-Issei was a normal kid all his life until tragedy struck-

Issei: Mom, Dad get up we need to get out of here!

-A stray blast of energy of unknown origin struck his home and blew it to smithereens and in the process the home started to burn, with him and his parents trapped inside-

?:(silently in Isseis mind) They are dead child, you must run before you are too.

-Issei looked around to see if anyone was there and found no one-

?:(louder than last time) I told you to run!

-Issei ran and before exiting the building grabbing his father's sword which ran in the family bloodline, the blade and the gem in the middle glowed a green color and awoke when he grabbed it-

?:(Through the sword) Its about time you found me, if your father had presented you to me before I may have been able to keep this from happening.

Flashback

-Isseis father was one of the people who always seemed strange to Issei but his mother always waved it off as just that being a part of who he was-

Isseis Father: Son, do you see that sword there in the sheathe?

Issei: Yeah, what about it?

Isseis Father: You must not touch it unless it's absolutely necessary that sword is known for the destruction of many beings.

-Isseis Father explains the existence of all the different beings that exist-

Isseis Father: And lastly there are those who are of priestly origin but became devils to serve the light. I was one of those and my hope is that you will not have to do the same. It is a long and accursed road full of pain, anger, sadness and emptiness.

End Flashback

?:So your Father said not to use me unless things are dire? I told him not to do as such...but since you claimed me I must introduce myself but first let's move a safe distance from here otherwise we will be caught in the next blast as well.

-Issei is teleported atop a hill overlooking his home burning in the distance and he sees the source of the pain. A fallen angel which is ready to shoot another blast of energy at his home and he sees on the floor multiple dead angels-

?:Damn that Kokabiel he could not have come at a more worse time. Partner I am the storm dragon Ryujin. I will give you the story of my origin soon but...

?:There you are you little rat!

-Issei turns in time to see a blade of energy ready to pierce him through the gut, Issei trues to ready the sword but to no avail as it is too heavy for him, and the blade being slightly diverted by the Blade of Storms hits him in between the ribs going through the lower section of one of his lungs-

Issei: Gah!

-Issei coughs up blood and is barely able to keep himself standing and then collapses and blacks out-

Ryujin: Hold on partner help is on the way...just hold on a little longer.

-Issei peeks his eyes open just barely to seen the claws of another beast grabbing him and then lifting him away and then he blacks out again-

[Ryujins POV]

Ryujin: Thank you Tanin, I know it's a risk to go to the normal world for you but you have my thanks regardless

Tanin: Don't thank me yet the boy is still on the verge of death, begin the process of making him a dragon before he is lost to death. I will assist in such a matter. And on that note what happened to his father?

Ryujin: He was killed in an energy blast by Kokabiel, he struck while my owner was still asleep but somehow he was able to kill him in a single blow, it usually takes more than that to kill him but he got him easily.

Tanin:Hmm...that is concerning.

[Isseis POV]

Issei: Ryujin!

-Issei called out to him multiple times but to no avail-

?:Son

Issei: Father?

-Issei turned to see his dad looking burned and bruised with a hole where his heart would be. Issei saw this and started crying knowing that his father was dead-

Isseis Father: Son do not cry, I know you took the sword.

Issei: I'm sorry...

Isseis Father: Don't be. When I said to only use it if situations were dire this situation was exactly what I meant. Right now we are currently in your mindscape inside the sword. Ryujin can't contact you because he is busy, an old friend of mine and the blade are turning you into a dragon.

Issei: A dragon but what am I supposed to do?

Isseis Father: You will find out Son and know now since this is the last of my power to give you this message. I love you son and I am proud of you...follow whatever Tannin tells you to do and be a good boy.

Issei: Father, wait!

-Isseis Father disappears like his soul was nothing more than a leaf in the breeze and he is suddenly pulled out of the mindscape-

[Underworld, Hells Domain]

Ryujin: Kid wake up, I know your not dead.

Issei: Ouch...

-Issei tried to get up but it seemed almost impossible because of how sore he was-

Issei: How long?

Ryujin: How long were you out? Two weeks, Tanin and a few others are taking care of you.

-Issei saw a sudden flash at the opening of the cave and tried to hide in fear-

Ryujin: Issei you need to man up, Tanin just brought you some food there is no need to fear him he is a dragon like you are now.

-Issei saw the form before him morph from a dragon to a man in purple with shaggy hair-

Tanin: Alright kid, up you go.

-Tanin lifted a 7 year old Issei off the ground and hauled him into a seat at a table with chairs-

Tanin: I know the feeling of you losing your parents is still raw but you will eventually have to get over it.

-Tanin served him a bowl of soup which smelled funny but had plenty of the necessary nutrients to raise a dragon-

Tanin: Go ahead and eat, I already ate you will need your strength for next week.

Issei: (In a horse voice) Next week?

Tanin: Yeah I'm going to train you in the way of the dragon. I heard about what happened to your parents through your sword there. To think that you Father was taken down in a single blow is concerning and terrifying. and none the less by someone like Kokabiel...that damn warmonger.

Timeskip: One week

Issei: How about that Uncle?

-Issei took to seeing Tanin like an uncle to him as he was taking care of him in his father's stead and was his father's friend-

Tanin: Good but you need to put more focus into the blow if you don't then it will not have the desired effect.

