Coco: Hey, guys, I'm sorry. I know it's been...a while. Unfortunately, my family, friends, and I have suffered two recent deaths. One was an old childhood friend who sadly took her life. Then a week after her death, on the night of her funeral, my cousin shot himself and took his own life as she had done. I had to travel out of state for his funeral and things have just been a bit crazy, and I just haven't felt like writing. I guess, I didn't realize how much time had passed either since my last update.

But as you can see, I have a chapter for you today, and as for my other stories, I will get back to working on them, I promise. I even started a new story once I felt like writing again. It's a little off base what I normally do. It's not anime, but still animated-it's a story in the Young Justice universe that just wrapped up it's third season. I just really like the show, and I needed something new to kind of get me back into a writing mood. In fact, my late friend liked the show as well, so I thought it'd be fun to write my own story with it. I do have a chapter ready to post, so be looking out for it, if you're interested.

Now, without further ado, let's begin.

Ayano looked up at the building in front of her as the sidekick, who had picked her up at the station, held open the car door for her. She stepped fully out of the car while keeping her eyes on the building.

'So, this is Nighteye's hero agency.' Ayano thought before speaking out loud. "Thank-you, Centipeder-san."

Centipeder nodded his head before heading towards the building's entrance. Ayano took that as her que to follow, which she did as she clutched her suitcase, which held her hero costume, in hand. She would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous. While this might be an internship, this would be her first real start at getting into actual hero work. She couldn't afford to mess up and she had to learn as much as she could while she was here. When she returned back to class, she wanted to see a difference in herself.

"Sir, is waiting to meet you in his office," Centipeder spoke over his shoulder as they walked into the building. "From what I understand, you will spend have of your first day inside the office. Once our other student intern arrives for his work studies, you'll be hitting the streets."

As the sidekick spoke, Mirio's smiling face appeared in Ayano's mind. So, once he showed up, she'd work with him out on the streets of the city.

'Would it be under Nighteye's supervision?' Ayano wondered.

As if hearing her unasked question, Centipeder turned to look over his shoulder to answer her.

"Sir will be sure to be with you today, but if you prove to be capable, he'll allow you to patrol the streets with Lemillion—the other student—without one of us with you." Centipeder informed her as he stepped into an elevator once pressing the button for the door to open. "Lemillion has his hero license, so he can take action if needed and as long as you are with him, you are allowed to help out with his permission. But nothing too over the top. You don't have your hero license, after all."

Centipeder hit the button for the third floor as Ayano stepped into the elevator with him.

"I understand," Ayano said nodding. "I will do my best not to slow anyone down."

Centipeder seemed to grin at her words, but it was a little too hard for Ayano to tell for certain. She couldn't allow that to happen. She would show how capable she is to them and to herself. The doors shut to the elevator to take the two up.

"You'll do fine," Centipeder said confidentially. "I saw how you did in the festival. You have great talent."

Ayano was a bit surprised by his acknowledgement of her skills. Even if he hasn't seen her in action up close and in person. Though his words did bring a small smile to her face.

"Thank you very much, sir." Ayano said.

Centipeder nodded as the elevator came to a stop and they stepped out once the doors opened. They walked in silence for the rest of the way. Centipeder finally stopped in front of a door while giving a knock as Ayano stopped behind him. Ayano heard someone call them in, and she waited patiently as Centipeder opened the door before stepping inside the office. He motioned her in after him, so she stepped through the door.

The room was incredibly dim, and Ayano had to squint her eyes as she tried to adjust them to the darkness. The only light came from a lone computer screen, which set on a desk to the side of the room. Who sat there was a lanky man with green hair with two yellow streaks. He was turned away from the computer with his piercing eyes set on Ayano.

'So, this is Sir Nighteye.' Ayano thought. 'He's certainly…intimidating.'

She thought Aizawa had a piercing stare, but Nighteye looked as if he was truly seeing right through her.

"Sir, as I am sure you are aware, this is Ishida Ayano from U.A's hero course first years—Class 1-A." Centipeder introduced.

Nighteye said nothing at first, so Ayano took it upon herself to step forward to speak.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, sir." Ayano said bowing to the man. "I am honored by your invitation to intern here under your guidance. I promise to give it my all as I learn from you this week we have together."

Once again, Nighteye said nothing, which caused Ayano to mentally frown as she lifted her head to meet his gaze. She knew he had to be testing her for something, but she wasn't sure what. She could peek inside his head she supposed, but she wanted to try avoiding doing such a thing on their first meeting. Besides, he has psychic based powers too—meaning he'd most likely be able to tell if she went searching for information inside his head. It was silent for many—what seemed like eternity—moments more as Ayano began to wonder just how long he'd keep up the silent game.

