Yazmine's P.O.V.
Two days have passed; Jasmine has been holding up better than I thought — until this morning. Her temperature has jumped to 105°, and she sleeps most of the time. She doesn't know anyone comes into the room.
"Well, time for the next step?" Jadin asks.
"Yes, let's let them save —."
"Oh fuck, she's having a seizure!"
I originally was going to kill her, but Jadin is right; watching her suffer was better. Now her boyfriend and the other Autobots will suffer with her. I don't have to say anything, as Jadin tries to protect Jasmine from harming herself.
"There's nothing we can do without treating the cause."
"Glad I saved our useless help's phones," I use a cell phones to send our location, "let's go!"
Ratchet's P.O.V.
I can't believe what I'm hearing, but it's hard to be happy considering how injured Jasmine could be in the hands of Yazmine for two weeks.
"We must prepare for the possibility Yazmine has set a trap," Optimus explains, "why else would she give us her location?"
We're liking the rest of the Graham family is on vacation, even if this leaves us one more Autobot short for this mission.
"So glad we use capsules," Jolt says, "who knows what she'll need immediately."
I worry she'll need life support, worried she's dead.
The hideout is empty; it seems Yazmine planned to tell us where Jasmine is, but not to fight us is unusual, unless...
We find Jasmine in a cell, laying on the floor, and she looks awful.
"Jasmine," I say quietly and touch her wrist.
No! Don't- don't touch me!" she screams, flinching away from my touch; her eyes are wild. She breathes fast and shallow, her whole body trembling in uncontrollable fear.
"I will not hurt you," I assure her, gently taking her hand and holding it firmly. She looks at me, terrified, "listen to me. You're safe, and they will not hurt you again. I'm here now. Trust me, I won't let anybody hurt you."
I thought she'd yank my hand away in panic, but she relaxes a little, tears forming in her eyes.
"It's ok," I smile and lift her into a hug. I feel how weak she is, "it's ok, I'm here."
"R-Ratchet..."
"It's ok, it's ok, hold still, we're going to get you out of this, shhh you're fine, you're ok, just hold still, and we'll get you out."
I know she's not fine, but I need to calm her down. I don't know what is causing her to be this sick, so I'm not giving her a relaxant.
"Forget about an assessment; we need to get her out of her now," Jolt suggests.
He gets the capsule with the stretcher.
"I have to lift you up," I explain and lift Jasmine up and lay her on the stretcher. We find out the others are waiting for us. Lennox and Epps take over wheeling the stretcher so we can deactivate our holoforms.
We rushed to the medbay, but Jasmine is still panicking.
"I'm right here," I assure her as I take her hand. She's terrified and keeps her eyes closed, "It's alright, sweetheart, open your eyes for me," she does as I ask, "good job, ok, I'm just going to shine this light in your eyes..."
She doesn't like the light, and I have to have Jolt keep her eyes open.
"It's ok; we're trying to help you," he assures her.
We watch her eyes roll back, and convulsions begin.
"Scrap," I panic.
What did they do to you? Forget not using drugs; I have to stop the seizure.
I hate how scared Jasmine is once the seizure ends. I keep her calm as Jolt takes her vitals.
"Go ahead, go to sleep if you want to," I tell her when he finishes. I cover her with a blanket as she closes her eyes.
"This is bad; 105° F temperature, 110 BPM, and high blood pressure," Jolt tells me, "I'll go examine the blood sample."
At least I can help bring her temperature down. We need to know what poison Yazmine injected, if that was her plan, before giving Jasmine medicine. I have Jasmine on a little oxygen.
Jolt's P.O.V.
No one will like hearing our findings, but Ratchet will not like what the blood analysis reveals. There is likely worse, but this is serious and can get worse.
Lennox and Prime come by before I can tell Ratchet what I found. They dislike what Ratchet and I discovered. The three mechs are horrified by what I found. Ratchet agrees we should put Jasmine in a medically induced coma. I know this is going to be hard for him.
"I love you; I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you," he cries as he falls to his knees.
The last time Prime and I saw this was at Compass' funeral, the day he told me he'd never fall in love again.
Optimus and Lennox go tell Damian and Ryley the news while I do what I can to support Ratchet. I don't want to be the only one taking care of his girlfriend.
Three hours later
Ratchet's P.O.V.
Laying on the bed alone in the room, it's hard not to think Jasmine could die. Yazmine did enough damage that the Energon struggled to help her unless her body suddenly rejected the Energon. I don't know why she's this sick or if an Energon infusion will help — or maybe I'm afraid to because she's my girlfriend?
"You know she's a fighter," Compass says as she appears, "you can't focus on my death than helping her."
"She shouldn't be this sick with the Energon in her blood; there's nothing I can do without adding to the chance she'll die."
"Stay strong, Ratchet; she needs you, her little sister needs you."
And with that, Compass disappears.
There has to be something else for Jasmine to be this sick. I don't know if I can say her mental state played a role to the point Energon couldn't help her fast enough. It's my fault for not researching when I had the time.
