Coco: Hey, guys, I'm back and this time with the Boku no Hero Academia Movie: Two Heroes! I've been working on it since I posted the last chapter and would write a few hours a night after work and before bed XD So, it's taken me like a week exactly, but in this chapter is the entirety of the first BnHA movie. It's 20,000+ words long and the entire document was 55 pages long. Now, I use 14 sized font because I'm blind as a bat, but still XD It's like five of my usual length chapters in one, and I hope you enjoy it. I had a lot of fun writing it.
Now, the next chapter will still "technically" be like based in the movie. At it'll like wrap everything that happened in this chapter now and help transition over into season three more neatly. At least that's my goal, so at the end if you think it kind of cuts off at a weird place, don't worry it'll be continued next chapter.
But now that that's out of the way, let's get started!
Giichi let out a yawn as he sat crouched on top of the building across from Ayano's apartment complex. He's been watching the girl more closely lately since her time at Nighteye's as the younger male had told Giichi of Ayano's improvement. Apparently, the girl was progressing just as Nighteye had foreseen, which was a small cause for worry. Giichi had to keep the youngest of his daughters safe and needed to make sure the other two didn't get too close to her. Otherwise, it might resurface.
"Aya!" A loud voice snapped Giichi from his thoughts and had his eyes shooting back over to Ayano's apartment.
Outside the door was none other than Bakugo Katsuki. The loud youth was banging loudly on the girl's door with his friend Kirishima Eijiro trying to get him to calm down. Giichi knew all of Ayano's classmates by now as he had done a lot of research on them after Ayano joined U.A. The redhead was a good kid from what Giichi understood, which explained why he put up with such a brat like Katsuki.
"What?!" Ayano, who came to answer her door, snapped at Katsuki in return after her door was slung open with a bang.
Eijiro quickly apologized to girl for the rude awakening as it was still pretty early. In fact, many people should still be sleeping around this time.
"Hurry your ass up!" Katsuki told her. "We'll miss the damn plane if you don't get moving! You're the one who wants to go to the damn expo so badly, remember?"
He growled this at her and despite his tone, Ayano's eyes lit up at the mention of the expo that was to happen on I-Island. As she hurried to get her things, Giichi looked up at the sky that was starting to turn a pale grayish-blue.
'I-Island,' Giichi thought. 'I haven't been there in some time. I wonder how Dave is doing…'
—FLASHBACK—
"I'm serious, Toshi, if we keep this up, we're going to be late to the lecture." Dave said as he was trying as quickly as possible to get them to class.
Yagi Toshinori, who will later be known better as All Might, laughed as he scratched the back of his head.
"Sorry, Dave, but those citizens needed help." Toshinori said.
Dave sighed though knew it was true. Besides, if Toshinori didn't stop to help people in need he really wouldn't be living up to the goals he set upon himself. However, while Dave might have understood this, one of his back passengers didn't. In fact, they were so annoyed, they reached out to kick Toshinori over the head with the heel of their foot. Toshinori grunted as Dave sweat-dropped.
"I was wondering how long it'd take before this happened," He said under his breath.
Toshinori pouted then turned to look back at the assailant who happened to be Sebone Giichi—a U.A High third-year and the man who will later be known as the Skeletal Hero: Gaunt.
"America has its own heroes to deal with villains and other crime." Giichi pointed out. "In fact, heroes had been on the scene every time you've butted in today, Toshinori. We're representing U.A. If we keep missing classes, we'll give the impression that all U.A. students are good for nothing slackers."
"You stepped in once today too, Giichi," Toshinori whined.
He then winced when Giichi, who stood up in his seat, dug his heel into the back of Toshinori's head.
"Yeah, to save your dumb ass from that villain who was coming up from behind you, so you're welcome." Giichi said while ignoring Dave who asked him to sit back down and put on his seatbelt—the vehicle was moving after all.
Before Toshinori could try to retort, Giichi was jerked back down into his seat by their female companion—Kichigai Etsudo.
"Giichi-kun, stop picking on Toshichan." Etsudo chastised. "We are heroes-in-training, which means we need to help those in need. I'm sure the Principal will totally understand if we miss a few courses to help."
Giichi gave Etsudo a deadpanned expression as she smiled at him in return.
"Yeah, I'm sure the Principal will totally understand if we fail those courses too." Giichi said with sarcasm dripping with every word.
Etsudo pouted at him as the white-haired man leaned back in his seat with his arms crossed over his chest. Dave just sighed as he wondered how he let himself get tied together with these three. Oh yeah, they helped save his life along with the lives of others when an experiment went wrong at school. The group of four then looked up at the sound of an explosion, which was followed by another explosion and screaming. As Etsudo and Toshinori sat up in concern at what could be happening, Giichi sighed.
"Gees, and I thought Japan had a high crime rate." He said nonchalantly.
No one commented to his tone or statement as Dave had to stop behind a grouping of cars. And just as Giichi knew he would, Toshinori jumped from their vehicle to go right into action.
"And there he goes again," Giichi said as he stood up as well. "Might as well back up the idiot."
As he jumped out, Etsudo smiled since she knew Giichi couldn't ignore people in need either. Even if he tried to act like it was a hassle, he wanted to protect people just like Toshinori.
"Stop looking at me like that," Giichi said as he looked at her over his shoulder. "It's time to get to work, Phoenix."
"Right, Gaunt!" Etsudo said with a cheeky salute.
She then hopped out of the vehicle as Giichi was already weaving through the cars or jumping over them to get to where Toshinori ran off too. Dave watched them go with a smile on his face.
'Those guys…' He thought.
As Giichi and Etsudo made it to the front of the commotion, they saw Toshinori had already stopped two villains in their tracks. They weren't captured, but they were obviously shaken up.
"Looks like we might have left the car for nothing," Giichi said as he placed his hands on his waist.
"Sorry to waste your time, my friend," Toshinori joked.
Giichi just shot him a bored look before glancing back at the citizens that Toshinori saved. They looked a bit frightened, but Etsudo was already checking on them and soothing them with her quirk.
"Hey, blondie!" The smaller villain called out. "Just who the hell do you think you are?!"
Toshinori looked at the villains with his smile widening as he too placed his hands on his waist as Giichi had done earlier.
"A hero from Japan." Toshinori informed them. "Who just so happened to be passing by."
"Ha!" The villain mocked. "I'll send you back home in a coffin if they can find your remains."
He then fired missiles at them with his quirk, and as Toshinori went to intercept, Giichi stepped forward. Giichi, grew long pointed bones out of his arm then threw them forward like daggers. They hit the missiles dead on, which caused them to explode prematurely and harmfully away from them. As some stared in awe, Giichi tilted his head in an unimpressed manner at the villains.
"You seem to miss the fact that this idiot isn't on his own." Giichi said as Etsudo stepped up beside her two classmates. "Why don't you give up now, huh? I'm not exactly good at holding back against punks like you."
Toshinori frowned a bit at how cool Giichi was acting as Etsudo just sighed. Sometimes she worries about Giichi's knack for violence.
"And just who the hell are you two?!" The smaller villain demanded.
"Why bother telling some second-rate villains like you?" Giichi asked as his bones slipped out through the tips of his fingers—looking like long white claws. "Now don't make me ask again. Hand yourselves over, now."
Giichi was honestly getting tired of these two villains, and he knew they couldn't get to class until they were taken care of.
"Like, hell we'd do that!" The villain snapped. "Be prepared to die, pretty boy!"
The villain shot more missiles, and Giichi sighed. He stepped in front of Etsudo and went to take care of them as he had done the ones before. However, Toshinori took them out this time with a powerful gush that came from the swing of his arm. They blew up a safe distance away, and after the smoke cleared, the villains were seen to be fleeing.
"They're fleeing already?" Toshinori asked disbelievingly.
"Great," Giichi deadpanned. "Just what we needed."
Dave then came to pick them up and they were off to follow the villains as quickly as possible.
"You always get ahead of yourself, Toshi," Dave chastised.
"Tell me about it,' Giichi gripped.
"You're not much better." Dave said looking through his mirror back at Giichi.
All he received in reply was the bird, which had him snorting at the white-haired male.
—END OF FLASHBACK—
'Come to think of it, Dave has a daughter in between Rina and Ayano's ages,' Giichi recalled. 'Melissa, I think her name is.'
Giichi only met the child a few times before Ayano was born and everything changed for their family. The kid was bright like her dad and looked a lot like her late mother.
'Maybe it's time I pay a visit,' Giichi thought as his daughter was rushing out her door to join her friends.
Katsuki grumbled as he walked between Ayano and Eijiro as they took in the sights of I-Island. They had landed not that long ago and as requested of them, all three were in their hero costumes. Though he opted out of wearing his mask. So, far he was bored out of his mind. All they've done so far is walk around with his two companions pulling him around when things caught their attention.
"This place is pretty cool," Eijiro said as they stopped to get a quick bite to eat.
Katsuki grunted in reply as he leaned back in his seat with his arms crossed across his chest. Ayano was off placing their orders to the vendor not too far from them, so the two boys had chosen a table to wait for her at.
"So, you chose Ishida as your second guest, huh," Eijiro said conversationally.
"Yeah, what of it?" Katsuki asked narrowing his eyes.
Eijiro just grinned silently, which had Katsuki's brow twitching in aggravation. Though before he could snap at redhead, Ayano came back to their table. She placed the boy's sandwich orders in front of them with a big smile on her face.
"Kacchan, I think I found something you might like," Ayano said getting his attention. "Something to turn that frown upside down."
She poked his cheek as she said this, which had him catching her wrist in retaliation.
"What the hell are you talking about, Aya?" Katsuki asked.
"Apparently, they have an arena nearby where people run a course and take on faux villains." Ayano said. "There's no limitation on how you use your quirk and its timed, which is how they place contestants."
Katsuki felt himself grin when hearing that. Finally, something he could do that wasn't so damn boring.
"Hey, that sounds like fun," Eijiro said. "The three of us should enter."
Ayano was about to decline his offer. She'd much rather watch the two of them have fun on the course. Anything to stop Katsuki from grumbling the entire time they're here. Though before she could get the words out someone familiar caught her eye.
"Eh, Kurafutoshi-chan?" She called out when seeing the platinum blonde.
Eijiro's head whipped around at Ayano's call to see Konan really was there. She didn't appear to hear Ayano as she was kind of far away and she seemed to be in the middle of a conversation with two other people. One was a woman who looked very much like their classmate and the other a stern looking man. There were similarities between her and the man as well, which led the three teens to believe those were Konan's parents.
"It is Kurafutoshi." Eijiro said while grinning broadly. "Hey, Ko-Toshi!"
At the sound of her newly given nickname, Konan's head whipped around to spot her three classmates. Her eyes widened at the sight of them before a small smile pulled across her face. Though it soon fell as she looked back to her parents. She seemed to say something to them and while her father frowned, he did nod his head. Konan bowed her head to him before hurrying over to where her classmates were.
"Ishida, Kirishima, Bakugo, I wasn't expecting to see the three of you," Konan said. "What an unexpected pleasant surprise."
While Eijiro and Ayano both smiled at Konan in greeting Katsuki just ate his sandwich while grunting as a reply.
"We're here because Bakugo let us tag along as his guests." Eijiro explained. "He won tickets to the expo, so we get to go to the preview and everything!"
"Then perhaps we can go together," Konan said. "My parents and I had received an invitation as well, but they will have to return to Japan shortly for business, so I will be standing in for them. I would rather not have to arrive to the preview alone if possible."
Eijiro nodded thinking that sounded like fun then asked Konan if she wanted to hang out with them. The girl agreed with a nod then waved to her parents as a silent signal that she was staying with her classmates. Her father didn't seem pleased, but he merely walked away with his wife on his arm.
"Um, are you sure it's okay, Ko-Toshi?" Eijiro asked. "Your dad didn't look too happy."
"It's fine," Konan said with a small shrug. "He's just…protective. It was hard enough for my mother to convince him to let Mashirao to be my friend. He's just picky about who I hang out with. Especially boys."
She said this all casually, but Ayano had a feeling there was more too it. However, she didn't press it.
"Would you like me to grab you a bite to eat as well, Kurafutoshi-chan?" Ayano asked.
"No, thank you," Konan said. "I already ate with my parents. Do you have any plans for after though?"
"Yeah, Ishida told us about this obstacle course they have on the island." Eijiro said. "Thought we'd check that out."
"Sounds like fun," Konan said. "Maybe I'll participate with you."
Ayano was a bit surprised Konan wanted to join in on the obstacle course as she didn't seem like the competitive type.
"Will you be participating as well?" Konan asked Ayano.
"Um, I wasn't really thinking about it," Ayano said. "I just thought it'd be something for the boys to have fun with. Katsuki was really moping earlier, so I was just trying to get him to quit grumbling."
"Eh?!" Katsuki snapped turning towards her.
Ayano just smiled at him in return as his eye twitched in aggravation at her teasing.
"You're just scared I'll wipe the floor with ya, Aya!" Katsuki growled at her.
