Coco: Hey, everyone, look who's back with another update? XD Yep, it's me. Kind of surprised I'm getting to update so much recently. But since I have more free time with what's going on it's giving me more time to work on my stories lol. Anyway, here's the OVA chapter I was telling you about. It's basically just a fun chapter full of laughs that I hope you enjoy.
We'll be going into the final exams soon, and I do plan to change up quite a bit for the team-ups and which teachers they fight. I didn't pair any of my OCs together, so there will definitely be four teams changed for the final exams, and with Gaea being added along with Hound Dog to make sure there will be enough teachers to go around, I might change who's going to be facing whom. I've taken in my own characters' weaknesses into account when coming up with these pairings and while nothing is too concrete yet, I have a pretty good idea on how I want to take things. Interested in hearing your guys' thoughts as well, of course. It's always fun to hear from you all, so feel free to leave a review or message on how you think things might go in the upcoming chapters. Anyway, hope you enjoy! :D
"Well, it's almost time for Summer Vacation," Aizawa said. "Don't get too excited. You just can't relax an entire month."
His words caused a slight stir among the class as some students started getting excited.
"You'll be training while you're camping in the woods," Aizawa told them.
While many of the class cheered in excitement, Ayano grimaced slightly. She didn't like the thought of being stuck out in the woods somewhere. She and nature didn't get along the best. She was allergic to some plant life to the point if it barely grazes her that she'll swell up like a balloon. Aizawa soon hushed his students as he warningly had his eyes glow red while he continued speaking.
"However," He said firmly causing everyone to shut up. "Those of you who don't pass the final exam before the semester is over, will have summer school."
Ayano tilted her head with snort. She had a hard time believing that one after all the times Aizawa's played his little tricks on them. Though it would seem her classmates took what he said to heart.
"Everyone, do your best!" Eijiro encouraged as he held up a fist.
"This is so stupid," Katsuki grumbled.
"All you girls better pass this thing," Minoru told them.
"Worry about yourself, dude," Ayumi retorted with a chuckle.
Some of the others laughed at her words, which had Minoru throwing a pout at the silver-haired girl. Aizawa silenced them once more with a growl of annoyance. He then confused his students as he turned towards the door and called for someone to come in. Ayano and the others watched curiously as four students wearing different school uniforms from their own walked into the room. Two were male and Ayano could see clearly that one of the others was female. But as for the fourth student, well, they were hiding so closely behind the white-haired girl that she couldn't make them out.
"Though you need all the time you can get to study," Aizawa began. "We'll be having your next special hero training today. I know it's sudden, but today four hero-class students from Isami High will be joining us for the training."
Many of the class exclaimed surprise and/or enthusiasm at the news. Ayano was a bit curious about the training herself, but would honestly much rather be using the day to study. Besides, she had training this afternoon with Togata after classes were all over. She sighed supposing it couldn't be helped. Ayano then watched with everyone else as Denki tried to slyly get the white-haired girl's number. But he was foiled as Kyoka used her earphone jack to attack. He cried out in pain as many others laughed.
"Stop showing off your stupidity, Kaminari," Kyoka grumbled.
Ayano smiled in slight amusement at the scene as it would appear Kyoka was a little jealous perhaps. It was kind of adorable. Though the light atmosphere was broken when Aizawa's eyes once again turned red in obvious irritation. Her entire class went still and tense as they watched their teacher warily. Though Ayano felt a little bad as that was the third time, he's had to get them to quiet down. She supposed with the end of the first semester coming to an end that they were all more wound up than usual.
"Introduce yourselves," Aizawa, who deactivated his quirk, instructed their guests who also looked a little on edge from Aizawa's death glare.
"O-of course," The white-haired girl said as she turned to address the class. "We'll be running the exercise with you today. Isami High, Hero Class. Sekigai Kashiko."
She gave a polite smile to everyone before the shortest boy, who was wiping sweat from his cheek, took his turn.
"Same class, I'm Tadan Dadan." He introduced. "Pleasure to meet you."
