Coco: Hey, guys, I know it's been a while, but here I am with another chapter :D It took me a little while to work out how I wanted to do this chapter in terms on how I wanted Ayano and Shoto to take down Aizawa. But I quite like the finished product, and I hope you guys do it XD I should also be having a new chapter for the Devil Inside very soon, so be looking for that if you're interested in the story. And now, before we start the chapter, it's time for Ayumi's profile moment!

Name: Jinsoku Ayumi

Nicknames: Silver Streak (Katsuki)...and I don't think she has any others XD

Age: 15 (should be sixteen around the joint training between classes 1-A and 1-B)

D.O.B: November 1st

Gender: Female

Quirk: Quicksilver

-It's a quirk that gives Ayumi insane inhuman speed that is only outmatched by her father's quirk. It makes her quick more than just on her feet as her entire body functions at a higher velocity than the normal human. This also means she heals much faster than the average human as well, and even think at a faster rate too compared to the average person. A large down side to this quirk is that Ayumi burns off three times the calories of a regular person thus needs to eat three times more than average for someone her size. If she doesn't constantly take in calories, she could risk serious dehydration to starvation, which could lead to her passing out, becoming extremely fatigued, or to the worst extremes if she pushes too far, death.

Birthplace:

Family: Jinsoku Kōshoku (Quirk: Lightspeed/Hero name: The Lightspeed Hero: Warp)-father

Jinsoku Mari-mother (deceased)

Occupation: hero-in-training/student

Affiliation: Speedway Hero Agency (her father's agency), Tetsubun Industries (Company co-owned by her father that developed H.A.P.P.I), U.A. High

Trivia

-Ayumi is based off of two of the most iconic speedsters in comic book history. The most notable being Quicksilver from the X-Men universe. Though I'd like to say she's more like Evan Peters' Quicksilver than the one more known in the comics and earlier cartoons as far as her personality goes. I also kind of picture her rocking the same kind of vibe as him in term of how she dresses outside of school and hero work. Though her quirk's major flaw is based off of DC's Flash's weakness when it comes to using his superhuman abilities. And her love for food in general and how she shamelessly eats her fill is something I kind of picked up from watching Wally West (aka Kid Flash) in the Young Justice tv show. So, she's really a mix of different characters that I've pulled from here and there.

-Ayumi was actually almost the star of this series when I was first deciding what kind of character I wanted to be my lead for this story. Though I went with Ayano in the end, I still love Ayumi and her character very much, which is why she had to stick around for a supporting role.

-Though Ayumi loves almost all food/drink she has ever come across, strawberry milkshakes are her favorite because they remind her of fond childhood memories when her mother would take her out for a day together and end it at their favorite café where her mother would order them a strawberry milkshake to share.

"So, you know the plan, right?" Ayano asked Shoto as the two stepped onto their designated testing stage, which was set up like a residential area full of houses that all looked the same.

Shoto nodded his head as Ayano was stretching out her limbs with a look of ease on her face. He watched her for a moment as she continued to loosen up her body.

"You seem different." Shoto said getting her to pause in warming up.

She was a bit confused by his statement, which was evident by the expression on her face.

"You just seem more confident is all," Shoto explained. "The first time we teamed up like this…you had seemed pretty uncertain."

Ayano chuckled while remembering that. It had been right after Katsuki and Izuku's battle. Yeah, that had really shaken her up back then, and while she was worried for them both today as well, she didn't feel weighed down by that worry.

"I guess you're right," Ayano said. "I don't know how to explain it, really. But I feel ready for this test, and with both of us working together, I feel confident in our victory. So, let's do this, yeah?"

She asked this with a grin as she held out her fist to Shoto. Shoto's lips twitched up and he nodded as he bumped his fist against hers. A buzzer then sounded loudly above them meaning it was time to get ready.

"Team Todoroki and Ishida, practical exam: Begin!" An automated voice called thus signaling the start of their exam.