-Tanin was teaching Issei martial arts, the ability to wield a sword properly and dragon martial arts using the dragon form which he had yet to be able to use-

Tanin: Good, now do it again!

-Tanin noticed some watching eyes and quickly walked in that direction-

Tanin: Keep going, I'll be back.

-Tanin spotted the crimson Aura of the king of the underworld and the Silver aura of his queen-

Tanin: Damnit it's too soon...I've got to stall them.

-Tanin went towards them in dragon form, his purple aura blaring-

Tanin: Morning Sirzechs.

Sirzechs: Morning to you too as well old friend, it's not normal seeing you out here, what are you up to?

Tanin: Traning, the usual.

Sirzechs: Its been a while since I saw dragons training, mind if I watch?

Tanin: Not today sir.

-Siirzechs noticed the tone an switch his up as well-

Sirzechs: Keeping secrets buddy?

-Tanin didn't answer-

Sirzechs: Grayfia, go and check out the surrounding area please.

Grayfia: As you command it my lord.

-Grayfia took off a noticed Issei immediately, black hair and training whith the blade of storms-

Grayfia: Your not supposed to be here.

Issei: Uh...who are you?

-Grayfia grabbed him and his sword and brought him to Sirzechs-

Grayfia: It seems I've found his little secret.

Sirzechs: You know Tanin you really should not be keeping secrets from your master.

Tanin: But this is one that could shift the balance of power, I wanted to keep him until he was of age to take care of himself.

Sirzechs: OK, but you still could have told me. Alright kid what's your name?

Issei: Issei Hyoudou...my father was murdered by fallen angels. One in specific though...Kokabiel.

Sirzechs: I see. Your father must have been a brave man.

Ryujin: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! That is putting it lightly.

-Sirzechs and Grayfia flinched hearing the sword laugh and speak-

Sirzechs: A sacred gear huh...Issei, what is your lineage.

Issei: Originally human but I was turned into a dragon so that I wouldn't die from the hole in my chest.

-Issei instinctually lifts his shirt showing a scar with a star shape-

Sirzechs: He killed the humans champion...from here on, Issei Hyoudou you are now under the care of the Gremory clan of the devils.

Tanin: But sire he is supposed to be with the dragons. You know as well as I that the dragons are close to extinct thanks to that damned war against our race.

-Sirzechs glared at him with ferocity. Even Issei had a shiver go down his spine, and he could feel Grayfia who was still holding him shiver as well. Seeing this Tanin backed off from the ensuing argument-

Tanin: Fine...

Sirzechs: Now Issei you will continue the training Tanin is giving you but you will be under the protection of my house.

Three years goes by in a flash and Issei can now harness the power of turning into a full fledged dragon

Sirzechs: Issei give me a taste of your power!

-Both Issei and Sirzechs began dueling to practice power output and control in Issei-

Issei: Then let's see how about some dragon cannon shots!

-Multiple energy signatures appear around the barrier and create a field of fire keeping Zechs from approaching-

Sirzechs: Not bad but you need to put more energy into them!

-Sirzechs blasts the magic circles with concentrated bursts of energy one of them which he aims at Issei which Issei dodges and another which he destroys using the storm blade-

Sirzechs: Not bad but you need to up that power of yours if you want to beat me!

The fight continues and as usual Issei is beat into the ground

Issei: Ooooouuuuuuch...

Sirzechs: Not bad you made me have to get serious...I think your ready.

Issei: Ready for what?

Tanin: Sir I'm telling you not to do this. He may be a champion candidate for the devils or the dragons but keep that in mind sir.

Sirzechs: I am in fact, remember Tanin I'm quite the schemer you should know that by now. Issei, what would it take for you to rethink the way in which you can see yourself as useful.

Issei: Besides my plan for revenge?

Sirzechs: Yes...become a member of my sisters peerage however you will not meet her yet, but I do have a piece that would fit you.

-Sirzechs pulls out a large amount of pawns 11 total-

Issei: Isn't the pawn the weakest piece?

Sirzechs: Not necessarily, it has the ability to be promoted at the behest of the master. And even beyond that the best part is that to assassinate enemies like Kokabiel it is the most valuable and versatile piece.

Issei: What are the conditions?

Ryujin: Partner are you seriously considering this?

Tanin: Really kid, think this through don't just accept on a whim.

Sirzechs: The conditions are simple until the time you are allowed to meet her, you are under my command and will be exterminating strays as a part of training. Once the determined time comes you will join her in her claimed territory.

-Issei throught about this for a moment and Ryujin also spoke to him-

Ryujin:(In Isseis mind) Are you sure about this? Once you take this step there is no going back until you surpass your master or you marry into another family or die.

Issei:...I accept the consequences and conditions as well as the challenge ahead!

Sirzechs: That's what I like to hear! A man set on his path!

-This set Issei on his path for revenge against Kokabiel and his goon squad, as well as a fated meeting between a certain sorcerer and dragon-

?:And don't forget me too nya!

This is my first DXD story so I'm still kind of new to it but I am looking into some more of the stories and making new content. Be aware that there may be some lemons in this at my discretion but we will see.