He gave a bow to everyone to be respectful. His classmate, however, didn't seem to care enough to be nice as he frowned openly at everyone.
"I'm Fujimi." He said curtly surprising some of them.
Katsuki frowned at this guy openly as Ayano sighed. She just knew those two were going to fight. Izuku seemed to think that as well as he looked nervously between the two.
"We're supposed to have one more…" Aizawa said looking for the fourth student.
Said student peeked from around Kashiko. This student appeared to be female as well and had snake-like appearances. She seemed a bit shy as well, but then her eyes widened in excitement and surprise. Suddenly she and Tsuyu, who jumped out of her seat, were embracing each other tightly at the front of the class.
"Tsuyu-chan!" The girl said happily.
"Habuko-chan!" Tsuyu greeted in return.
As the green-haired girl's classmates were starting to connect the dots to the girls' connection, Tsuyu continued to hug Habuko as if they haven't seen each other in ages.
"Mongoose, don't get all friendly with these U.A. guys!" Fujimi growled at his classmate.
"What did you just say, you Isami shit?!" Katsuki demanded as he jumped up out of his seat.
Izuku immediately stiffened he leaned back in his seat while Ayano shook her head in exasperation.
"Please, stop it, Kacchan." Izuku begged.
"Shut-up, ya damn nerd!" Katsuki shouted back causing Izuku to flinch.
"Why don't you shut up first?" Aizawa suggested.
Katsuki growled at the man looking as if he was going to continue, but the bell tolled above them to signal first period was over.
"It's time to go," Aizawa said. "Change into your costumes and make your way to Ground Omega. Iida, guide the Isami students."
"Yes, sir!" Tenya replied.
Everyone got up to leave though it seemed Katsuki was too busy literally butting heads with the guy from Isami to worry about getting his costume. Ayano sighed as she stepped up to the blonde to grab his hand. As he was growing used to the two of them holding hands, he barely flinched at the contact as he continued his glaring match.
"Katsuki, let's go." Ayano said as she squeezed his hand. "If you want to fight, save it for the training exercise."
Katsuki finally turned away from Fujimi with a scowl on his face, but he had dropped his glare as he looked at her. Katsuki shot one more look at Fujimi before letting out a scoff.
"Fine," Katsuki grumbled. "I'll just murder him during the training."
He grinned excitedly as he said this, which had Ayano sweat-dropping. Though she really didn't expect any less from Katsuki.
"Eh, like you can even handle us, U.A." Fujimi scoffed.
"Huh?!" Katsuki demanded as he looked back to Fujimi.
Ayano looked pleadingly to Eijiro, who wasn't far away, as it looked as if Katsuki was about to start a fight right then and there. Eijiro immediately made his way over while clapping Katsuki on the shoulder.
"Come on, man, you heard Ishida." Eijiro said. "Leave the fighting for the exercise."
Katsuki grumbled obviously not happy, but as he was being teamed up on by Ayano and Eijiro, he finally just grabbed his suitcase and Ayano's from their compartments on the wall. He handed Ayano hers before he started marching out of the classroom with Ayano's hand still in his grip. Eijiro followed after them with a grin on his face as he took note of their connected hands. Thoughts swirled in his mind about the two in front of him as Ayano was scolding Katsuki for his behavior while Katsuki brushed her off. Though their arguments have become way more tame since the beginning of the year. Something everyone has noticed, but yet the two still won't just admit the connection and take that next step.
'Maybe a little push is in order,' Eijiro thought to himself while glad Ayano was too distracted by Katsuki to pay his thoughts any attention.
After everyone changed and gathered before the gates of Ground Omega, Aizawa began the lesson.
"Alright, is everyone here?" He asked. "Today's hero exercise will be observed by me and one other person."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Ayano wasn't surprised at all when All Might came falling out of the sky towards them.
"I am—!" He began as he hit the ground causing dirt to fly up everywhere. "—like a special guest—here!"
He struck a pose after finishing his entrance. Isami awed at the man's presence while feeling a bit jealous of the U.A. students having the privilege to be taught by the Symbol of Peace.