At the signal, the two teens were quick to get started. Ayano immediately reached out to search for Aizawa, but found silence. She frowned as she had been expecting as much.

"What's wrong?" Shoto asked as they moved from their start point.

"Aizawa-sensei seems to have found a way to cloak his thoughts from me." Ayano said. "It's like when Katsuki or Izuku use other thoughts to block what they're actually thinking if they're trying to keep things from me. Aizawa-sensei took it a step further and has blocked me completely."

Though Ayano wasn't sure how. Shoto nodded in understanding. It meant they couldn't locate Aizawa by using Ayano's telepathy. However, they had planned for this just in case, which is why Shoto started using his ice power to slowly and lightly coat his body in ice. The second he couldn't do that anymore, Aizawa was definitely nearby.

"He'll most likely try to take me down first." Ayano said. "And not gently either as knocking me out or a large blow to the head to disorientate me is the only way to keep me from using my quirk after he can no longer use his."

"Do you really think Aizawa would do that?" Shoto asked as they paused long enough to peek around the corner of a building.

"Whether he would or wouldn't, isn't the issue." Ayano said. "We need to be prepared for it."

Shoto gave a nod. If Aizawa went for Ayano, Shoto was to defend her to give them time for Aizawa to drop his quirk, which would allow Ayano to wrap up their teacher quickly. And that's only if their first plan of attack fails them. Ayano and Shoto had taken the time to come up with several different plans while they waited for their test to come, so if one or even more fail, they'll have something else to back it up.

"I don't see him," Shoto said. "Let's go."

"Right." Ayano said.

The two left the cover of the alleyway and were about to head for the gate once more. However, Shoto realized something very quickly. His ice had stopped forming on his skin.

"Ishida!" He called.

Ayano stiffened looking to her teammate while already knowing what was wrong.

"If you realize I'm here, you should be acting," A voice called from above them.

They both looked up in time to see Aizawa hanging above them upside down using his scarf. He didn't give them much time as he quickly flipped around while aim at Ayano who managed to get out of the way in time.

"I suggest you prioritize evasion," Aizawa said as he was crouched in front of his students. "Seeing as I erased your quirk."

Instead of looking concerned though, Ayano remained calm since Shoto was already on it. With their teacher's attention on her, Shoto was free to use his quirk. He shot a blast of fire between the two causing Aizawa to jump back. The fire also took his eyes off of Ayano who used her quirk to create those orbs of hers to shower down on their teacher. Aizawa used his scarf to wrap around a pole to pull himself out of the way from the attack. He landed on the roof behind him and quickly noticed Ayano and Shoto had fled the scene. He grinned slightly.

'That wasn't what I was expecting,' He thought.

He had been expecting Shoto to try and take the attention off of his teammate and charge forward, so Ayano could flee on her own.

'Maybe he actually learned from his previous mistake,' Aizawa pondered.

—FLASHBACK—

"You want to pair Ishida and Todoroki together?" Snipe asked. "Seems like a disadvantage for you, Eraser. Yes, the two rely a lot on their quirks, but their both smart and have worked together before, right?"

There were murmurs of agreement from the other teachers, but Aizawa was adamant about his decision.

"You have a point," Aizawa said. "But I don't think any other teacher we have is the right match for the two. Especially, Ishida. Her weakness is her own body. She's physically weaker than her classmates, and while she has learned to compensate for her weaknesses, it is unlikely she'll use her newly developed way of flying during the exam if she knows I am her opponent."

"What makes you say that?" Midnight questioned.

"If she knows I can erase her quirk at a moment's notice, I highly doubt she'll want to be up in the air." Aizawa said. "A fall could cause her the exam even if only small. She'll keep her feet on the ground, which means I just have to wear her out."

All Might hummed as that was a good strategy. However, Shoto was still an obstacle as well for Aizawa. He couldn't just focus on one student, or the other could take him down.

