Last chapter of this story but I am working on a sequel! Any thoughts or ideas for what you would like to see? I'm thinking glimpses into Harry's second chance childhood and then him and his friends starting Hogwarts.
Also, if anyone has a wattpad account, I started a wolf shifter story called Moonstruck by the same user name I use here so check it out if it sounds like something you would be interested in!
Lily was hurrying through the hallway, Harry almost having to run to keep up with her. They turned a corner and Lily stopped just before running into someone. "Oh! Sorry Peter!" She apologized.
"No problem. Where are you going?" Peter asked, his beady eyes darting around the hallway.
"I'm taking Harry to the Burrow for his lessons," Lily said. "Come on, Harry, we have to hurry. I'm late for my meeting with Professor Flitwick." She took Harry's hand.
"I could take him," Peter offered. "I don't mind."
Lily gave him a smile. "That's sweet but it's okay. See you later, Peter."
"I should walk with you," Peter said, following them. "For safety. You know," He glanced around. "The death eater students," He whispered.
Lily shared an amused look with Harry. "You can walk us to the floo in McGonagall's office. Thank you, Peter."
"Sure," Peter gave her a small smile.
Harry was still holding his mum's hand as they walked into the office. McGonagall wasn't in there so Lily grabbed the floo powder container, letting go of Harry's hand as she did. "Thanks for walking us, Peter. We'll be fine now."
"Right," Peter shifted from one foot to the other. "Um, you know how the dark lord wants to talk to Harry? Why not just let him?" He blurted out.
"What?" Lily stared at him. Harry did too.
"Just let him talk to Harry. He just wants to talk," Peter shrugged. "Then you don't have to worry about someone taking him from you. And the dark lord won't be angry."
"I couldn't care less if Voldemort is angry," Lily said, still staring at Peter. "He's insane and I don't want him anywhere near my son."
Harry scowled at Peter.
"He's powerful," Peter said with wide eyes.
"I don't care," Lily snapped, irritated with him. She would definitely be telling James about this. "You can go now, Peter."
Peter started to turn and just as Lily was about to throw down the floo powder, he spun back around and whisked out his wand. "Stupefy!" Lily instantly dropped to the floor.
"Mum!" Harry stared in horror at his unconscious mother. He knelt down next to her. "Mummy," He whispered, shaking her arm. "Wake up!"
Peter threw down some floo powder and grabbed Harry by the arm. "Lestrange Manor Pura Sanguine!" he called.
"No!" Harry shouted as the green flames engulfed them.

Peter dragged Harry from the floo into a dark sitting room. A surprised looking house-elf stared at them.
"I need to speak with the dark lord," Peter said in a shaky voice. "I was told he was staying here."
"Bitzy will let Mistress Lestrange know there are visitors," Bitzy squeaked out before popping away.
Harry kept trying to tug his hand free. When that failed, he began kicking him. "Let me go, you rat!"
"Stop, you little brat!" Peter grunted as Harry kicked his shin hard. "All you have to do is talk to him!"
"He's evil, he'll kill me!" Harry glared at him. "You turned out to be bad in this time, just like in my time. I knew you couldn't be trusted!" He accused.
Peter paled. "I'm just trying to do the right thing. This will keep us safe. We're all in danger because of you! If you just talk to -"
"I don't want to talk to Voldemort!"
"How dare you say his name!" Bellatrix swept into the room, her dark eyes piercing. "Show some respect!"
"No," Harry glared at her.
Bellatrix smirked. "You don't have anyone to protect you here, you stupid child. I would watch the way you talk to me," She warned, her wand pointing at him.
Harry didn't look at her, he was too busy staring at the person who had just walked into the room. Rodolphus Lestrange followed by...
"Voldemort," Harry whispered in horror.
Peter's eyes widened and he stepped back.
"My, you are a daring one," Voldemort drawled as he looked Harry over. "And a small one."
"I'm a child, duh," Harry spat.
Voldemort's eyes narrowed at him. "But you were older once, weren't you? That's what I have heard."
Harry stayed silent. Voldemort smirked and turned to Peter.
