Trivia
-Hachiro's birthday (March 14th) is National Save a Spider Day
-He's the youngest out of eight and the only one not born in a set.
-His mother is still trying to have at least one daughter, so he might not remain as the youngest forever
-Despite his quirk being spider, Hachiro isn't that fond of insects. Mostly due to being teased as a child as many kids believed he ate them for breakfast.
Ayano let out a yawn as she walked towards U.A. on her first day back to classes. She had stayed the weekend with the Nighteye Agency as it wasn't as if anyone was expecting her at home. It had given her more time to hone her skills and learn a few extra things before she had to return to class.
'And he never once told me what his connection was to my parents,' Ayano thought in slight annoyance. 'But he did extend his offer of me learning under his tutelage when work studies are brought up in class.'
It meant she had to have impressed him a little bit at least, right? Well, she definitely was going to take up his offer. She liked his agency, and he wasn't so bad himself.
'I also need to remember to ask Aizawa-sensei for permission to use the gym after school hours for training with Togata-senpai.' Ayano continued to think as she went up the steps towards her class.
The two would be working together to better each other's' quirks. During their training with Nighteye, they discovered Togata couldn't go through anything Ayano made with her quirk, so it gave him a new challenge to overcome. They also discovered new ways to turn Ayano into a more offensive fighter instead of merely support. Nighteye—though technically not her mentor or anything now that internships are over—had given her homework so to speak. Things she needed to do and perfect before she was back at his agency for the next set of lessons. Togata, of course, volunteered to help her hence why they needed to set up a few training sessions throughout the school week.
"Which means I need to try and find Togata-senpai during break to figure out the best days to train." Ayano said out loud as she stepped into the classroom.
She was met by uncontrollable laughter, which brought her to a halt in the doorway. She blinked seeing Eijiro and Hanta bent over laughing.
"What's so funny?" She asked.
Both boys turned to look at her with their grins turning even bigger at the sight of her.
"Ishida, Ishida, look!" Hanta said as he put his arm around her shoulders. "Look at Bakugo!"
Ayano was only more confused but took note of Katsuki who was off to the side looking pissed. She immediately focused on his new hairstyle, and for a second only stared. Katsuki stared back at her while feeling a bit embarrassed at her stare. Her lips then started to twitch up, which had him stiffening. She let out a small laugh, which had Hanta and Eijiro laughing even more.
"Even she thinks it's funny!" They both shouted.
"All of you shut up!" Katsuki snapped. "I told you I can't get it back to normal!"
He then stiffened when Ayano reached out to gently muse his hair, which still didn't return to its spikey state even as she ran her fingers through it.
"Well, don't you look cute, Kacchan." Ayano teased.
Katsuki felt his face start to warm at her words as her lips curled up into a mischievous grin.
"Aw, I think he's blushing!" Eijiro said pointing at Katsuki's red face.
Katsuki immediately turned redder as he turned to growl at Eijiro and Hanta who were laughing even harder.
"I am not!" Katsuki yelled. "Now, shut up before I kill you both!"
"I'd like to see ya try, pretty boy!" Hanta taunted.
Katsuki gave another shout as his hair exploded back into its normal spikey state.
"What'd you call me?!" Katsuki demanded.
"It went back to normal!" The boys laughed.
Katsuki growled at them before turning back to Ayano who was still petting his head.
"How long you are you going to pet me like a dog, Aya?!" He asked.
Ayano only smiled as she finally dropped her hand from the top of the blonde's head.
"Sorry, Katsuki, I guess I just missed you a little." Ayano confessed.
Katsuki's heart thumped in his chest at her words as he frowned openly. There were those weird feelings again. He then scoffed as he looked off the side. As the two had their…heartwarming reunion, others in the class were catching up with each other.
"Awesome!" Mina was saying as she smiled at Kyoka. "You got to face actual villains. I'm super jealous!"
"Well, I didn't fight," Kyoka informed her as she twirled her earphone jack around her finger. "All I did was help people evacuate and provide logistical support."
"But that still sounds like so much fun." Mina said.
She hadn't really even patrolled on her internship. She was kept in the office on most days, so it had been pretty boring.
