Following Jack's direction, we soon encountered Sophie and Brian tailed by a separate small group of Military Police. With the four of us, we made quick work of them before resuming our chase after Eren and Historia. We rounded the corner as a unit, gas erupting from our 3DMG. By now, the townspeople were either in a state of shock or in a state of panic. I couldn't blame them, with dead military personnel falling out of the sky and with the government in ruins.
"Eren!"
Mikasa's distressed voice called from beneath and I spotted Levi holding her back. The black-haired beauty struggled in his grip, pure desperation emitting from her aura. Moving my gaze, I followed Mikasa's line of sight to the wooden wagon disappearing through Wall Sina.
Eren and Historia. Shit.
After all our hard work and lives lost, we couldn't afford to lose that wagon. I gritted my teeth. Levi stopped Mikasa for a reason and if Kenny and the Interior Military Police were any indication, entering Wall Sina could be deadly. However, some lives were more important than others. We needed both Eren and Historia and handing them to the government was not an option. My mind raced but I soon landed on the best, and yet the worst, possible route of action.
"Sophie, Steve, stay with Levi! The rest of you, come with me! We're going over." I barked.
"Yes sir!"
There was the metal wire reeling as the S-partners abruptly cut from us, turning directly towards Levi. I swapped glances with the Corporal before my group rounded the corner and headed to the north wall.
"You do know that the north wall is probably swarming with MPs right now, don't you?" called Brian as we weaved between the chimneys.
"We just need to take them out of action long enough for us to get over. Once we enter Wall Sina, they'll leave us." I replied, my mind racing for a plan. "Who wants to hold down the fort and doesn't mind kicking some MPs in the gut?"
"Ooh, I'll do it! I've always wanted to show off in front of the Garrison."
"They'll most likely out-show you if anything." Linda chuckled, twisting gracefully around a plume of chimney smoke.
"Pffft, I'll show them."
"Then here's your chance to prove it." I commented, as we hit the wall running. Gas and wires erupted from our gear as we pulled ourselves up the north wall of Sina, and at a speed so shooting wouldn't be so easy.
"Spread out so they can't focus on one point! Take them down and once Brian has them locked, we go over! Clear?"
"Crystal!"
My foot finally reached the edge and I vaulted over the side, blades out and ready. Multiple officers looked up at the intrusion, a mix of Garrison guards and Military Police. Only half of them moved, the MPs drawing out their guns. With a grunt, I hurled one of my blades at them, miraculously managing to catch them right in the arm. The bullet went wild, thankfully missing all of my squad.
Shit went nuts once we landed.
The Military officers yelled and charged. Guns were drawn. Some Garrison ducked for their lives, confused and basically terrified of what the hell was happening. The Special Ops went to work.
I quickly approached an unaware MP and knocked him hard on the back of his head. He dropped like a doll. His colleague yelled in anger, twisted to aim at me. I ducked and rolled, finally kicking at the man's knees. He buckled, shot at the clouds. My blade ran across his back, slicing easily through the Green Military Horse and just grazing the flesh underneath. If I were to finish anyone's life, it would fast and as painless as I could manage. Instead, I brought the blunt side of my blade to the man's side. His fear of a sharp blade forced him to stagger sideways. Ready to attack again, I gripped handle and unsheathed another sword. However, imagine my face when three Garrison guards pounced on top, squashing – excuse me, detaining – the military police officers. I merely blinked from the interruption, too shocked to do anything.
"Go! We got this!"
My head swivelled to Brian's voice and spotted him tying up a few MPs already. Garrison guards sat on the others, littered around him. I grinned. At least we had the support from most of the Garrison. I nodded in acknowledgement and slapped the Garrison guard currently sitting on my MP on the shoulder in thanks.
"Linda! Jack! Let's roll!" I yelled and began sprinting towards the Sina city. My two comrades raised from their positions and together we leapt from the edge of Wall Sina. I whirled around in case there would be a loose shooter and got the full satisfying view of the highest military department being crushed by the Corps and Garrison. Brian saluted briefly, tapping his fist to his chest.
Good luck.
I grinned and did the same in response before dropping out of his sight.
"Officers at our 10 o'clock!" Linda warned, flicking her head in that direction. Without speaking further, the three of us veered to our right and disappeared into the city.