"What is your name?"
"Peter Pettigrew," Peter said nervously.
"What have you heard about him?" Voldemort demanded.
"He -" Peter hesitated.
"Well?" Voldemort asked impatiently.
"He kills you in his time," Peter whispered.
Harry shut his eyes.
Voldemort's eyes darkened. "Is that so?" He whispered, his eyes focusing on Harry.
"That's a lie!" Bellatrix hissed. "As if this child could destroy someone as powerful as you, Master." She said to Voldemort.
"He's seventeen when he does it," Peter said in a small voice. He glanced at Harry. "There was a prophecy and he was the only one who could destroy you."
Harry was surprised Peter knew that. He thought his parents had been careful about what they said in front of him.
"How do you know this?" Rodolphus asked, glancing at Voldemort.
"I heard his parents talking about it," Peter said, his eyes darting nervously around.
"Liar! They didn't trust you to talk in front of you." Harry snapped.
"Luckily, they didn't notice a small rat nearby," Peter snapped back.
Voldemort laughed. "You're an Animagus. How clever. Well, after you graduate you come to me and I will make you a death eater as a reward for bringing me the child. You may go now." His red eyes landed back on Harry. "You and I shall now have a chat." He twirled his wand.
"Wait, I can't leave him here," Peter protested. "I thought...you talk to him and then I take him back to Hogwarts. Right? That's what Evan Rosier told me would happen."
Voldemort cackled and Bellatrix and Rodolphus laughed insanely. "He told you what he needed to to get you to bring me the boy. Now go." Voldemort ordered.
Peter hesitated, glancing at Harry.
Voldemort's eyes narrowed into a glare. "I said for you to go," He said in a low voice. "Unless you would like to experience the Cruciatus Curse?"
Peter's eyes widened. "No. No, of course not." He said quickly. He looked at Harry. "I'm sorry," He whispered before flooing away.

Peter flooed back to McGonagall's office only to find it full of people. James, Sirius, Regulus, Lily, Remus, Dumbledore and McGonagall were all there.
"Where is Harry?" James yelled, grabbing Peter and slamming him against a wall.
"Mr. Potter, let him go," McGonagall ordered.
"James," Lily said softly, touching James arm. Her eyes were narrowed on Peter. "We need him alert so he can talk. After that you can do what you want to him."
Peter's eyes widened in fear.
"Mr. Pettigrew, where is Harry?" Dumbledore asked, his normally twinkling eyes serious.
"I -uh," Peter swallowed. "I thought I was helping," He said weakly.
"Helping?" Lily asked furiously. "Where is my son?"
"I took him to see the dark lord, I thought-"
"You took pup to Voldemort?" Sirius asked, horrified.
"I thought he would just talk to him and then let him come back. Then we wouldn't be a target anymore. The Slytherin death eaters, they kept threatening me. Evan Rosier said if I would just make it to where the dark lord could talk to Harry, I would be rewarded and we wouldn't be targets anymore!" Peter said weakly. He gave a cry when Sirius punched him right in the nose. "Ahh!"
"Really, Mr. Black," Dumbledore sighed.
"Where is Harry?" James clenched his fists. "Where exactly did you take him?"
Peter was too busy crying to answer. McGonagall rolled her eyes and healed his nose. "They're at the Lestrange Manor." Peter said hoarsely. "You need a password to gain access."
James pointed his wand right at Peter's heart. "What is it?" He growled.
"Pura Sanguine," Peter said shakily.
James grabbed the floo powder.
"Wait, let me get the Aurors and Order members -" Dumbledore started to say.
"I'm not waiting," James replied, throwing down the powder.
"Me either," Lily said, stepping into the floo with James. "Lestrange Manor Pura Sanguine!"

"So. How do you defeat me?" Voldemort asked, walking a circle around Harry.
Harry stared at him defiantly and kept quiet.
"Crucio!" Voldemort roared.
Harry cried out in pain, falling to the floor. Once the curse was lifted, he lifted his head up. "I'm not telling you anything," He panted.
"Oh?" Voldemort pointed his wand at him. "Legilimens!"