"Oh, you think so?" Ayano asked him. "Come to think of it we haven't had a chance to compete since our internships. I'm stronger than I was at the Sports Festival. Maybe I should test things out, huh? I think I can beat you this time."
She said this with her smile growing as she looked down at her hand. She had better control over her quirk and has even stretched its abilities. Katsuki scoffed at her words as he tossed his trash away.
"Oh yeah, well bring it on, Aya." Katsuki said. "I'll bury you."
He then looked to Eijiro and Konan while holding up his fist as his eyes set in a glare.
"Same goes you for two, Kirishima, Origami." Katsuki said.
'Origami?' Konan thought. '...well, at least it's better than him calling me paper wad again...'
"I guess we'll just have to go and find out then, won't be?" Eijiro asked smiling.
Ayano watched on the edge of the course as Eijiro finished his run in an impressive time. She'd say he's gotten faster, and considering his quirk isn't a power or speed type, he did remarkably well. She was definitely impressed.
"A clearance time of 33 seconds!" The announcer called. "He's in eighth place!"
As some cheered for Eijiro, Konan stepped up for her run. Eijiro passed her as she went and gave her a thumbs up in luck. Konan nodded before taking her place at the starting spot.
"I wonder how she plans to take them down," Ayano said. "During our entrance exams, she had just covered the robots to throw them off when I was trying to save that one examinee. I never had the chance to see her actually destroy one."
"Yeah, same," Eijiro said.
Katsuki, who was standing next to them, just rolled his eyes. He was sure it'd take the paper girl a while to take care of the robots. It wasn't like her quirk was all that powerful.
"Okay, the attack course has been reset!" The announcer said. "Get ready…go!"
Konan immediately dispersed her body into paper to send it over the course quick as possible to find the mock villains. Once her targets were spotted, she brought in parts of her body to form pointed paper arrows about the size of a small dog. Those arrows then shot forward towards their targets and while some of the smaller ones she managed to pierce through by hardening her paper, the others were barely phased. She had to regroup, but after using her paper to wrap them up and slam them against the side of the fake mountain course, all villains were destroyed.
"She finished in 34 seconds, which allows her to claim ninth place!" The woman announcer declared.
Konan, who reformed her body down at the start point, sighed not looking too impressed. Though she did bow to the clapping and cheering spectators.
"Now, it's my turn," Katsuki said with a smirk. "Watch how a real hero gets things done."
He marched forward after Konan got out of the way as the announcer called him forward. He got ready to move as he put his arms out behind him with sparks already starting to build up. She gave him the okay to go, and he shot forward without hesitation using his explosions. As expected Katsuki was making quick work of the mock villains.
"Look at that time!" The announcer gasped as Katsuki finished. "Only fifteen seconds! First place!"
Katsuki landed back where he started with a cocky grin on his face as he looked to Ayano. Though he was a bit stumped when seeing her own smirk. It was like she was confident she could beat his score. He frowned at her about to make a snappy retort over her smirk when Eijiro spoke up.
"Hey, isn't that Midoriya in the stands?" Eijiro asked.
Their group of four turned seeing Izuku was indeed up in the stands and he wasn't alone. Ayano saw Ochaco, Momo, Kyoka, and Tenya all with him. Along with a blonde girl she didn't recognize.
"Izuku!" Ayano called waving at her friend.
Izuku smiled waving down at Ayano as well, but he soon gasped as Katsuki, who used his explosions to get him airborne, was suddenly in his face.
"Dammit, what are you during here, Deku?!" Katsuki demanded to know.
As the poor greenette backed away in fear, Ayano sighed shaking her head. Of course, the first thing Katsuki does is try to pick a fight as soon as he sees Izuku.
"Hey there, Kacchan," Izuku greeted. "Maybe calm down—!"
"Don't you dare tell me what to do!" Katsuki snarled.
Izuku only cried out in response as he moved even farther away from Katsuki. As Tenya interfered to try and stop Katsuki, Momo leaned over the railing to look down at Ayano, Konan, and Eijiro.
"So, Kirishima, you four got asked to I-Island as well?" Momo asked.
"Well, Ko-Toshi was asked to come here, but not us." Eijiro replied. "Bakugo got an invite because he won the U.A. Sports Festival. We just kind of tagged along."
He then jerked his thumb over his shoulder to gesture to the course behind them.
"You guys going to do this villain course or what?" He asked.
It'd be fun if more of their friends could participate.
"Don't even try it!" Katsuki snapped. "There's no way you'll get a better score than I did."
"Yeah, you're probably right, yep," Izuku agreed nervously.
He didn't want to fight Katsuki if possible, so he'd rather not do the course at all.
"Huh, I'm not so sure," Ochaco said. "Only one way to find out, I guess."
"Yeah, you're probably right," Izuku said before gasping as he realized his mistake.
Katsuki snarled at Izuku's words before fully pulling himself over the railing he had been hanging on.
"Just hurry and get your attempt over with, ya damn nerd!" Katsuki said as he shoved Tenya out of the way. "Then you get out of here!"
"Right, I'll do that!" Izuku said.
Izuku then jumped down into the ring as Ayano turned to the announcer who had been curiously watching the scene.
"If it's alright, he can have my slot." Ayano said. "I can wait to go after."
Izuku looked at Ayano wondering if she was sure about that, but she just smiled as Eijiro and Konan left the ring to join the others.
"Sure, if that's what you want," She said before addressing the crowd as Izuku got ready. "We have a new challenger coming in at the last minute! Will he end up on top?! Or fail in front of the entire expo?!"
Izuku remained calm despite her words as he activated One for All: Full Cowling. He felt the power surge throughout his entire body. He threw his arms out creating a small disturbance in the air around them as Ayano stood back and watched with a smile.
"The attack course is set!" She said. "Ready? Go!"
Izuku rushed forward quickly using One for All to burst his speed to inhuman proportions. He even used it to scale the mountain quickly so to get to his targets. He started taking them down one after another and Ayano could already tell it was going to be a close call on who took first place after this.
"An incredible run!" The announcer shouted once the last villain was defeated. "He's at second place at sixteen seconds!"
"Good job, Izuku." Ayano congratulated as the boy walked towards her. "You've really upped your speed."
Izuku thanked her bashfully as he scratched the back of his head. The announcer then told Ayano it was her turn, so the psionic girl stepped forward. Katsuki, who was already stewing over Izuku's score, shimmered down as he watched Ayano closely. She once again looked completely calm as she stepped into the starting circle.
"Wonder how she'll do," Eijiro said as Izuku joined them.
"I'd say she's about to take first place from our resident hothead." Kyoka said glancing at Katsuki.
Said blonde scoffed with his face turning up in his usual snarling expression. He didn't comment though as he kept his eyes on Ayano.
"Are you ready?!" The announcer asked the girl who nodded. "Go!"
Ayano quickly activated her hoverboard to lift herself up into the air. At this height she could see all the mock villains on the course. She raised her hand and everyone watched with wide eyes. Then with snap of her fingers all the robots twisted around themselves and exploded in the matter of seconds. The crowd was stunned silent for a second before they erupted into cheers.
"Wow, amazing!" The announcer said. "This girl has just taken first place with a time of just four seconds!"
Katsuki stared at Ayano, who touched back down on the ground, with wide eyes. He couldn't believe it. Logically, he knew Ayano's quirk made it simple for her to bypass actually having to scale the course and saved her time in having to go after each villain one at a time. But he didn't expect her to go that quickly. It used to be she couldn't lift too many heavy things at once.
He knew during her entrance exam that she had to rely mostly on throwing one robot into others to rack up her numbers. Then at the Sports Festival she had managed to hold back that giant zero pointer though it had obviously been hard on her. Now she looked as if it took little effort at all for her to lift and destroy many heavy, durable objects at once.
'Just what kind of training did she go through during her internship?' He wondered as he grit his teeth tightly.
He glared at Ayano as she rejoined them with their classmates circling the girl.
"That was astounding, Ishida!" Tenya praised.
"Yeah, your quirk has really gotten stronger," Momo added as she smiled at the shorter girl. "It's impressive."
"You were really cool." The blonde Ayano was unfamiliar with said as she stepped up. "I've never seen a quirk like yours in action before. So, you're telekinetic?"
Ayano just blinked at the girl because she had no idea who the heck she was. Though she seemed acquainted with her classmates.
"Actually, Melissa, that's just part of Ayano's quirk." Izuku said with a large grin on his face. "Ayano's quirk Psionic can be broken down into three separate psychic abilities. Telekinesis, telepathy, and psionic construction!"
He said this with a boastful tone as he bragged about his friend's quirk. He then gasped as he realized something.
"Oh, Ayano, this is Melissa!" Izuku said gesturing to the tall, blonde girl. 'She's the daughter of an old friend of All Might's from when he was in America.'
He added this last bit mentally with Ayano nodding as she heard him loud and clear. Izuku then looked to Melissa.
"Melissa, this is one of my oldest friends," Izuku said. "Ishida Ayano."
"Nice to meet you," Melissa said with a friendly smile. "You really are talented, Ayano. You finished that course like a pro."
"Yeah, you blew Bakugo's quirk out of the water!" Eijiro added.
Katsuki, who had been stewing silently, roared in anger, which had everyone jumping.
"Argh, I'm going again!" He declared. "I'll blast your stupid score to ash, Aya!"
He then stiffened when Ayano reached out to poke his cheek with a mischievous smile on her face.
"Oh yeah?" She asked. "How do you plan to do that? Just admit defeat, Kacchan~ I won this time."
Despite how he felt his face warm at her touch and teasing tone, he felt his ire rise.
"Like hell I'll do that!" He retorted as he snatched her hand up into his hold.
Ayano just continued to pester him, which had Katsuki yelling at her even more. As the two interacted, Melissa looked to the others.
"Are they…dating?" She asked gesturing to the…arguing couple.
"Well, no," Eijiro said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "But we're working on it."
Melissa blinked at that last statement as Kyoka and Ochaco nodded in agreement to Eijiro's claim. Momo and Tenya sighed wishing their classmates would leave the two alone. In their opinion, if they were meant to be, Katsuki and Ayano would come together on their own terms. Konan just lightly chuckled at the entire thing before everyone's attention shot back to the villain course when the announcer gave a squeal.
"Wahh, this is insane!" She said. "Fourteen seconds! This gentleman jumped to second place!"
Said gentleman was none other than Todoroki Shoto, which had the U.A. students gasping in surprise. They just kept running into familiar faces, didn't they?
"Todoroki's here too." Izuku said.
"Another one from U.A.?" Melissa asked.
"Yep," Momo replied.
"Your class is amazing," Melissa said earnestly. "You're going to be such great heroes."
As Momo, Ochaco, and Kyoka blushed at Melissa's words, Katsuki growled. He then used his explosions to send him flying towards Shoto, which left Ayano standing there poking at air instead of his cheek.
"Out of the way, Icy-Hot-Bastard!" Katsuki snapped gaining Shoto's attention.
"Bakugo," Shoto said as the blonde male landed in front of him.
"You can't just appear out of nowhere and show me up!" Katsuki yelled.
Shoto, who was unfazed by Katsuki's shouting, looked up seeing more of his classmates in the stands. A few even waved at him.
"I see the others are here as well," Shoto said calmly.
"Don't ignore me!" Katsuki demanded. "What are you even doing on the island anyway?"
"My father was invited, so I'm representing him." Shoto explained.
At this time the announcer tried to calmly tell the boys about the next contestant to get them to move, but Katsuki just snapped that he'd be going again. The poor woman squealed in fright, which had Tenya jumping in. He tried to get Katsuki to stop, but of course, the blonde didn't listen. Izuku and Eijiro went to help as well, which added to the chaos. Melissa laughed at the scene though felt bad right after when seeing the girls had their heads bowed and frowns on their faces.
"Oh, sorry to laugh." Melissa said. "I was just thinking it looks like you have a whole lot of fun at your school."
"Well, it's never boring," Momo said. "I'll say that much at least."
"True," Kyoka, Ochaco, and Konan said in unison.
Ayano just sighed shaking her head when she felt a whip of air brush beside her.
"Aw man, I was going to go next," A familiar voice said next to her. "But the entire course is in ice and the boys are hogging the space."
Ayano and the other girls whipped their heads around to see Ayumi there with a pout on her face.
"Ayumi!" Ochaco gasped.
The silverette turned towards her classmates while giving them a grin as she held up a peace sign.
"Yo," She greeted. "Didn't expect to see all of you here."
"We could say the same," Momo said.
"Well, my dad is the co-owner of Tetsubun Industries." Ayumi reminded them. "And Uncle Genki is one of the top leading inventors of hero support items worldwide. He invited us to join him for the expo, but my dad couldn't make it, so it's just me."
Tetsubun Genki is Japan's top engineer and inventor. Not only does he make top of the line hero gear, but he also makes new and amazing technology to help the everyday civilian as well. Using his designs and tech, Japan has taken a large leap in technology that many other countries have yet to achieve. Though despite his intelligence and outstanding achievements, the man's personality didn't really fit his important position as he was known for being a reckless teenager in a middle-aged man's body.