"So, about our little exercise…We're going to have you all go through some survival training!" He said as he held up his arms excitedly.
"Survival training?" Eijiro pondered as he looked to Denki.
"Maybe it's like a Battle Royal or something?" Denki suggested.
To answer their questions, All Might brought up a holographic screen to his right.
"Let me explain," He offered as an image of four person-like images appeared on the screen. "With four students per team and seven teams overall, you will start at the predetermined positions that we have chosen! There is but one objective. To survive! To run or to fight, anything goes! Victory will go to the last surviving team!"
Sounded simple enough to Ayano. As long as she and her teammates were left standing at the end of all of it, they'd win.
"If you run into another team and manage to bind your opponents with this capture tape, you can make them combat ineffective," Aizawa said as he held up a familiar roll of tape. "This should be a familiar item to my students."
"Now let's announce the teams!" All Might said eagerly.
He was obviously ready to get things started. Aizawa then went through the list of teams for the exercise. Team A was comprised of Izuku, Mina, Ochaco, and Tsuyu. Team B: Katsuki, Momo, Mezo, and Eijiro. Team C were Koji, Toru, Shoto, and Mashirao. Team D had Tenya, Fumikage, Hanta, and Rikido. Team E were Minoru, Denki, Kyoka, and Yuga. Team F: Ayano, Hachiro, Ayumi, and Konan. And finally, the Isami students made up Team G.
"All teams, move to your start areas." Aizawa ordered. "The exercise will begin in 5 minutes without warning."
"Make sure you survive!" All Might told them.
"So, how do you guys want to play things?" Ayumi asked once the four were at their designated start spot.
The four of them were all gathered around as they sat behind some bushes to be kept concealed.
"It would be wise not to engage our opponents too openly." Konan said. "As Jiro, Tokoyami, and Shoji are on other teams, they'd easily spot us before we got too close."
Ayumi supposed that was true, but she didn't want to just sit around either. She wanted to battle her classmates and their guests too. She was itching to go.
"We could lay some traps," Hachiro suggested. "Using my webbing, we could lure people in and me trap them."
Konan nodded as she saw that was a smart strategy. The three then turned to Ayano who had been quiet this entire time.
"What do you think, Ishida?" Konan asked.
Ayano didn't reply at first as she tilted her head off to the side in a thoughtful manner. She let out a small hum.
"It's true that laying in wait would be a good strategy." She agreed. "We could just sit here until our classmates came too close then lure them into a web made by Nida-kun."
Ayumi sighed because that sounded so boring, but if her three teammates wanted to go that route, she wouldn't stop them.
"However, I don't want to sit around," Ayano continued.
Her three classmates seemed a bit surprised by her words as Ayano crossed her arms over her chest. She wanted to get moving. She hasn't gotten the chance to test her new skills yet on someone who wasn't Nighteye or Togata. She wanted to see how she'd fair against her classmates. She wanted to see how much she's improved.
"It's true trying to go undetected by Shoji-kun and Jiro-chan would be hard," Ayano agreed. "However, they're not the only ones able to pinpoint a person's location with ease."
As her words sank in, a large grin spread across Ayumi's face as her eyes shined brightly.
"That's right!" Ayumi whisper-yelled. "Using your telepathy, you can easily track everyone down!"
"I already have," Ayano informed her team as she tapped her temple. "As soon as the five minutes passed and the exercise started, I cast my mind out to sense the others. They don't know it, but I'm connected to their minds at this very moment."
Hachiro let out a low whistle, feeling impressed. Konan had to admit that was rather remarkable. At the beginning of their semester, it had taken Ayano quite some time to connect to everyone's minds and they had all been close together then. Now, they were very much spread out, but Ayano made the connection to them in mere seconds.
"Teams E and G are on the high ground." Ayano said. "Team C is to the west of us and moving slowly. Team D is doing the same but to the east. Team A is sitting tight to the north of us, and Team B…is on the move."
As soon as the words left her mouth, an explosion could be heard not too far away from them. Ayano smiled while not surprised at all that Katsuki was charging forward.