"Hachiro and I spent most of the time training, cleaning, and loading cargo." Tsuyu said. "Though there was this one day where we caught a bunch of smugglers. Hachiro even went toe to toe with some of them on his own."
She pointed towards Hachiro as she said this as the boy was sitting with Fumikage, Koji, and Mezo. He was laughing at something that was said as Fumikage seemed to regaling his friends with tales of his internship.
"Okay, that's cool," Mina and Kyoka said in unison.
Tsuyu then turned to Ochaco and Konan as the latter was watching Ochaco show off her knew combat skills.
"What about you two, Ochaco, Konan?" Tsuyu asked. "How did your internships go?"
"I would say it was very enlightening." Ochaco said as she threw out a few more fists at her mock opponent.
As Mina, Kyoka, and Tsuyu discussed their friend's change, Konan nodded in approval of Ochaco's new skills. It was good to see she wasn't the only female student with martial art abilities. It was true Mina was good at combat, but she had no actual training in martial arts. Perhaps Konan and Ochaco could discuss techniques later.
"And what about you, Konan?" Mina prompted. "How was Fatgum's agency?"
"I enjoyed my time there." Konan replied with a small smile. "Fatgum-san was a wonderful mentor and I gained a lot of experience under his guidance. Nearly every night we were stopping thugs and ending brawls between rival gangs. Using his methods, I learned how to more quickly subdue a villain and win a fight."
Konan looked pleased as she said this, and Eijiro, who had stopped teasing Katsuki to listen in, smiled. It was good to see Konan seemed more at ease than when they left for their internships. It even looked as if she had had fun. His smile didn't even falter when Katsuki got a hold of him.
"Seriously?" Mashirao asked as he walked over. "You were fighting every night?"
"Yes," Konan said. "Fatgum-san doesn't have an agency exactly. He's a solo hero for the most part. Except for the occasional intern, so instead of spending time in the office, he stays on the streets most of the time, patrolling. It was pretty calm during the day, but became livelier in the evening and night time hours."
They usually broke up at the least a few fights a night. There were a few attempted robberies too that she got to assist on stopping.
"It was a very hands-on experience." Konan finished then looked to Ayano. "And you, Ishida-san, how was your internship?"
Ayano, who finally left Katsuki alone, turned to look at her classmates as a few were curious.
"Sir tried to balance a lot of in office experience along with on the street training." Ayano said. "In the mornings, we'd begin in the office and about midday we'd hit the streets. We'd end the day with training to improve my offensive abilities."
"That sounds like it was kind of intense." Hanta said calmly despite the fact Katsuki, who was retaliating for the teasing, had a hold of him.
"I suppose in a way that it was, but I am thankful for Sir's guidance." Ayano said as she smiled. "I feel like I've really grown in the last week, and I must have done something right because Sir invited me to come back anytime."
Izuku smiled when hearing that for Ayano and when seeing how happy she was. Katsuki's expression was unreadable though as he looked at Ayano's happy expression. He felt a bit…unhappy hearing how much Ayano's learned over the week. Mostly because he felt like he learned nothing and gained nothing from his internship. But also, because…
'I'm done chasing after you… I'm going to surpass you. I'm going to move so far ahead that you'll have to chase after me.'
Her words from the Sports Festival rang in his head causing him to openly frown. Those words still bothered him. The thought of Ayano surpassing him and leaving him behind just made his gut churn. He didn't like it. He kept his mouth shut though as he was busy trying to teach Eijiro and Hanta a lesson about being annoying.
"Hey, that's awesome, Ishida." Denki said genuinely. "But if you wanna talk about the ones who really changed, it was those four."
Everyone turned towards Shoto, Tenya, Izuku, and Ayumi as they were all around Shoto's desk.
"Oh yeah, the Hero Killer," Hanta said as he grinned.
"Glad you guys made it back alive," Eijiro said. "Seriously."
"I worried about you too." Momo added.
"We relaxed after Ishida told us you all were okay though." Hachiro assured as some of the students gathered around the four.
