HERE COMES MY FAV PART! I really enjoyed this scene in the AoT anime (as if you couldn't tell, I am a Levi bias) ahaha XD
Enjoy!
"Are you sure you're okay, Levi? I can start dragging him if you're tired." I offered, shooting a look to the still-unconscious MP.
"It's fine." He gruffly answered and continued to easily pull the body up the hill. I sighed and remained by his side as we trekked up through the grass, my blades still out in my hands. With Levi's hands full with the MP, I acted as the defence, in case any other officers followed us out. There was a groan as the head MP officer began to regain consciousness. Luckily, it wasn't long before we trudged over the top, alerting the rest of our team. Swords were drawn and bows cocked, ready for the intruders.
"It's just us." Levi announced and with one last heave, tossed the awake officer onto the ground in front of us. Face ragged, hair a mess, teeth already missing – and that was before Levi actually did anything major to him.
"Corporal…he…" Armin mused, eyes wide at the disheveled officer.
"Is with the Interior Police. I have a few questions for him. If anyone knows about the whereabouts of Eren, it would be him."
I glanced over back at the compound site, squinting to try and spot any reinforcements coming in.
"We better get moving to a more secluded spot. They'll search the immediate area when they get here." I suggested and began moving towards where we left the horses. Everyone else followed, our paces quickening as we saw the animals. Steve swiftly tossed the exhausted MP onto Levi's horse, helped tie him to it before leaping onto his own. With a flick of the reins, our group rode off further into the forest.
Finally stopping among another slanted hilltop, we all jumped off our horses and began legging it further away into the darkness. Evening had fallen over us and by the time Levi thought it was a good place to stop, it was basically night. Murmuring a few words among themselves, the 104th spread out around Levi and the MP, keeping an eye out for any followers, using the trees and bushes as cover. Unsure of what else to do, Steve and I went to join them.
"Hazura."
I paused at Levi's voice and glanced over my shoulder at him. He didn't turn to face me, staring down the MP he had tossed by the base of a tree.
"I may need your help. How are your skills of interrogation?'
Without a word, I made eye contact with Steve and flicked my head upwards. Getting the signal, he reeled himself up into the leaves and joined the 104th in surveillance.
"Not bad." I sighed and wandered back towards Levi. "My little stunt in the MP taught me a few tricks if you need some inspiration."
I pulled out a blade and whipped it around, gently pricking the MP's neck. Despite the angry glare he gave me, his body was sweating like it was summer.
"But I'm sure you have everything under control, Corporal." Shooting Levi a smirk, I shot out a wire and pulled myself up into the leaves.
"Tch."
Chuckling quietly at his response, I made myself comfortable on the branch, one leg swinging off into the air and the other bent on the branch to keep myself stable. Now at ease, I let my gaze sweep lazily across the hill and the surrounding lands.
"Ack!"
My ears picked up yet another sound of a boot connecting to a body and said body colliding to the tree trunk. I didn't have to look down to know Levi was beating the crap out of that Interior MP. Thinking on what they had done to the rest of our precious Scouting Legion, my free hand curled into a fist. If I ever had a crack at that guy…
"Where are Eren and Christa?" Levi growled.
"Look at you, acting like the hero. That checkpoint back there was nothing but recruits who could barely clean up their own shit. You feel superior for beating them down?" spat out the officer, a slight mumble to his speech. After all those punches and kicks, I'd be surprised if his mouth was still in one piece.
"What an atrocious thing we've done." Levi deadpans before there was a muffled yell. Looking down, Levi literally had his boot shoved into the man's mouth.
I raised an eyebrow. Interesting method…
As if he could hear my thoughts, the Captain waved me down while still eyeing his boot. Considering the invitation, I hopped down.
"But what's more atrocious is this mouth of yours." He continued.
"I'd have to agree with the Captain here. It's even worse than was before we got to you." I pitched in and leaned against a nearby tree to observe the session. The MP ignored me, hands grasping at Levi's boot.
"I recommend you start talking while you're still able to use it. Levi." I called.
At his name, my friend yanked his shoe out and the MP spluttered out a mixture of saliva and blood all over the ground. I gave him a couple of seconds to recuperate.
"Where are Eren and Christa?" I demanded. Hands hovering around his mouth in pain, the MP still managed to talk.
"It's no use. The best thing for you to do is to run and hide, covered in mud and shit. If you don't turn yourselves in, every one of those Scouts we've captured will all face the noose. Starting with the one most guilty - Erwin Smith!"
At the name of our close friend and Commander, Levi snapped, surging forward. Swiftly grabbing the MP's arm, Levi twisted it behind their back and broke the bones like a twig. The sound resonated through the silent woods, followed by a howl of pain.
"Shut the fuck up. That's for not answering my question." Levi snarled. "More scouts lives are more valuable than others - only those dumb enough to acknowledge that join us. Tell us where Eren and Christa are."
By now, the man was crying, his body beaten and shivering.
"I don't know! I'm not allowed to know! Kenny Ackermann is a very cautious man. He doesn't tell us anything!"
My eyes instantly widened at the familiar name. Even Levi dropped the arm and stepped back in surprise, the MP panting in pain. Out of the corner of my eye, Mikasa herself had frozen on the spot, staring intensely into space in front of her. Same family name…how was that possible?
"Ackermann?" I spoke up and pushed off the tree, strolling over. "I know Kenny. Is Ackermann his last name?"
"It is but..."
"True, there's a lot of things he doesn't divulge, especially the important facts. In any case, you must have a rough idea of where Eren and Christa were taken." Levi shook himself out of the trance and grabbed a handful of the man's shoulder-length hair. "You best try to remember."
"Stop it!"
He gripped the MP's other arm with his free hand. "You still have plenty of bones to break."
Tears and sweat pouring down his face, the MP's eyes were wide with panic and fear.
"You-you're insane!"
Levi didn't flinch, still as stone. "Maybe I am."
Then there was a slight noise to our right as Sasha cocked her bow and arrow.
"Someone's coming from the east!" she exclaimed.
Everyone launched into action, diving for cover among the bushes or pressing themselves against the trees. Levi leapt from his position, taking the officer down and landing on top the body. I quickly sidestepped the pair, unsheathing my other blade and shoving my shoulder against the tree trunk. Making sure I partly shielded Levi, who was currently vulnerable, I scrutinised the dark landscape.
"More than one!" Sasha clipped out, arrow pointing in the general direction.
"I told you Captain." Declared the MP, speaking through his damaged mouth. "It's no use. The Scouts will come to an end, one way or another."