"By the way, don't you think we should stop him?" Ayumi asked gesturing to the still shouting Katsuki.
The girls turned their eyes back onto said blonde seeing Izuku and Eijiro both were struggling at holding Katsuki back.
"I'm on it," Ayano said with an exasperated sigh.
She jumped over the railing before hurrying over to the boys to try and calm the situation. As she tried to calm Katsuki, Izuku groaned wishing All Might was here to help. He'd be able to hold Katsuki back.
Dave frowned looking at the screens before him as they were popping up data on All Might's condition. Said man, who was in his weaker form, was laying in a pod of sorts and hooked up to a breathing machine as the pod scanned his body and vitals. As more and more information was pulled from All Might, Dave's expression turned even more grim.
"Doesn't look good, does it?" A voice asked behind Dave.
The scientist whirled around at the voice seeing someone he hasn't seen in quite some time.
"Giichi," He said.
Giichi, who was leaning against the door into Dave's lab, waved lazily in greeting before pushing himself off the door. He walked farther into the lab while shoving his hands into his pockets. As Dave looked over his friend, he noted Giichi looked thinner than what he had once been as well. Though not as drastically as All Might. Though what was really different was the look in the man's dark eyes. It seemed as if both of his friends have really lost a lot due to their lives as heroes. Of course, he knew what Giichi lost very well as Dave had lost the same—the loves of their lives.
"What are you doing here?" Dave asked.
"Would you believe me if I said I felt like visiting an old friend?" Giichi asked.
Dave gave him a look, which told Giichi that he didn't believe him at all. But before he could press it, his computer beeping caught his attention. His eyes turned before widening as they took in the information. He looked down in disbelief as the pod holding All Might opened up allowing the Symbol of Peace to sit up and remove the breathing mask.
"Giichi, I wasn't expecting to see you here," All Might said when spotting the man. "Is everything alright? With the girls?"
Giichi didn't reply as his eyes flickered over to Dave who turned around in his chair.
"I don't get it, Toshi," The brunette said then pointed at the chart on the screen. "Why are your quirk levels going down so drastically? I know you were seriously injured by All for One, but to suddenly get these numbers are absurd. What in the world happened to you?"
"The idiot pushes himself too hard and isn't as young as he used to be," Giichi answered before All Might could think of a lie to tell. "He should have retired after that battle with All for One, but he continued to push himself. Now…he's nearing his limit."
It was a believable statement that Dave didn't question, and All Might was certainly grateful to Giichi for coming up with it. Though it wasn't a total lie. All Might has pushed himself close to his limit, and now that he has passed on One for All, that limit was getting even closer.
"Now, you mind putting some clothes on?" Giichi asked All Might. "I really didn't want to know if you were a boxer or briefs guy, Toshinori."
All Might gave Giichi a look since now wasn't the time to worry about his lack of clothes. Their friend was obviously upset.
"At this rate the Symbol of Peace will disappear." Dave said. "The only reason why Japan is able to keep its crime rate at 6% is because of your presence. Other countries have around 20%, and some are even worse than that. Honestly, part of me wished you never left. America could use you."
Giichi resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He never understood Dave's blind admiration in All Might, or how he thought All Might was the only hero who could save the world. It's true thanks to All Might that crime plummeted in Japan. The once fear filled streets were now at peace and almost everyone felt safe and happy. But All Might's era couldn't last forever. It was something they all knew, but that didn't mean everything was over.
With each generation more powerful quirk users are born. A new symbol would come and until then other heroes would be there to try and hold up the society All Might has brought. It might be shaky there for a while, but it didn't mean all would be over once All Might hangs up his mantel and returns to being just Yagi Toshinori again.
"There's no need for you to be so pessimistic, Dave," All Might tried to cheer up the scientist. "The world is full of plenty capable pro-heroes. Not to mention the good people like you who support them. Besides, I can still be All Might for a few hours each day. I'm not dead yet."
"Come on," Dave scoffed. "What if a monstrous villain appears and you're not capable of saving us again?"
"Toshinori isn't the only hero around as he's already pointed out." Giichi said. "He can't keep being the Symbol of Peace forever. He's not immortal, but when he's no longer All Might, there is another generation to take his place. As each generation passes, quirks become more powerful. I've seen it firsthand. The generations to come can and will be able to carry Toshinori's legacy. Besides, even if what you say does come to pass, this moron isn't about to back down."
He pointed at the still half-naked All Might who grinned at Giichi's words. He might have put aside his title of hero, but Giichi still thought with the mind and heart of a true pro. He had faith in the future generation of heroes as should they all.
"Anyway, Toshinori, get dressed and meet me outside," Giichi said. "I have things I need to discuss with you before you go to the expo preview."
All Might didn't like the sound of that as he turned to watch Giichi start to leave.
"What's wrong?" All Might asked. "Has…something happened?"
Dave frowned in confusion as he looked between his two friends. Giichi, who kept his back to the two, sighed as he scratched the back of his head.
"The youngest one is on the island and since I can't go to the preview without invitation, I need you to keep an eye on her." Giichi said. "But I'll talk to you about it in more detail outside."
All Might nodded, so Giichi left All Might alone with Dave who had a look of concern on his face.
"Toshi, what's going on?" Dave asked.
All Might glanced down at Dave just wondering how much would be safe to tell the man. Like the truth behind One for All, the situation with Ayano and her sisters was something else best not to tell him about. But he supposed it wouldn't hurt to tell Dave some things.
"Ayano is on the island," All Might said. "Giichi and Et—Etsudo's youngest daughter. She's in one of the classes I teach at U.A, and she and her classmates have gone through a lot since the start of the school year. Villain attacks and such, so he's been keeping a closer look on her lately."
Dave's eyes widened at the news. He only laid eyes on the youngest daughter of Giichi and Etsudo once and that had been through a video chat. She had been such a cute baby. Chubby cheeks. Curly ginger hair and wide, round eyes.
"Really?" Dave asked. "She's on the island? And does she know…about Giichi?"
"No," All Might said. "As you know, not long after her birth, she and her sisters were separated and sent away to live with others. The two older ones went to their grandparents. Rina went to Etsudo's parents thought not until Estudo's death while Kazane was sent to Giichi's parents. And little Ayano was put up for adoption on Etsudo's wishes."
Dave remembers when they had told him about it. He had been completely shocked and had questioned them about it, but they never told him why. They only said it was for the best. Not long after that…Etsudo fell at the hands of a villain.
"Giichi is trying to keep track of all the girls now," All Might said. "But the only one who knows about it is Kazane and she doesn't want anything to do with him. Ayano knows nothing of him…and Rina is missing."
Dave's eyes widened even more at that news bomb. Rina had been a playmate of Melissa's when the girls were younger though the prior was a bit older than his daughter. She was always such a bubbly, friendly girl. Knowing she was missing really bothered him.
"Giichi probably doesn't want me telling you all this," All Might said. "But…do you think you could use some of your connections to help us possibly find her? With each passing day I feel like Giichi is ready to give up and accept the worst of possibilities."
He knew his friend had two possible theories about where his daughter is. Or rather what happened to her, and neither theory was something All Might wanted to entertain.
"Of course," Dave said. "I'll see what I can do."
All Might nodded his thanks before a thought came to mind. He walked over to his clothes and belongings, which he had off to the side to grab his phone.
"She's really grown up, you know. Ayano, I mean," He said as he unlocked his phone to open his gallery of photos. "I can't believe I didn't recognize her when I laid eyes on her. She looks just like her mom."
All Might handed his phone to Dave who looked at the photo pulled up on the screen. It showed a girl standing on a podium with All Might standing behind her. He had his usual grin on his face and his hand on her shoulder as she was holding up a medal with reluctant smile on her face. The girl was the spitting image of Etsudo. Though her hair much shorter and her expression mirrored more of her father, Dave could see without fail the resemblance between mother and daughter.
"You're right…she looks just like her mom," Dave said with a chuckle. "She's turned into quite the beautiful young woman. Maybe I'll get to actually meet her in person one day."
All Might nodded before a string of coughs broke through causing him to turn away. As he tried to compose himself, Dave looked at him in worry. Things weren't looking good for his old friends. All Might was getting weak and Giichi's family was shattered. Dave felt so powerless not knowing what to do. Even with what he has in the works, it didn't stop him feeling so helpless.
Ayano frowned looking at herself in the mirror in the bathroom to the hotel room she was sharing with the boys. Despite telling Katsuki he could bring a couple of guests, he was only given one room, so they all had to share. It wasn't that big of a deal she supposed. She's been having sleepovers with Katsuki and Izuku for years and has shared a bed with each of them, so it had easily been decided she and Katsuki would share a bed.
Though this time she had been a bit more…hesitant. With her new and still growing feelings towards her childhood friend, she had actually been a bit uncomfortable of the idea of laying next to him at first. But she had put those thoughts to the side as they were only here for the weekend and two nights in the same bed as Katsuki wasn't going to kill her. She's done it plenty of times in the past. At least that's what she keeps telling herself. Ayano shook her head. She'd worry about the sleeping arrangement later. She still had to get ready for the preview.
Hence why she's currently frowning at her form in the mirror. She's never had to get ready for anything this fancy before. And while she did like to dress up from time to time, it never went beyond maybe a cute but still simple dress and maybe heels. She wasn't the type to really do anything with her hair, which is why she kept it so short and makeup was never her thing either. Yeah, she knew how to apply it and everything, but she never really used it.
"Who knew getting ready for a party would ever be so hard?" She asked her reflection, which she wasn't too happy about.
She felt ridiculous to be honest. The dress was cute that was for sure. She just felt like a little kid trying to play dress up is all. She really shouldn't have let Eijiro talk her into buying it when he had joined up with her and Katsuki at the mall the other day. After Katsuki had asked her to join him and Eijiro for the expo, she bought a few things to bring along as well as what was needed for the training camp that would happen a few days after their return. Eijiro had mentioned how the preview was like a formal thing and it had Ayano thinking she really didn't have any formal wear.
That led to her peeking in a few dress shops' windows as they shopped. The dress she was wearing now had caught her eye then. It was a halter chiffon dress with a gradient ombre design that went from black at the top to dark purplish-blue towards the end. It had outlined roses decorating it as well on the top half of the dress with silver embroidery, but the flowers stopped at the embroidered silver sash that went around her torso. She was almost worried the dress was too busy. Especially for such a formal event, but Eijiro convinced her to give it a chance since it had caught her eye.
She wore simple black heels with the outfit and a silver bracelet and earrings to match the silver on her dress. She hadn't really done anything too fancy with her hair as it was too short to really do anything with. She then had tried to apply light makeup to her face. Nothing too much. Just some foundation, mascara, eyeliner, and a light gloss on her lips. And now that she was done getting ready, she wasn't happy with her appearances whatsoever. She almost felt like a clown.
She groaned knowing she didn't have time to start over as Tenya, who had texted her earlier, wanted everyone to meet together at 6:30 to go as a group to the expo. And Katsuki and Eijiro still needed time to get ready. So, she guessed she just had to suck it up. With that in mind, she left the bathroom to let one of the boys go next.
"Okay, I guess I'm done. Who wants to go next?" She asked only to be met with silence.
She blinked looking up to see Katsuki and Eijiro both staring a her with wide eyes. It had her stiffening as she wondered why they were staring.
'Do I really look that bad?' She wondered in a panic.
She started feeling self-conscious as her eyes darted downwards to stare at the floor.
"I know," She said trying to laugh things off. "I look silly. I really should have just opted out of going to the preview. Formal wear and I just don't mix."
"No, no, you look great!" Eijiro assured her. "Doesn't she, Bakugo?"
He turned to his friend as he asked this, and Ayano looked towards Katsuki as well. He didn't say anything at first as he continued to stare at Ayano. She felt her face start to heat under his intense stare and she soon had to avert her eyes again.
'Does he think I look okay?' She thought then mentally chuckled. 'I can't believe it. I never thought the day would come when I was worried about how Katsuki saw me…'
It was something that had never once crossed her mind as she never cared before. Katsuki has seen her in her baggiest and comfiest of clothes with her hair disheveled and her sick as a dog. He's literally seen her at her worst, and now she's worried if he approves of what she's wearing now? Seemed silly of her.
"You look fine," He finally spoke.
Ayano looked up with her eyes widening slightly at his…half compliment? It was more than she ever thought she'd get from him. She felt herself smile.
"Thanks," She said.
Then before they could fall into an awkward silence there was a knock on their door. Eijiro opened it with a grin pulling across his face.
"Jinsoku, Kurafutoshi, hey." He greeted as he stepped back to reveal their two female classmates.
