Coco: Hey, guys, I'm back again with another Ayonic Chapter! I hope you're ready for it as it's part A of the newest OVA from BnHA. I have changed things up as I usually do and I expect Part B to be very different due to these new elements I've added in, but I still hope you will enjoy it when it comes out. Which should be late tomorrow, maybe, but I'm making no promises. Depends on how much I end up changing it XD

Anyway, I know a few of you are curious about dear Doctorine's whereabouts, so in this chapter-at the very beginning actually-your questions will be answered.

Now, that all that's out of the way, it's time to start this chapter. I'm sure you're ready for it, so let's go! XD

DURING THE PROVISIONAL LISCENING EXAM TRAINING AT AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION

"Beautiful, just beautiful." Dr. Kyūdai said as he looked at the Nomu he was working on. "Their growth rate has greatly increased, and it's all thanks to you, Dr. Tsugu."

He turned to said woman as Dr. Tsugu Naosu—or as she's better known as the Surgical Hero: Doctorine—was laid out on an exam table. She was panting in exhaustion and twitching in pain as she was forced to stare up at the blinding light above her head. She was stripped naked with only the restraints around her being her only form of covering. Blood covered her body as it was split wide open from her chest down to her naval. Many of her organs were missing and some were reforming in her body. Definitely a sight from a horror movie.

"Your quirk is truly magnificent." Dr. Kyūdai continued to praise. "Graft allows you to heal even the most terrible of injuries, and due to its nature of taking your own body to repair and fix what others have lost, you can survive even cut open like this. You can even regenerate what you have lost yourself. Of course, I know you have your limits, but you found a way through experimenting on your own body that if you take other people's flesh and organs, you heal much quicker. It doesn't even matter if the organs or tissue or etc. is damaged or disease ridden as your quirk heals it even if it does take time. Even the flesh of the dead can be revived within your body!"

Doctorine frowned wondering how this man knew that. Though supposed it was possible. Doctorine had wrote a thesis paper of her own unique physiology as her final paper to graduate with her PhD in medical sciences.

"Ah," Dr. Kyūdai hummed when seeing her look. "Yes, I am guilty of reading your published thesis from your time in college a few years back. It was quite fascinating and something I've wanted to study up close for some time. So, as I'm sure you can imagine, I was overjoyed to have the Master bring you to me. I've finally been able to prove a few theories of my own when regarding your quirk."

"Your…own…theories?" Doctorine managed to croak out.

It was difficult as all her screaming from earlier had made her throat rather hoarse. While her quirk did do many amazing things, it did not take away her sense of pain. Or the pain felt by those she used it on.

"Yes," Dr. Kyūdai said with a nod. "You see, I already knew that when you replace…let's say a person's broken finger that once the grafting it complete, the bone is not just practically, but actually is as good as new. No, better than new! As that piece of yourself that you just gave up is still embedded with pieces of your DNA. Meaning at least for a bit, that bone within your patient's body carries your quirk. I theorized that if the person broke that same finger again in a short amount of time that it'd heal on its own. And with my Nomu, I proved that your quirk remains even after it detaches from your body though only temporarily."

Dr. Kyūdai then flipped Doctorine's table up just enough for her to see the large liquid filled tubes that held some of his Nomu. Though these were a bit different. Besides, a few changes here and there, they all looked mostly human.

"You see, I have made several Nomu over the years." Dr. Kyūdai said. "And they take a long time to create as taking corpses and modifying them to hold multiple quirks is a long process. The revival isn't even the hard part. Though the ones you have mostly dealt with are just run of the mill Nomu. But these are much different. I only managed to make one other like these before I got my hands on you. A Nomu capable of speech and passing off as human as its brain is still functioning normally. In fact, the second one to be made like the original is with Shigaraki Tomura and his League of Villains. He was once Ishida Ko or as many knew him as Jailer the Pro-Hero. Now, he's a Nomu who will protect and look after Shigaraki Tomura and Sebone Rina at All for One's order."