"Why are you so serious?" He finally asked her. "Someone your age should really know how to smile."

Ayano blinked in confusion at his words. He was silent for so long, and that's what he decides to open with. This man was going to be a tricky one to understand.

"Heroes are meant to bring happiness and a sense of peace to the citizens around them," Nighteye went on. "How do you expect to do that? I can already tell you aren't a smiler."

Ayano was left a bit speechless. She wasn't sure how to respond, and behind her, Centipeder sighed. He knew this was coming. He just hopes Nighteye didn't use that technique to get the kid to smile. Last time Nighteye did it to Bubble Girl, his fellow sidekick nearly wet herself. Nighteye then waved off his sidekick, so Centipeder left the two alone as Ayano finally found her voice.

"I'm sorry?" Ayano finally replied though it came out as a question.

Nighteye just narrowed his eyes a bit more at first before turning away from the girl back to the screen of his computer.

"While you might have your father's same deadpan expression, you're certainly more polite than him." Nighteye said.

Ayano was once again confused. Her father—the one who raised her anyway—was a very cheerful man. He was almost worse than Ko when it came to being goofy and emotional.

"I am not speaking of Ishida Gokuri." Nighteye said bluntly. "I am speaking of your biological father. You both share such dull expressions."

Deciding to ignore the comment that indicated Nighteye knew her biological father, Ayano frowned.

'It doesn't seem as if this man practices what he preaches,' She thought.

Nighteye's expression was the most expressionless of the two of them. She couldn't get a read on what he was feeling at all. She could also see their first conversation wasn't going as well as she hoped. Ayano then happened to catch sight of Nighteye's All Might collection, which had her turning her heads completely towards it. She thought Izuku was a mega fan boy, but Nighteye was certainly there with him.

As she looked at the collection, a photo on the desk under the collection, caught her eye. It, of course, was a picture of the very hero Nighteye seemed to idolize, but also two faces she didn't know. One looked eerily like her own, and belonged to an older woman with the same shade of hair as Ayano. She had a large smile on her face, which was a complete contrast to the white-haired man who looked ruffled and annoyed.

As she stared at it, Nighteye watched her from the corner of his eye. Ayano stepped over towards the photo as if compelled before she finally stopped in front of it. She stared at the two figures while having a feeling she knew exactly who they were. Logically, she could figure out the woman was her mother. The two were basically twins even if the other woman in the photo was definitely older, and the white-haired man's expression…did remind her of her own annoyed expression, which she wore often around a certain blonde.

Not only that but she felt as if she knew these two. But she felt as if that was impossible. She was still a baby when adopted into the Ishida Family. She should feel any recognition whatsoever with the two in the photo, but she did.

"So, you knew my parents," She said casually.

She didn't know what else to say. What she did know was that this was the last thing she was expecting when choosing to come here, but it seemed as if there was a reason. This all had to mean something…didn't it?

"Yes," Nighteye replied. "And yes, they are partially the reason I sent out the invitation for you to come here and intern."

Ayano who had opened her mouth to ask the question he already answered, such her mouth once more.

"Another reason is because out of all the hero agencies available to you first years, mine is the only one with the means needed to help you develop a quirk such as your own." Nighteye continued.

Ayano tilted her head at his words as the man typed away on his computer to continue the work he had been doing before her arrival.

"You said another reason—not the other reason," Ayano pointed out. "That means there's at least one other reason you asked me."

She said this without doubt, and Nighteye wasn't surprised she picked up on it.

"That is correct," Nighteye said. "However, I will not tell you that reason now. Perhaps if you impress me before the end of your internship, you will earn the right to know. The same goes with my connection to your parents."

'Challenge accepted,' Ayano thought.

She wasn't sure what all awaited her here or how the biological parents, who gave her up, came into play, but she'd play along with Nighteye for now. Besides, she came here to improve as a hero—not to get some kind of connection to her biological family from her past.

"Let's begin," Nighteye said as he finally stood. "First, we will see just how much you understand about the life of a hero. Starting with how hero agencies are run."

"Yes, sir," Ayano said while walking after the man.

She'd put aside her curiosity for now. She had work to get done and things to learn while she had the chance. She wondered if the others had reached their internships yet. If so, she knew they were probably jumping straight into work too.

Konan blinked as she watched Fatgum—her chosen mentor—eat another helping of ramen. She met him out on the streets since the hero had no actual agency of his own. But he was still willing to take in an intern, and while she and Fatgum most definitely had two separate fighting styles, she chose him as her mentor. Her first choice would have been Edgeshot, but the ninja-like hero wasn't taking interns.

