AN: A few things – who would have known the simple idea of 'Sebastian and Blaine knew each other and Blaine asks Sebastian to help make Kurt jealous' would be so complicated in the end? Lol, that's the beauty when you start to write it down, you realize there's a lot more than can go into it.

Also: this one backtracks just a tiny, tiny bit. It starts up where Blaine's off at the table talking to a bunch of guys about the art community project.

Kurt didn't know why he felt so comfortable not being in Sebastian's arms but was as good as. They swayed and turned to the music and Kurt nearly leaned back into Sebastian's embrace when he heard laughter from the table Blaine was at. Kurt turned in Sebastian's arms, looking up into jade eyes that were suddenly so much closer than they'd ever been before. They spoke some, Kurt worrying at his bottom lip as Sebastian saw through the lies he kept telling himself.

How could he be sure that if he broke up with Blaine, broke Blaine's heart that Sebastian wouldn't swoop in on his vulnerable form? Though, if it was just sex with Blaine Sebastian was seeking, there were so many opportunities tonight while Blaine was drunk and touchy-feely with everyone around here that Sebastian could have capitalized on.

Again, he felt there was something more going on than he was privy to. Why was Sebastian bothering with him tonight then?

If Kurt broke up with Blaine, would his heart even break? Or would he just shrug and walk off? The fact that he didn't know was the most concerning of all of it.

Sebastian's hot moist breath caressed his lips and it would be so easy to press them together from this position. Sebastian was saying something about stopping before they both regretted the timing. The timing not the action, Kurt felt something inside him melt. He was so sure of himself that he didn't mince Kurt's heart with the wrong words. Not when it mattered, not when they were like this.

The dance had washed all of that other stuff away. Why had they even argued? Attraction that needed to be hidden under antagonism since they couldn't do anything about it? He had definitely felt more attraction with Sebastian than he had with Blaine, or at least since that first day they'd met. With Sebastian, it had never stopped.

Blaine downed another drink. More laughter.

Then the sound of glass crashing against the floor and shattering. Kurt moaned. "I have to go deal with that."

"I know." Sebastian lifted his hand and gently stroked the back of his fingers along Kurt's cheek. "Don't think this is just because I've been drinking, ok? Don't get confused by my actions when we see each other again. Remember this is how I feel." He lifted Kurt's hand and pressed it against his quickly beating chest. "I made a promise and I need to see it through or he needs to break it first. There was nothing said about a side project."

Kurt didn't get it, he wasn't making sense. "What?"

"I've said too much but I'll explain it some day."

"That a promise?" Kurt asked softly.

"It is." It was a gentle agreement and it melted that thing inside Kurt just a little bit further. "I'm going to hold you to it."

"I would be surprised if you didn't." Sebastian released Kurt even though he wasn't exactly holding him.

Kurt joined up with the group laughing at Blaine for his fumble but he didn't even notice. He was still waxing on about the pros of community art projects to keep unwanted graffiti off the sides of buildings. "Come on Pablo." Kurt wrapped an arm around Kurt's waist and helped guide him around the shards of glass the wet-back came over to clean up. "Sebastian over there will pay for it." Kurt said cheekily and pointed in the polo-shirt wearing guy. "Thank you."

"Just get him home safe, only thanks I'll need." The guy answered truthfully and Kurt smiled at seeing someone so genuine here.

Blaine started going on and on in his ear about how much he loved art and creating art and helping people. "Considering you have never picked up a paint brush or gone out to said community centers, I'm having a hard time believing that." Kurt bit back and Blaine was silent for a moment. Kurt knew better than to argue with drunks, but he couldn't help it just then.

"My family donates to a lot of charities and art is more than just drawings and paintings!" Blaine finally defended.

"You're right, I'm sorry, you've done a very good job for the community near you." Kurt patted him on the back in support while rolling his eyes as they walked out of the building.

Sebastian popped up on the other side when they were down the ramp, sliding his arm around Blaine's other side. "I thought about it and realized you might need help getting him in the car."

"Thank you." Kurt smiled over at Sebastian for probably the first time in the open. Blaine was teetering here and there and he was sure if Blaine went down, he'd be taking Kurt with him. If they were pressed up intimately together, who knew what Blaine would do while drunk?

"I'm hungry." Blaine complained, burying his face into Kurt's shoulder, his own arm dropping lower to brush against Kurt's backside. Sebastian tipped him away from Kurt slightly so the heavier body rested more on him. Kurt should have been angry at the move which could have led to feeling up his boyfriend, but he wasn't. Sebastian didn't inappropriately touch at all.

"Ok, I'll get you something to eat before we go home." Kurt agreed and Blaine muttered happily.

"Hey Bas buddy." Blaine rubbed his face against Sebastian's shoulder now. "You're great, you know that? Really truly great for helping me."

"Of course." Sebastian patted him on the back too.

"Let me get the door for the back, he'll be better off lying down."

"Better off sitting up in the passenger seat with the window down and aimed toward the outdoors." Sebastian countered. "Then laying on his stomach or side when he's finally inside."

Kurt stepped away from the argument. Sebastian would know far better than he would. "Ok. How do we do that?"

"You get in your spot and I'll lower him into the passenger seat then when I've closed the door, we'll maneuver him."

Blaine was happy and giddy. "Oh Kurt, you're the best, absolutely the bestest of bestest!"

"Yeah, you're not drunk at all." Kurt rubbed his eyes tiredly. Blaine was always a energetic drunk.

Sebastian didn't respond to that one, just helped situation Blaine properly as Kurt belted him in. He looked passed Blaine to Kurt and held his gaze. "Will you be ok?"