"Todoroki will most likely realize this as well, and try to take most of the burden onto himself." Aizawa continued. "He's done it before. In their first class together with All Might, Todoroki decided to handle things all on his own. Yes, Ishida did have to step in and Todoroki learned to respect her. However, he's shown that he still tends to take on more burden than those around him. He takes control and calls the shots as seen in the cavalry battle. He didn't ask his teammates for their opinions and while it did work out for him in the end, a flaw like that is easy to exploit whether his intentions are good or not."

Yes, Shoto is the type to try and handle everything on his own. Even if he is trying to do it for the sake of his friends and classmates, it's something that could really bite him in the butt someday.

"Moreover, I want to see how much Ishida has grown first hand." Aizawa said. "She's definitely become more adept and more confident with her skills, but when really put to the test, can she pull it off? Even with her quirk erased?"

—END OF FLASHBACK—

"Well, let's see what else they have in mind," Aizawa said then hurried to give chase to his students once more.

Ayano let out a breath as she leaned against the wall of a building, they were taking refuge behind. Aizawa has been running them ragged and she was starting to really fill it. They've practically been dancing around each other these past few minutes. Neither side getting the best of the other. It was becoming frustrating to be quite frank.

"You okay?" Shoto asked as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

Ayano nodded her head as she straightened back up and got off of the wall. They couldn't just stand around here. They had limited time and so far, they've done little to claim a passing grade.

"Aizawa-sensei is proving more difficult to subdue than I thought," Ayano said. "Of course, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. But we're not done. Now, that we've led him this far to find the right place, it's time to use that plan, okay? We've only got one shot to make this work, so let's do it right."

"Yeah," Shoto agreed. "But are you sure though? You've really worn yourself out."

Ayano let out a small laugh as she placed her hands on her hips with her confidence from earlier not wavering a bit.

"Yeah," She said. "I've really been working on my quirk since the Sports Festival. Stretching it and developing new ways to use it. With this new technique I'm sure we can pull one over on Aizawa-sensei and win."

Shoto gave a single nod while believing in his partner. They were running out of time, but if she was this certain they'd pass, he'd follow her led. As they prepared to execute their plan, Ayano let out a breath.

'Time to put Sir's training to the test,' She thought with a small grin appearing on her face. 'It's funny…but for some reason I don't want to disappoint him.'

She put those thoughts to the side though as she had to remain sure of the plan ahead. As she told Shoto, they only had one chance to make this work. They couldn't afford to mess up just because she's a bit nervous.

'I haven't seen them in a while,' Aizawa thought as he was looking around for his students. 'They couldn't possibly just be waiting for the clock to run out, could they?'

Just as he was thinking that, he saw Ayano and Shoto both come hurrying out of an alleyway. They didn't seem to notice him as they were hurrying towards the gate that wasn't far from their location.

'They need to be more aware of their surroundings,' Aizawa thought in disappointment. 'Sloppy.'

He went in to take down the two while immediately erasing the two's quirks...or so he thought. It would seem as if the two were waiting for him though as Shoto immediately whirled around to face Aizawa. He kicked out to try and get Aizawa to back off, but it hardly deterred the man. He used his scarf to try and wrap up Shoto, but when the scarf went through Shoto. Or rather he did wrap up something but not his student. What his scarf grabbed a crude construction of the basic human shape that had been hidden by…an illusion? Aizawa didn't have time to think about it for long as a torrent of ice was sent at him from behind.

He tried to jump back out of the way only to hit a psionic wall. He mentally cursed while managing to flip over the wall to get out of the way of the ice still barreling towards him. He looked around seeing multiple Ayano and Shoto appearing on the street beneath him.

'How are they pulling this off?' Aizawa wondered. 'Ishida has never been able to create human psionic constructions before.'