"If we sit too long, Kacchan might just take everyone out on his own," Ayano said. "That isn't very fun for us now, is it? I say we make our own stand."
"I can get behind that," Ayumi said with a grin.
Hachiro agreed with a shrug as he didn't care either way. Besides, he trusted Ayano's judgement. She hasn't led them astray before. Konan thought over it for a moment before giving a nod.
"Very well," Konan said. "We will follow your lead, co-deputy."
"Okay," Ayano said. "Katsuki just took down two teams. Isami is his next target. I say we get to them first."
She knew it'd annoy Katsuki and he'd most likely turn his sights on fighting them next. If she wanted to test her skills on anyone, it'd be him as he's near the top of the class. Shoto would be a good contender as well to test on, but they could go after his team after. However, before the group could get on a move, another explosion sounded, but this one was very different. It made the entire ground shake and the sounds the explosions made sound like flash missiles impacting the ground.
"What was that?" Ayumi asked as she covered her ears.
"Isami," Ayano said. "Looks, like they decided to go after Team B."
Ayano then stiffened when suddenly several of her classmates' minds suddenly went quiet. Her eyes widened as their minds…they were still active but quiet. Not like they were going unconscious. No, this feeling…it was just like how her brother's mind is as he rests in acoma.
"Hey, what's that pink gas?" Ayumi asked pointing to the pink gas starting to fill the area.
Ayano feeling as if the gas might have something to do with the silencing of their classmates' minds, hurriedly took action. She activated her support item to take to the air while quickly pulling her teammates up with her. They exclaimed their shock from being lifted so suddenly as Ayano took them high above the clouds.
"What's wrong, Ishida?" Hachiro asked as he Ayano set them onto psionic square of her making, so they weren't simply hanging in air.
"Not long after that explosion…most of our classmates' minds went eerily quiet." Ayano said. "I feel them…but there's nothing to read. Then we see odd pink gas? None of our classmates can do such a thing."
"So, it must be one of Isami students." Konan deduced. "And if our classmates have been silenced…we need to be careful. The gas is most likely toxic in some way."
Ayano nodded as that what she had been thinking. Up in the air like this, they were safe from the gas.
"Can you hear any of the others?" Ayumi asked.
"Teams A and C are fine," Ayano said. "And I can still hear one of the Isami students. It looks like Fujimi even silenced his classmates."
"Wow, what a nice guy," Ayumi said sarcastically.
To take out your own teammates was a terrible strategy. Whether is was purposely or not. This guy was obviously too reckless.
"Hey, I can see Midoriya's Team and Todoroki's team." Hachiro said pointing below them.
Ayano looked to where he was pointing to see that Teams A and C did meet up. They were most likely wondering about the pink gas as well.
"We should probably join them." Konan suggested. "Until we figure this all out."
"Or we could attack them from above and take them down before they even know what's happening." Ayumi suggested with a mischievous grin.
Hachiro laughed at her suggestion as he crouched down on the platform they were standing on.
"That would just leave that Fujimi guy, right?" Hachiro asked.
"Isn't that a dirty trick though?" Konan asked. "Seems like a terrible thing to do."
"All Might-sensei did say anything goes, and in survival you can't afford to pull any punches." Ayumi said.
As the three discussed what to do, Ayano tilted her head. They could indeed strike teams A and C now, and most likely take them out of commission. However, she was also worried about her classmates whose minds were in a comatose like state.
"Let's take care of Fujimi first." Ayano said. "I'm not sure what his quirk is exactly, but considering what it's done and how far its reach is, he's the bigger threat. Not to mention, I don't like how our classmates' minds feel right now. It's eerie."
Her teammates looked to her as Ayano looked around with a troubled expression on her face.
"I can't tell where they are anymore." Ayano said as she held her head. "I just want to hear their voices again…"
Hachiro exchanged a glance with Konan and Ayumi with a silent message passing between them.
"Then taking down Fujimi is our first priority." Hachiro said. "Along with warning our classmates who are still standing, yeah?"
