YU-GI-OH! GX: HEROES OF DUEL ACADEMY : Season 1
New Legends of Duel Academy
This is a rewritten story of Yu-GI-Oh GX but with OCs of my own and two OCs from Magic Mana's Story. Mostly aligned with the story but I have my own twist.
I also heard about master rule five so we can special summon Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz as much as we want now without link monsters.
Inspired by Tales of Academia by Magic Mana and dragonicdevil's Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Season 1,2, and 3 support them or be exterminated!
I do not own any of the Yu-Gi-Oh characters or Magic Mana's Characters except my own.
Chapter 1- Entrance Exam
In Domino City, three teens are running down the street in panic.
"Come on guys!" a boy who had hair of two different shades of brown.
"Slow down Jaden! We're running as fast as we can!" a boy with dirty blonde hair with the same style as Joey Wheeler.
"Hunter, Jaden is right we got to hurry or his father would have to break his promise about you know what!" a girl with brown hair and blue-green eyes and the same hairstyle as Mana the Dark Magician Girl.
"Mana you always agree with him ya jerk!" Hunter said as they ran.
"I should agree with Jaden but you guys did oversleep with that sleepover." A transparent woman with demonic wings, one orange eye and one teal eye and with white and blue hair said.
"Yes, but they were having so much fun!" The Dark Magician girl said as she appeared as a spirit.
"Grr… you two always agree with Mana and Jaden ya jerks!" Hunter said.
Meanwhile in the crowd.
A certain spirit was walking by…
"Excuse us! Pardon me! Out of my way!" Jaden/Mana/Hunter said as they ran through the crowd they bump into someone.
CRASH!
Which causes the three to drop their duel disks and cards.
"Whoops, sorry. We're kind of in a hurry! We're sorry but we didn't see you." Jaden/Hunter/Mana said.
As the three picked up the last of their cards.
"You three are duelists, aren't you?" the man with tri-colored hair asked in a deep voice.
"Yep!" Mana said with a smile.
"Actually we're going to an entrance exam for Duel Academy," Hunter said.
"Yup, on our way to Duel Academy or rather to the entrance exams," Jaden said
"Is that right?" the man said as he slowly took out a card for Jaden.
"Yeah, we…B-But you're…" Jaden said in shock.
"Huh?! But how?! WE JUST SAW YOU! Unless …" Hunter asked.
"Dad? No, you're him…" Mana said in awe.
"THE PHARAOH ATEM?!" the three teens yelled.
The Pharaoh held up a card to Jaden. "Here, Jaden Kaiba, I got a feeling this card belongs with you." Pharaoh said.
Jaden smiled and took the card.
"Wow really, thanks," Jaden said
Suddenly the monster he held which was Winged Kuriboh made squeaking sounds and appeared and landed on Jaden's shoulder.
"Cool, you got a kuriboh from the Pharaoh no less," Hunter said
"He is so cute!" Mana said as she was petting the Kuriboh.
"So, you three can see spirits huh? Well, this makes things easier then. Winged Kuriboh said he wanted to join you. He seems to like your dueling spirit." Pharaoh said.
"You three are just like your parents. Jaden you have the strength of Kaiba but the kindness of Serenity. Hunter, you have the tenacity of your father and Mana you seem to be a physical reincarnation of Mana but have your mother's bubbly personality." Pharaoh said with a heartfelt smile as if he actually saw Joey, Mai, Serenity, Kaiba, Yugi, and Tea.
Then a watch beeps…
Beep! Beep!
"Oh no! The exams! Sorry Atem, we got to run!" Hunter said as he restarted running.