Doctorine's eyes widened at this news, and she was sure that if her stomach was intact that it'd be feeling sick. He used her quirk to help him defile the body of her former classmate—of a friend.

"Nomu like that just can't be made overnight," Dr. Kyūdai explained. "At least not until I was able to take your genetic material—your quirk—and add it to the process. Just a bit of your blood and some organs, and they grow at a much faster rate than before. This means I can mass produce them now. So, again, thank you very much, Dr. Tsugu."

Dr. Kyūdai then flipped the table back down, so Doctorine was back to staring at the painfully bright light. But she didn't even care about that now. As Dr. Kyūdai went about his business, Doctorine felt her mind race.

'I have to get out of here.' She thought. 'I have to get out to warn everyone. Not only are my kids (she means the students of U.A.) in danger, but so is everyone else…They have no idea what's coming…'

BACK AT U.A. A FEW DAYS LATER

More days passed and after using those days to better their quirks and costumes, Aizawa decided it was time for a different kind of training to prepare them for the licensing exam. This training split the class into two teams of twelve for a special rescue exercise set up by Aizawa and the other teachers. Ayano and her follow classmates didn't have a lot of rescue training underneath their belts as every time they've tried to do rescue training something has interrupted the lesson.

The villain attack on the U.S.J, the second attack on the U.S.J courtesy of All Might who was trying to teach them a lesson, and she doesn't think they've really done anymore rescue training than that. So, she was interested to see how this training would go for their team of twelve.

It consisted of herself, Tenya, Momo, Katsuki, Izuku, Ochaco, Fumikage, Shoto, Tsuyu, Denki, Eijiro, and Konan. A versatile team that Ayano knew could do some good together. As long as everyone worked together. She looked over at Katsuki while thinking this as he was standing off to the side looking annoyed already and they haven't even got started.

"Alright!" Tenya called out to his gathered classmates. "As your Class Representative, I've been designated as the leader of Team A. It should be our goal to complete this rescue mission swiftly, so we don't bring shame to our school. We need each of you to bring your absolute best to this training. I will accept no less—!"

"Yeah, yeah," Denki interrupted. "When is he going to stop monologuing so much?"

"Come on," Eijiro urged. "Let's just get on with it."

He was eager to get to work and get this trapped citizen or whatever back to the surface. He wanted to try and beat Team B.

"I understand how eager everyone is to start, but it's important for us to carefully analyze the situation at hand." Momo told her classmates as she went to stand beside Tenya. "Then we can plan more effectively."

"While we do need to be swift, we shouldn't rush things," Ayano agreed. "That could put those in need of rescuing in even more danger if we go in unprepared and uninformed of the situation."

"You see?" Tenya asked the others. "Yaoyorozu and Ishida understand!"

Momo then pulled out a small disk from one of her many pouches on her belt. When she hit the button in the center, a holographic image of the mostly destroyed mall's layout appeared.

"Two hours ago, a fire broke out on the bottom floor of a large underground shopping mall." Momo explained. "Fortunately, the blaze was extinguished, and almost everyone present was evacuated. However, we've received word that somewhere inside of this building there's still one stranded person who needs our assistance."

"Our mission is to rescue that citizen as quickly and as safely as possible," Tenya added. "For our purposes the 'citizen' will be a training dummy."

Which was good as Ayano would hate for an actual person to be down there waiting on them for rescue. Even if only a training situation, she wouldn't want to be trapped underground. Especially since their teachers always seemed to take things a bit too far.

"Damage from the fire has taken out the underground powerlines," Momo said. "But luckily a backup generator is working."

"That's good," Ochaco said as she leaned forward to look at the hologram more closely. "Things will be a lot easier if the lights stay on."

Konan couldn't agree more. Trying to find someone in the labyrinth below their feet would be tough enough. In the dark it'd be almost impossible. She just hoped the generator had enough power to last for the entire search.

"This boils down to a race against the clock," Fumikage spoke up. "I propose we split into teams."