There were murmurs of agreement as everyone had been happy to see that message from Ayano after everything that went down in Hosu. And while Izuku and Tenya had injuries that still needed recovering, they were doing a lot better. Shoto and Ayumi got out of the entire thing with no real trauma. Sure, Ayumi's bones had basically been pieces in her hand for a little while. But now it was completely back to normal as if nothing had happened.
"You were lucky Endeavor showed up and saved you guys." Rikido told them.
Ayumi almost snorted, but kept it in when Ayano gave her a look from the front of the class. Ayumi nodded subtly in acknowledgement to the look as she knew they needed to keep their mouths shut. As far as everyone was concerned, they never fought Stain. Not really anyway.
"So cool," Toru awed. "Just what I'd expect from the No. 2 hero!"
The No. 2 hero who hadn't been to happy to take credit for something he hadn't done. Not to mention he had been even unhappier that Ayumi disobeyed his orders and engaged the target. She was pretty sure she'd never get an invite back to his place after her little stunt. She then looked to Shoto knowing it had to be hard on him too. Letting his dad take credit for something he had been a part of and had helped do. At first the boy didn't even speak as he looked at his desk, but he soon let out a breath as he spoke.
"Yeah, that's right." Shoto said. "He saved us."
While Izuku smiled glad Shoto went along with the lie, Ayumi pat him on top the head. That couldn't have been easy to say. Shoto didn't really seem to mind the gesture as he didn't comment or try to get her to move her hand. She left her hand there as she looked to the class.
"I'm just glad it was Endeavor and not Warp who got to us." Ayumi said. "I never would have heard the end of it if my dad had to save our asses."
And that wasn't really a lie. Warp wouldn't have let her hear the end of it, so she was truly grateful that her father wasn't involved. He had kind of nagged her for putting herself at risk, but he couldn't say some other hero had to clean up after her this time as he knew the truth as to what happened.
"Did you guys hear the news about the Hero Killer?" Mashirao asked. "Everyone's been saying that he's somehow connected to the League of Villains. Can you imagine how frightening it would have been if that creep had been there when they attacked the USJ?"
"I wouldn't put much stock into what the news is saying about the Hero Killer's connection to the League." Ayano spoke up.
Many eyes turned to her as she spoke as she was forcing Katsuki to let go of Eijiro and Hanta.
"What do you mean?" Mashirao asked.
"I just don't think someone like Stain would ally himself to the League of Villains." Ayano said. "Stain's beliefs from what I heard are that the world of heroes has become corrupt and the word hero has lost all meaning. However, from what I heard after his defeat is that he claimed All Might was worthy of the title hero. So, why would someone like that ally themselves with people who are hell bent on killing All Might?"
Izuku blinked as he hadn't thought about that. Though he was still confused as to why the Nomu were in Hosu as the Hero Killer. It seemed a bit odd. And three members of the League had been spotted nearby as well based on news reports.
"Yes, the Nomu and the League's appearance might point towards an alliance, but I still don't see it." Ayano continued. "Who's to say the Nomu weren't there for Stain? If the League thought the Hero Killer could get in the way of them killing All Might, they'd want to get rid of him, right?"
"I guess I never thought about that." Mashirao said. "But still, it could still be true, right? That he was involved with them?"
Ayano shrugged guessing that was true, but she still would lean towards it not being that way.
"Either way, the League is probably going to become more of a problem." Ayano said. "That video that depicts the Hero Killer's beliefs…well, while I might not agree with it, others probably will. His beliefs and his acts might just give some something to rally behind, and if they truly believe he's connected to the League somehow…"
"They might join the League," Momo finished. "Yes, that is a scary thought."
It would mean the League wouldn't have just some random thugs on the street anymore. The people they recruit next might just be a completely different breed of villains.
"I didn't even know there was a video," Mashirao said.
"Oh, yeah, it's all over the internet." Denki said. "And, yeah, Stain is a pretty evil villain, but he's super tenacious. He's almost kind of cool, don't you guys think?"
"Not really." Ayano said bluntly as Izuku lightly shouted, "Kaminari!"
Denki seemed confused at first, but then his eyes drifted to Tenya. His eyes widened when he realized his mistake.