Both girls were dressed up as well and looked ready for the preview. They definitely pulled off the formal look better than Ayano felt like she did. Both girls had opted for shorter dresses as well. Though Konan's dress had long sleeves. Or rather the bottom layer of the dress was a strapless off-white outfit, but over it was a matching off white lace top that stopped mid-torso. The lace top's sleeves were long and went down to her wrists with the pattern in the lace resembling flowers. She had white heels to go along with the dress and she kept the rest simple as she wore no jewelry or make up. Though her hair was skillfully woven from front to back to form a loose bun.
Ayumi wore a silver a-line dress with a scoop neckline. The dress was more like a two-piece as the top of the outfit was beaded silver crop top that stopped rather high up on her torso. It showed off a bit of her tone midriff, but the skirt of her outfit was high enough up that too much wasn't exposed. The skirt, which was uneven at the bottom was layered with different layers of sheer material in white and silver hues. The skirt sparkled like her top though wasn't as flashy. Surprisingly her shoes weren't silver though they were more casual as they were simple flats. She kept her hairstyle simple as well as she had the long locks pulled back into a high ponytail.
"Hey, we just came to see if you guys wanted to walk with us to meet up with the others." Ayumi said. "Though I see two of you aren't ready yet. If you don't hurry, the Class Rep isn't going to be happy."
She said this teasingly and Katsuki just scoffed rolling his eyes. Like he cared if he pissed Tenya off. He didn't want to go to this stupid preview anyway.
"We'll be ready soon." Eijiro assured the girls. "Once I convince Bakugo to get ready. You three can head on down if you want."
"Are you sure?" Konan asked.
"Yeah," He said nodding. "No reason for all of us to be late."
And with that Ayano left the room with the girls to go join their classmates, but as she was shutting the door, she heard Katsuki shout at Eijiro.
"Why the hell do we match, moron?!" He was yelling as the door clicked behind her.
She decided to brush off the shouting as she walked in between Ayumi and Konan.
"Am I the only one who feels ludicrous in these clothes?" Ayano asked the other two girls.
"Nope, I feel the freaking same," Ayumi said. "Doesn't matter how many times I've dressed up for the formal occasions the old man likes to pull me along to, I always feel stupid dressing up."
"Well, I think you both look lovely," Konan complimented. "Though I understand where you are coming from. I am quite used to having to dress up as I've been attending such events since I was very young, but I remember always feeling out of place in the beginning."
Ayano felt better knowing she wasn't alone in her feelings. It made her feel a bit better.
"I wonder how the boys are all going to clean up." Ayumi said. "I'm curious."
"I guess we'll find out," Ayano said with a chuckle.
Giichi frowned walking down the streets of the expo with his hands stuffed into his pockets. He really didn't know what he planned to do for the night but being cooped up all night in his hotel room sounded boring. As he was passing by a storage zone, he noticed something out of the ordinary. He saw some men carrying guns and wearing masks. He narrowed his eyes as he watched them sneak around the back of the building.
"Well, I might have just found something to preoccupy myself with for the night," He said.
As the three girls arrived at the designated meeting place, Ayano blinked not only seeing Tenya and Shoto but surprisingly Denki and Minoru as well.
"Kaminari-kun, Mineta-kun, I didn't know you both were on the island as well." Ayano said.
Denki smiled at the psychic in greeting as Minoru just drooled at the sight of his three female classmates.
"A café on the island was looking for some extra workers for the expo and we signed up," Denki explained. "It was a free trip to the island, and we can see the expo when we're on break. Melissa was even nice enough to give us some spare tickets of hers to get us into the preview. We totally scored."
He said this with a wink and Ayano smiled. It was nice having more of her classmates joining in on the fun. She was a bit bummed the others couldn't join. She heard from Momo that the rest of the girls were on the island as well, but she only had the two spare tickets and after a bit of gambling, Kyoka and Ochaco won the chance to go to the preview.
"Speaking of scoring, we totally hit the jackpot, Kaminari!" Minoru whispered to the blonde as he gestured to their dressed up female classmates.
Denki hushed him because his shorter friend really should have learned by now not to say such things around Ayano. Ayano rolled her eyes but decided to let the comment slide.
"I suppose I will take the compliment as I feel ridiculous in this getup." Ayano said. "But don't push your luck."
"But why do you feel like that?" Denki asked. "You look great."
"Konan has already told her that, but she won't listen." Ayumi said with a snort.
She then slid over to Shoto to grab him by the arm, which had the two-tone-haired boy look down at her.
"Well, don't you clean up nice," She teased as she smiled up at him.
"Thanks," Shoto said. "You look nice as well."
He said this coolly as always, and Ayumi giggled as she waved her hand at him.
"Stop it," She said. "You're going to make me blush."
She looked away as she said this and Ayano, who was watching the exchange, saw Shoto's mouth turn upwards slightly as he looked at Ayumi. She tilted her head.
'They make it look so easy,' Ayano thought. 'Jinsoku flirts like it's nothing and Todoroki doesn't seem bothered at all by it. But I get flustered just by a look…'
She mentally sighed before giving a shake of her head. No reason to dwell on such thoughts as they would do her no good.
"So, are none of the others here yet?" Ayano asked as she turned to Tenya.
The tall teen sighed shaking his head as he looked down at the time on his phone.
"Really," He grumbled. "How hard is it to arrive on time?"
Ayano sweat-dropped while certain the youngest Iida son was slightly pouting.
"I'm sure they'll be here soon." Ayano tried to calm him.
Though she was very wrong as about twenty minutes later, the others still weren't there, which led to Tenya calling them all to hurry them up. Well, he called Izuku and tried to call Katsuki and Eijiro, but neither of them answered. He didn't want to come off as rude to the girls by rushing them, so he left them be. Not long they were joined by Izuku who came hurrying out of the elevator.
"Sorry about that…you guys…" He trailed off when seeing he wasn't the only one missing. "Uh, where is everybody?"
"They're not here yet," Tenya said. "Does a proper meeting time mean nothing to you people?!"
As Ayano tried to calm him down once more, the elevator opened again to reveal Ochaco had arrived. At the sight of her, Ayano noticed how Izuku blushed, which had her smiling in amusement.
"Sorry I'm late," Ochaco said. "It took me a while to get ready."
"Best night ever!" Denki and Minoru cheered in unison causing Ayano to roll her eyes.
They were getting way too overexcited over the fact the girls were wearing dresses. The elevators opened once more after Ochaco stepped out into the lobby and this time it brought down Momo and Kyoka to join them. The latter was slightly hiding behind the prior with a small blush on her face as Momo was smiling.
"Apologies for the tardiness," Momo said. "Jiro's feeling shy."
"Jackpot!" Denki and Minoru shouted in joy. "Yes!"
"Calm down, will you?" Konan requested.
She honestly didn't understand their enthusiasm. It wasn't like the girls were parading around in skimpy attire or anything. But she supposed the way they were dressed is a rare sight that they may never see again.
"This is fancier than anything I've ever worn before." Kyoka said. "Honestly, it feels like a costume."
"Well, I'm just glad you're not wearing a t-shirt." Denki said while giving her a thumbs up.
"Even the jacket can't ruin it," Minoru added.
Of course, their comments were rewarded with Kyoka using her earphone jack on them to send her heartbeat blasting through their heads. They whined about her treatment of them, but Kyoka didn't seem the least bit apologetic.
"This is my first time in formal wear," Ochaco said as she wandered over towards Izuku, who had gravitated over towards the latter, and Ayano. "I just borrowed something form Yaoyorozu."
"It looks really good," Izuku complimented. "Like perfect."
Ochaco squealed at the compliment while turning away from Izuku to hide her blushing face as she waved her arm around.
"Oh, Deku, stop!" She said. "You don't have to flatter me so much!"
"Contain yourself!" Tenya said while looking perplexed by Ochaco behavior.
Ayano just laughed at the sight behind her hand as her green-haired friend blinked in confusion. The elevator doors dinged behind them then and Ayano, who was thinking it was Katsuki and Eijiro, turned around only to be slightly disappointed when seeing Melissa instead. Ayano frowned wondering where Katsuki and Eijiro were.
'Are they…blowing off the party?' She wondered with her heart sinking a bit.
Giichi looked around as he followed in line with the group of people he had spotted earlier. After sneaking up on the group and knocking out the straggler in the back, Giichi had suited up after borrowing the man's uniform. Now, he was following the group around with none the wiser.
'I don't remember things being this easy,' Giichi thought almost annoyed as he went into another room with his group.
He's seen quite a few interesting things after he managed to infiltrate this group of thugs. Contraband weaponry, high tech hacking gear, etc. There were at least enough people to hold down an entire building if they decided to raid a place. However, even with their gear, he still didn't understand how they were bypassing security so easily. It was too easy.
'Inside help…' He wondered.
He was also curious about where these goons planned to attack though he had a pretty good idea. The most important event on the island—I-Expo's preview party where most of the pro-heroes on the island were gathered. If he was them, he'd certainly focus on subduing all the heroes first before doing anything else.
"Alright, get ready to move out," A man wearing an iron-like mask on his face said. "We'll hit those heroes as soon as the island's security is under our control."
"Sir!" Many of the men called back in reply as they readied their weapons.
Giichi kept his borrowed firearm thrown over his shoulder as the strap of it went across his chest. He wasn't a big fan of firearms as they seemed like a waste of time to him, so until someone noticed he wasn't using it, he was going to leave it be.
'Really…these guys are so unobservant… are they that stupid? Or that confident that no one would be able to slip by them?' He pondered. 'I'm thinking they're just stupid…'
"Alright, let's go," The man in charge ordered once he had received word over the comms that it was safe to moveout.
"It's no good," Tenya said as he put down his phone. "Neither one of them are picking up their phones. Knowing those two they're just blowing off the party."
Ayano frowned while starting to think the same. She knew they were getting ready when she left them behind, but perhaps Katsuki refused to go in the end and Eijiro just decided to stay behind with him. She sighed. She then looked to Momo as the taller girl placed her hand on Ayano's shoulder. She had a knowing look in her eyes and her expression was kind. She probably knew Ayano was a bit disappointed Katsuki wouldn't be joining them. Ayano was, but she wasn't about to say that out loud.
"Maybe they left their phones behind," Izuku suggested. "I can go get them."
Though he never had the chance to do just that as suddenly the alarms started blaring loudly. Everyone stiffened looking around in confusion.
"This is an announcement from the I-Island Security System." An automated voice called out over the speakers. "We have received a report an explosive device was discovered somewhere on the I-Expo Grounds. I-Island will now be in high alert mode. Your safety is our top priority. Residents and tourists should return to their lodgings at this time. Anyone remaining on the streets after ten minutes will be in violation of the law. This includes public areas. As a precautionary measure, most of the main island buildings will now be sealed off. I repeat, we have received a report."
The voice continued, but Ayano tuned it out as she frowned. Something didn't feel right about this, and based on Melissa's expression, something was off.
"I'm not getting any signal," Shoto said as he was checking his phone. "Looks like my service is completely blocked."
"Same here," Ayumi said as she tapped her phone. "Not even H.A.P.P.I is responding."
That worried the speedster. H.A.P.P.I usually had no trouble getting service no matter where Ayumi was. H.A.P.P.I ran on a state-of-the-art system much more advanced than usual devices, but right now the system was completely down.
"Are you serious?" Minoru asked nervously.
"The elevator's not working either." Kyoka reported.
"What the heck is going on here?" Minoru whimpered.
He didn't like this at all, and he wasn't the only one. Ayano's frown deepened before she placed a finger to her temple to concentrate her quirk. She sent her mind out in search of anyone who knew what was going on. If she could tap into their thoughts maybe it would give them a clue.
"It's strange that the system would go on high alert," Melissa said as she cupped her chin. "That's never the protocol whenever explosives are discovered."
That had Izuku worried as he turned to their class rep as Tenya was frowning thoughtfully.
"Iida, let's go to that party." Izuku said.
"For what reason?" Tenya asked.
"Because that's the place where we can find All Might right now," Izuku replied.
At the sound of the name of their fundamental hero instructor some of the teens relaxed.
"Wait, All Might's in there?" Ochaco asked surprised.
"Oh, thank goodness." Minoru said. "We don't have anything to worry about then."
Some of the others nodded in agreement while already feeling so much better.
"So, Melissa, do you know of anyway we can get down there without the elevator?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah, sure," Melissa confirmed. "We can use the emergency stairs. We can at least get close."
"We'll follow your lead then." Izuku said.
Melissa was about to lead the way, but when Ayano held out her arm in front of the others, they stopped. They looked to their psionic classmate as she dropped her hand from her temple.
"I'd hold up for a second if I were you," Ayano said. "We have hostiles on the island."
Her words had her classmates stiffening and Melissa's eyes widening in shock. Ayano turned to face her friends.
"I can't tell how many." Ayano said. "My quirk isn't strong enough to canvas the entire building at once to search for the minds of everyone inside of it. However, I can tell you that below us—at the party—there are over twenty armored men and they have hostages. Those hostages include the attending pro-heroes…meaning All Might as well."
"You've got to be kidding me?!" Minoru cried in freight. "They have All Might?!"