"As long as he doesn't ralph or get too handsy, yeah, should be fine." He shrugged in response to Sebastian's look. "He made out with Rachel once when drunk, thought they'd end up in a closet somewhere together."

Sebastian laughed at the joke that Kurt unintentionally made and didn't retract what he said. "I'll check on you."

"You don't have my number and I don't have yours." Kurt pointed out but Sebastian only winked then headed back into Scandals.

He left with a parting shot. "Take care of that Warbler."

Kurt tried to beat the amusement off his face. Blaine would have a field day to know that the two that couldn't stop arguing were now... what? Flirting? It was strange, considering Sebastian was flirting with Blaine first. Except, seeing Sebastian flirt with him, he didn't know what the hell it was that he was doing with Blaine.

Kurt did stop for some food, hoping it would sober Blaine up and he gobbled it down, spraying it everywhere and Kurt was so glad that it was his great-aunt's car and nothing belonging to the Hudmel family.

He got Blaine upstairs, dressed, brushed and washed and in bed. Kurt eyed the bed momentarily before deciding against it and headed back to his house. Blaine would be fine, he wasn't that drunk as he kept reminding Kurt. Kurt just didn't want to be there over night in case Blaine decided to ask for anything else that he wasn't perfectly capable of getting himself after being such a rude asshat all night. If he slept in the same bed, he'd be getting quite a few bruises from knees and elbows.

He did leave a note however next to Blaine's bed, saying that they could meet up for coffee in the morning if he woke up early enough. He didn't. Kurt ended up having coffee with Sebastian instead, who'd put his name in as 'Sexy Meerkat'.

Kurt had quite a bit to say about that when they met up that morning after that discovery. Sebastian had stayed in town overnight and had time before he had to go back up to Dalton for their last day of class before the weekend. It was early enough that Kurt could go for a cup before going to his own classes too.

Sebastian refused to talk about what he knew but had alluded to last night. He claimed he'd been drinking and was likely spouting off nonsense and had no idea what Kurt was talking about.

"But you remembered that you were going to check in on me, had my phone number." Kurt countered, eying Sebastian wearily. "What are you playing at?"

"It's not my game, I'm just a pawn." Sebastian shrugged and the smirk on his lips as he let Kurt sort that out while he drank his coffee was just annoying.

"Sebastian." Kurt transfixed his stare on Sebastian, holding his eyes and showing him that he was not amused by this coy act. "Just tell me."

"No." Sebastian matched his tone and took another amused sip from his cup.

"You're pointless." Kurt grumbled and was glad that his cup was a to-go one and stood. "This whole meeting is worthless if you won't tell me anything."

"It's not, I'm not." Sebastian countered, standing too but not reaching out to stop Kurt, which he was grateful for. He still felt Karofsky's hand around his wrist from last night. He didn't want to compound it. "I got a coffee out of it and you got to see me, win-win." A flash of those perfect teeth within a smile to die-for.

Kurt's lips moved awkwardly over his own, feeling self conscious about his own teeth at that moment. It would be a rare smile that showed them off and he'd rather Sebastian make fun of him for not having any than for the ones that did reside in his mouth. "Whatever." Kurt shook his head and waved by force of habit as he left. "Bye."

He heard Sebastian's laugh follow him out. He scowled as he headed for his Nav. Sebastian was so annoying! And confusing.

Kurt headed to school and ignored the fact that Blaine wasn't there. Too hung over to even make it to school. Kurt wasn't a fool, he knew these classes were too easy for Blaine. Even the easiest classes at Dalton were far harder than the most advanced level here.

It made Kurt feel a little superior to be top of class here rather than somewhere in the middle of the pile at Dalton. Although he purposefully avoided getting the top two rankings, he did not want to be singled out again while attending school in Ohio. He didn't want to be on that stage giving a speech and having them boo him off while it was filmed and shared for years to come.

He gladly let Rachel and Quinn think they were smarter than him. They could duke it out between them who got to be valedictorian. His money was on Quinn. Santana would have been the clear winner if she applied herself, but she didn't even bother turning in most assignments.

Long ago Kurt had picked math as his 'weak subject' and purposefully struggled just enough in those classes to get an A-. His transfer to and from Dalton had messed up his GPA too, at least in the way that McKinley ranked things and considered for top of the class. So he was out of the running and could go back to getting all solid As. That made him feel a lot better, actually.

He still purposefully got a few answers wrong, so he wasn't getting 100%s on everything. It would have been too suspicious otherwise and he didn't want to have to explain or defend himself. He had more important matters to concern himself over.

He'd gotten an apology text from Blaine as well as a thank you, you're the greatest boyfriend on the planet, in the face of him getting so utterly drunk.

So he was alive, afterall. Kurt sighed and put as much effort into Glee that afternoon that he could. They were going to have one last rehearsal this afternoon and it was of course without their leading male. The absence of a leading male was all too familiar of a story for Kurt these days.

He got a text from Sebastian that was little more than pornographic just as he was thinking that. Ok, so maybe he wasn't without one leading man. But just what was Sebastian playing at?

Blaine came whistling into the Dalton Academy's Choir Room just as they finished practicing their last song of the set. Blaine frowned when he realized it wasn't an MJ song. They'd won their Regionals and were set to face off with McKinley at Sectionals. Sebastian was doing better than he gave himself credit for as lead Warbler. It wasn't a matter of ability though, rather want.

The group gathered around Blaine once more as he praised them for sounding great and congratulating them on their win the previous weekend. Then he handed out tickets for his play. They were slotted for the last show of the run.

