"Levi!"

Spotting the Captain, I called out my best friend's name and he instantly spun towards my voice. I sailed down towards his worried expression and stumbled the last few steps to him. We grabbed at each other's arms tightly and our eyes raked over the other.

"Wall Maria, you're badly hurt." My eyes zoomed in over his face, not only scratched but bleeding profusely over one eye. I quickly swung my green wings over my shoulder and used the tip to roughly wipe away as much blood as I could. The Corporal winced and swore colourfully. I used my grip on him to hold him still, frowning.

"Don't move. How the hell would you see out of that eye otherwise?"

"Tch."

Thankfully, Levi obeyed, stilling long enough for me to wipe away most of the damage. Further cleaning and I sighed in relief. Luckily Levi's actual eye was okay but the skin above his eye had been deeply cut. Suddenly, the Captain stiffened, glaring at something behind me, his eyes turning into daggers. I unsheathed my blades instantly and spun around. A horrified Investigator Fuji raised both of his blades in defence, crossed over his chest and face.

"Fucking Military-" Levi spat and cocked back an arm.

"Wait." I sternly warned, lifting my own right arm and blocking Levi's movements. "It's Fuji."

"Fuji?" The snarl on Levi's face didn't falter as he glared at one of my friends.

"The Investigator I was paired with in the MP. Weapon down, Levi, he won't hurt us."

"How do you know?"

Now it was my turn to glare at the Captain.

"You wouldn't be here if Fuji didn't help me with the case. Drop it Ackerman." I retorted, my patience wearing thin.

"It's all right Hazura. I guess rumours of the Survey Corps Captain Levi being untrusting were true." Fuji shrugged and sheathed one of his blades as I walked up to him.

Levi growled. "You little-"

"Shut it, the both of you! We have enough problems to deal with than your smart little remarks." I snapped and glared at Levi over my shoulder, my patience now non-existent. "In case you haven't noticed, we're being hunted like animals here. Can you tell me anything useful Fuji?" Swinging my stern gaze back to Fuji, I raised an eyebrow, daring him to retort to Levi. Luckily, he got the message.

"Only the Military Police Interior squad have modified gun 3DMG, they call it the Anti-Personnel ODM, but the entire Military Police department has been ordered to arrest Survey Corps members on sight. Commander Erwin's currently being held in a room guarded by multiple MP officers, although I have no idea where. I've heard on the grapevine that Eren and Historia are the targets, something about for the greater Humanity. Also, the Interior Police have a new head named Kenny Ackerman. Also have no idea where he came from."

I glanced at Levi, who had stiffened in discomfort. So he had a past with this Kenny guy. I slapped Fuji on the shoulder.

"Stay out of the bloodshed, I don't want to see you get hurt."

"Call me a wimp but I wouldn't want to come across one of you Survey Corps in this situation. Hopefully I'll see on the other side of this shit, Hazura." Fuji smiled wistfully, patting my arm in return.

"Right back at you Fuji."

With that last farewell, Fuji nodded and took off, flying around the corner.

"So where were you going, before we were rudely interrupted?" Levi approached from behind, his voice low. My eyes darted at our surroundings.

"I was trying to lose the three MPs on my trail and attempt to meet up with one of you. I take it you lost Eren and Historia along the way?" I turned to face Levi, who was frowning heavily.

"Fucking Kenny, what the fuck is he doing with the Military Police?" Levi's hands clenched tighter on his blades as he muttered to himself.

"I'll take that as a yes. So let's find Rome and figure out things from-"

There was a loud commotion before a galloping pair of horses flew by the end of our street. Hot on its heels were several MPs and Survey soldiers.

"Eren!" yelled Mikasa and the black-haired beauty soared past the street opening. Levi took off without another word, leaving me in the dust. I blinked from the sudden but lucky turn of events.

"I guess we'll just figure out a plan on the way." Shrugging to myself, I began sprinting before heaving myself up into the air, gassing myself forwards. Two MPs shot by me, gunning after Mikasa and Sasha, who flew up ahead. Making a sharp turn, I joined the chase, lagging behind.

"Hazura!"

Jack's voice called out to me, followed by the man himself, falling into line beside me. I flicked my head at the MP on the right and then to the one on the left.

"Yours. Mine."

"Check."

We split up immediately. As I advanced on the female MP from her blind left side, I noticed both of her arms raising, guns at the ready. Deciding to take the short cut, I aimed and fired out a grappling hook directly at the fleeing MP. The metal claws dug into her shoulder, ripping a scream from the officer. I flinched at the ear-piercing screech and twitched my finger, reeling the woman towards me. Cocking back my right arm, I slashed at her throat, quickly cutting the sound short. Blood erupted from the fatal wound and I swiftly ducked my head. Most of it missed, save a few spots landing on my green Wings of Freedom. My face crumpled into an expression of disgust at the thought of having to wash that out later.

"Hazura!"

My head jerked up to the sound and caught a glimpse of Jack waving his arm frantically before pointing to our right. He made a few hand signals and I nodded in acknowledgement, joining him as we departed from Levi's group.

My own team needed help and I'd be damned if I didn't help them.