He then had to crouch down to avoid the flames sent his way. He looked around wondering, which Shoto down on the ground sent the attack. He almost chuckled. He didn't know, which of the fakes were his actual students. That meant they've nearly left his quirk useless unless he can figure out who to use his quirk on to stop these constructions.

In the shadow of a building just out of the man's sight, Ayano was sat tucked away in a corner with her eyes closed in total concentration as her hands were placed on her temples. Though while she was out of sight, Shoto was actually down on the ground with the fakes. They couldn't risk Aizawa finding her out and using his quirk on her. That and it took a lot of her quirk to make these constructed fakes of her and Shoto. It took all three of her abilities as one to pull this off and it was a huge strain on her. She wasn't sure how much longer she'd be able to hold it up.

"A smart strategy." Aizawa complimented from his spot-on top of one of the buildings. "But I'm these fakes can't use your quirks, so the second one of you move to try and fight me, I'll take you down."

Shoto, who stood off at the edge of copies, held off a frown as they knew this could be a long shot, but it was the best plan they had.

"So, what are you going to do?" Aizawa asked with a smirk. "Looks like we're at a bit of a stalemate."

'That's where you're wrong, Aizawa-sensei,' Ayano's voice rang through his head, which had him stiffening slightly since he had thought he blocked her from his head.

Just as her words came through his head all the Ayano copies disappeared meaning the girl hadn't been amongst them after all, and the Shoto copies took a familiar stance in unison. Aizawa watched with wide eyes as ice collected on their bodies before the large waves at him. He nimbly missed the ice, but one came off from the side where he wouldn't have time to dodge. He braced himself for impact, and the ice hit him head on while freezing his body. He looked to the side to see the real Shoto as the others started to disperse.

"Looks as if we've managed to capture you, sensei." Shoto said. "Just like you said we would, teammate."

He turned his head as she said this as Ayano, who finally moved from her hiding spot, came around the corner.

"Yeah," She said smiling despite the fact that she looked extremely tired. "And now for the finishing touch."

She held up the hand cuffs that were given to them at the start of the exam as she and Shoto looked up at their teacher. Once their teacher was cuffed, they were given a pass that was announced through the stage by the automated voice.

"It went exactly according to your plan," Shoto said. "It was almost a little too smooth."

He then started to melt the ice around their teacher as there was no point in keeping him frozen anymore. The plan had been to lure Aizawa close to the gate when time was running short. Then make themselves known to the man by seemingly running in a panic towards the gate. This would draw him in and then when he goes to wrap one of them up and realizes they're fakes, he'll surely back off to regroup. This is when they'll use fake copies of themselves to make him caution himself even more. And that's when they'd go in for an attack. When he wasn't sure how to handle the shocking new development. But it had been a risk as their teacher was the cool headed time and could work himself through a problem with ease. But in the end it had worked out.

"Yeah, I was thinking the same." Ayano said as she sat down on the ground. "But I'm not going to complain. If it had went on any longer, I probably wouldn't have been able to keep going."

Using all three of her quirk's abilities at once like that was a real strain on her mind. Almost more straining than physical labor was on her body.

"How did you manage to do it, Ishida?" Aizawa asked once he was freed and crouched in front of his student.

Ayano, who looked as if she could pass out at any second as her head bobbing up and down a bit, hummed as she blinked.

"Um, it's kind of hard to explain," Ayano said. "But I used all three of my quirk abilities to create those copies. My psionic construction to form the outline of a human form with simple cylinders and circles, and my telekinesis to move them. Now, to actually make you think you were seeing us, I had to use my telepathy. Pulling out your memories of us, I just played it on loop in your head. Like, that big ice move that Todoroki-kun did in the festival. I just cut out everything thus leaving only images of us. So, really you were just seeing multiple images of us pulled from your own memory. It was just one of the many things Sir Nighteye covered in training."