Sebastian didn't wait for the others to clear out this time nor did he say anything about the show. The McKinley kids all deserved support. "Thank you, Blaine. We really appreciate it." Sebastian then shooed everyone away and walked with Blaine down the halls of Dalton toward the car park. "Do I take it, mission accomplished?" Sebastian was well aware that it wasn't.

""No." Blaine answered moodily. "We're going to have to do something big to really push him over the edge. He doesn't even mention you when you're not around, a bit out of sight out of mind. Even last night wasn't enough to get him to try anything."

"Probably because doing so last night would be construed as taking advantage, would it not?" Would Blaine have done so if the tables were turned? Sebastian barely remembered their time together. Blaine had been as drunk as he had been, right? They'd been both too drunk to really be anything but dubious consent but they had been in it together, so it'd been a wash. He'd been learning so much about Blaine since his return from France. He was a bit more willing to push hard boundaries than Sebastian had previously been knowledgeable of.

Sebastian however, did not take offense at Blaine's announcement that Sebastian didn't get under Kurt's skin when they weren't together. Sebastian was well aware that he did and he sent off another text to Kurt that day. The last few had been met with some very well crafted remarks. He wanted to see what Kurt would do with this kind of attack on his shields.

"I was surprised to hear something that wasn't MJ when I came in." Blaine frowned. "I thought we settled it at the last visit that you guys were going to wipe the floor with ND with your MJ?"

Sebastian shrugged. "It's a contender but the guys wanted to mix it up, they're not too keen on just doing one artist. That's too much putting all eggs in one basket, as they claimed."

"I suppose..." Blaine's eyes lit up and Sebastian had a feeling he wasn't going to like this. "It's perfect. Once we're done with the play, we'll challenge you guys once more for MJ and you can release the songs to ND as a prize and then when you floor them at Sectionals, it'll just be par for the course."

"Eh..." Sebastian wouldn't do that, he played fair but if Blaine thought that's what they'd do, all the better. He wasn't sure if Blaine was spilling the Warbler secrets to the ND as well. He might as well keep them all guessing. "What are you thinking?" Blaine laid out his plan and Sebastian sighed, well, why not? The hero card hadn't been played yet and that's how he'd gotten Kurt in the first place... Sebastian reluctantly agreed, but this would be the last thing he did to help further their relationship along. He liked Kurt too much to play the villain much longer but they deserved a chance, didn't they? Sebastian wasn't so sure anymore.

It may not have started as a noble cause, but the more he got to know Kurt, the more he was certain this was all just... so wrong.

Kurt had looked at him several times the night of the play, but they didn't talk. He went home while Blaine talked to the Warblers then went out to join the rest of the cast for a closing night celebration at Artie's.

Sebastian watched as Artie and Rachel called for Blaine to hurry up. The rest of the Warblers had stumbled over themselves to praise Blaine but Sebastian thought he could have been better. He had missed his mark several times. He'd been out of sync during a dance because he had not nailed a spin, he'd been too over-enthusiastic and totally botched it.

Maybe he was asking too much out of a high school production, especially the first one any of these kids had ever gotten off the ground and had an actual audience for. Except it was their last night after a three week show and Blaine was still making early night jitter mistakes.

Kurt meanwhile had nailed every line, every look, every moment of his part. He had supported Blaine in a few of his lines, basically mouthing them for him. Kurt should have been Tony. It was just so obvious to him, Kurt knew all the lines and moves for each of the characters, yes, even the female ones.

Sebastian would have cast this play so very differently had he been in charge.

The other Warblers looked to Sebastian after Blaine left. "Go ahead, I'll be back on Monday." Sebastian hoped he wasn't going to be playing a card that would be burnt in the end. He had other options but he hoped that this gamble would win out.

He called Kurt.

"Sebastian?" The voice was weary and a bit suspicious on the other end of the line.

Sebastian smiled, imagining the look on Kurt's face. "Will you pick me up and go to dinner with me?"

"Dinner? Sebastian, I have a boyfriend-."

"Yes, I know, but this isn't a date. I just want to talk to you." Which was a very much date type of thing to do. "It doesn't even have to be anything fancy."

Kurt's sigh herald his acquiesce even before his words confirmed it. "I have no idea why I'm agreeing to this."

"I have some idea." Sebastian said mysteriously.

"Of course you do." Kurt sighed in exasperation.

Dinner had not been what Kurt expected. Sebastian entertained him all night and they did not once talk about anyone or anything else that could cause a fight between them. They'd found themselves in a truce of some sort.

Then Kurt's phone was lighting up with a multitude of texts from the Glee chain and apparently they were now at odds with Dalton on an epic scale. Kurt glanced over at his dinner partner. "Did you know about this?"

"I had a feeling it was coming." Sebastian gave a small shrug. "We going to have it out tonight?"

"No, looks like they're angling toward next week, Wednesday to be exact." Kurt sighed and leaned back in his seat. "Is this dinner sabotage?"

"Nobody but the two of us know about this." Sebastian eased for Kurt's sake. "This business with MJ and Blaine is going to stay separate from the two of us."

Kurt narrowed his eyes. "Blaine's my boyfriend, you've been hitting on him. You're a rival show choir and are attempting to steal our setlist. Please remind me why they're going to be kept separate?"

Sebastian grinned. "Because you know you want to."

Kurt opened his mouth about to argue then closed it again. "I don't know why, but you're right, I do want to keep it separate." He put his phone away. "Now, tell me about France."

Sebastian grinned and leaned forward to give him all the insider scoop. This he was free to talk about at length.