Harry couldn't remember how to push him out of his thoughts nor was he strong enough at this age to do so, and Voldemort was ruthless as he plunged into Harry's mind. So Harry did the only thing he could think of, like he did his fifth year. He thought about his friends. He thought about Sirius and Remus, the fun he had with them. Snape and Regulus laughing and being friends with everyone, and especially of his parents. How it felt when they hugged him, took care of him, taught him, comforted him...
Voldemort shuddered at the emotions and dropped his wand, the force of Harry's emotions making him wince. It was something he didn't understand, something he wasn't capable of understanding. The caring, the love...
"Master?" Bellatrix asked anxiously as Voldemort retrieved his wand, his hand shaking slightly.
Just then the floo flared and James and Lily sprinted out. Dumbledore, Sirius, Regulus, Remus and McGonagall quickly followed.
"Harry!" Lily cried, going to her son.
"Pronglet?" James knelt down next to his son and reached for him. Harry was unconscious but alive.
Sirius grabbed his brother and pushed him behind him. "I told you not to come!" He hissed.
"I care about Harry too!" Regulus protested.
"Ah, my disappointing cousin," Bellatrix focused her attention on Regulus. "I've been hoping to see you again."
"Back off," Sirius warned, his wand trained on her. He glanced over at James and Lily, who were still knelt down next to Harry. "Is pup okay?"
"He's been under the Cruciatus Curse," Lily said furiously. Her eyes widened when Nagini slithered into the room.
McGonagall saw the snake and quickly cast the killing curse at her, knowing she was one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.
"No!" Voldemort roared in anger. He turned to McGonagall, fury in his eyes and raised his wand. But before he could cast anything, Dumbledore stopped him.
"Master!" Bellatrix shouted as Dumbledore pointed his wand at Voldemort.
"Avada Kedavra!" Dumbledore shouted.
"No! Master!" Bellatrix screamed and began casting curses right and left, Rodolphus joining her. Sirius, Regulus and Remus began fighting her, deflecting their curses while McGonagall began dueling Rodolphus.
James raised his wand from where he stayed by Harry's side and pointed it at Bellatrix. "Expelliarmus!" He yelled.
"Stupefy!" Regulus cast at her after her wand flew out of her hand.
"Incarcerous!" Sirius shouted, grinning as thick vines wound around her wrists and ankles.
Lily noticed McGonagall still dueling Rodolphus and snapped out, "Flipendo!" She smirked as he was thrown several feet back.
"Incarcerous!" McGonagall cast, nodding in approval as he was finally bound.
James and Lily had stayed with Harry, making sure none of the curses hit him. Once the dueling was over, James went to pick up his son, who was still unconscious, when suddenly a bright light surrounded the three of them. James had to close his eyes against the brightness and when he opened them, it was just him and Lily.
"Harry?" Lily looked around in alarm. "James, where are we? Where's Harry? Where is everyone?"
"I don't know," James said tersely. It looked like they were outside on Hogwarts grounds but there was no one around. No movement anywhere. "Harry!" He called.
"Where is he?" Lily asked tearfully. "Harry!"
"Harry is fine," A voice said.
James and Lily spun around to see four people approach them. Two men and two women. "Who are you?" James asked.
One of the men stepped forward, dressed in red and gold robes. "I'm Godric Gryffindor." He gestured towards the others. "This is Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin."
"The Hogwarts founders," Lily breathed.
"Why are you here?" James asked.
"To speak with you about Harry. You see, when your son defeated Tom Riddle he was so broken. So lost. And he had been immensely brave and sacrificed so much." Godric said.
"He had such loyalty to his friends." Helga smiled.
"He was a smart boy, able to keep his head in difficult situations," Rowena added.
"He was cunning when he needed to be. Ambitious and determined too, even if he was a Gryffindor," Salazar muttered. "Although he destroyed my Basilisk." He muttered.
"Oh, Sal," Rowena sighed.
"So you must love Voldemort," James said sarcastically.
"He had the right idea, in my book. But he went too far," Salazar said. "He kills on a whim, even pure bloods. It's not right."