So, she chose Fatgum to learn from a style completely different than her own. Fatgum was more of a frontal force kind of fighter, and Konan lacked in brute force. She supposed she could have joined Gunhead's agency to learn more about brute force. However, she wasn't interested in learning his special martial arts. Martial arts she knew just fine. Though she wasn't exactly learning anything now. Just that Fatgum really ate as much as people said, but it did go along with his quirk, so Konan supposed to was a good thing he liked to eat.

"Fatgum-san," Konan began.

"Yeah, Crane?" Fatgum asked using a shortened version of her hero name.

"I do not wish to sound pushy, but is there anything you can teach me while we're on the streets?" Konan inquired.

Fatgum didn't seem upset with her question. In fact, he seemed a bit amused.

"Don't worry, Crane." Fatgum said. "You'll be on the streets durin' your entire internship. Plenty of time to learn. Besides, this is also part of being a hero. Crime isn't going to be happen constantly."

Konan nodded in understanding, and honestly, it was good no one was in need of help, she supposed. Yes, she wanted to learn, but she didn't want someone hurt just to give her something to do. Fatgum then finished his ramen while thanking the vendor, who had been selling it. The man thanked the hero for his patronage before disposing of Fatgum's clutter for him.

"When it gets later in the day is when you'll see more crime," Fatgum explained as they started moving down the street once more. "Once night hits—is when most criminals strike. But that doesn't mean we can let our guard down during the day."

Konan nodded as she took his words and committed them to memory. She had to make sure to be vigilant at all times.

"But while the night patrolling is busier than the day, it has gotten more dangerous with the Hero Killer becoming more active." Fatgum warned with his tone turning a bit more serious. "He's reported in Hosu as of right now, and he seems to follow a strict pattern, which probably means we won't see him in this city. However, I want you to stick close during all night patrols to me or to Suneater who will join us this evening. Protecting you interns as you work with us heroes is extremely important, and I will look out for you, Crane. So be at ease."

"Yes, sir," Konan said as she frowned.

The Hero Killer was certainly dangerous. Not to mention, he's already hurt a student of U.A. High. Konan wondered how Tenya's brother was even doing. She knew their class representative himself was in rough shape.

'He doesn't think any of us have noticed his choice for internship,' Konan thought. 'I only pray that he doesn't do anything reckless by trying to get revenge.'

Konan held in a sigh as she continued to follow after Fatgum who was talking about stopping at a little shop that sells Dango and treating her to some. She merely nodded her head while trying to politely smile.

Ayumi stood next to Shoto in front of Endeavor's desk as the hero was addressing his son first. Why she was at Endeavor's agency was a simple question to answer. She's here because she knows with a hundred percent certainty that her father wouldn't reach out to Endeavor to send out Ayumi a offer. Her father wasn't fond of the flame hero, and while it might seem Ayumi chose Endeavor to just spite her father, that wasn't it. Not all of it anyway. She also chose Endeavor because she didn't expect him to give her any special treatment. Ayumi tuned back into the conversation between her classmate and Endeavour as Shoto finally spoke.

"I have no intention of following down a path you've created." Shoto said. "Only I can decide my future."

Instead of being upset by Shoto's words, Endeavor smirked with a short chuckle. The hero then turned to Ayumi.

"And I am glad you can join us, Velory." Endeavour said.

"Thank-you, sir," Ayumi said to be professional.

She did now how to act right when needed. She just didn't always do it when it was needed, but she didn't want to be rude to a classmate's parent Even if Shoto didn't seem to like his own father.

"Though I am a bit surprised Warp allowed it." Endeavor added.

Ayumi frowned at the mention of her father, but knew there was no reason to become upset.

"My father sent me to U.A. to follow my own path to becoming a hero," Ayumi said. "And you're the only hero to send me an invitation without his influence. I know this because he doesn't like you."

Endeavor's smirk widened as Shoto glanced down at the silver-haired girl to his right.

"You both should go get ready." Endeavour said. "We're going out."

Ayumi blinked curiously before exchanging a glance with Shoto. The ice and fire user then looked to his father.

"Where to?" Shoto asked.

"It's time to show you what it means to be a hero." Endeavour said.

Endeavor called out to his men to prepare to leave for Hosu as Ayumi picked up her suitcase.

"We're going to Hosu, huh?" Ayumi said as she glanced at Shoto.

"Where the Hero Killer is," Shoto added. "Are you worried?"

Ayumi hummed in thought as if thinking over her answer before giving a shrug.