Wednesday found them all wearing black or shades of it. Santana and Brittany were wearing their cheer uniforms but with leather jackets and Santana's was zipped up with a hoodie pulled over her dark hair. Kurt followed suit with the requirements for tonight's excursions more so than those two and it had been Santana's requirements. They all looked like a gang though, so there was that.

Kurt nearly snickered when he saw the Dalton boys still in their school uniform. They were well aware that it was going to be a sing off. Rachel nudged him in the ribs to keep him quiet. Santana and Blaine were going to talk to them first. Santana made since, she was one of their most intimidating members. But Blaine? Really? He was the one being crushed on. Maybe he was supposed to be there in anger for Sebastian stealing the setlist he'd just so willingly given.

They'd already confronted them over this. They'd already been shown up.

"You look fantastic." Kurt murmured down to Tina, and she really did. She had on a tight black top, leather jacket, red belt separating the top to the bell skirt she had on. It was awesome and her makeup was on par.

"Thanks Kurt!" She whispered up at him, super touched by his words.

Rachel made a sound trying to shush them.

"This is ridiculous, like a surprise birthday party. No one is going to be surprised at us being here. Look how many Warblers came out for this!" He hadn't seen them in that many numbers except for on the stage. It wasn't even their entire roster.

"Shut up." Rachel was really into it and she was the consummate performer.

Kurt decided this was probably going to be his best acting credit that he could never claim. So he rolled his eyes and pulled on his fight face even though he just wanted to snort once more at the absurdity.

Honestly, Santana on her own would have been much more terrifying. They heard her cue and they all moved out of the shadows. Ok, so there was some merit in their production as Trevor took a step back and one of the new boy's jaws dropped open. Even Nick and Jeff looked a little uncomfortable at first but then Nick straightened and jerked his uniform into place, ready for their theatrical fight. Another guy had the most steely glare in place as the Warblers started them off with a beatbox base.

Kurt staggered back a little with a lifted brow. Wasn't this supposed to just be in good fun? None of the ND had really been more than just run of the mill upset. This was no worse than when they wigged VA out with their ability to do funk. Even if they all did the same songs, they all had such a different approach to it.

He didn't want to fight, he didn't want to argue anymore. He just wanted to focus on Sectionals and beating the Warblers once more.

A lot of fronting and crossing arms over chests attempting to be intimidating. Sebastian's eyes were locked onto Blaine's in irritation over being called out here, bored even and then they slid over to Kurt and a slight quirk of his lips into a smirk. Santana growled even as Artie started them off on the vocals.

If they weren't both gay (or if they were and one was just a different gender), they'd be the best fucking couple to have ever existed on the planet. It was as if they were the same person just occupying different bodies for the fun of it. Confuse all the onlookers as they quivered between the two so quickly everyone else would be forgiven for thinking they were two different people. Not just moving that quickly back and forth between different extremely attractive husks. Their chemistry was electric. Although two people being that similar would just implode in the most fantastical fireworks display, taking out city blocks if not the entire globe.

Kurt hung out in the fringes, but not the back like Rachel, as Sebastian, Santana and Blaine and even Artie got up person and in the center of everything.

They moved in and out, expanded, contracted, defended, attacked, slid into the way when it appeared the Warblers were either going to leave or try to get around them. There was a lot of small pushes, pointing fingers, calling people out, more fronting and trying to appear angry and scary and intimidating. There was more getting up in people's faces, hands on chests, faces nearly touching and then moving apart only to do it again.

Sebastian got up close and person with seemingly everyone in the ND except Kurt. Artie called Sebastian 'not a man' and 'talk is cheap' and Kurt thought Sebastian might actually go too far with him. Instead Sebastian was pulled away at the last minute by one of the Warblers.

There was some pretty fancy footwork going on with the Warblers that Kurt just had to stop and watch for a moment. There were jumps and spins and then the ND were moving forward on the offense and they were looking pretty spectacular too.

Kurt was just beginning to think that they should change the rules of competition, they should have song battles like this, it would be a blood sport of epic proportions and would have a lot of viewers, when actual punches started flying. He quickly rethought that, remembering that testosterone and fighting were common place when people got angry, as they inevitably did. Santana was leading the charge and everyone always got hurt and mad when she did it but she was also the best for it.

Finn grabbed Sebastian, throwing him part way into the garage but Sebastian landed on his feet. Blaine grabbed him, ready for a shot but Sebastian spun out of his way. Tina got involved and tried to deck him but he swept under her arm. Then Santana was front and center, her chest nearly brushing his as they got into each other's faces.

Others fought, found new targets. Puck squared off with Wes and Blaine fought with Thad then some one else he didn't know, but he was tall and broad. Kurt slipped easily around the brawl, not having signed up for an actual physical altercation. Nobody actually swung at Blaine but they did get in his face and pull and push him around a little, just as he did with them. Punches weren't help back from Sebastian but he was able to dodge them while still remaining in the heat of it. Damn, he was quick.

But Kurt was wily, he danced and darted out of the way of anyone who came after him or was already fighting and he was likely to get mixed up with. All his practice with bullies in the past was good for something in the end. He had it, he was just going to get in the middle and start shouting them all down if they didn't stop this. Thankfully the song was ending and he held out a slim hope that when it ended, this nonsense would too. He wasn't going to put himself in the center until it was a little quieter, so he could be heard. He skated the outskirts of the fights and angled so he was between Blaine and Sebastian in the end.