A wise choice considering the situation. They had no idea what kind of condition the citizen in need of rescuing was in. They also had no idea if they were trapped somewhere stable either. If not, the entire area could collapse on them before the aspiring heroes even reached them. Splitting into teams would allow them to locate the citizen much faster.

"Hey, this is weird," Izuku said as he looked up from his phone. "I'm not getting any kind of phone signal out here."

His words had the others checking their phones and as Ayano looked at hers she saw Izuku was right. There was no signal whatsoever.

"Me neither," Denki reported.

"This thing might as well be dead," Eijiro said.

"I'm guessing it's no coincidence that our most common form of communication is out for this exercise." Izuku guessed.

The group then turned towards Ayano and she nodded in understanding. A few seconds later they felt a familiar buzz in their minds. Meaning they were linked together.

"Even with Ishida keeping us connected, I think it best we have a rendezvous point." Shoto suggested. "As well as a time to meet up there."

"Agreed." Konan said. "If anything were to cause Ishida to break the connection, it's best to have a backup plan, so we know how to proceed next."

Though none of them felt as if they'd have to worry about that. Ayano was pretty good at maintaining her mental links.

"This mall has six underground floors." Tsuyu said as she studied the hologram. "What if we go down the central stairwell and search the first level—B 1—in teams. We can meet back up at the stairs ten minutes later. Then continue to sweep each floor until we find the person who needs to be rescued."

"Yes," Ochaco agreed. "That's a great idea, Tsu."

"I agree." Izuku seconded.

The group then turned towards Katsuki as he started heading towards the entrance that would take them down into the mall.

"Hey, where are you going, Kacchan?" Izuku asked.

"Where do you think?" Katsuki asked then glanced over his shoulder. "I'm going to track down the stupid citizen who didn't escape in time."

Ayano sighed though wasn't surprised. Of course, Katsuki would just want to head in without them finishing their planning. She's surprised he lasted as long as he did.

"Wait a minute, Bakugo," Tenya called though Katsuki just continued forward. "Going off on your own ruins our cooperative efforts. We should do as Asui proposes."

"I told you to call me Tsu." Tsuyu reminded their Class Rep.

Tenya, who flinched at Tsuyu being suddenly right beside him, cleared his throat.

"Yes, as Tsu suggests." Tenya corrected himself.

"You idiots are the ones saying this search is a race against time," Katsuki reminded them as he turned to give them a glare. "I'll find this dummy while you're still trying to figure out what to do. That's the real difference between you and me."

He then continued forward again as Ayano felt a headache starting to form. Izuku called out for Katsuki to wait, but that only managed to make Katsuki march forward even faster.

"Yeah, wait up, Man." Eijiro said as he followed after Katsuki. "It's dangerous to go alone. I'll join you."

"Yeah, guess we better go with him." Denki decided.

Izuku went to tell them all to stop, but paused when Ayano placed her hand on his shoulder.

"You three better be careful in there," She told them. "If anything happens, the mental link is open. Just call out to me. We'll be there to assist if needed."

"Tch, like I need any help from any of you," Katsuki scoffed.

"Don't worry." Eijiro said reassuringly. "We'll meet you guys at the stairs in ten."

"We'll make sure Bakugo's with us." Denki added. "…Probably…"

Konan shook her head as she and the others watched the three boys disappear into the mall.

"I might kill him later, I swear," Ayano grumbled.

Tsuyu gave the girl a sympathetic pat on the back as Ayano was pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Wow, Bakugo never changes, does he?" Ochaco commented.

"So self-centered." Fumikage complained.

Ayano just hung her head at their comments, but it wasn't like she could completely disagree. Tenya soon called their planning back to order, so they could decide on the teams. The teams went as such: Izuku, Ochaco, and Tsuyu were one team. Momo, Konan, and Tenya made another. Finally, Ayano was placed on a team with Shoto and Fumikage. Once the teams were decided, the teens entered the mall in hopes of finding the trapped citizen swiftly and safely.

Ayano walked slightly in front of her two teammates as she kept her eyes peeled for their missing citizen. They were in a part of the mall where the emergency power didn't seem to be working. This left Shoto as their light source as he used his fire to illuminate the area.