"Sorry, Atem but when I get home I'll say "hi" for you when I see my parents!" Mana said as she ran.
"Got to run, goodbye and it was an honor to meet you Atem," Jaden said as he put Winged Kuriboh into his deck box.
Then Atem/Pharaoh gave the three a thumbs up before walking away.
[Later at an intersection]
"I can't believe we met the Pharaoh!" Jaden said with excitement.
"How do you think Manas is taking it?" Hunter said
"But I wonder, isn't he supposed to be in the afterlife?" Mana asked as she ran to the crosswalk while red.
"MANA! LOOK OUT!" Jaden and Hunter yelled.
"Huh?!" Mana looked to her right and saw a truck coming at her within 20 feet of her.
"Oh, no someone help me." Mana thought as she was scared.
Just then…
A motorcycle came out of nowhere and the guy who grabbed her before the truck hits her.
WHOOSH!
"You have to be more careful." A boy with silver hair and green highlights said on his green one-wheel motorcycle. (Imagine Jack Atlas' duel runner from Arc-V but the color is that of Borreload Dragon.)
"Thank you!" Mana said as she blushed.
"ZARC! Brother of my where are you?!" a girl yelled.
"CAN IT! RAY I JUST SAVED A GIRL FROM BEING RUNDOWN BY A TRUCK!" Zarc yelled comically.
"Well, stop flirting or we'll miss the exams!" Ray yelled at a girl with dark red hair on a large one wheel motorcycle ( Bruno/Antiony's duel runner from 5Ds)
"Exams? You're going to Duel Academy too? That's where we're going!" Jaden said
"LET US RIDE WITH YOU!" Hunter yelled.
"Hmm… Sure, why not? Get on!" Zarc said.
As Mana was still on Zarc's bike. Jaden and Hunter rode on Ray's bike.
[A LITTLE LATER AT THE KAIBA DOME]
"Well, it's time to close up shop. How about a burger at Burger World?" a woman at the table asked.
But before her friend could answer.
"Hey, you hear something?" a guy asked.
VRRRMMMM!
SCCRRREECCCHHHHH!
"WAIT, SORRY THAT WE'RE LATE!" Jaden/Mana/Hunter/Ray/Zarc yelled out.
"Okay, names…" the guy said as the two women were too shocked about this…
Later after giving them their names except for Mana and Jaden who both went by Mana Gardner and Jaden Yuki they enter the Kaiba Dome.
[Meanwhile in the Kaiba Dome]
"Once again, those who have passed their duel entrance exams go to registration. And to those who had fail good luck next year." An announcer said
"And better luck in Duel Community College." Crowler thought.
"Oiy!I know what you're thinking Crowler and they may be better duelists than you!" a man with black and white hair.
"Well, Mr. Ryder, they're going to be slackers either way," Crowler said
"Yeah? Well, even the lowest can rise up to the top." Hiro said.
"Mr. Crowler we have five late examiners…" a guy in a black suit said.
"What did you call me? Mister?" Crowler said
"Okay, Miss." The guy said
"I have a PhD in Dueling…Blah Blah Blah…" Crowler said but words were toned out by Hiro Ryder.
"Well, it says here one of them is Hunter Wheeler and two of them are friends. And the other two help them." Hiro said.
Then when Crowler heard the name Wheeler he backtrack.
"Oh! Hunter Wheeler! Yes, put him in a duel immediately!" Crowler said.
"What about the others?" Hiro asked.
"Oh, well I'll just duel one of them and I choose this Jaden Yuki. He seems like a slacker..." Crowler said.
"If I remember correctly Jaden is Seto Kaiba's son I met a few years back at a party. Good kid and a good student of my heroes." Hiro thought.
[Meanwhile at the stands.]
They saw a wicked match between a boy named Bastion Misawa and a duel examiner.
Examiner 1900 LP