There was a scuffle on the other side and Kurt felt his breath catch as he caught Sebastian's face as he pulled out a slushy cup. It was angry and annoyed and yet somehow determined. Kurt knew what it was and he knew who it was for. His own face reflected his disappointment and a bit of smugness, knowing Sebastian was going to behave badly despite everything he said. Still, even before it was fully out, Kurt was closing his eyes. He was well aware of the effects of slushies and knew it was most painful in the eyes. His arm moved up as his head turned away, the liquid coming toward him from a safe distance and he felt a hand on his stomach, pushing him back.

The whole world had slowed down. Kurt actually hadn't thought with the distance between him and Sebastian it would hit him, maybe a bit of the ice but not the entire cup. He didn't have it down to a science like the bullies of McKinley had. Like a lot of the Glee club had prior to joining their rag-tag group.

Then everything sped up to double time when he heard Blaine cry out in sheer agony. He opened his eyes, hardly able to breath after the hit to his solar plexus, to find Blaine on the ground writhing in agony. Sebastian looked smug for the briefest of seconds before shock set in. The Warblers looked guilty and a muscle ticked in Sebastian's jaw. Kurt for one brief moment that Blaine was overplaying, that the slushies didn't hurt nearly as badly as he was making it out to be. Having never been hit by one before, it could see so much worse, but there were others who weren't so dramatic when they'd received their first.

Then he realized Blaine was in actual pain. He dropped down to his knees, hands trying to comfort Blaine while at the same time try to figure out what was wrong. Blaine had gotten his face full of the red slushy and maybe enough of it went into his nose and hit the back of his throat to cause a severe brain freeze?

The Warblers ran, Sebastian hesitated after he sent them away. "K-."

"Go!" Kurt shouted at him, tears in his eyes and his throat as he tended to Blaine. "Call 911. Tina, call 911!" He shouted when she was the first person in his periphery. She quickly dialed and Sebastian ran.

"We should go after them!" Puck yelled but Kurt reached out blindly for his wrist. Puck tore it away. "They can't get away with this, they tried to get you and got Blaine. They hit one of ours!" Puck snapped at him.

"Just... help Blaine." Kurt managed to croak and Blaine twisted on the ground in torment. The remains of the slushy looked like blood pooling out and draining away in ribbons.

Puck grumbled but slid his arms underneath Blaine and hefted him up. "Your car, princess, move!" Puck nearly kicked him in the side when Kurt was as frozen to the ground as the ice in the cup.

Kurt scrambled and sprinted ahead of them to open doors and start the car. His brain was numb but his body was kicking into action, knowing instinctively what to do. All the trips he'd gone to the emergency room on his own or with others was also paying off now.

Who knew some of the worst moments in his life would prepare him for quite possibly the worst he'd witnessed? Kurt wiped at his face, not even bothered when his hand came back wet, he just needed to be able to see. Santana threw herself into the side passenger seat before they could really take off and the doors locked automatically. "Shit, Kurt, this is my fault." She sounded beside herself and that nearly undid him, Santana was never unsure of herself or actions.

"Don't... just don't apologize to me right now. I can't take it. Make me mad, anything, please."

"Ok..." She looked unsure but when Kurt insisted, she snapped. "Ok!" Trying to think hard and fast on what she could say. "You're as sexy as a cabbage patch doll lady lips, it's exhausting looking at you."

"You've already used that on Finn and considering that you like lady lips-" Kurt countered with a small cough-laugh. She was at least on the right track, she kept him focused and arguing.

"Well Lance Bass, you've really fucked up now, haven't you? Going 80 in a 40 is going to get us pulled over like that." Santana snapped her fingers but Kurt didn't dare slow down. They were minutes away from the hospital and if the police wanted to stop them, let them try. "Come on Santana, where's that painful wit?"

"I'm trying! I'm not good at actually pulling it out when I want, it just comes out!" Puck snorted in the back, he was holding Blaine's head in his lap, hand over Blaine's holding his eyes. Blaine had reduced to some mindless whimpers.

"Ok, ok, you know how Brittany says you're a dolphin? Well never go swimming with dolphins because they'll get confused with the real thing and they'll hump you. Though that would definitely be more action than you're used to."

Blaine let out a painful whine at that and Santana made a face, kicking herself as she remembered the partner was the one in the backseat that Kurt was trying to forget. She wished she could yell at him to shut up back there.

"Not... not helping Santana." Kurt's knuckles were white around the steering wheel.

"Ok, this is totally the wrong line to go down then. Um... uh... yes, I know. What are we going to do with Sebastian and his cronies? I think we aught to string him up by his nut sack."

Puck snorted again. "He'd like that too much."

"No!" Kurt felt the word rip out of him at the idea. "We're not meeting violence with more violence."

"It was you he tried to maim." Santana pointed out in annoyance. "That can't stand."

"I'm not safe in Ohio." Kurt realized with a start, he'd left McKinley for Dalton because McKinley was dangerous, now Dalton was dangerous and McKinley was safer?

"Your brand of gay? You're not safe anywhere." Puck commented darkly and meanly from the back and Santana turned in her seat to glare at him. This was not in anyway Kurt's fault. "You should have let me go after that nut eating squirrel."

Santana bit her lip, understanding now where Puck was coming from. He was mad at Kurt for not letting him kill Sebastian and mad at the whole situation, taking it out on Kurt. It was very typical Puck even if Kurt didn't deserve it, even Santana could see that.

'There are some places that love his brand of gay."

"Yeah straight white girls who won't lift a finger to help him if he runs into trouble but demand fashion advice anyway." Puck sneered. "He needs to learn how to be more of a man, wear male clothes, stand better, more aggressively and stop wearing so much hair products and makeup."

"I only wear lotions and sunscreen." Kurt countered. "The make up I own is only to hide bruises, from trying to be more of a man but getting pummeled in return to standing up to bullies."

