Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
My plan to wait until today to talk to Ratchet and Rung failed. It's not noon, and I'm assigned to join Mirage on a mission.
I don't even have time to ask Jasmine if she'll be ok working out with Sideswipe. I know this seems silly, but I don't think she can tolerate a change like Sideswipe working out with her yet. Then there's that human, Martha Hen. Not a great time to be assigned to go on a mission. No way I can object either. I trust Sideswipe to talk to Ratchet and Rung as I instruct.
Do you think I can't take care of her? I thought we were both Audrey and Jasmine's guards. Sideswipe asks through the bond.
I don't know if Jasmine can handle it. Even though we're both with her. I can't explain it.
Ok, I'll talk to them.
What a terrible time to need to go on a mission.
Sideswipe's P.O.V.
This is strange that Sunstreaker is worried about Jasmine. I know it's not a sign that he's changing his ways, but caring for someone other than me is a big step. Add Audrey is a human baby. Jasmine, being a hybrid likely doesn't make a difference. Sunstreaker still sees her as a human.
I'm happy Sarah and William brought the twins here, and that'll distract Jasmine so I can talk to Ratchet and Rung. I hope they'll listen to me even if these are Sunstreaker's questions and ideas.
"Hmm, what he's thinking isn't strange," Rung comments, "it's strange he figured it out. Starting with limited time working out and studying can be a big help. I don't think she's ready for work or military training yet. I don't know if she's suicidal, so Ironhide's class is definitely off limits."
"And because of the physical torture, she can't get back high-intensity workouts," Ratchet adds, "I see what Sunstreaker is thinking."
Ratchet continues to be amazed at how well Sunstreaker thinks about Jasmine's recovery.
"Are we sure this is your brother?" Rung jokes.
Audrey and the twins stare at each other.
"See? Too young for play dates," Sarah points out, "but I think these three will be best friends."
On cue, the three babies smile. The twins babble like they're agreeing.
"So we will have the terror triplets?" I joke
"Oh boy, I hope not," Sarah smiles.
Jasmine smiles, hearing the joke.
Martha's P.O.V.
My employers are not pleased that Sunstreaker suspects I'm an insider, and got the spy involved. Even with them gone for a few days, my task may be in jeopardy. Sideswipe still questions if Sunstreaker is right, but he might not let Jasmine be with me alone.
I have to catch her alone first. Trap her in my room where no one will suspect she's there. I don't think Jasmine suspects anything. The problem is, I only have two days to tear her down.
I have to wait until the afternoon before Jasmine is alone. She thinks I'm looking to spend time with her and comes to my room.
We watch m T.V. for a while before I start a conversation, trying to get Jasmine to talk about her family before Yazmine caused the accident that started all this. I didn't even have to get her to talk about the accident or what Yazmine did to their parents. She's setting herself up for the insults I have in mind.
"... I can't believe Yazmine did all this," Jasmine finishes.
"The problem is you think you're so perfect! It's your fault your parents are dead, and your sister hates you! Your fault she kicked your parents! She should at least kidnap Audrey and let another family adopt Audrey if she can't kill you! You'll ruin Audrey's life!"
The look on Jasmine's face is pleasing. I yell at her to get out of my room before informing my employers that the job is done.
Sideswipe's P.O.V.
I left Jasmine alone in her room for a half-hour, but I didn't think Jasmine would be this upset, laying on the bed and crying. It's troubling that she's styled by my touch.
"Hey, what happened?"
"They're going to kidnap Audrey!"
Scrap, I think I know what happened.
I text Optimus, Ratchet, and Rung in a group chat, even if I only tell Optimus he needs to prevent Martha Hen from leaving the base.
I hope he'll stop her from leaving even though I didn't give a reason.
Ratchet and Rung are here in less than five minutes. They let me stay, seeing Jasmine hugging me. I dread knowing she will not move to hug Ratchet.
"Get Ryley," Rung instructs Ratchet, "Audrey is safe," he tries to assure Jasmine.
I hate that I don't know what to do to help Jasmine.
Sideswipe, what's going on?! Sunstreaker asks through the bond.
I suspect the femme you suspected of being an insider hurt Jasmine, and she thinks Audrey will be kidnapped.
Scrap, I fear a plan to attack the base is in place and likely soon, like tomorrow.
I need to warn Optimus, Lennox, Red Alert, and Prowl.
"Sideswipe, you can leave," Rung tells me, but this sounds more like an order to leave rather than letting me know I could leave.
I dread leaving, but I can't argue.
"I know I have no proof, but I fear Martha Hen is an insider and a plan to attack the base is in place," I argue to Optimus, "I know the fact my brother and the spy on a mission isn't strong proof either."
"Alert Red Alert and Prowl," Optimus instructs Lennox, "and prepare for a possible attack."
I'm hoping this will happen after Mirage and Sunstreaker return. Being wrong would be better, for Jasmine's sake.
"This isn't a prison! I can leave whenever I want!" Martha rages as guards keep her from exiting the building.
"I can forbid you from leaving," Lennox argues, "and I can search your room if I suspect you of doing a crime. If you're going to fight me, I can send you to the brig."
Lennox immediately orders Martha to be sent to the brig and for me to search her room.
Martha left her phone in her room, but the phone is locked. Que and Wheeljack should be able to unlock the phone. I find other evidence, like a book on psychology with several pages bookmarked.
"This should be easy," Wheeljack comments and takes Martha's phone.
Wheeljack unlocks the phone and removes the password protection within ten minutes. I take the phone to show Optimus m
Optimus Prime's P.O.V.
I have Sideswipe go back to Jasmine and Ratchet's room while Lennox, Red Alert, Prowl, and I look at the contents of Martha's phone. We find many calls to and from Yazmine and text messages. This is troubling, but what's more of a concern is that Martha was in contact with Jadin. We suspect that the two femmes are working together.
"If an attack is planned, then this just got a lot more serious," Prowl points out.
Ratchet has informed us that Martha told Jasmine that Audrey should be taken from her. We don't know what kind of attack Jadin and Yazmine are planning, but we must protect Audrey and Jasmine.
This is a terrible time for our front liner to be away.