It was something Nighteye had made Ayano work a lot on. He made her break out of her comfort zone of diving into someone's mind and using her telepathy farther than she has before. It had been rocky at first and there were plenty of times, Ayano just wanted to stop, but Nighteye had been persistent. And while it still needed a lot of work, it helped them pass today.

"But it takes a lot of energy, so it isn't something I can use in an actual fight…anytime…soon…" Ayano said between a few yawns.

Aizawa didn't comment as he looked to his students as Shoto was asking Ayano if she'd need assistance leaving the stage. She wasn't shy about asking for a piggyback ride back to where those who weren't testing were, and Shoto nodded in agreement without any fuss.

'The two have really grown,' Aizawa thought. 'Ishida especially. I bet you'd be proud, huh, Ko?'

Izuku grinned looking at the screen as Shoto was carrying Ayano off the stage with Aizawa following behind the two. He knew they'd pass. He had faith in the both of them, but to see just how much the two have changed since the beginning of the year made him eager for his own battle to come.

"Should have known the two of them would win," Ayumi said as she walked into the room.

The others gathered in the room—Tsuyu and Ochaco, who would be doing her exam next—looked to the speedster as she came to stand beside them.

"Hey, Ayumi, are you not going to strategize with Momo?" Tsuyu asked.

Ayumi sighed at the mention of her teammate as she crossed her arms over the front of her chest.

"Yeah, well, I tried that," Ayumi said. "But Yaomomo is acting kind of weird and isn't exactly holding any conversation I'm trying to start with her."

This had her present classmates looking concerned when hearing one of their top students was acting out of character. It was so unlike Momo not to try and strategize. Though while her classmates were confused by this, Ayumi wasn't all that surprised. She's noticed that Momo hasn't exactly been herself since the Sports Festival. It made her wonder how their exam was going to go.

"Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about," Ayumi said. "She's probably just nervous about the exam. Yours is now, isn't it, Ochaco?"

At the reminder, Ochaco jumped a bit as she realized Ayumi was right. The girl gave a quick farewell before going to meet up with Yuga, so they could head off to their designated testing stage.

"You two are up against Hound Dog-sensei, right?" Izuku asked Ayumi once Ochaco was gone. "We've realized these tests seem to pit students against teachers they'll have trouble with or ones that could exploit their weaknesses…but I don't see how Hound Dog-sensei is a bad matchup for the two of you."

He had been thinking of it for a little while now. After they realized how these tests were supposed to be, he had thought of all the matchups between the students and the teachers. Some of them were rather apparent while others a bit harder to decipher. The hardest being Momo and Ayumi having to try and beat Hound Dog. If they wanted to hinder Ayumi in a way Thirteen seemed like the better option as even Ayumi's speed would unlikely save her from the power of Thirteen's blackhole. Then with Momo, Aizawa would have most likely been the better option as the teacher to assess her.

Though Hound Dog is a pro-hero and a strong opponent, he really didn't have anything to counteract against the girls' quirks. It seemed as if he was the one at a disadvantage instead of his classmates. However, Aizawa did say the pairings and matchups were based on a multiple of reasons. So, if it wasn't because of their works, he wondered if it was because of relationship? Or something else? He wasn't sure, but he was interested to see on how things turned out.

"I'm sure Aizawa-sensei has his reasons." Ayumi said with a shrug. "We'll find out soon enough, right?"

Coco: And this is where I am leaving things. I know, the chapter wasn't as long as many of my others. I apologize for that, but the next one should be back to normal length. But I do hope you enjoyed it. And just a quick FYI, between after I post this chapter to before I post the next one, I will be going back and deleting those few a/n posts I had, so to clean up the story a bit. There's no reason for them anymore, so the next chapter will be like forty-five or forty-six or something instead of 48, which is what this chapter is going to be posted as since the a/n have jacked up the numbering XD

Anyway, until next time, guys. Remember to stay safe and healthy during these crazy times (that are equally driving me crazy) and I hope to see you guys again soon.