"Tokoyami, will this be bright enough for you?" Shoto questioned the shorter boy.

"I'm controlling Dark Shadow comfortably." Fumikage replied.

They did have to be wary that the little shadow monster might go berserk if it gets too dark. Which was another reason Shoto was using his flames.

"It's kind of a bummer that I can't use my telepathy to search for the citizen," Ayano commented. "As they're not an actual person, I can't pick up on any brain waves. It would save so much time. Not to mention make things safer for us. The less time we spend in this building the better."

But things couldn't be helped. They couldn't use an actual citizen for this training as it'd be too dangerous for the citizen. So, even if it does make things a bit harder on them, it was best they were using a dummy for the exercise. But still…

"Is something bothering you about this, Ishida?" Fumikage asked.

Ayano sighed. She had thought she was controlling her expression well, so to prevent the boys from seeing the worry she was feeling. But apparently not.

"It's just we don't know what condition the building is in." Ayano said as she glanced back at the two boys. "Not really. The fire that happened here was supposed to be major. There's no telling what kind of damage it might have caused to the structure before it was put out."

Both boys exchanged a glance. They honestly didn't even think about that before. But Ayano was right. The foundation of the building could be compromised since the fire did happen on the bottom floor.

"All the more reason to try and quickly locate the dummy civilian." Shoto said. "I'm sure with all of us spread out and looking we'll successfully do that soon."

Ayano hoped so. She'd rather not have to try and get themselves out safely while also having to worry about a trapped civilian. Dummy or not. The three teens then stiffened as they felt the floor underneath them begin to shake.

"Is that an earthquake?" Shoto asked.

"No, I think what I mentioned earlier is true." Ayano said as she tried to keep her balance. The building's structure is unstable due to the earlier fire."

The teens then gasped as the ceiling above came crumbling down. Fumikage was in the direct line of the falling debris, and before Ayano even had to react, Shoto created an ice sheet to stop the debris was falling on him. Ayano then moved him quickly out of the way to where Shoto stood safely. Though their moment of relief was short lived as the area next to Ayano had a collapse of its own. Her eyes widened as she quickly raised her hand to use her telekinesis and a thick psionic wall to stop the debris. She grunted at the strain as the heavy debris kept falling.

"Move!" She shouted at Fumikage and Shoto. "I'll keep the debris back. Move onto the next section. Otherwise we'll be stuck here!"

The boys quickly did as they were told as Ayano felt herself be scooted back by the persistent rubble. It was like it wanted to bury the teens. Once they were through, Ayano let out a sigh of relief. Now, she just had to worry about herself. She slowly sidestepped her way towards where the boys were as she kept the debris in place. When she finally made it to safety, she let the debris go and it came crashing the ground causing another small shake.

"Are you alright?" Fumikage asked.

"Yeah," Ayano said with a nod. "I'm just glad we weren't trapped."

Shoto nodded in agreement before looking around. The area they were in looked pretty damaged, but considering the shaking that just happened, it was understandable. Fumikage looked to Shoto.

"Thank you for earlier." Fumikage said. "If you hadn't created a sheet of ice over my head, I would be buried underneath debris right now."

"That's what friends are for, right?" Shoto replied. "Don't worry about it."

Fumikage nodded then looked to Ayano as she was taking in the area around them.

"And thank you as well, Ishida," Fumikage said. "For ensuring we were not trapped."

"It was nothing." Ayano said with a small shrug. "Anyway, we should be careful moving forward. With the building's structure being unstable there's no telling when the shaking might start back up, and next time it could be worse."

"It's going to be hard to escape without light," Shoto pointed out.

Ayano frowned because she knew he was right. Especially since they had no idea where it'd be safe to step without the floor giving way or something similar.

"Yes, and obviously, Dark Shadow is difficult to handle in these conditions." Fumikage said. "I might lose all control."

"Which would cause more of the building to collapse." Shoto finished. "Got it."