"Yes/Uh-huh!" Konan and Ayumi agreed.
Ayano looked at them a bit in surprise, but smiled as she shouldn't have expected any less. Ayano nodded to them then took them down to where eight of their classmates were gathered. As they approached, Izuku noticed them.
"Ayano!" He called waving to the girl.
"You guys, you're okay." Ochaco said looking relieved as they touched down on the ground.
Ayano deactivated her support item as she came to stand next to Izuku and Shoto.
"We were able to get up into the air before the gas reached us." Ayano said. "Apparently, Fujimi used his quirk causing twelve of our classmates and his own teammates to go silent."
She tapped her mind as she said this and Izuku's eyes widened a bit at the news.
"Silent?" Toru asked. "What do you mean?"
"I can feel their mental presences to an extent, but everything is blurry." Ayano said. "Not to mention, they aren't having any thoughts. It's like their minds are in acoma."
This had the others looking worried as that didn't sound good at all. They didn't know what this guy's quirk was, but he managed to make it where half of their class was out of commission.
"I wonder how we can avert it," Shoto said.
"I'm sure kicking that Isami student's ass could help," Ayumi suggested.
Izuku was about to suggest they shouldn't be hasty, but he paused when he thought he saw something moving in the tree line next to their position. Izuku turned in that direction, which didn't go unnoticed by the others.
"What's wrong, Deku?" Ochaco asked.
"Someone's coming." Izuku said.
"Fujimi?" Tsuyu asked.
"No, but he is moving in closer," Ayano said as she placed her finger against her temple.
This had the others wondering just who was coming forward. They didn't have to wonder for long though as their classmates started coming out of the trees. But they were very, very different. Plaster white skin, the sluggish walking, the empty-eye sockets…
"ZOMBIES!" A few of them screamed as they took in the sight of their changed classmates.
"Aaaahhh!" Their classmates groaned in return.
Ayano took a step back in surprise as more and more of their classmates came out of the woods. Even the Isami students, who had been caught up in Fujimi's quirk, was with them. It would appear as if they were truly braindead as many of them were running into things or using their quirks at random. Katsuki was bad enough using his quirk when he's in full control. She couldn't imagine what he might do on accident. Of course, any of their classmates could be dangerous randomly using their quirks.
"They've been zombified completely!" Izuku said.
A laugh sounding to the right of them had the group turning to see Fujimi had joined them on the large rock mass they had gathered on. Ayano frowned as she berated herself for getting distracted, which allowed him to get so close.
"What do you think of my quirk?!" He asked as zombie Katsuki crept up behind him. "U.A. isn't all that—!"
He was cut off when Katsuki bit down on his shoulder, which had him crying out.
"Oh my god!" Fujimi shouted as he fell to the ground.
Izuku sweat-dropped while feeling a bit impressed that Katsuki was still fighting even as a zombie. Ayano wasn't as impressed as Katsuki just made things worse as she felt Fujimi's brain activity cease.
"Really, Katsuki?" Ayano asked in annoyance. "You just made things worse!"
The others kind of sweat-dropped at her scolding the zombified Katsuki who only groaned in response.
'They're still fighting like a couple despite the situation…' Mina and Ochaco realized in unison.
They then stiffened as Fujimi started to rise, but as a zombie this time. This wasn't looking good at all. Though they now all understood why Ayano had scolded Katsuki for biting Fujimi.
"It's just like the movies." Izuku said. "You're turned into a zombie if you're bitten."
"If the quirk user is down, there's no way to reverse this." Shoto pointed out.
"Nope, we'll have to wait it out." Hachiro agreed. "Unless Aizawa-sensei shows up and saves the day."
"Yeah, don't see that happening." Ayumi said.
There were nods of agreement from a few of the others. They were most likely on their own for this one.
"We don't know when the affects will be reversed." Konan said. "Best option is to keep our distance until then, or subdue them"
"I'll do it," Shoto said.
He sent out his ice to freeze their classmates in place. It seemed to work at first, but then their zombie friends broke out of the ice as if it was child's play.