Ayano nodded her head gravely. She couldn't believe this was happening. Though it was just their luck. It didn't seem as if the students of Class 1-A could go anywhere without danger in the mix.
"What do you want to do?" She asked her classmates.
'Well, this just keeps getting more and more exciting,' Giichi thought to himself as he stood near the stage of the room that the preview party had been going on full swing.
Of course, now that the villains have made themselves known and taken over the place, there was no partying going on. Giichi glanced over his shoulder at All Might as the Symbol of Peace was on the ground and restrained. He looked exhausted as well meaning he was pushing his limit too far. And then Dave was taken mere moments ago, which meant if anything happened to him, Giichi nor All Might would probably be able to get to him in time.
'Now, how do I go on about this?' Giichi wondered. 'There's only one of me and I don't know how many of them. They have control over the entire island's system and if I make my move too prematurely many could be killed. I have to work things out delicately.'
Giichi then blinked when he noticed a small flash from the corner of his eye. He glanced up to the glass dome above the party room to see none other than Izuku and Ayano leaning over the railing. It appeared as if they were trying to get All Might's attention. Crazy kids. If he noticed them, it meant these villains could as well.
"Hey you!" One of the thugs called out to Giichi.
Giichi turned his head towards the guy while keeping his relaxed stance, which seemed to irritate the man talking to him.
"Don't just be slouching around!" The guy told him. "If the boss sees you, he'll get mad. And where's your weapon?"
"I don't like guns, man," Giichi replied with a shrug. "Besides, don't need one."
At the sound of his voice, All Might, who had finished communicating with the kids via Ayano's telepathy, whipped his head around. He stared at the back of the villain while knowing that voice.
'Giichi…' He realized. 'But how…?'
"Just stop slacking!" The villain told Giichi. "The Symbol of Peace is behind you, ya know."
"Yeah, whatever you say," Giichi brushed him off.
He the glanced back up seeing the children weren't above anymore. He mentally sighed. Those stupid kids.
"We've received All Might's orders loud and clear." Tenya said as he and the others regrouped on the emergency stairs. "He's our teacher. I suggest we follow his instructions and escape this place. Otherwise we'd be going against his will."
"I'm afraid I have to agree with what Iida is saying." Momo said. "We're still only students. We can't fight these villains if we don't have our heroes' licenses."
Ayano frowned because while she understood what they were saying…it felt wrong to do nothing. Would a hero really sit by while others were in danger?
"Things are different on the island," Ayumi cut in. "Quirks can be used freely here. It's even in the brochure."
"Yeah, but not for something like this," Konan pointed out. "If we act now, we'll be acting as vigilantes thus breaking the law."
Ayumi, who crossed her arms over her chest, scoffed as she looked off to the side in annoyance.
"Oh, why don't we get out of here and tell the heroes outside?" Kaminari suggested.
"It's not going to be very easy to escape." Melissa said. "The security system here is on the same level of that of the Tartarus Prison where they keep the most dangerous criminals in the world."
"Which makes things all the stranger, don't you think?" Ayano asked.
Her friends looked at her in confusion as she was staring forward with a pensive expression.
"What do you mean?" Ochaco asked.
"The security system is supposed to be unbeatable, but yet these villains hacked into it and put the entire island on lockdown." Ayano said. "To do something like this…they'd probably have to have access to the system's mainframe, right?"
"Yeah," Melissa said as she started to understand what Ayano was saying.
"And if the system is as good as it is said to be, how did they even get that close to its mainframe without being stopped or the very least spotted?" Ayano continued. "An alarm or something should have sounded."
Melissa looked down at the ground not liking this at all. What Ayano was saying was logical. The villains should never had made it anywhere near the mainframe.
"So, what are you suggesting?" Shoto asked. "That they had inside help?"
"It is a high possibility," Ayano said. "Meaning if we somehow manage to get outside, how do we know who we can and who we can't trust when we go looking for help?"
Her question had everyone going to a new level of silent as her words turned inside their heads.
"Then, I guess all we can do is sit and wait until All Might or another hero handles things," Denki said.
That didn't sound like much of a plan, but the only other option was something many of them were strongly against. Which was handling the situation themselves.
"Are you really okay with that, Kaminari?" Kyoka asked as she stood.
"What choice do we have?" Denki asked in return.
"Don't you think we should at least try and stop them?" Kyoka asked. "And if what Ishida said is true and we can't trust anyone…who's to say anyone will come and save us?"
Denki grimaced because he hadn't really thought about that. This just made things look even grimmer.
"Come on, those villains have even got All Might trapped." Minoru said. "There's no way we can actually stop them ourselves if the actual pros are stuck."
"Aren't we trying to be pros ourselves?" Shoto questioned as he looked down at his hand.
Ayumi nodded vigorously with his words as she fully wanted to try and help. They were taking classes in the hero program for a reason. If they did nothing now, why did they waste time even signing up to join U.A?
"Yes, but we're not allowed to work as heroes." Momo said. "You know that."
"Does that mean it's right for us to do nothing at all?" Shoto pressed.
"Well, it's complicated," Momo said looking down.
She and Tenya both wished they could help, but in doing so, they would break so many rules…and go against All Might's wishes. Ayano sighed before stepping up.
"Yes, it is," Ayano agreed. "But I think we all know what we need to do. I know it's scary, but we've faced villains before at the U.S.J, remember?"
"Ishida, those villains were untrained thugs." Denki reminded her.
"And we were barely trained students in the beginning of our journey of learning to become heroes," Ayano retorted gently. "But we've grown since then, haven't we?"
Her words brought pause to her classmates as they all looked to her. She had one hand clenched over her chest as the other was curled up into a fist at her side.
"We're not the same as we were a few months ago," Ayano said. "We've worked hard and improved. We've become more. Our opponents are stronger than the last that's true…but I have complete faith that we can overcome this if we just try. Because if we don't do something…who will?"
No one said anything at first, but Melissa was staring at Ayano with wide eyes.
"I'm…with Ayano," Izuku spoke up getting everyone to look at him. "I want to help…"
"Really, Deku?" Ochaco asked.
"I want to save them," Izuku said more firmly.
Ayano smiled because she knew she could count on Izuku to go all hero and want to help everyone. It was just who he is.
"You want to go fight those villains?!" Minoru asked. "Didn't you learn anything from the U.S.J, Midoriya?! I don't care what Ishida said! It's a bad idea!"
"But this is different!" Izuku insisted. "We don't have to fight them. We just have to think of a way to save All Might and everyone else at the part without facing the bad guys."
Some of the others exchanged a glance at his words. He had to realize the flaw in his thinking, right?
"That's easy to say, but you know that it won't be that simple," Denki told him.
"Yeah, I agree with Denki on this one," Ayumi said. "Don't get me wrong, I'm ready to face these jerks if needed. I'm not just going to sit around, but just going in thinking we're going to get through it without a fight, is kind of dumb, Izuku."
The bad guys weren't going just to let them waltz up to where the main system was located. And since they have control over the entire security system, it was highly unlikely they could get by unseen in the first place.
"I know, but I still want to try," Izuku said. "We can figure what the best plan of action is and keep these criminals from winning. We can save everyone."
"Are you sure?" Ochaco asked.
Izuku's determined gaze didn't waver, which was all the answer Ochaco needed. She knew he wouldn't stop until he did just as he said he wanted to do…and that's save those who are captured at the hands of the villains.
"I know where the security system is." Melissa said stepping forward. "It's on the top floor of this tower. If these criminals managed to take control of it then the authentication locks and password have probably been disabled. We should be able to restart the system ourselves. We just have to stay off the villains' radar until we can get to the top floor that's all. If we do that then the whole island will be safe again."
She made it sound simple, but even though it wouldn't be, Ayano was ready to do what had to be done.
"Then it's possible," Izuku murmured.
"Sure, but how do we keep on the low for that long?" Kyoka asked.
"The security system hasn't discovered us yet." Melissa pointed out. "That means the villains probably don't know how it works very well."
That was something that played in their favor but doesn't mean it'd keep them off the radar the entire time.
"So, we avoid fighting anyone and try to get the place back to normal," Shoto summarized. "That could work."
"But I wanna fight some people," Ayumi whined. "These jerks deserve a kick in the teeth for ruining everyone's fun!"
Konan hushed the speedster who continued to pout even if she did stop whining.
"Not bad." Denki said. "What do you think?"
Kyoka nodded ready to go. A sentiment not shared by Minoru who was looking at his classmates as if they were crazy.
"Many of our enemies are most likely gathered there on the top floor," Momo said.
"If we're fast, we won't have to fight them." Izuku said. "When the security system goes back to normal, All Might and the others will be released. They'll immediately jump into action and stop the villains. I know it."
"And you've got the queen of speed on your side," Ayumi said with a grin on her face. "You tell me just what I need to do to get things reset once we get close enough and it'll be done before the baddies even know I was there."
She said this confidentially as she pointed at her chest with her thumb. Shoto looked to her with worry in his eyes as he knew how she liked to run in before really thinking things through. Even if it meant putting herself in danger, she never slowed down. But she was there best option in getting things back online as quick as possible…he'd just have to watch her back.
"Let's do this, guys!" Ochaco said as she jumped up.
"Uraraka." Izuku murmured in shock.
"I don't want to sit around here helpless." She said. "Not if there's something we can actually try. What's important is that we're helping people even if we're not real heroes."
Izuku smiled while standing to his feet to look at the girl with the gravity quirk.
"That's exactly how I feel about things," Izuku said. "We'll follow our hearts and save the island."
"Yeah!" Ochaco agreed.
"Okay, stop with the flirting you two, and let's get going," Ayumi said getting the two to blush crimson. "People in need of saving. Bad guys in need of bashing. Ya know, the usual."
The others started rallying as well and even if Tenya wasn't too sure, he backed up his classmates as well. Ayano watched her friends while glad they were all starting to get on the same page…she was worried about a certain pair of idiots. She had no idea where they were. And it wasn't just them…what about the others on the island?
'Everyone, I hope you're safe,' She silently prayed.
Ayano floated alongside the others as they traveled up the emergency stairs to get to the top floor. Thanks to Momo, Ayano had a circular metal plate to carry herself on, so she could keep up with the others. Running all the way up to the top was something she wouldn't be able to do, and they didn't need her falling over before the real fight began. Though she did feel a bit bad for the others who had to run it.
"Level 30," Tenya said as he paused to check their progress.
Izuku looked back at Melissa, who insisted on coming along despite the danger, as she stood at the back of the group.
"Wait, Melissa, how high does it go?" Izuku asked.
"200th Floor." Melissa replied.
"The what?!" Denki asked in shock.
He knew the building was tall just by looking at it from the outside, but he didn't realize it was that tall.
"That's way too many stairs." Minoru complained.
"But it's still better than running into the villains," Momo said.
"I think I'd rather run into the villains," Ayumi said.
Her comment was ignored as the group reassumed their trek up the stairs. They really didn't have time to waste and the villains weren't just going to wait on them. They traveled higher and higher. Getting to the eightieth level when they ran into another problem.
"The route is blocked." Tenya said.
Ayano frowned because trying to break it down will undoubtedly alert the villains of their presence. Not to mention, she didn't know if they could break through it without overexerting too much power. Power that would be needed to fight the villains.
"What should be do?" Shoto asked. "Break through it?"
"We'd just draw attention to ourselves," Ayano said putting her earlier thoughts out loud.
Melissa nodded in agreement though wasn't sure what else they could do. They had to get by somehow.
"Then why don't we go through this door instead?" Minoru asked reaching for the door next to them.
Izuku and Melissa called out to try and stop the boy, but it was too late as Minoru pulled the door open. The small boy turned to look at his companions in confusion as they were frowning at him.
"What?" He asked.
"You probably just got us caught, ya little gremlin," Denki complained as he frowned at his friend.
Denki looked as if he was going to say more, but when Konan placed her hand on his shoulder, he paused.
"It doesn't matter now," Konan said. "Let's just keep moving."
The others agreed, so they slipped through the open doorway to get off the emergency staircase.
"Is there another way to go up?" Shoto asked as the group ran down another hall.
"There should be another emergency staircase down at the other end of the hallway." Melissa said.
"Then let's hurry." Tenya said.
The others picked up the pace, but before they could get far, they noticed gates were being sealed off throughout the hallway. Looks like the villains were finally onto them.
"The gates!" Izuku gasped.
"The ones behind us too." Momo warned.
Ayano and Tenya whipped around seeing the girl was right. It was obvious what was happening now. The villains were trying to box them in.
"Todoroki!" Tenya called to the boy as the last gate was about to close.
"I'm on it!" Shoto assured while quickly using his ice to force the door to stay open.
Tenya then activated his quirk to run forward at full speed towards a closed off iron door that was blocking their path. He kicked the door with all his might and busted it open to clear a path. Tenya was quick to usher his classmates onward, and Ayano swiftly lifted everyone through the opening left by Shoto in the gate. She followed once everyone was over. The group then entered a room that looked very much like a large greenhouse. Ayano had never seen so many different plants before in her entire life.
