I punch a girl in the face as we fight side by side, "I know but how? There's too many of them for all of us to handle."
"Guys!" We hear Mikey call us after he finishes whacking a couple of guys with his nunchucks, "I can go up to the roof and help Layla catch him!"
"You sure, bro?" Red asks while blocking a few hits with his sais.
"Yeah! I'll take care of him while you guys keep the others busy." Mikey says as I can tell right away that he wants to check up on Kea.
"Okay, Mikey, but be careful! We'll regroup with you and Layla as soon as we're done with these goons!" Leo said as he split kicks two of the dragons.
Mikey jumps up, climbs the ladder, and gives his brother a thumbs up, "You got it, Leo!"
With that said, Mikey reaches the roof and goes to help Layla catch the jackass that gave me the cheap shot and ran. I hope Kea will be okay. Yes, she's a big girl and can take care of herself, but I still worry about her and Palms. They're the closest thing baby sisters I've ever had, and I don't want them getting hurt. I won't let anyone cause them any harm, not while I'm still kicking. As soon as we finish these guys, we will rush up to Mikey and Kea to help them out.
Meanwhile…
Mikey's P.O.V.:
I'm so glad Leo let me go by myself to be with Layla. I am, no joke, really worried about her. There's no telling what that bald Purple Dragon could do to her, and I need to reach her before something bad happens. I pull out my nunchucks in case baldy pops up to give another cheap hit. There's just one little problem, I don't see that guy or Layla anywhere. It's almost like they disappeared.
"Layla?" I call her name as I slowly look around for her, "Where are you?"
Nothing. Now I know something's not right. As I walk a couple more steps I hear the sound of somebody walking from behind an old shack. It's that Purple Dragon leader, and it look like he has something in his arms. What I saw next really made me angry. There in his arms… was Layla, scared to death and trying to escape.
"Well, it's about time one of you decided to show up." He laughs low near Layla's ear as she cringes, "Don't you think, Doll?"
"Mikey!" Layla says my name, sounding like she's on the verge of tears.
"Layla!" I stare straight at this jerk and spin one of my nunchucks, "Let her go!"
"Fat chance, freak. Besides," He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a heavy duty taser, "she's a lot of fun to play with."
He sticks the taser to her side and holds down the button, a bright light of electricity covering her body as he's shocking her in his arms. Layla screams out from all of the pain he is causing her as she still tries to get away from him. My blood is boiling so bad and all I want to do right now is rip this guy's head off for hurting her. I try to run over and stop him, but he stops shocking Layla and points the taser to her neck making me freeze.
"Ah ah ah, you come any closer and this pretty young thing will be shocked to a crisp." He threatens me as he steps back, moving closer to the edge on the other side.
"You don't have to do this." I tell him as I follow him to where he's going, "Just let my friend go and face me."
He chuckles as he's finally next to the edge, "Not in a million years." He presses down on the button and shocks Layla again for a few moments, smiling as she's screaming, "Tonight may have been a complete bust, but at least I won't go back to Master Hun empty handed."
"That's it!" I yell out and act.
I pull out a shuriken as fast as I can before he can get the chance to shock Layla again, and throw it at him. Lucky for me it stabs him in the hand and he drops the taser, but he still has a grip on Layla. As he tries to shake the blade out of his skin I take out my other nunchuck and sprint over to them. I smack him in the face with my weapons hard enough to make him stumble as he's losing his hold on Layla. If I can hit him a couple more times then she can make a break for it before he gets her. When I go to attack, the Purple Dragon smirks at me and tosses Layla over the edge and off the roof.
"LAYLA!" I yell out to her as I hear her scream.
I look back at the dirt bag leader that threw her off the roof, and I see nothing but red. Without even thinking I tackle him to the ground and punch him several times in the face, knocking out cold so the others can handle him. As much as I really want to hurt him, I need to save Layla. She's the only reason why this guy is still breathing. I look over the edge and see her holding onto another roof with one hand, struggling to lift herself up.
I put my weapons away and lean on the edge, keeping my eyes on her, "Layla!"
She looks up behind her and sees me, "Mikey! Help me!"
"Hang on, Layla! I'm coming down!" I tell her and jump off the building to another as I make my way to her.
"Please hurry! My fingers are slipping!" I hear her say, sounding like she's crying.
I make it to her building and run to her, "I'm almost there!" I jump towards her hand to grab it, nut she loses her grip and falls, "No!"
"AAHHH!" She screams as she looks at me.
I dive off the building and straighten my body out so I can go faster to reach her. I manage to catch her in my arms as she wraps her arms tight around my neck, and I put my arms around her waist. There must be something I can use to get us to safety, anything. It was then I noticed a clothesline right in the center from where we're falling, and I get an idea. I hold my hand out and grab onto it, but instead of it staying still it snaps and we swing off to an apartment. When I see the empty roof I let go and hold Layla close to me as we make our way in for a rough landing. We hit the roof and roll around on the hard pavement until we stop right next to a chimney.
My body feels so sore. I open my eyes and see Layla on top of me, hiding her face in my chest as she hugs me close to her. Poor Layla, she's scared out of her mind. I can't even imagine what she must've gone through with that big jerk. It was almost as if-
"… Mikey." I lose my train of thought as I hear Layla say my name, moving her head to look at me.