"It really is like the movies!" Izuku said. "They're stronger now."
"Dammit!" Mashirao shouted from the back of the group.
Everyone whirled around seeing that he and Toru were caught be zombie Fumikage and zombie Eijiro and bitten. They also saw someone had gotten to Koji as he too was now a zombie.
"Hey, watch out!" Hachiro said then wrapped his webs around Mina and Tsuyu.
He threw them up in the air and out of the way before they could be grabbed by Momo. He then cried out himself when Momo managed to get a hold of him as he was saving the two girls.
"Hachiro!" Mina and Tsuyu called out.
Though it was too late. As he joined their zombie friends, Mina turned towards those who remained.
"What should we do?" Mina asked.
"We need to leave!" Izuku said. "It's our only option right now."
He then stiffened when Eijiro hurried forward. However, he was stopped by Konan as the girl used her paper body to cocoon Eijiro's body up to his shoulders. More of her paper spread as she tried to hold down as many of her classmates as possible.
"Get moving," Konan ordered them. "I'll hold them off for as long as possible. Hopefully if I remain in this form, they won't be able to infect me. Once you're clear, I'll follow."
"That's too dangerous!" Izuku argued. "We all need to leave together."
"I'll be fine," Konan retorted. "Even if I do get zombified, it won't last forever. Just go."
Izuku looked as if he wanted to argue more. In fact, none of her uninfected classmates looked as if they wanted to go along with the plan. Konan didn't look as if she was giving them an option though as she used her remaining paper to blind them and push them further to the edge of the rock. They all went falling off the edge and rolling to the bottom.
"Kurafutoshi!" Izuku shouted as he got back up to his feet.
He looked as if he was going to rush back up to the top, but they didn't get the chance as the zombie students who she was unable to hold, soon caught up to them. Tsuyu was quickly cornered by Habuko and just when everyone thought they were going to lose another classmate, Habuko, who seemed to recognize Tsuyu despite her transformation, stopped. That didn't save Tsuyu though as Yuga came up from behind and bit the girl.
"Well…this isn't going well," Ayumi commented.
She was shot quite a few looks for that comment, and she kind of shrugged in return. Mina and Ochaco then gasped.
"Ayumi, look out!" They said pointing behind the girl.
It was too late though as Ayumi was snatched by Tenya who quickly bit the girl to transform her. Shoto grit his teeth at this as Mina and Ochaco cried out the girl's name again.
"We're dropping like flies," Ayano said. "We need to keep moving."
They then heard a laugh from above, and as it was a familiar one, Ayano felt a bit of relief when hearing it. Once more All Might came from the sky as he dropped down towards students who've managed to survive this far.
"Everything's fine! Why you ask?!" He shouted as the landed into the ground causing dust to stir up.
Though as the dust cleared Ayano's hope shattered into a million pieces as All Might, who lost his muscle form, was revealed.
"Because I am here!" He said while spewing blood.
As Izuku looked utterly horrified that All Might's secret was just revealed, Ayano's brow twitched rapidly in annoyance. First Fujimi recklessly uses his quirk and starts this whole mess. Second, Katsuki zombifies Fujimi thus making it impossible to reverse his quirk. Now third, All Might arrives only to make himself a vulnerable target as he wasted too much time in his muscle form and is now useless when they need him most…
'I am so over today,' Ayano thought in aggravation as Mina and Ochaco were screaming that some stranger (All Might) turned into a zombie.
Well, at least they didn't realize it was All Might. That was a good thing, right? Ayano then ran off with the others. Though the still shocked Izuku had to be dragged away by Mina and Ochaco.
"Let's try to find a place to take cover," Shoto told the group.
Ayano sighed sitting down in the cave they had chosen for a hiding spot as Shoto covered the entrance with ice. Mina and Ochaco joined her as they let out exhausted groans.
"Midoriya, Ishida, how long do you think the zombie quirk lasts?" Shoto asked.
"The gas was clearing, so I'm sure it'll got away eventually." Izuku said. "But how long will that take?"