"What is this place?" Izuku asked.
"It's a plant factory." Melissa replied. "They research the effects that quirks have on fauna here."
Ayano had to say that was quite interesting and if things weren't as dire as they were now, she'd ask more about it. Maybe once everything was safe and back to normal.
"Hold on!" Kyoka called out getting everyone to stop. "Look! The elevator is coming up."
Once she noticed this as well, Ayano was quick to send out her telepathy to see if she could get a read on how many minds were within the elevator.
"Two people, unfriendly." She reported as she felt their presences.
Izuku quickly told everyone to hide. Everyone moved over to some of the many bushes in the area to crouch down behind before the elevator made its stop. Ayano could hear her classmates' restless thoughts and felt nervous herself. Though she reminded herself to keep calm as she took a deep breath.
'It's easy to be swallowed up in one's emotions. Especially when concerning fear…anger…but you mustn't let them take control,' Nighteye's words came to mind. 'Keep calm. Remember that no matter the enemy, if you fight smart, analyze their moves, and predict the next outcome, you can win.'
That's right. She just had to keep her training in mind. If things did come down to a fight, they would work things out. It was only two villains. And she and her classmates had them out number. Though just thinking that didn't keep her from flinching slightly as the elevator doors dinged to signal the villains' arrival. Ayano looked to her friends as their fear grew.
'Stay calm,' She spoke in their minds.
Though Melissa jumped at the sudden voice inside her head, the others barely flinched at the noise. They did look to Ayano, however, as she stared back unwaveringly.
'We're fine,' Ayano assured them. 'Even if it comes to a fight, we can win if we work together, right?'
The others slowly nodded with those who had been frightened starting to calm down. Though they remained on alert.
"Hey, we see you, stupid kids!" One of the villains called out.
His words had the teens flinching except for Ayano as her eyes widened when two familiar minds entered her own. She looked up in surprise seeing Katsuki and Eijiro of all people before the villains.
'What the hell are they doing here?!' Ayano wondered.
At the sound of her surprise, the others looked seeing what had caught her attention. They were all surprised too when seeing their classmates.
"What'd you say, you bastard?" Katsuki growled as he glared at the villain who spoke.
Eijiro frowned at his friend's behavior as Katsuki looked ready to punch the guy in the face.
'I don't even think they know what's going on,' Konan thought to the others.
'How much you wanna bet the two got lost and they've just been wandering around this entire time?' Ayumi added with a smirk on her face.
She was given unamused looks in reply to her mentally asked question, but she didn't even seem fazed.
"What are you two doing here?" The shorter villain asked them.
"Hmph, that's what I wanna know too," Katsuki scoffed as he started to walk forward.
'Katsuki, no!' Ayano mentally shouted at him.
At the sound of her voice, Katsuki froze with his eyes widening slightly. He wasn't the only one as Eijiro heard her as well since she connected both of their minds to their group.
'Aya, where the hell are you?' Katsuki asked looking around.
'That's not important right now,' Tenya cut in. 'You two are in danger. The two in front of you are villains!'
His words had both Katsuki and Eijiro turning rigid as their eyes snapped back to the men in front of them. Though Katsuki didn't seem too worried as his eyes narrowed.
"Hey, that wasn't an answer to our question!" The taller one shouted as he went in for the attack.
Katsuki and Eijiro immediately went on the defense but didn't have to worry about getting attacked as Shoto shot a wall of ice between the two and the villains.
"Todoroki!" Eijiro exclaimed.
As he really didn't care about Shoto's presence, Katsuki's head whipped around looking pass the boy as Ayano quickly stood from the group's hiding spot. While she looked a bit stressed and concerned, she looked relatively fine. Katsuki felt his nerves calm a bit though his expression remained in its usual scowl. The teens then stiffened when the villains started hitting the ice to try and break it down, but Shoto and Ayano were already on it. As Ayano reinforced Shoto's ice with a psionic wall, Shoto crouched down.
"The four of us can keep them busy down here," Shoto said as he used his ice to get underneath his friends. "Look for a way to get to the top."
"What are you doing?!" Izuku asked.
Then gasped as the ice underneath them shot up into a large ice pillar to get them high off the ground and out of the way.
"We'll be fine," Shoto told them.
"Shoto/Todoroki!" Ayumi and Momo called out in unison.
"We'll be right behind you once we clean up this mess," Shoto assured.
While Momo looked relieved at his words, Ayumi just seemed plain old annoyed.
"How come you get to fight the baddies and I don't?!" She complained.
"That's your concern?!" Denki and Minoru asked in disbelief.
"You're needed more than me when it comes to getting the system online," Shoto reminded Ayumi. "Just try not to do anything reckless."
Ayumi frowned for a bit longer, but she gave a firm nod despite being displeased. They were then up and out of the way, which had Ayano feeling a bit better. At least they weren't all stopped.
"Wait, what's going on, Todoroki, Ishida?" Eijiro asked the two.
"You didn't hear the broadcast alert?" Shoto retorted, which got him confused looks in return. "Never mind then. Some villains have taken over the tower."
"But we'll explain more on that latter." Ayano said. "We have enemies to take care of, remember?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, the villains managed to make themselves a path right through Shoto's ice. They even shattered Ayano's wall. The boys immediately got into defensive stances as Ayano frowned. They could do this. There were four of them and only two villains. Though they had no idea what quirks said villains possess.
"What's with this guy's quirk?" Katsuki asked as he wondered how the taller guy seemed to make Shoto's ice just vanish.
"Stay on your guard," Shoto warned.
"Shut-up, I know that!" Katsuki retorted heatedly.
"This isn't the time to be bickering," Ayano said in exasperation.
Katsuki just snorted in reply though did focus his attention back on the villains. The shorter one stepped up with his whole body starting to shake.
"So, you wanna pick a fight?" He asked before transforming into a giant purple behemoth. "Let's see how tough you really are!"
Shoto took the first shot as he sent a torrent of ice at the villains. The muscle villain easily broke through and charged the students. He went to hit Katsuki, but the blonde dodged by going up. Katsuki then used his explosions to send him flying right back at the villain. He used an explosion on the villain and dropped back down thinking he had won, but he was sorely mistaken when the villain attacked him from behind.
"Katsuki!" Ayano called out in worry.
Though before she could help, she was suddenly hit the gut by some kind of blast and sent flying through the air. She gagged feeling the air knocked right out of her.
"Aya!" Katsuki shouted forgetting all about defending himself.
Luckily, Eijiro stepped in as he shoved Katsuki out of the way. Katsuki gasped in shock as Eijiro, who was using hardening, took the blunt of the attack. He went soaring into the wall behind them with the entire wall shaking from impact.
"Kirishima!" Katsuki yelled feeling frustrated.
"Dodge!" Shoto ordered catching Katsuki's attention.
The blonde used an explosion to send him up in the air once more, which saved him from being hit by the taller villain's weird quirk. He growled in anger with his eyes snapping over to Ayano as she was pushing herself off the floor to look at this third player who arrived. She frowned up at the man who attacked her as he was removing his helmet. The man behind it had a smirk on his face as he looked down at Ayano.
"Sorry, princess," He said. "Hope I didn't hurt you too much."
Ayano's reply to his jab was a sharp wave of her hand that sent the man flying. She had him in her hold, but he broke out of it forcibly by using a blast of energy from his body. He sent rings of the same energy at her, but she snagged the metal plate Momo had made her earlier off the ground to jump onto. She got herself out of the way in time and regrouped with the boys, so the three students were back to back with the villains squarely in their sights.
"You kids know how to fight, don't you?" The taller villain asked.
"Where'd you come from?" The muscular villain asked.
"You couldn't be pros at your age, so the real question is: What hero academy do you attend?" The last villain, who had showed up out of nowhere, questioned.
Ayano frowned narrowing her eyes at the man. He was obviously smarter than the other two. He easily deduced they had to be hero students of some kind.
"Yeah right," Katsuki snorted. "Like we'd tell a few weak-ass villains!"
"Why would we tell you anything?" Shoto added.
"Yeah, sorry, boys," Ayano said as she placed a finger over her lips. "But that information isn't something for you to know."
She then waved her arm out in front of her to send a volley of psionic orbs at the three villains. They all went to dodge with the taller villain and the muscular villain falling right into Shoto and Katsuki's hands. As her two classmates took care of those two villains, Ayano set her sights on the third who had jumped up into the air to dodge. He twisted his body around while still in air with those energy rings from earlier flying at her.
She put up a thick wall between her and the blasts with them going off harmlessly on the other side. She dropped the wall with the villain coming through the smoke at her. She flew to the side ignoring all the noise going on behind her even when Katsuki's explosion made the entire room shake and sent her clothes and hair whirling around her. Though the explosion did throw off her opponent who had looked away from her. Even if it was a mere second, Ayano used it to her advantage as she hit him hard with another volley of orbs.
He crashed into the ground but was quick to get back to his feet. He sent twice as many energy rings at her in retaliation to her attack. She boxed up the rings instantly and sent them and his attack right back at him. He shouted in surprised as he was struck with his own quirk as the rings exploded in his face. He was sent flying and fell to the ground hard as Shoto incased his villain in ice. It also looked as if Katsuki finished with his villain as well, so the three quickly went to check on Eijiro who was still stuck in the wall.
"Kirishima," Katsuki called out.
"Are you okay?" Shoto inquired.
"Nothing is broken, right?" Ayano asked as she crouched down next to him.
She even placed her hand on his chest as she looked at him in concern. Katsuki frowned at the action with his eye twitching in annoyance.
"Um, I can't move." Eijiro told them. "Can you get me out of here?"
"Are you that stupid?" Katsuki asked with a bit more bite than was really needed. "Just turn your damn quirk off, you idiot!"
Eijiro blinked before he sheepishly smiled as he realized Katsuki was right. Eijiro even chuckled at his silliness.
"Oh right," He said as he did as he was instructed to do to get loose. "Guess I should have thought of that."
Ayano just smiled as she was glad that the redhead was okay in the end. That hit he had taken had been a tough one.
"I'm just glad to see you're not injured." Shoto said.
Ayano nodded in agreement before helping Eijiro up onto his feet, so they could get going.
"Yeah, same to you guys." Eijiro returned.
Katsuki just scoffed as he looked away from his three classmates while stuffing his hands into his pockets. Though despite his foul mood, he paused.
"Thank you," He said gruffly while not turning around.
"Wow, where did that come from?" Eijiro asked. "Don't worry about it."
"I'm not worried!" Katsuki snapped turning around.
"Aw, I think you're blushing, Kacchan," Ayano teased.
Katsuki shot her a look with his face actually heating up, but he just growled in response.
"Right, let's catch up with the others," Shoto said.
"Don't order me around!" Katsuki snapped.
Though he did follow along as Ayano and Shoto headed in the direction Shoto had sent the others.
"Todoroki, Ishida, time to give us some details," Eijiro said.
He and Katsuki both needed to know what was going on before they went further. If they knew what was happening, they could perhaps prepare for it. Though it would seem an explanation would have to wait since before the group could get far, they were faced with the island's security drones. Ayano frowned at the small red robots as they were making their way towards the teens.
"Looks like they're getting serious." Shoto said.
"Then I suppose we should as well." Ayano said as she stepped off the plate onto the ground.
The boys watched as Ayano walked forward to meet the robots. Curious as to what she had planned they stayed back out of her way
'I've never tried to lift so many things at once, but I think I can manage,' Ayano thought to herself as she raised her hand. 'I'll just have to be quick. Take them out before the strain becomes too much.'
With that in mind, Ayano started to lift the robots off the ground. The boys' eyes widened in surprise as they watched all the robots start to float. The robots started to spin around like a mini-bot tornado. Their speed increased as Ayano's hand curled up slightly.
"And crunch," She said as she closed her hand completely into a fist.
The bots all smashed into each other while also compacting in on themselves. Ayano dropped them after that as she felt a sharp pain in her head. She winced placing one hand on the side of her head. She didn't have time to worry about the pain though. She brought the plate back to her while stepping onto it. Another throb went through her head, but she ignored it.
"Okay," She said.. "Let's go."
Katsuki frowned at her façade as he stepped up to her. He grabbed her wrist while looking up into her eyes as her floating off the ground put her head above his.
'Stop pushing yourself so much, moron,' He told her mentally. 'I don't need you passing out on me when it counts.'
'I'll be fine,' Ayano replied with a shake of her head.
'I won't repeat myself,' Katsuki snarled in return. 'Put your damn feet on the ground.'
He then let go of her wrist as he turned away while telling Shoto to hurry up and get them up to where he had sent the others earlier. Ayano kept quite as Shoto put ice underneath them, but she did let herself touch down to let Shoto take them up.
"There they are!" Eijiro said pointing as he and the rest of the group found Izuku and a few of the others.