"I thought that stopped." Santana's words were sharp as she turned to him.

"My being bullied at this school, or in fact now, in the state of Ohio will never stop. It's just gotten back to a more reasonable amount that I can handle." His eyes briefly flickered to her and then went back to the road. Then into the rearview mirror at the two in his backseat. "There's only one sure fire way to no longer be bullied and I'm not at that point."

That set Santana off, and she bitched him out the entire rest of the trip to the hospital. Kurt pulled over, Puck took Blaine into the building and Kurt tunred to Santana. "Thank you."

"Thank you?" She screeched. "You were talking about-."

"Yeah, but I wouldn't." Kurt shook his head. "Maybe, at one point, but not for a long time now." He squeezed her hand. "It was just a low point, once in my life." He gestured with his head toward the hospital. "Getting out?"

"No, I'm staying with you."

Shit, he'd just wanted her to distract him while he drove, now he was going to be stuck with her for a very long time. "It's ok Santana, I was not serious." But she'd seen the thread of seriousness in there that no one else would. "Fine." He was just going to park and then wait with the others for Blaine's prognosis.

They were there two hours before they were told to go home. They were going to keep Blaine for observation. He had a laceration of his eye and would need surgery and a hospital stay. They didn't know when they would release him, he could permanently lose vision in part of his sight with that eye.

Puck already called a ride and was gone by the time Kurt tiredly trudged for his vehicle. "Hey, we're going to talk about the smirky meerkat, you know that, right?"

"What's there to talk about?" Kurt asked, lifting his eyes to try and look at her but only really got to her chin.

"Yeah... we're going to be talkin'." She saw him off, refusing a lift home. Blaine's parents wouldn't let even Kurt see him. Blaine had to be sedated and was too out of it to ask for Kurt. Santana frowned about the thought on her way home. Something just wasn't settling in with her right and she was pretty sure it was all Kurt's fault. Or Rachel's. Yeah, probably Rachel's.

"Young Babs, old Betty White. Where's Gay Cyclops? Stumbling in after you?" He looked around in amusement.

"He's going to need surgery, you neanderthal." Rachel cried. Her precious Blaine was going to be disfigured and was in no way going to be her equal for competition.

"Hmm... Guess you've no chance at all, do you? He was the only one who could get New Directions into shape for competition."

"We went to Nationals last year without him!" Rachel protested. "We beat the Warblers to get there."

"Yeah but that's because we were dragged down by the Queen of Shrieks. Absolutely no stage presence or pizzazz." Sebastian looked over Kurt. "Oh, Hi Kurt." It was sounding like an after thought but he'd already addressed and mentioned Kurt twice, offensively, but he had.

"We can't come here anymore." Kurt glanced around the room, hoping there would be an escape from this conversation. He definitely didn't want to see more Warblers here. "It's like the Hell Mouth, even though everyone lives 2 hours away, they spend all their time here like it's magically just a minute away." Kurt took a sip of his coffee.

"Didn't you hear what I said? Blaine's going to need eye surgery!"

"It's been two days, I think if he were going to have surgery, he would already."

Santana came out of the bathroom and spotted him, she made her way over quickly. "Look Andrew McCarthy, he may lose his eyes because of what he did."

Sebastian shrugged, his eyes flickering to Kurt, which made her even angrier. "Too bad, he was pretty, he shouldn't have gotten in the way of what was meant for Kurt."

Kurt lifted his eyes and looked at Sebastian in cold disdain. "I knew it was. What did you put in there? Glass?"

"Red dye number 6, I hear it's a beast on the internals." He made a face. "Probably why they stopped using it in cake, but I guess with a slushy, you're going to expect it to rot your gut."

"Sebastian, Blaine could be permanently disabled because of what you did." Rachel barked at him and he gave a small shrug.

"Doubt it's as big of a deal as you're making it."

"He was your friend not 4 months ago." Santana argued. "He's still in the hospital! They set him up with his own private room and everything, knowing it's going to be a long recovery."

"Seems hinky to me." Sebastian let slip. "Maybe it's best you go visit him." Then he wandered out.

"What does he do? Just waits for us to show up to attack then goes back to the deep?" Santana grumbled. "Kurt, don't talk to him anymore."

"Won't have to if we change our coffee shop." Kurt wasn't feeling much like talking anyway, not to Sebastian, not with anyone.

His phone vibrated and he reluctantly took it out to see who it was, always scared it was going to be something about his dad. It was Sebastian and he nearly deleted without looking at the message but his thumb had different ideas on how to deal with it. He looked over the message. 'Please let me explain'.

There was nothing to explain. He had tried to cause serious harm to Kurt's face and eyes and had gotten Blaine instead.

'It was Blaine's idea.' The message appeared before Kurt could respond.

'One hour. It better be good.' Kurt thought about it and then sent another message. 'After I talk to Blaine.'

'Fair enough.' The response was instant and honest and not at all restrictive. He just accepted Kurt's decision.

Kurt finally got in to see Blaine at the hospital and the bed was massive and it looked like they converted a library for him, complete with windows. He had a black eye-patch on, and Kurt felt like something was weird about that. Wasn't it his other eye? Kurt asked about the surgery that was planned, asked what the doctors had to say. Blaine was vague and threw out a few words. Rachel and Finn were there, muscling their way in on Kurt's visit and she started talking about friendship and how they'd always be there for him. Kurt thought it a little weird, considering, but he let her talk.

Then she whispered in his ear that they should sing Ben. Also a weird choice, but Kurt shrugged, he'd been holding Blaine's hand the whole time. He started them out. Finn added to it but then Rachel just took it over, like she usually did. Blaine looked entirely too touched by a song about a rat, but Kurt finished the song out for them.