"None of what he did was right," Helga huffed.
Salazar just shrugged.
"As I was saying, Harry had lost everyone. He was practically crying out for help so we answered his call." Godric said with a smile. "He wanted you two. He wanted everyone to have another chance. So we gave it to him. We sent him to you."
"Why as a five year old?" Lily asked curiously.
"That's the age when he first did accidental magic." Godric answered. "He needed to be a child, to be loved and cared for. He needed to heal. And he helped others change their ways. Changed the path they were on. It's why we sent him to you when we did. A critical time for many, especially those who were considering joining Voldemort."
"Like Severus and Regulus," Lily murmured. "And Sirius won't be framed for murder and Remus won't be all alone."
"Your son has healed," Godric smiled. "And Tom Riddle has now been destroyed."
"So where is Harry?" James asked worriedly.
"Oh, you will see him again," Godric chuckled. "But Harry is in the wrong time. Now he can be born when he is supposed to be, without the burden of the prophecy."
"You mean we have to wait for him to be born?" Lily asked, tears in her eyes. That was two years away!
"This way he can still go to school with the friends he had, the friends he lost," Rowena said gently. "And you will have him from the time he is a newborn. Isn't that worth waiting a couple of years for?"
James glanced at Lily and squeezed her hand. "Will he remember anything?"
"A little, perhaps." Godric said thoughtfully. "When he turns five, he may have some memories return but they will be hazy. He won't remember how to do magic so all of that will be new. He will just have vague memories of some things." He smiled. "Do not worry. The time will fly by and you will be with your son again."
Lily began crying and James put his arms around her. "It's okay. We'll have our boy again," He whispered in her ear, tears in his own eyes. "We just have to be a little patient."
The bright light returned and when it dimmed, they back at the Lestrange Manor which was now filled with Aurors.
"Where did you go?" Remus asked in surprise.
"Where is pup?" Sirius asked.
James exchanged a look with Lily. "We have a lot to tell you."
"But -"
"I trust everything is as it should be now," Dumbledore said, eyes twinkling. "I sense you have an interesting story for us. Why don't we go to my office and have some tea while you tell us about it?"
"But where is Harry?" Sirius asked, looking confused.
July 31st, 1980 – St. Mungo's
"Okay, Lily. Deep breaths," James encouraged.
"You take deep breaths!" Lily gritted her teeth at him. "I need to push." She pleaded with the healer.
"Go on. Push hard," Healer Jones replied. "You're doing great, keep pushing!"
Soon a newborn cry filled the air as Healer Jones lifted the baby up. "He's here! And he has quite a set of lungs on him," She chuckled as she cleaned him off and wrapped him in a soft blue blanket.
"James, he's here," Lily said with tears in her eyes.
James stared at his crying son and held his arms out for his boy. The crying quieted down to little whimpers as James cradled him. "Hello Harry," He whispered. Harry opened his eyes and gazed at his father. "We've missed you," James said, tears of happiness rolling down his cheeks. He handed Harry to Lily.
"Oh James, isn't he beautiful?" Lily gushed, looking at him with eyes filled with love. "Oh, baby. We missed you so much." She said softly, stroking his soft cheek with one finger.
"Worth waiting for?" James teased, wiping a tear from her cheek.
"Definitely," Lily laughed, looking lovingly at their son.
July 31st, 1985 - Godric's Hollow
Harry woke up with a start. His dreams had been so real...wait, it had been real, right? Hogwarts...Voldemort... He ran downstairs.
Lily looked up from the stove in surprise. "You're up earlier than usual," She said, charming the spoon to keep stirring. "Happy birthday, love. I'm making chocolate chip pancakes!"
"Mummy?" Harry whispered.
Lily frowned and walked over to him. "Are you okay?" She put her hand on his forehead. "Are you feeling all right?"
"I -" Harry hesitated. "Was I older? And you and dad were still in school..." He trailed off. It was like trying to remember a dream.
"Ah, I see," Lily smiled softly and she hugged him. "It's okay, Harry. Everything is okay."