"Okay, you got an enemy with high defense, what will you do?" the examiner said.
"I use a trap and that trap is Ring of Destruction! And I use it on Vorse Raider! Now both of us will take damage equal to the monster's attack points." Bastion said

Meanwhile in the stands.
A light blue-haired boy was watching the duel and jumped when he heard Jaden laughed.
"That looks like a sweet duel," Jaden said
"Well, we could have seen more but we overslept," Hunter said.
"Eh, we can still duel," Mana said.
"Well, he got the highest score on the written exams." The light blue-haired boy said.
"Wow, he must be smart because I pass with flying colors." (Cause I made the test cue evil laugh.) Jaden said and then thought.
"Really that test was murder, brown hair san." A boy with black hair and a scar over his eye.
"Well, I barely pass. I'm Syrus. Syrus Truesdale." Syrus said as he pulled his hand out.
"Jaden Yuki." Jaden said
"Mana Garnder." Mana said
"Zarc Sakaki little man." Zarc said, teasing Syrus.
"Ray Sakaki pleasure to meet you." Ray said.
"My name is Gears Crowler." Gears said.
"Well, I'm Hunter…" As Hunter was about to introduce himself.
{"Hunter Wheeler to Exam Field 1. Please report to Exam Field 1." An announcer said.}
"WHAAATT!" Syrus yelled out.
"Yep, I'm Joey Wheeler's son. Well got to go." Hunter said.
{"Mana Gardner to Exam Field 2," an announcer said.}
"Well, see you guys on the other side." Mana said
{"Ray Sakaki please report to Exam Field 3." An announcer said.}
"Well, time to crush some unexpecting examiner," Ray said
{"Jaden Yuki goes to Field 4." An Announcer said}
{"Zarc Sakaki please report to field 4 after Jaden Yuki." An announcer said.}
"I guess we're next." Zarc and Jaden said as they stood up and walked to the duel arena.

Examiner hand Luster Dragon, Serpent Night Dragon, Crush Card Virus, Dust Tornado, Celtic Guardian.
"I'll go first! I summon the Luster Dragon!" the examiner said.

"Then I end the turn." Examiner said
"Okay! I DRAW!" Hunter said
Hunter's hand Rescue Rabbit, Colosseum- Cage of the Gladiator Beasts, Gladiator Beast War Chariot, Test Tiger, and drew card Gladiator Beast-Lanista.
"First I activate the Colosseum-Cage of the Gladiator Beasts then I summon Rescue Rabbit!" Hunter said as he summoned a white and grey rabbit with a helmet, goggles, and a walkie-talkie around its neck.
"KAWAII!" Most of the girls cheered out loud.
"Sorry girls but he is not going to stay cause I banished him to special summon two copies of Gladiator Beast Andal." Hunter said
As the rabbit disappeared two black bears wearing purple armor appeared.
"ROAR!" the Andals roared.

"Since I special summoned from the deck I can put a counter on my field spell. Now I send both Andals back into the deck to fusion summon! Gladiator Beast Essedarii!" Hunter said as a Gorilla appeared with an orange helmet and riding an orange chariot., while holding a spike club and a shield.

"Now attack Essedarii!" Hunter said as Essedarii charged at the poor dragon and swatted it.

"Heh, you're a good kid I can see why you're the son of a legend. Pulling off a fusion on your first turn." The examiner said
"Right I end with a face down," Hunter said as he set Gladiator Beast War Chariot facedown.
Turn end.
"My turn! I DRAW! The card I drew is ancient rules and I activate it and special summon Midnight Dragon! And I end the turn with a face down." The examiner said as he put the Dust Tornado face down.

"Alright, I draw! I summoned Gladiator Beast Laquari in attack mode!" Hunter said.

"Now I special summon Test Tiger and now I tribute Test Tiger to send Laqurari into the deck and special summon Murnillo in attack mode!" Hunter said as he summoned Murmillo.

"Now I activate Murmillo's effect when special summoned by an effect of a gladiator beast effect or rather Test Tiger's effect. Can destroy one monster on the field and I use it on your dragon!" Hunter said.
As Hunter said that Silent Night Dragon was destroyed.
"Oh, no." the Examiner said.
"I now attack you directly with both monsters!" Hunter said
Combine 3700 atk. Power.
DUEL OVER.
"Hunter Wheeler you pass welcome to duel academy." The examiner said
"YEAH!" Hunter cheered.
[Meanwhile with Mana.]

"Chocolate Magician Girl destroyed his Alligator!" Mana said.

Dark Magician Girl aimed her wand at the and then…
"DARK BURNING ATTACK!" Mana yelled as the poor guy was burned.
"Ouch…" the examiner said.