That meant Dark Shadow was basically out of the question. Meaning they've lost a big part of their team as Dark Shadow would be perfect for moving debris and helping on the fly in case of another collapse.

"I could use my quirk if you made continuous flames." Fumikage suggested to Shoto. "That would weaken me."

"I'd rather not." Shoto said. "If I start a fire and there's no air flow from outside, it could use up all of our oxygen. We could get carbon monoxide poisoning. Unless it's absolutely necessary we should avoid fires at all costs."

Which means they were down to Shoto's ice and Ayano's quirk in getting them out of here. Made things seem a little impossible.

"There's no way we can continue the training exercise now." Fumikage said. "The teachers will come. If we remain calm, we should be fine."

"I don't think that will be the case," Ayano said.

Both boys turned towards Ayano who had been completely silent during their conversation.

"Knowing Aizawa-sensei this is all part of our training," Ayano said. "We are going for our provisional hero licenses. He made sure to tell us repeatedly that it wasn't something to be taken lightly. We might be first years, but this is when things are becoming more real. Closer to actual hero work. This training is most likely a real taste of what we should expect from now on. So, we need to take this seriously and think of our next move."

"That being checking in on our classmates," Shoto guessed what she was thinking. "We might not have been hurt, but with all that happened they could be injured."

Ayano hummed in agreement as that's exactly what she had been thinking. There were twelve of them down here in total. Thirteen if you count the lost citizen. Any of the others could have been hurt during all that shaking.

"Agreed," Fumikage said. "Their safety should be our new priority."

Ayano nodded then placed her hand against her temple to concentrate on the link she had created earlier with her classmates.

'Everyone, are you alright?' Ayano called out.

'Ishida!' Momo's slightly troubled voice replied to her. 'Iida is injured with a wounded leg and is unconscious. Also, during the shaking Kurafutoshi was separated from us. I tried calling out to her, but she hasn't responded. Midoriya and his team are helping Iida and I now, but they haven't seen Kurafutoshi either after they fell through the floor. I think she might be somewhere even lower than us as I saw the floor give way before I lost sight of her.'

That wasn't good. It meant one of their classmates was on her own and possibly injured.

'I'm fine,' Konan called out through the link. 'I have a few minor injuries, but nothing too horrible.'

Ayano felt a sigh of relief leave her and she wasn't the only one as many sighs joined her through the link.

'Kurafutoshi, I'm so glad you're okay!' Momo called to her. 'I'm so sorry we were separated.'

'There's no need to apologize,' Konan assured Momo. 'Things did just change rather suddenly.'

That was for sure. Things definitely took a turn that none of them had been expecting.

'Kacchan, Kirishima, Kaminari, are you guys okay?' Izuku asked.

'Shut it, ya damn nerd!' Was Katsuki's irate reply. 'I don't need your damn voice in my head!'

At his angry mental shout, Ayano could practically see Izuku flinching away from Katsuki even if the blonde wasn't physically next to him.

'Katsuki, there's no need to be yelling at Izuku.' Ayano told him sternly. 'He's just worried about you and everyone else.'

Katsuki scoffed through the link as Ayano tried to fight off the headache she felt forming in the back of her head.

'Whatever,' Katsuki grumbled. 'You losers sit around and whine about what happened. I'm taking Sparkplug to the bottom floor to the emergency power supply room. We'll get the power back on. After that all those weaklings who can't continue should get the hell out. We'll be finding that stupid citizen who didn't make it out in time.'

Many of the others were surprised by Katsuki's words, but Ayano and Izuku expected as much from the ash-blonde. Things were looking bleak and had the chance of getting out much worse, but he still wanted to continue the lesson.

'We should be worried about getting ourselves out of here, Bakugo.' Shoto said. 'Continuing the training in these conditions is too dangerous for us. We should all work on escaping.'

'Do that if you want, Icy-Hot, but I'm not leaving until we find that idiot citizen.' Katsuki retorted. 'All Might would keep trying to save the citizen, and if the number one hero wouldn't give up, I'm not going to either.'

'Besides, any Pro wouldn't leave a citizen in danger.' Eijiro added. 'No, they'd save them no matter the danger.'