"Oh!" He exclaimed as he covered his mouth. "Dude…"
"No, it's okay," Tenya said as he looked down at his arm. "You're fine. It's true that he's quite a tenacious villain. I understand why some people might think he was cool. But instead of helping the world, his beliefs led him to cold blooded murder. No matter his motives…killing cannot be condoned."
His words brought a new hush over the class. This certainly wasn't how anyone expected to start their morning, but things were changing in their lives. And as aspiring heroes, they'd most likely have to deal with these sorts of things in the future.
"To keep anyone from suffering like me," Tenya began. "Well…I promise, I will strive to be the perfect hero!"
"Let's do it!" Izuku encouraged from behind him.
Though the encouragement was probably appreciated, it didn't seem as if Tenya needed it as he was back on a roll as he kept talking.
"It's time for class to begin!" Tenya reminded them. "Everyone please take your seats."
As he kept going on one of his usual lectures, some of the others started complain. Ayano, however, smiled as she was glad to see Tenya was obviously doing better. And things did seem pretty normal, but still…she couldn't help but worry about the things to come.
As the day went on, classes had came and went. Things have fallen into their usual rhythm, and soon Class 1-A was back in All Might's care for a little hero basic training.
"I am here!" All Might declared as he stood in front of one of the many outside training grounds at U.A. "Hope you're ready to return to our lessons. Today it's hero basic training. Feels like I haven't seen you in a while, welcome back!"
All Might did seem truly pleased to have his students back, and all of them in one piece. Well, mostly one piece.
"Now, listen carefully for what's in store." All Might went on. "We're going to be conducting a little race. Take everything you've learned from your internships and apply it to this rescue training."
Ayano smiled a bit. She was ready. Though she'd rather get to test her new fighting abilities, she did work on more airborne maneuvers as well while with Nighteye. While she had done pretty well in the Sports Festival with her flying, Nighteye helped her up her skills to where she's a better flyer.
"If it's rescue training then shouldn't we be at the USJ instead?" Tenya asked after his hand shot up.
"Ah, that facility specializes in disasters." All Might reminded Tenya. "As I said earlier, this is a race, so prepare!"
He dramatically gestured to the walled-in training grounds behind them that looked like one giant industrial maze.
"You're about to step into Field Gamma!" All Might continued. "Inside is an area factories that form an enteric labyrinth, so good luck finding your way around. You'll be competing in groups of four to five. Each person starts from a different location on the outskirts of the model city. I'll send a distress signal, and you do what you must to rescue me. Whoever finds me first, wins!"
All Might then paused for a second as he slowly turned to look at Katsuki whose brow quirked.
"But try to keep the property damage to a bare minimum, okay?" He requested as he not so subtly pointed at Katsuki.
The blonde's brow twitched in annoyance as he looked away from All Might and his grinning classmates.
"Why are you pointing at me?" Katsuki growled.
"Isn't it obvious?" Ayano asked.
He shot her a look at her words, but she only smiled in return, which had his brow twitching even more.
"Now, let's get to it!" All Might said. "First group will be Sero, Iida, Ashido, Ojiro, and Midoriya! So, look alive, kids!"
'I didn't really get to show off my new training in that class, but my flying has definitely improved since Sports Festival,' Ayano thought as she was in the changing room with the other girls.
She had even managed to get to All Might first in her group. Though she literally flew right into the man as she had Fumikage right on her tail, so she might have forgot about stopping as she pushed to get there first.
'My face still hurts,' She thought as she thought back to how she literally hit him face first in the chest. 'All Might-sensei has to be made out of steel or something…'
She shook her head to put that embarrassing moment behind her as she pulled her shirt over her head. Her chest practically sighed in relief from being freed from the tight confinements of her hero shirt. She still didn't understand why the designers who worked on her costume had to make it so tight, but she supposed she'd just get used to the material…eventually. Ayano then paused in undoing her belt as a familiar pervert's thoughts hit her mind hard. She sighed at the intrusion, but then stiffened when hearing what he was thinking. She turned towards the wall that separated them from the boys' room and noticed the small hole.
"Jiro-chan," Ayano said getting the girl's attention.
Kyoka looked up from where she was grabbing her uniform shirt to the ginger-haired girl.
"Yeah?" She asked.