"Well, Mana despite being burned. Good job Mana Gardener welcome to Duel Academy." The examiner said.
"Yes!" Mana said as she jumped into the air.
[Meanwhile with Ray]

Field D/D/D Flame King Genghis, D/D/D Oracle King D' Arc, and Dark Contract with the Swamp King.
Examiner LP1000
Field empty.
"What is this?!" the examiner said in fear.
"Now Genghis, D'Arc attack this fool directly!" Ray said as her demon attack.
"NO WAIT!" the examiner said.
BOOM!
"Ouch…" the examiner said as he was laying on his back.
"You pass." The examiner said.
"Yes, who wants to be my next victim," Ray said in Chazz's direction.
As Chazz blushed at her.
Next match special Tag duel.
[Jaden and Zarc vs Crowler and Hiro Ryder.]
"Well, it seems that two late entrees are late and both get a special duel." Crowler said.
"I hate to say it but both of you will have a tag duel against us. The strongest instructors from Duel Academy have to offer. And to make things fair you guys can make a draw and an attack to give you kids first blood." Hiro said.
"Cool I bet you're the strongest "Kamen" Ryder." Zarc said.
"So you know who he is but do you know who I am?" Crowler asked
"I thought you were a clown or a woman," Jaden said.
"Wait he's a man. I thought he was an ugly woman or something." Zarc said.
"GRR! NO! I AM THE HEADMASTER OF THE BLUE DORM. For that comment, you have cast the power gauntlet!" Crowler said in anger.
[Meanwhile at the stands with the students in the blue dorm.]
"Well, that escalated quickly," Chazz said
"Well, I feel bad for those two Zane. They're up against the best teacher at Duel Academy and Crowler." The blonde girl said.
"Well, Alexis If we're lucky we get to see that rare card in that deck." This man is Zane Truesdale, older brother of Syrus Truesdale.
Alexis wonders if the two will survive, especially this Jaden kid.

"I'll go first. I'll place two cards face down and activate Heavy Storm which destroys my trap cards but in exchange to get two wicked tokens. Then I made a tribute summon for Ancient Gear Golem! Then I end the turn with a face down." Crowler said as he placed metamorph.

"It's the Ancient Gear Golem!" a random applicant yelled out.
"Well, that was quick," Zarc said.
"Cool, I draw!" Jaden drew Pot of Greed
"I activate Pot of Greed and I draw two cards. Then I activated the Chaos Form. I tribute Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon to Ritual Summon! Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon! Jaden said a Blue-Eyes monster appeared on the field.
Cards drew due to the pot of greed Skyscraper and monster reborn.

[Meanwhile in the stands]
"A BLUE EYES MONSTER I THOUGHT ONLY KAIBA HAS THOSE TYPES OF CARDS!" Chazz yelled out.
"Actually I heard there was a tournament two years back when Kaiba and Pegasus release one-of-a-kind Blue Eyes Deck fitted with three new Blue-Eyes White Dragons cards and Blue Eyes support cards. He must have won that tournament." A glasses obelisk blue said.
"Well this got really interesting," Alexis said.
"Heh, sorry if I'm late, what did I miss?" a teen asked with tri-colored hair.
"Oh, hey Atem we're just watching this match," Zane said
"Huh? Hey a Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon very dangerous card." Atem said
[Back to the Battlefield]
"Then I play polymerization and I use Burstinatrix and Avian to form the Flame Wingman," Jaden said.
Flame Wingman. Atk.2100 Def.1200
"Now I activate Skyscraper and now I attack with the Flame Wingman! And Skyscraper's effect kicks in if the monster I'm battling has a higher attack than my hero then he gets a 1000 atk. Power boost!" Jaden said.
"Wait what?! TIME OUT!" Crowler said
BOOM!
The golem was destroyed.
Crowler LP 3900.
"Oh and did I mention Flame Wingman's deals you damage equal to your monster's atk. Points." Jaden said

"And now I attack with my Dragon!" Jaden said

Meanwhile in the stands.
"A one-turn kill?!" Chazz said in surprise.
"Hmm… that guy has a future in Duel Academy how about the other one." Alexis said.
[Back to the duel]
"I guess my turn. I summon Elemental Hero Shadow Mist in attack mode then I activate Mask change for Masked Hero Anki!"
Shadow Mist Atk.1000 Def.1500 then to Anki Atk.2800 Def.1200
"Since I send Shadow Mist to the graveyard I get to add a hero and I choose Solid Soldier. Now I end my turn." Hiro said.
"Alright! I draw!" Zarc said as he drew Dragon's mirror.
"I activated the Boot Sector Launch Field Spell! First I normal summon Gateway Dragon then I special summon Rokket Tracer due to Gateway's effect. Then I special summon Absorouter Dragon since there is a rokket monster on the field and finally I special summon Metalrokket Dragon in def. due to my field spell's effect!" Zarc said.