"When I hear everyone's thoughts again, it'll be safe." Ayano said. "But that doesn't help us figure out how much longer it'll be."
It was something though and gave a bit of comfort to the group. Ayano would be able to tell them when it's safe, but the question is if that they hang out for that long.
"I'm sure that if it gets too dangerous the teachers will save us." Ochaco said hopefully.
Mina nodded vigorously in agreement as Ayano and Izuku sighed looking off to the side. They knew help from their teachers was about a zero percent chance of happening. With All Might out of the picture, and Aizawa most likely waiting for All Might to wrap things up…well, they were basically on their own.
"Deku, how do the protagonists in zombie movies usually escape?" Ochaco asked.
"They don't," Ayano replied for the boy.
She's watched enough of those movies with Katsuki and Izuku to know that they almost never ever end well.
"Yes, those movies tend to end badly." Izuku said with a nod.
Their words did not bring any comfort to their classmates at all. They didn't have long to dwell on those words as their zombie classmates came crashing into Shoto's ice. Their punching shattered a large chunk of ice. Izuku stood in front of the girls to protect them as Shoto held the front.
"They're here," He said.
They started punching through the ice, but Shoto added more the keep them at bay. That wouldn't hold them for long though, so Ayano added a wall behind the ice to help.
"We'll be overrun if this continues!" Shoto warned. "Even with Ishida reinforcing my ice."
Izuku frowned because he knew that was true. They needed to think of a way to get through safely. His eyes then widened as an idea came to mind.
"Ayano, drop your wall," Izuku instructed. "Todoroki, get ready to use your flames! You two stay back!"
He looked to Mina and Ochaco as he said this, so the two of them moved closer to the cave's wall.
"A front breakthrough," Shoto said as he understood Izuku's plan.
"If we can't fall back then we can only go forwards!" Izuku said. "I'll make an escape route."
He backed up to the end of the small cave as Ayano dropped her psionic wall while Shoto prepared his right side.
"But how?" Ochaco asked.
"Those zombies can't be damaged." Izuku said. "If I blow them away with ice, we can escape then!"
He then activated his quirk to get ready for the frontal assault. Ayano moved back to stand with the other girls, so to get out of the way.
"Get ready, Midoriya," Shoto said as flames appeared on his arm.
He then shot them forward to melt the ice while Izuku braced his feet against the wall behind him.
"Now!" Shoto shouted as he melted the ice enough.
But just as the words left his mouth and Izuku started launching himself forward, Ayano heard all her classmates' thoughts hit her at once.
"No, wait!" She shouted just as Izuku went flying forward.
His eyes widened as he couldn't stop now, and Ayano realized the same as she paled. Izuku hit the ice sending it exploding outward where it hit their now conscious classmates. As Ayano heard them screaming outside in confusion and pain, her brow twitched. She then heard a loud explosion afterwards that shook the entire mountain. It was followed by Izuku's screams and Katsuki's shouts, which had her brow twitching even more.
"I'm so done with this," Ayano said bluntly as she looked to Shoto.
"Wow, Ishida, you look terrible," Togata said as Ayano joined him for after school training. "What happened?"
Ayano, who looked disheveled and tired as hell, just let out a sigh as she looked off the side.
"It's a long story." Ayano replied. "Let's just say zombies were involved."
Togata blinked having no idea what that meant, but seeing as Ayano obviously didn't want to talk about it, he was going to drop the subjects.
"Well, let's get to training then, huh?!" Togata suggested, upbeat as always. "I invited Nejire and Tamaki to join us, so to give you more experience. I know you haven't got to try those new skills out on anyone else, so I thought, hey, this would be the perfect chance, right?"
He said all this while gesturing to his friends. Tamaki was unsurprisingly looking anywhere but Ayano, and Nejire was quick to get up in her face.
"Hey, Ishida, what do you mean by zombies?" Nejire asked. "Did you fight some? Were there a lot? Did they try to bite you?!"
The questions kept coming as Ayano inwardly let out a groan of exasperation.
"I really wanna go home," She whined.
"…me too…" Tamaki lamented quietly.