"Can you do me a favor?" Ayano said. "It seems as if our resident pervert is up to no good, and I think you're just the person to handle him."
Her words had all the girls pausing in what they were doing to look ay Ayano curiously. Ayano pointed silently to the hole in the wall and some of the girls gasped while quickly covering up if they were a bit indecent.
"Is that little pervert watching us right now?!" Toru asked.
"He's about to." Ayano said. "I say we give him something else to look at."
She looked at Kyoka as she said this and the girl nodded. She had a good idea what Ayano had in mind. Putting one earphone jack into the wall, Kyoka was able to hear exactly where Minoru was as the boy was spazzing excitedly.
"I wanna see Yaoyorozu's curves, Ashido's slender waist, Hagakure's floating underwear, Ishida's ample chest, Ochaco's super fine body, Jinsoku's toned legs, Kurafutoshi's full hips, Asui's unexpectedly soft boobies!" Minoru was shouting as Kyoka sent her other earphone jack through the whole in the wall.
Minoru's screaming entered the air after that as Kyoka stabbed his air while sending her heartbeat through the jack.
"Thank-you, Jiro-chan," Ayano said as she smiled.
"Yeah, good job, Kyoka!" Toru added.
"Despicable," Momo said. "We'll close up this hole immediately."
Ayano and the others were all for that, but when Ayano saw Kyoka's upset, Ayano placed her hand on the girl's shoulder while hearing her thoughts.
'Why am I the only one he didn't say anything about?' She wondered forlornly.
"Oh, Jiro-chan, don't worry about what that pervert was saying," Ayano said as she Kyoka's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "In all honesty, I'm a bit jealous. I wish I had a slender body like yours."
Though Kyoka, who withdrew her earphone jacks from the wall, still seemed a bit upset, she did smile at Ayano while nodding her head in thanks.
"Wait, are you saying he dissed Kyoka?" Mina asked. "Oh, that little pervert is going to get it!"
"I wouldn't say he dissed her, but yes, he is certainly going receive punishment." Ayano said. "The question is if we want to be merciful and hand him over to the teachers…or handle him ourselves."
Mina and Ayumi both smirked at Ayano's words while liking where this was going already. However, the girls were then distracted by an explosion that happened on the other side of the wall.
"Ahh, Kacchan, what are you going?!" They heard Izuku shout.
The only reply he got was another explosion, which had Ayano hastily putting her uniform shirt around her. She buttoned up a few buttons then hurried outside to head for the boy's room. She was about to knock to ask if everything was okay when Katsuki came storming out while holding a limp Mineta in his hands. Ayano stared at the boy in shock as Katsuki turned to look at her. Instead of getting an explanation of what was going on, Katsuki tossed Mineta to the side before stepping up to her to put his jacket around her.
"You idiot, what are you doing?" He demanded—his tone calmer than she was expecting. "Don't just go running around half dressed. Get your ass back in the locker room."
He then picked up Mineta again to start walking away. Mineta was begging for mercy as Ayano stood there trying to understand what just happened. She turned to the boys since some of them were peeking outside their locker room.
"What just happened?" She asked.
"Don't know." Eijiro said shrugging. "Bakugo suddenly attacked Mineta when the guy tried to look through the peephole again. Guess he didn't learn his lesson."
Ayano looked back to where Katsuki disappeared with Mineta while pulling his jacket closer around her.
'Was he protecting us from Mineta's peeping?' She wondered.
She then smiled as she headed back towards the girl's locker room. Looks like Minoru was getting his punishment, so she supposed they could show him a bit of mercy…this time.
Coco: Okay, let me just say now that I DON'T hate Mineta. I know I might make it look that way. But really, I don't hate him. I know I'm pretty hard on him though, so to make it up to the little cretin...I mean little guy, I might have a little something special planned for him in the chapters to come. Like the ones that will take place in the first BnHa movie, which I plan to add to this story. It's still a little ways away as I have to get through the final exam episodes and the OVA that will be coming up next chapter. I'm not sure how I'll do it yet...make Ayano into a zombie...or not? Or which of my other ocs will be zombie-fied? Any thoughts on who you might want to see be a zombie? XD