"So what I dreamed was real? I was older?" Harry asked, scrunching up his little face as he tried to remember.
"He remembers?" James walked into the kitchen. He ruffled Harry's hair. "Happy birthday, Pronglet."
"We were told he may remember some things," Lily reminded James. She turned back to Harry. "You were older in a different reality," She said gently. "And then you were sent to us in our time, when we were seventh years. Towards the end of the school year, you just disappeared on us. We were told that it meant things had been fixed and we would still have you only in the right time, so you would still go to school with your friends."
"Waiting for you to be born was torture. We missed you so much," James said softly, pulling Harry into a hug.
"Things are hazy but I remember some things," Harry said, leaning into his father's embrace. "Like being at Hogwarts and having lessons with Bill and Charlie."
"Do you remember how to do spells?"
Harry frowned. Um... "No."
"Good, then Hogwarts won't be boring for you." Lily chuckled.
"I do remember the secret passageways and watching you play Quidditch and swimming in the lake," Harry brightened. His face fell. "And...Voldemort." He whispered with a shudder.
"Voldemort is dead, love. He has been for years." Lily said gently.
"And now you can just be our little boy, no prophecy to worry about." James added. He glanced at Lily and saw the sad smile on her face. What they weren't telling Harry was that like in his own reality, he was famous. Not to the level he was when he was the boy-who-lived but it was known throughout the wizarding world that he had traveled back in time and faced Voldemort as a child. Dumbledore was known as a hero for killing the monster but along with Sirius, Remus and Regulus, they were also known for facing Voldemort, Bellatrix and Rodolphus. But they would tell Harry that when he was older.
Harry smiled. No Voldemort, no prophecy! And he still got to go to school with his friends. In fact, he was already friends with Ron and Neville. "And everyone else?" He asked anxiously.
"You don't remember?"
Harry thought for a moment and then smiled. Yes, he still had Sirius and Remus in his life. Snape and Regulus were also honorary uncles. Bill and Charlie were like big brothers. "Yeah, I remember," He said in relief. Sirius and Regulus were Aurors, Remus owned a bookstore and Snape owned his own apothecary. So everything was indeed different. Sirius wasn't in Azkaban, Regulus was alive, Remus wasn't all alone and Snape never became a death eater. And best of all? Harry had his parents to raise him.
"Ma-ma!"
Harry slowly grinned. He also had his baby sister who was a year old.
Lily laughed. "Primrose must want to say happy birthday too." she said as she left the room to get her daughter.
James knelt down to Harry. "Are you okay? With having the memories of before?" He asked in concern.
"Yeah. They're kind of blurry anyway," Harry shrugged.
"Blurry huh?" James grinned and kissed the top of his head.
Lily re-entered with a red-headed baby with hazel eyes in her arms.
"Da-da! Harr!"
Harry laughed. Primrose was still learning to say his name right. "Good morning, Prim." He said, kissing his sister's forehead after Lily put her in her high chair.
"It's Harry's birthday," Lily told Primrose.
"Burbay," Primrose clapped her hands excitedly.
"Close enough," James chuckled as he sat down next to her.
Harry stroked one finger down Primrose's cheek and she giggled. He sat down and eagerly looked at the plate piled high with his favorite pancakes. "What time is my party?"
"At one." Lily answered as she fixed a plate for Primrose.
"Not till then?" Harry sighed.
"Perhaps we can do some flying until then," James said. He snapped his fingers and a Starduster broom flew into the room. "Remember this?"
Harry's eyes widened. "My broom!" He said excitedly, starting to stand up.
"Not until after breakfast," Lily told him, an amused look in her eyes.
Harry plopped back in his chair, his eyes on his broom which was leaning against the counter. "My broom," He said blissfully. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
James laughed. "You're welcome, Pronglet. Now eat up so you and I can do some flying."
Harry grinned and took a big bite of pancake. This was what he had always wanted. His own family. Another chance for everyone. To have this, this moment...it was worth everything he had gone through. He was surrounded by people who loved and cared about him and now his future looked bright. He had been given another chance and he would never take it for granted.
The End.