"Layla? Are you okay?" I know it's a stupid question to ask, but I need to hear it from her.
She slowly nods her head as we sit up and lean on the chimney, "I think so…," I soon begin to see tears well up in her eyes and run down her cheeks.
I have her stand up with me and hug her with all the comfort I can give, "It's alright. You're safe now."
"I know that, but for a moment back there I was so scared." Layla inches closer to my face as I gaze into her beautiful eyes, "I was afraid that I would never see my family, my friends, or you again. I was afraid that I would never get the chance to tell you how I really feel."
I cup her cheek in my hand as I wipe her tears away with my thumb, "Layla, I-"
I didn't even get the chance to finish my sentence as Layla rams her lips on mine, giving me a desperate kiss. Ever since that day we sat on the bed and almost kissed, I have waited to try this again, but this is not what I had in mind. I wanted this moment to be perfect like one of those scenes from a romance movie, but after what had happened and from what she told me, I can't blame her. If she had gotten seriously hurt or worse and I didn't tell her how I felt, I would never forgive myself. So I let my thoughts go, close my eyes, and kiss her back.
Layla moves one of her hands to the back of my head as she pushes my lips more into hers, deepening the kiss. I angle my head to the right so I can feel her soft lips mold into mine as I'm getting addicted to their touch. Our breath is so ragged and hard as we realize that we need air in our lungs right now before we pass out. A few moments later we end our kiss and gasp for air. We stare at one another and hug each other tight so we can be close once again.
Layla's P.O.V.:
"Mikey!"
"Kea!"
I look at Mikey in confusion, wondering if Mikey heard those voices call out to us. However, before we can figure out who it is we see the guys and girls jump on the building where we are now and run over to us. Sovi and Palms quickly get to me and hug me tight as the guys check on their brother to see if he's alright. I don't know how they managed to find us, but I'm so happy to see them all right now. This has been one hell of a night, and I would prefer to not relive it again.
When we got back to the Lair, everyone was telling Mikey and I what happened after we were gone. Apparently the rest of the Purple Dragons tried to escape in the truck, but they didn't get that far after Cheryl popped all their tires with her earth-bending. Seriously, that's like her signature move. As soon as the Purple Dragons realized they couldn't get away Verena was able to knock them unconscious with her psychic powers, and shove them all in the truck for the police to handle. After that they made their way to the roof and saw the leader out cold on the ground, but couldn't find us anywhere. That's when I told them what had happened to me as Verena and Palms were healing my injuries. The Purple Dragon leader hit me from behind with his nightstick and began shocking me nonstop with his taser until Mikey showed up and stopped him, and then saved me.
Sovi and Palms were so thankful to Mikey for saving me from that bald idiot. If it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't be here with my friends. He was so brave, caring, and very heroic tonight. In all honesty, it has made me fall for him even more. I even poured all of my love and affection for him in that brief kiss we had before everyone showed up. That was something I didn't even plan on doing until later on. It's just that I didn't want to waste any more time, in case if something really bad had happened to me. I just wish I had said the words instead of rushing in to kiss him. Maybe I'll get another chance soon… I hope.
About an hour later, Sovi, Palms, and I grab all of our gear and make our way to the exit. As I am about to walk out the door with Rayne in my arms, I feel a tap on my shoulder and hear someone clear their throat. I turn around and instantly see Mikey, looking as if he wants to ask me something.
"Hey Layla?" He starts off and pauses for a moment.
"Yes Mikey?"
"I was wondering… if you would want to go out with me tomorrow night? I know its kinda last minute, but I really want to treat you to something special. I-I mean you don't have to if you don't want to, but-" My Gods, he sounds so nervous from all of this rambling and I put my fingers on his lips to shut him up.
"… I would love to very much, Mikey." I said smiling at him and taking my fingers off of his lips.
He smiles big, "Great! I'll pick you up at seven at your place. Is that okay with you?"
I nod, "That sounds perfect."
"Okay. I'll… um… see you tomorrow night." He said and gives me a quick kiss on the cheek, "Goodnight, Layla."
"… Goodnight, Mikey." I said, walk over to the girls, and leave to back home while I rub my cheek.
By the Gods, today has been one crazy day. I'm just glad that it's finally over and I can look forward to my date with Mikey tomorrow night. I smile big as I want to get home and get some much needed rest, for tomorrow is going to be an amazing day.
Thank the good lord, this chapter is done! So, what do you all think? I haven't written in a while and to me some of the characters feel out of place, but I'm hoping I did okay to your liking. As always, you are my judges.
***PLEASE READ*** Okay, this is the part from the intro that I need your help with. The first is the battle between "A Megatropolis Love Story" and a new one that I have had a lot of requests for. What the new story will be is a series of one shots with our favorite turtles and benders as couples and doing a bunch of different things together. What I want to ask you all is this, of these two, which one would you be interested in reading the most? "A Megatropolis Love Story" or the one shot series? Please tell me your pick in the review:).
This last one is for a different fanfic story for Sonic the Hedgehog. I want to do a story either about Knuckles and an OC, or with Shadow and an OC. Now, there are not a lot of these when you look them up, so I want to at some point write about one of them because I have some ideas for these two bad boys. Like at the top, do you guys want to read a fanfic about Knuckles or Shadow? Also tell me your pick in the review.