Ayano saw Izuku, Ayumi, and Melissa floating above them most likely due to Ochaco's quirk. Which explained why the girl wasn't defending herself against the oncoming robots. Konan, who was also there, was trying to defend them as she sent her paper to slow the robots down. Though many were pushing through despite Konan's best efforts. Though it seemed as if the girl was moving sluggishly as if she was already worn out.
There was no telling what kind of fights they had to go through to get here. Over half of their group wasn't even with them anymore. But Konan and Ochaco kept pushing despite that. Even when more robots slipped by. The robots were almost on top of the two girls when they arrived, but thanks to Katsuki's fast reaction time, he was over and sending those robots flying with explosions before they could get to Ochaco and Konan.
"Kacchan!" Izuku gasped in shock.
The greenette then noticed Shoto, Ayano, and Eijiro as well as Shoto froze some of the robots in place and Ayano threw some into each other to break them.
"Todoroki, Kirishima, and Ishida!" Ochaco said in relief when seeming them as well.
Shoto went to step in front of the brunette to shield her from the onslaught of robots as Eijiro immediately went to help Katsuki take some bots down. Ayano paused, however, as she looked up at their floating friends.
"That was close," Shoto said. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, fine," Ochaco said. "I used my quirk on those three. They should be able to reach the top."
"Good job," Shoto praised. "Now you can help us stop these things!"
He used more of his ice to stop the robots as Katsuki, who took down several more, growled in anger.
"Who died and made you boss?!" Katsuki demanded.
"Come on, man, you're a good team!" Eijiro said.
"Dream on!" Katsuki retorted.
Izuku went to thank his friends for their help, but when one of the wind turbines sent them off course, he didn't get the chance. He and Melissa both cried out in shock as Ayumi grit her teeth. This wasn't good at all.
"Oh no!" Ochaco cried as their friends were carried off. "They're blowing away!"
"I have them!" Ayano said. "Worry about the robots!"
Ochaco nodded her head then watched as the ginger-haired girl flew up to get their friends. She used her telekinesis to grab them, so Ochaco released her quirk. Ayano gasped feeling herself blown slightly off course due to the wind from the turbine. She put her hand out behind her to place up a wall to keep the wind at bay. Ayano winced feeling the same pressure from earlier.
"Izuku, I can't keep this up for long," Ayano said surprising her friend. "So, I hope you're okay with not using the door."
She then threw the trio towards the wall, which had Melissa shouting in surprise. Izuku was quick to react, however, as he used One for All to punch a hole through the side of the building. Ayano quickly floated in after the group while touching down as soon as she was in. She looked to the group laid out on the floor.
"Sorry, about that," She said. "I might have pushed things earlier, so my quirk is a bit stretched thin at the moment."
"You're good." Izuku said giving her a thumbs up. "Thanks for the help."
Ayano nodded before stiffening when she felt the oncoming mind behind her. Though she didn't need to worry as Ayumi, who was quick as always, spun up onto her feet and rammed into the would-be attacker. The man slammed into the wall behind the group as Ayumi stepped in front of Ayano. The man though fazed soon stood back onto his feet as his hands and arms seemed to become swords.
"Nice try at a sneak attack, pal," Ayumi said. "But you've got to be quicker than that to get the drop on me. And compared to the last guy I faced who had a liking for swords the same as you…well, you don't really hold a candle."
"You dumb brat!" The man roared going in for an attack.
He was stopped by Izuku though this time as the greenette hit the man cross the face with his fist. He went spiraling into the stairs where he landed with a crunch. The impact was so hard even the stairs crumbled.
"Yay for teamwork." Ayumi said giving Izuku a thumbs up.
Izuku smiled giving her a thumbs up in return. The group then started heading up as they still had work to do. Melissa was kept at the back of the group for her own protection with Ayano in front of her as she would be the best at defending the girl. There were a few goons here and there as they hurried to the 200th floor, but they were easily taken down by the three hero course students.
"Melissa," Izuku addressed the blonde as they kept moving. "Where's the control room located?"
"In front of the central elevator." Melissa replied.
Ayano hoped that wasn't far because the throbbing in her head was turning much worse. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep it up. She was trying to save herself from the strain by not using her quirk as she ran along with the others through the top floor's hallways. But it was only helping slightly. Izuku then came to a halt before he could round the next corner, which brought the others to a halt. He crouched down looking around the corner with the girls peeking around as well.
"Someone's in there," Izuku said meaning the room down the hall that looked like a giant safe.
Ayano immediately took note of the two men inside the room. They certainly didn't look like villains. They weren't even wearing the same uniforms as the others.
"Huh, Papa!" Melissa gasped as she was looking to the brown-haired man at the large computer in the room.
"Wow, it is." Izuku agreed.
"Why is he on the top floor?" Melissa wondered.
"The villains probably brought him here," Ayumi guessed. "Maybe they need something from him?"
Melissa couldn't think of what they could want. Yes, her father was a brilliant scientist, but there were other bright minds here as well. They could have grabbed anyone.
"We have to help him," Melissa fretted.
Ayano frowned feeling like something was wrong about this entire thing. Even without peeking inside the mind of Melissa's father, she could see by his body language and expression…he wasn't in duress. Yes, he seemed pensive, but determined as well. And she saw no villains nearby. He and his friend probably could have made a run for it considering they had no guards posted on them yet here they were. She kept her mouth shut, however, as she moved forward with the group to try and reach the man and his companion. When they finally got close enough, they could begin to hear the men's conversation.
"You did it, Professor!" The blonde male said with a smile on hi face. "Look, everything is here! It's perfect!"
Ayano peeked inside the room along with the others to see the blonde holding open a case with some kind of device inside.
'What is that thing?' She asked mentally to the others.
'I…I don't know,' Melissa replied. 'I've never seen it before.'
Well, whatever it was it had to have been locked up for a reason, and Ayano didn't like the fact that it was now out of its safe.
"Finally," Melissa's dad said. "I've gotten it back. All my research…and they just took my device away from me…but now it's mine."
Ayano's eyes widened slightly as she exchanged a glance with Izuku. He too looked shocked, but the two of them were starting to connect the pieces together. This was all a set up.
"It was just like we planned," His blonde friend said as he stepped around to the stairs. "And it looks like the villains are holding things down."
"Thank you," Melissa's dad said as he started up the stairs. "I couldn't have done any of this without your help, Sam."
At his words, Melissa was quick to leave the teens' hiding spot, and before the three heroes-in-training could stop her she marched herself into the room.
"…Papa…" She whispered.
Despite her soft tone, both men whipped around to stare at her in shock as the other three teens made themselves known as well. Though they kind of stood back as Melissa addressed her father.
"Melissa," Her dad said in surprise. "…No…"
"Miss, what are you doing here?" Sam added.
Melissa didn't reply to his question as she continued to stare at them both—her father especially—in disbelief.
"What does he mean that it's exactly as you planned it?" Melissa questioned as she stepped forward slowly. "Don't tell me that you're the one behind this. This was all of you…just to steal something? No, that can't be true."
Her father flinched at her words as he had to momentarily look away from his girl's horrified gaze. Though he soon took a deep breath as he reopened his eyes to look at Melissa.
"Yes, it is." He confirmed.
Melissa flinched as if his words were a literal slap to the face, and Ayano really couldn't blame her.
"Papa, how could you?!" Melissa demanded to know.
"The Professor is only trying to get back what was stolen," Sam defended her father. "The invention inside this briefcase can amplify someone's quirk."
Ayano's brow shot up at the news as Sam held up the case with said device inside of it. She's heard of drugs amplifying quirks as its something some of the sidekicks at Nighteye's agency was working on. Apparently, quirk enhancing drugs were starting to circulate and they were trying to bust the source. Though she's never a device could be made to do the same thing.
"Wait, is that even possible?" Izuku asked.
"Yes, it's still being tested, of course," Sam said. "But unlike with drugs, this device can magnify a person's quirk without doing any damage to their body or brain. Yet despite that…"
Ayano tuned out most of Sam's explanation that was to explain just "why they had to do this", but there was no justification for what they have done. But that isn't why she tuned him out. She could hear the approaching minds of others heading their way.
'We have hostiles incoming,' Ayano told both Izuku and Ayumi.
She left Melissa out of the loop mostly because the girl isn't used to Ayano's telepathy quite yet and she didn't need the girl's reactions or expressions giving them away. Izuku and Ayumi barely blinked at her words, but the hardening in their eyes showed they were listening.
'Jinsoku, get ready to grab Melissa and run.' Izuku instructed. 'We need that security system back online as soon as possible. Ayano and I will handle the villains and try to keep Professor David Shield and his assistant safe as well.'
'I can handle that no problem,' Ayumi replied. 'Just tell me when.'
Izuku subtly nodded as his hands curled up into fists in anticipation for the fight to come.
"The Papa I know, and love wouldn't act like a villain, no matter what!" Melissa was saying as Ayano tuned back into the conversation. "So, why?!"
"I had to…for All Might." David said shocking the four teens. "You four probably aren't aware of this…but his quirk is disappearing."
Ayano's eyes immediately shot over to Izuku after David said this to see her friend look completely devastated. Ayano had a feeling that things would come to this. All Might passed on his quirk to Izuku, so she had theorized that that mean, All Might wouldn't be able to be All Might much longer. She's seen the strain it takes him just to keep up his muscle form. How much each change seems to take a much larger toll on him…she never asked him to confirm it. She never talked to Izuku about it either as she knew her friend would be just racked with guilt.
'All Might…is losing his quirk?' Ayumi's concerned thoughts filtered through Ayano and Izuku's minds, which had them looking over at her.
Izuku looked almost panicked as he seemed to remember her presence. Ayano frowned knowing this could be bad if Ayumi learned too much. But they couldn't worry about that for now.
"However, if he uses this device, he will be his old self…no…his abilities will be even stronger than they were!" David said. "The Number One Hero—the Symbol of Peace—will get his strength and light back again! He can keep saving people just like he always has."
Ayano frowned understanding in a way why the professor was doing this, but it didn't change the situation. It didn't change the fact that people were hurt. It didn't erase the trails they went through to get here. It didn't take away the fear his actions brought not only to the people at the preview but her friends as well. This all needed to end now.
'Jinsoku, go,' Ayano gave the simple order. 'And be careful, I'm sure there are still villains posted at the controls.'
Without hesitation Ayumi snatched up Melissa, who gasped in surprise, before zooming off with her.
"Melissa!" David called in worry.
"Melissa will be fine, Professor," Ayano said as she stepped forward. "I'd be more worried about you. Now, please, hand over the device and turn yourselves in."
She said this calmly. Her tone unwavering as Izuku stood behind her. Though he kept his back to the door, he remained alert for the villain threat that Ayano had mentioned earlier.
"No, please, just let me hand this device over to All Might first." David pleaded. "There's no time to remake it! Then I will take whatever punishment necessary."
"I don't think All Might-sensei would want that thing after all that had to happen for you to get your hands on it," Ayano said as she narrowed her eyes. "People have been hurt. Terrified and put through so much because of it. I think he'd rather it be destroyed than use it."
Her words seemed to truly shock David as his eyes widened in confusion. He honestly didn't seem to understand just what she was saying.
"No…what do you mean?" He asked as Ayano sensed the villains walk into the room. "The villains are fake…it's all supposed to be an act."
"Of course, it was all an act," The main boss said causing the others to turn and look at him. "But the real act was pretending we aren't criminals."
The man in charge stood between two flunkies. One was wearing one of those stupid helmets from earlier and the other some kind of half-mask with a large lens over his eye.
"You're the boss!" Izuku said as he got ready to fight.
The head villain smirked then raised his hand as he readied to use his quirk on the teens.
'Izuku, move!' Ayano ordered.
Izuku jumped out and out of the way as the villain bended the iron rails in the room to send flying where Izuku had once stood. The rails changed direction heading for Ayano, but she used a wall to deflect them. She then sent a volley of orbs at the boss. However, the long-haired man hearing the half mask got in the way. He didn't seem to do anything, but suddenly Ayano felt her entire body go numb as a pulse of some kind hit her before her brain went blank. She sunk to the ground to her knees with the light leaving her eyes.
"Ayano!" Izuku called in worry.
His friend didn't respond, so he went to go to her side. However, as he was distracted, the boss used that metal railing from earlier to capture him. He slammed Izuku into the wall and tightened the railing painfully around his body. Izuku grunted trying to break free but the railing only tightened more.
"You'd be smart not to resist." The boss said as he walked forward. "Especially when your pretty little friend can't even defend herself at the moment."
Izuku grit his teeth together before his eyes flickered back to Ayano who still wasn't reacting.
"Sam, hand it over," The boss ordered the lab assistant.
Though he briefly hesitated, Sam snagged the case out of David's hands to rush down the stairs towards the villains.
"Here you go," Sam said.
"Sam…this was your plan?" David asked in disbelief. "You were going to hand it over all along?"
"You're the one who tricked me professor!" Sam retorted. "I've been your assistant for all these years…and you let them take our work. We could have had fame and fortune, but no…I just want more. I need to be rewarded!"