"We should get going." Finn finally said, hand on Rachel's shoulder. She nodded and stood with him.

"Kurt? Can you stay for a little while?" Blaine asked and patted the side of the bed for Kurt to join him on it. Rachel grinned and she and Finn left as Kurt carefully moved to the bed and sat down. Blaine rested his head on Kurt's shoulder. "After... I recover, do you think we could discuss our stance on territory our hands can go? I've realized being in here that life is too short."

For Kurt it seemed a bit too blunt but he cleared his throat and spoke awkwardly. "Uh, yeah, when you're out of here and back at school and everything, we can discuss it." He promised. He dropped a kiss onto Blaine's well-washed hair and breathed him in, trying to recapture the feelings he'd had for him, before everything spun wildly out of control. He couldn't and wished he knew how to make himself feel that way again.

Sebastian's face lit up when he saw Kurt and moved toward him. Kurt held out a hand, his palm nearly brushing Sebastian's chest, needing him to keep his distance but could feel the heat from the other boy. He snagged his hand back.

"Santana visited me." Sebastian started out, trying to break the tension. "She's threatened me with legal action."

"Blaine's not going to press charges." Kurt sighed. "He was very clear on that point."

"Yeah, kind of hard when all I did was throw a slushy and he got in it's path." Sebastian agreed a little too smugly for Kurt.

"Is this what you wanted to talk to me about? Whether or not you were going to go to jail?"

"No, I wanted to stop you from making a mistake." Sebastian gestured toward the restaurant behind him. They were outside Lima so hopefully no one would run into them.

"Stop me from making a mistake?" That was rich, considering that's all Sebastian seemed to have been doing.

"Yeah, how did the visit with Blaine go? What did you learn?" He held the door open for Kurt and followed him inside.

Kurt reluctantly gave details and admitted he looked it up too but there was a lot of technical stuff he hadn't understood. Sebastian nodded along and then sighed, sitting back in his seat and started with why Blaine was full of a load of crap. "Eye surgery is done pretty quickly, within the week at the latest and if it's an open globe then that day. It's also not something you stay in a hospital for. Blaine's just bored at the school and figured he might as well skip a few days since the classes are just too easy. He's playing it for sympathy. You're not going to get access to him until he wants to see you again. Pretty sure he and his parents are planning on a vacation for the next week, surf and sand, actually. He's been home or out and about, not staying there. They own that wing and so they can do whatever they want short of interfering with actual medical practices and patients."

"How do you know all that?" Even the other Warblers had reached out to apologize. They certainly hadn't realized it was a... a lie?

"I had dinner with him last night." He slid his phone over to Kurt and there Blaine was, looking healthy and laughing.

"So this is a ruse so he can cheat on me?" Kurt pushed it back, he'd had the eye patch on the table, it was not doctored or taken earlier.

"No. It's a ruse to get into your pants." Sebastian held Kurt's gaze.

"Well, you better start explaining it all to me then."

"I'm sorry for my part in all this. I thought I was just going to flirt a little with an old friend to help him out. Actually meeting you put all that on it's head and it spun wildly out of control. I was just supposed to flirt with him a little and maybe ignore you a bit, get you fired up. Instead I found myself flirting with you and Blaine got increasingly jealous and going to new heights."

"Why go through with the ploy and then tell me?" Kurt didn't trust what Sebastian had to say, even if he had proof.

"I didn't realize he'd take it to this extent. Yes, it's selfish but he's playing it up and my reputation is being dragged through the mud. More importantly, playing along with him gave me excuses to come and see you. I hadn't realized how much pressure you were under by your friends to be with him though. I didn't want you to feel like you had to give him a pity fuck, especially not during your first time."

"Instead you just want to tear down the entire relationship, tell me everything I've ever known about him has been a lie or carefully crafted to present in a certain way?"

"Better now than before he gets his way and hurts you worse." Sebastian ran a hand through his hair. "I know, I'm a selfish ass for telling you this at all, especially now."

"Yeah, you are." Kurt's lips twisted. "But you're the only one who's been honest with me, even if the way you do it has been hurtful at times." Again, he reminded him of Santana, she was always brutally honest with him when she thought he needed to hear something. She couldn't just tell him though when something came up, oh no, she had to wound him with it.

"To be fair, not all the Warblers know his true self either. He presents only what he wants to present to different people. I know the truth because he can't exactly hide the fact that we had a drunken hookup before I went to France. Even with me though, he's not completely honest, keeps parts of himself hidden or shrouded in secrets and lies. He's just a bit more free to be himself and say what he wants than with others."

"I thought that was the way the boyfriend was supposed to be viewed." Kurt took a shuddering breath, knowing his whole outlook and memory of events was going to be drastically altered. "Ok, start from the beginning."

In the end, he gave Sebastian far more than an hour. When Sebastian finished, Kurt was silent. He was silent for a very, very long time after. Sebastian cleared his throat, asked for the check, paid for both of them and then stood up. "I'll see you around, Kurt. You have my number if you have any questions or if I forgot something that I didn't realize I forgot."

"Yeah... yeah." Kurt was distracted by his thoughts and Sebastian walked by him to head out and he raised his hand to put on Kurt's shoulder and at the last minute thought better. He didn't ask for anything from Kurt and left, thinking other than when their schools mixed, he'd never see Kurt again.

Kurt broke up with Blaine a week after he returned to school, giving just enough time to not look heartless but still able to claim that it just didn't fit right anymore, having given it a chance.