"I don't think so," Ayumi said. "I know he's dangerous, but we'll be with the number two hero and we'll have each other. And we did pretty well together during the USJ incident. So, I think we'll be fine, don't you?"

She asked this with a grin on her face, and while Shoto didn't really reply, her grin widened.

"Yeah, I think so too." She said.

"Shoto! Velory!" Endeavor called out. "We need to leave."

"Oh, right," Ayumi said. "Guess we better hurry."

She then vibrated suddenly—and at such a speed her image blurred. Once she stopped, she was in her hero costume. It was a rather flashy costume with colors of silver and light blue. But that wasn't caught Shoto's attention since he has seen her costume before. What caught his attention were the newly added pink shades over her eyes and the small gauntlet like band around her forearm.

"Did you get new items from the support class?" Shoto asked.

Ayumi seemed confused by his question at first before making an "oh!" expression in understanding.

"No, this tech is from a support company my dad co-owns." Ayumi said as she tapped her glasses. "I'll show you what they can do in the field. Now, come on! Don't want to keep everyone waiting!"

She grabbed Shoto's hand without thought before dragging him along. Shoto blinked down at her hand that had grabbed his own, but otherwise didn't do anything as he let Ayumi do as she wished. He still wasn't sure how he felt about having one of his classmates intern with him at his dad's agency, but he supposed there was nothing he could do about it.

Tsuyu let out a content sigh after she finished drinking her water. Not long after coming to her internship, Selkie—the hero she was interning under—had went straight to work with afternoon drills. Nothing too hard, but it was nice to stay a break. Tsuyu then blinked when a shadow fell over her. She tilted her head up to see Hachiro standing behind her on the steps she was currently using as a seat. He had a large grin on his face as he was bent at the waist to look down at her.

"Hey, Froppy, isn't this fun?" He asked as he hopped up on the railing.

He sat crouched on it—looking like the spider he is—as Tsuyu nodded her head.

"Yeah, though I'm a bit surprised you chose to intern so close to the water, Webslinger." Tsuyu said as she tapped her chin. "I though the city would be better suited. It'd had plenty of objects for you to attach your webs and to move around."

"Yeah, I guess," Hachiro said. "But I wanted to challenge myself. As a hero, you're not always going to be fighting in ideal situations or ideal terrain, right? I need to learn to adapt to work outside areas not ideal for me. Besides, my brother Shichiro once interned here with Cap'n Selkie, and he speaks highly of him, so I thought it'd be the right place for me to get some new experiences."

Tsuyu could understand that. It was true most heroes stuck to areas best suited for them and their quirks. It was another way of selling their "brand" but sometimes heroes had to work outside those areas. Training on adapting to things like that now while they're still young was a smart idea on Hachiro's part.

"Plus, this agency works a lot in the rescue field too, so it's familiar." Hachiro said. "I grew up in a hero agency built for rescue, and I plan to continue the family business, so while I want to do new things, I also want to see if I can up my rescuing game."

"I see," Tsuyu said. "Honestly, I didn't think you would give this internship a lot of thought. You just seemed very laidback about it in class."

Hachiro chuckled as he scratched the back of his head or rather the back of his hood, which he had pulled up despite the warm temperatures.

"You have a point," Hachiro said. "And I still hold to what I told Ashido. We still have time to find the right agency for us. So, even if these don't work out, we'll have a chance to pick another. Doesn't mean I have to be totally careless about my pick though, right?"

Before Tsuyu could reply, Selkie called out to the pair. Hachiro jumped from the stair railing to the deck to land in front of Selkie. Tsuyu was right behind him as she hopped off the stairs herself.

"Yes, sir?" Hachiro asked.

"I wanted to formerly introduce you to Sirius." Selkie said as he gestured to his blue-haired sidekick. "She'll be supervising you both the most during your time here when I can't."

"Hello," Sirius said with a smile on her face.

It was a kind, friendly smile that had Tsuyu smiling as well. Hachiro nodded politely to Sirius in greeting.

"I expect you to follow her orders as if you were following mine," Selkie added.

"Yes, sir." The two interns replied in unison.

Selkie grinned at their reply while relaxing his stance as he casually crossed his arms.

"Good." He said. "Now, Froppy, you're will Sirius for the day. She'll go over all the chores that need to be done on the ship. Webslinger, you're with me. We need to gather more supplies before we set sail again. We'll need that extra strength of yours to carry the cargo."

Tsuyu said she understood before she and Sirius started to head inside the ship. Though Tsuyu did glance back at Hachiro. The boy gave her a parting grin and wave, which she returned with her own wave. Once the two were inside, Hachiro turned towards Selkie.

"So, what do you need me to lift first, Cap'n?" Hachiro asked.