David's eyes widened at Sam's words as he had no idea that the man he had thought of as a friend felt that way.
"Otherwise my career was a complete waste of time," Sam added.
Though it wouldn't seem as if Sam would be getting anything as the boss raised his bun.
"Here's the payment I promised you." He said then pulled the trigger.
But before the bullet could get Sam, the other villain got in the way. Bones sprouted from his raised arm and mended together to form a shield of shorts to block the bullet. The bone surprisingly stopped the bullet it its tracks and caused it to fall to the ground harmlessly. After the ringing caused by the bullet stopped, the room went eerily quiet.
"This entire situation is just one betrayal after another, isn't it?" The man who saved Sam commented with a tsk. "Way too much drama for my taste, but whatever."
The man's bone then broke apart the shield it had created to form back into its normal shape. It then retracted back into his body to reveal the man had also taken off his mask. Izuku's eyes widened at the sight of the man who arrived.
'It's the Skeletal Hero: Gaunt!' Izuku realized. 'He worked a lot alongside All Might back when the two became pros! What's he doing here?'
The man had become a recluse some time ago and there were a lot of rumors floating around about him. Some people thought he died while on the job. Others say the life was too much for him and retired young. Then there were the outrageous rumors that suggested he had gone rogue and became a villain himself.
"Who the hell are you?!" The boss demanded as he kept his weapon trained on the pro-hero.
"Just an old friend of the Professor's is all." The man said with a shrug. "And a concerned father here to protect his little girl. So, I ask that you tell your flunky to undo his quirk before I lose the very little patience I have."
Izuku was even more shocked as he looked from Gaunt to Ayano who was still sitting on the ground in a daze. David stiffened as well as his eyes went over to Ayano. He now took a very good look at her and realized the girl was an exact copy of Etsudo. How had he not realized it before? Was he so blinded by his desperate attempt to save All Might with his device that he overlooked her?
"Your little girl?" The boss asked before giving a laugh. "You mean the brat over there. Sorry but it wouldn't be in my best interest to do that. An associate of mine warned me about her. Thought she might be on the island and told me to neutralize her as soon as possible. He also asked for me to bring her back with us as payment for his help on this job. It's why he equipped one of my men with a quirk to nullify her abilities."
While Izuku was a bit confused by the boss's statement, Gaunt's eyes widened in surprise.
'That bastard has a hand in this?!' He thought in a rage.
"So, no, we won't be letting her go." The boss continued. "She and the professor both are coming with us!"
The boss then whipper around taking a shot at David. Gaunt, of course, went to intervene only to be stabbed through the side by a metal rod the boss snuck up behind him. Izuku shouted as he watched the rod go in through the right side of Gaunt and out left. Blood spurted across the ground both from Gaunt's wound and the gunshot that David had taken to the shoulder. Despite this pain, however, David crawled forward to look at his friend.
"Giichi!" David called.
"I'm fine!" Giichi called back. "But now I'm mad. Don't expect me to go easy on you now, villains!"
The boss just smirked looking ready for a fight, but everything paused when they heard the security system whirl back to life.
"Who turned back on the security system?!" The boss demanded.
"Those two kids who escaped earlier, you dumbass." Giichi said. "Did you really not notice them? And you're supposed to be a professional."
The boss turned growling at Giichi before bringing down another metal rod. This one aimed right at Giichi's neck. Seeing the man in danger, Izuku gave another shot while using all his strength to break free. Once he was out of the villain's hold, he jumped forward while punching the rod away.
"Good job, Midoriya Izuku." Giichi told the greenette. "Now…look after Ayano."
As Giichi ripped the rod out of his body and prepared to fight, Izuku hurried over to Ayano. He put his arms around his friend while trying to get anything from her, but she just fell limp in his arms.
"Ayano!" Izuku shouted. "Please, wake up! Ayano!"
Ayano blinked looking around in confusion to see she was in a place she had never seen before. The place looked to be someone's home. It was quaint, but something about it was so welcoming…warm.
"Where I am?" She wondered as she looked around. "What happened to the others?"
She then heard a noise coming from down the hall between the living room and kitchen.
"Hello?" She called out. "Is someone there?"
She received no answer. She sent out her mind to see if she could hear any thoughts, but she sensed nothing. In fact, it was like her quirk wasn't working at all.
"What's going on?" She asked looking down at her hands.
Though before she could try to test her other abilities another sound came. She frowned not liking this a bit, but despite her nervousness, she stepped forward. She started walking down the hall in search of the source of the sound. As she went down the hall, she noticed family pictures on the wall. She paused to look at them. In the first picture there was an image of Sebone Giichi and Etsudo. It appeared to be their wedding as Etsudo was in a beautiful white kimono and Giichi was dressed up as well as he was carrying Etsudo in his arms. There were several people in the background of the photo that included All Might and Principal Nezu.
The second photo showed Etsudo in a hospital. She was laying back in the bed and holding a baby in her arms. Etsudo looked exhausted but was smiling brightly as Giichi had his arms wrapped around her and the baby both. The baby had white hair like Giichi but eyes like Etsudo and the baby appeared to be crying in the photo. Farther down Etsudo and Giichi were with two children. The baby from the second photo was now a young girl and she was playing with a smaller child with the same white hair but with eyes that were pitch black unlike her own.
The last photo to catch Ayano's attention was showed the family of four had grown into five. Etsudo was holding a ginger-haired baby in her arms with the two older girls crowding around to stare down at the baby in wonder. Giichi was holding the middle child in his arms, so let the girl lean over as far as she wanted without landing on top of the baby she was staring so intently at.
"Is that…me?" Ayano wondered as she stared at the baby. "Then the other two girls…are my sisters?"
She knew of Etsudo and Giichi, but Nighteye never really mentioned anything about her having siblings.
"But how am I seeing this?" Ayano asked.
"These are our memories," A voice spoke behind Ayano.
The girl quickly whirled around seeing…herself? No, it wasn't her. It was just something that looked like her. An entity of some sorts.
"Who are you?" Ayano asked. "Where I am?"
"We are us," The Entity replied gesturing between itself and Ayano. "This place is our mind."
Ayano frowned at the replies given as she felt it only raised more questions than answers.
"We have been suppressed for too long." The Entity continued. "Separated from each other but now we are united once more but still not whole."
Ayano took a step back from the Entity. She didn't know what was going on, but she didn't like it. She needed to get back to the others. She needed to help them.
"Who are you?" Ayano asked again.
"We are Hive for we are many." The Entity said. "Together since birth and together until death."
"What does that even mean?!" Ayano demanded getting frustrated. "I don't have time for whatever this is! My friends need me!"
Despite her raised tone and angered expression, the Entity before her merely tilted her head.
"If that is the wish of the One, Hive will assist." The Entity replied. "Hive will save friends."
"Dammit!" Katsuki cursed as he quickly had to use an explosion to dodge the upcoming attack.
He landed on the ground roughly after getting away before wincing as his arms screamed in protest to the overuse of his quirk. He grit this teeth in frustration. This isn't what he was expecting to come and find after the security system came back online. It was total chaos. All Might was restrained. The pro-hero Katsuki didn't know was scaling the metal monstrosity to get to All Might and the civilian the villain had in his grip, butt wasn't getting far.
That idiot Deku was hunched over on the ground unable to move. Shoto was wearing out too and the rest of their classmates were basically huddled together unable to do shit. It all pissed him off, but what pissed him off most of all was the stay Ayano was in. When they finally caught up to the others, Katsuki had seen Ayano in Izuku's arms completely unresponsive. Even at the sound of his shouts, she didn't even flinch. He didn't know what was going on, but it was more than just her being unconscious he could tell that much.
'Just what the hell happened?' He thought heatedly.
He then had to quickly move as more of those metal pillars came swarming him. He sent himself up in the air to avoid them. However, he forgot all about them as he and the others watched as All Might was completely crushed by the large blocks of metal brought together by the villain.
"All Might, no!" Many of them shouted.
Then gasped in horror when the villain skewered the metal mass with sharp metal poles. Katsuki landed on the ground not believing his eyes.
"Uncle Might, no!" Melissa screamed.
Giichi, who was near reaching David at this point, cursed. Things were just getting worse. He underestimated their opponent. As he tried to quickly decide what to do next, two things happened simultaneously. First, Izuku was up and launching himself at the metal prison holding All Might and as his fist impacted the mass, a wave of pure psychic energy tore through. Everyone gasped watching as Izuku managed to free All Might as the psychic attack seemed to slice right through the metal pillar created by the villain. It took a large chunk out of the mass and in doing so cut David Shield free.
"Papa!" Melissa called as he started falling.
Though before he could get too far, Giichi snatched the scientist up in his arms. He took the injured man out of the way of the fight as everyone turned to the source that freed David.
"Aya!" Katsuki gasped when seeing the girl was up on her feet.
She looked exhausted just like the rest of them and ready to kill over at any second. However, despite that, she stood tall as she faced the villain.
"The Professor is out of the way," She said. "So, you better go all out and end this, All Might!"
All Might who was momentarily stunned by both Izuku and Ayano's interference soon grinned as he chuckled. Izuku looked at him curiously at his grin.
"You two are too reckless." All Might said. "But I would have been in quite a bind without you. Will you lend me your aid once more, Young Midoriya?"
He held out his hand as he asked this, and Izuku reached out to take it with a determined look in his eyes.
"Yes, sir." Izuku said with a nod.
All Might then pulled the boy to his feet before the two of them turned to face the treat in front of them.
"Let's go!" All Might said.
"Yes, sir!" Izuku replied.
The two shot forward after that while not hesitating in the slightest as they made their way towards the villain. Of course, the villain, who had been stunned by the previous attacks, wasn't going to make it easy for them as he readied to retaliate.
"There's no way you can stop me." The villain said. "You insignificant pests, and you don't know when to lie down and be crushed!"
He sent large chunks of metal at the two charging heroes, but the villain seemed to forget the two weren't fighting alone. Katsuki growled as he faced the villain from where he stood.
"You're the one who doesn't know when he's beat!" Katsuki retorted before sending a large barrage of explosions at the offending metal objects.
It knocked the chunks out of the sky, but that wasn't the villains only trick as he had those metal pillars, which he also sent at All Might and Izuku. He was stopped again, however, as Shoto stepped in this time.
"I won't let you stop them!" Shoto declared using his ice to freeze the pillars in place.
This allowed Izuku and All Might to jump in closer and gain even more ground. But the villain wasn't giving in just yet.
"This is over!" The villain shouted.
He sent out more of those pillars, but this time his targets weren't All Might and Izuku. No, it looked as if he was trying to take out the others, so they wouldn't be able to assist in the battle any longer. However, he didn't hit his targets as Ayano raised everyone off the ground and safely up into the air via the psionic boxes she built. She even got Giichi and David off the roof. Giichi stared down at his daughter with an unreadable expression.
'Nighteye's right…' Giichi realized. 'She's stronger now, but this is more than that…Don't tell me the psychic blocks have worn off?'
Though it was something he'd have to worry about later as there were more pressing matters at hand. The fighting below continued, but this time it was just All Might and Izuku against the villain. Even Ayano, who used some debris, left the battle by floating herself up beside her companions.
'We'll have to leave the rest to them,' Ayano thought.
All Might and Izuku kept pressing forward. Even with everything being thrown at them they continued forward, but Ayano didn't expect any less from them. No matter what condition they are in. No matter the situation those two…are just too stubborn to quit. It seemed the villain realized this as well as he tried one last desperate attempt to take All Might and Izuku down. He collected all the metal he could into one giant cube and sent it hurtling towards the pair.
"I'll bring down this entire tower!" The villain shouted.
His words didn't deter the two fighting against him as they jumped up to meet the oncoming attack. They both reared their fists back with what could only be described as pure power collecting around them. They hit the metal cube head on with the villain doing everything he could to keep it whole and push them back with it. The two heroes prevailed smashing through the cube to continue up to their target. As they continued to soar upwards, the others rallied behind them.
"Deku!" Ochaco shouted.
"Stop him, All Might!" Kyoka, Konan, Ayumi, and Momo called.
"Go, Midoriya!" Tenya, Eijiro, and Minoru cheered.
"Destroy this guy!" Shoto and Katsuki yelled.
Ayano just smiled knowing it was all over for the villain as All Might and Izuku went in for the finishing blow. With two Plus Ultra-fueled punches, the two defeated the villain in one flashy blow just as the sun broke the horizon behind them.
"They did it," Tenya said.
His words brought cheers from the others as Ayano just sighed in relief. She set everyone down while feeling the fatigue begin to return. She lowered herself as well while subconsciously going straight to Katsuki who reached for her as she neared. She fell into his arms while wrapping her arms around his neck.
"You idiot." He said as he held her. "I told you not to push yourself."
Coco: And this is where I'm leaving it off XD I know it looks like a I've leaving a lot of things hanging as there was a lot happening in this chapter, but I'll say it again, I will wrap things up in the following chapter, I promise.
Later, guys!