"I thought you agreed we could renegotiate terms on territory our hands were going to go. You led me on, Kurt!" Blaine yelled at the end of class on the Friday that Kurt broke up with him.

"I know, I should have been clearer. The answer to territory is none. That's the new terms, you can't touch me or kiss me anywhere anymore."

"I saved you!" Blaine tried to argue. "This is the thanks I get?"

"You thought I would go down on you in my gratitude?" Kurt argued back, not getting closer, keeping the distance Blaine kept trying to impede.

"I thought you'd finally be my boyfriend in every way!" Blaine pushed Kurt up against the lockers, knee sliding between Kurt's legs as he pressed his mouth to Kurt's neck. "Maybe I just need to show you what you're missing."

Kurt grasped Blaine's hair and tried to pull his head away. "This is a train that has long since left the station with no intention of coming back." Kurt told him firmly. "You lost out on the ticket to ride when you started lying to me. I can forgive nearly everything but lies. Now, let me go, this is over."

"Kurt-."

"You heard him." Santana grabbed the back of Blaine's shirt, pulling him away from Kurt. "We've already had one asshat drive him out of here, we're not going to let another one do the same."

"This is Sebastian's fault!" Blaine complained, arms crossed over his chest and Santana lifted a brow while Kurt straightened his clothes out. She could believe a lot of that but unsure how it fit just now.

"This is your fault, you brought him into our lives on purpose. You lied. I would never have judged you for your past but you're clearly the one ashamed of it. You need to work on yourself."

"Move on." Santana waved him off with her hand bent and her fingers flicked him away.

Blaine huffed. "You need me in Glee."

"Maybe, but we'd survive without you, somehow." Santana crossed her arms. "But we don't need you anywhere else. So take your gelmet out of here and I never want to see you near my boy again."

Blaine looked passed her to Kurt and assessed Kurt's feelings. He threw his arms up and stormed off. "Have fun at Sectionals without me!"

"Think he'll go back to Dalton and rejoin them?" Santana asked, Blaine had amassed a lot of their 'secrets'.

Kurt smirked. "I have a feeling that if he tries, he'll find a not very sympathetic crowd."

"Really? Are you sure you want to let him go? You're basically throwing him into the Venus flytrap. You may never get him back."

The smirk grew. "Who do you think told me the truth? It certainly wasn't Blaine."

"Sure you believe him?" Santana was still watching Blaine stalk off. He had a long hallway to get down before he reached the exit.

"Yeah, I am." Kurt said softly.

Santana looked to Kurt now. "I'm glad you told me."

"I'm glad you believed me." Kurt said ruefully.

"I didn't want another Karofsky incident." She admitted. "You coming to me was so different than that time that I had to sit up and listen." She pulled the tape recorder and tape she had recorded on when she'd confronted Sebastian. "He had a little something to say too, I get it more now." She waved it around. "Might as well toss it, since it's now useless."

"No, let me take it." Kurt ignored the fact that it has been between her boobs and hadn't been sanitized. "I might find a use for this yet."

She smirked. "Wanky."

Kurt opened his mouth to tell her off and then closed it just long enough for a smile to cross his lips. "You know, I hadn't thought of that."

"Wait, Kurt!" She protested when he too turned and started to head out. "The stinky slutty meerkat isn't good enough for you! He's too experienced."

"Blaine was just fine, huh?" Kurt turned to her but started walking backwards wagging his finger at her. "See how well that one turned out." He ended up more experienced than anyone knew. "At least I know what I'm getting myself in for with Sebastian. As you and Puck like to point out, I need to get me some experience, well, might as well go and do that." He wiggled his eyebrows and spun on his heel to run when he saw that she was gearing up to take off after him. "Don't worry, Santana, I won't jump him today." He laughed and bolted out of the halls of McKinley with her hot on his heels. She didn't manage to catch him.

EAN: Sorry, LOVED the scene but have absolutely NO idea why they even included it or what they gained out of it even if they didn't end the scene with the slushy. Both teams would have thought they won because they totally did different things. (Hence Santana and Sebastian's argument after Smooth Criminal). In 'canon' Blaine's so all over the map with Sebastian. "He's harmless" and then "I'm going to be pissed off at him and get in his face" to "oh he's fine" to "I'm so mad" to "yeah he nearly blinded me but he apologized, lols, let's be family friendly texting now". I swear either the writers were high when they wrote for Blaine or the character of Blaine was or Darren Bless him, had no idea of how to consistent with his face/character motivation. I love Darren but OMG Blaine! BTW if you watch the Bad clip in super slow mode- it's super awesome! Also, Kurt wasn't even in that battle at all really except in shadow profile and at the end. But yay, Rory was in it! Sam doesn't even look like Sam. I think the ND would have looked just a bit more intimating (like really intimidating) if Quinn didn't wear that 1950s dress. And Mike totally sells the ND as a dance off team, Puck has a few moments too! The Warblers did great, right on point and looked intimidating with their precision but there were a lot of faces and I honestly have never found that uniform that attractive on any of them. I think maybe Blaine wore it best? (and I love uniforms on men, sooo hot.) In my head-canon the uniforms don't look like they do here, maybe a bit more a mix of HP meets any other school uniform, really, lol. If you pause the video of the longer clip with the talking in the beginning at 2:31, you can tell that the slushy was meant for Blaine. It show it's meant for Kurt but there's no way it would have ever hit him with the angles and everything in the actual clip.

EAN2: There are things that I couldn't fit into this 'shot/short' that I might come back to in another shot in the future, but I don't know, I kind of like where this ends and I can always use the stuff I couldn't put in into something else.