'It's like I said before,' Ayano said. 'We're starting the next level stuff. We have to take this seriously and plan our next moves carefully, remember? That includes the steps we have to take to save the trapped citizen. Leaving them behind isn't an option. We're planning to be heroes after all.'

From beside her Shoto sighed, but it wasn't like he could disagree with what they were saying.

'Okay, fine, what are our next steps?' Shoto relented.

Ayano smiled while glad that Shoto was on board even if he didn't seem too thrilled about it.

'There are multiple things that need to be done, and with all our different quirks, I know we can get it done.' Ayano replied. 'Katsuki and his group are already working on getting the power back on, so we'll trust them to that. We should probably also see if we can get a few more of us to the bottom floor to help search for the dummy civilian as we had all deduced that they were most likely on the bottom floor anyway.'

The faster they find the citizen the faster they get up to the surface where it'll be safe for all of them.

'I can go and assist them.' Konan cut in. 'I fell through a few floors during the shaking from earlier. Also, with my quirk and the new technique I developed, I should be able to search the floor quickly and efficiently. And with us all connected, I can alert Bakugo's group to my location if I need assistance in moving the citizen. No one else should have to bother themselves with coming down here. The less there is of us in the most unstable part of the mall the better. Especially with one of us unconscious. In fact, I believe Midoriya's group should head for the surface now with Iida. From where they are, they can work on making a path up to the surface, which will make things easier for us who stay behind.'

It was a good suggestion. It would help them in the end if there was a path waiting for them to take the citizen out.

'We were planning to head for the nearest elevator shaft, so to float Iida out.' Izuku told everyone. 'From the top of there, Yaoyorozu should be able to create a ladder of sorts, so everyone can climb out.'

'Yes, I can do that,' Momo said. 'Then we should all plan to head for the elevators on the first floor when the rescue is complete.'

There were murmurs of agreement from many of the group. Katsuki just grunted, but at least it was something.

'If your group is clearing a path to the elevator and Katsuki's group is restoring power with Konan assisting them in looking for the civilian afterwards, our group will clear a path between the bottom and first floors,' Ayano said. 'We'll also try to reinforce as much as we can to hopefully stop too much from trying to collapse. But until the power comes back on, Tokoyami-kun cannot use his quirk, so please be quick, Katsuki, Kirishima-kun, Kaminari-kun.'

'You got it!' Eijiro and Denki replied with smiles in their voices.

The job Ayano was assigning herself, Shoto, and Fumikage definitely wasn't an easy one. One wrong move and it could be just more than them who gets trapped and/or injured. However, she believed with their quirks they could pull it off as long as they're careful. Besides, she's worked with both Fumikage and Shoto before, so she knew she could trust them and work together with them just fine.

'Don't screw it up, Aya,' Katsuki told her. 'You cause me anymore trouble, and I'll freaking explode you into next week. You, Icy-Hot, and Bird Boy.'

Ayano rolled her eyes as Fumikage and Shoto exchanged glances from behind her.

'Let's just get to work, everyone.' Ayano said. 'We'll go Plus Ultra and show this training and Aizawa-sensei that we won't be bested.'

'Yeah!' Shouts of agreement were given.

Ayano then turned back to Shoto and Fumikage while exchanging nods with them. They knew what they had to do. While everyone was doing their best to do their part, they would do. This was the beginning step into becoming true heroes. And another step into being the heroes they want to become.

Coco: And that is the end of Part A of the OVA. I hope you liked it. I know I liked writing it. It was fun, and I can't wait to get started on Part B. And once the OVA is done, it'll be time for the licensing exam and with the exception of like three or four episodes, that'll be the end of Season 3. And we'll be moving onto my favorite season yet which is 4...Though it is also the season that ripped out my heart and made me cry...but I'll worry about all that when it comes time to re-watch those heartbreaking episodes, so I can write the chapters!

But, anyway, again I hope you liked the chapter, and I can't wait to bring you another one soon. Until then, everyone~