"Yeah, who is dis guy?" Hunter asked.

"Now I LINK Summon! I Use my four dragons to summon my ACE monster LINK FOUR! Born from my ambition for a brighter future and my desire for people to enjoy my entertaining dueling I LINK SUMMON! Borreload Dragon!" Zarc said as a red dragon with green energy wings and looked mechanical.

[Meanwhile in the stands]
"What the heck is that thing!?" Chazz said in shock.
"I don't know kid but that monster looks stronger than my Cyber Dragons." Zane said
"You're kidding me?" Atem asked
"Hmm… I sense great power from that man." Dark Magician Girl said to Mana.
[Back to the field]
Since Absorouter was sent to the grave this turn I can add a rokket monster from my deck to the hand. Adding Rokket Syncron .Now I activate Dragon's Mirror to banish four dragons in my graveyard and the rokket dragon I added to my hand to fusion summon! FIVE HEADED DRAGON!" Zarc said as the five-headed terror appeared.

Location under Borreload dragon
"Sweet man!" Jaden said
"Thanks and now I use Borreload Dragon to attack your Anki!" Zarc said.
"And now I activate my dragon's first effect. I lower one monster on the field by 500 attack and defense points and I choose my Five-Headed Dragon!" Zarc said
Five-Headed Dragon Atk 5000 Def 5000 – Atk 4500 Def 4500
"Then I activate the 2nd effect of my dragon. I can take control of your monster and place it in a zone it points to." Zarc said as he made a hologram and put it in front of Hiro's face and it showed the Dragon in a strange position in the middle of the opponent's side and his.
"Wait but that means…" Hiro said as his Anki was now placed in the corner right zone the dragon was pointing at.
"Now since your wide-open FIVE HEADED DRAGON ATTACK!" Zarc said as the Five Headed Dragon attacked Hiro directly.

Duel Over…
"Cough! Well, I'm impressed. It's not every day you see two one-turn kills. Welcome to Duel Academy Jaden, Zarc." Hiro said.
While Crowler was complaining that Jaden couldn't have defeated him and blah blah blah.
Chazz and his cronies were in shock that Jaden and Zarc managed to do a one-turn kill each.
[Meanwhile with Chazz]
"Those punks only got lucky." Chazz said
Alexis smiles after seeing Jaden's one-turn kill.
"You, Zane, I was right about him, his future at Duel Academy is sure bright. The other guy as well wouldn't you agree with Zane." Alexis said as she saw Zane's slightly shocked face is strange since he is usually calm and emotionless then walked away.
"Hmmm…Now I think about the tournament for the Blue-Eyes deck my brother did mention the Elemental Hero deck user that must be him from two years ago," Alexis said as she got a little sad that her brother disappeared last year.
As Syrus, Mana, Ray, Hunter, and Gears cheered when they saw Jaden and Zarc.
"Well, this is grand. I could use a little completion. Everyone in that group will be great rivals." Bastion thought.
As the group danced and cheered Jaden saw a beautiful blonde girl and stared at her for a few seconds. Reminding Jaden of someone.
"Getting a crush I see." Yubel appeared.
"That's not it, it's just that she reminds me of Atticus you know the runner-up for the Blue Decks two years ago." Jaden thought.
As Yubel looked at the girl and nodded," You're right, she may be his little sister he kept mentioning. Do you remember his last name was? Cause I forgot when he said he is the "Master of Love"." Yubel said.
"Yeah, I lost focus too when he started to ramble but he did want me to meet his little sister. Atticus is a great Duelist. He was one of the reasons I'm going to Duel Academy." Jaden thought.
[While with Zarc.]
As they cheered Zarc blushed at the Brown hair girl in the style of Dark Magician Girl.
"So, getting a crush on a girl from the past eh?" Borreload Dragon said as he appeared.
"SHUT IT! BORRELOAD! I do not have a crush on her!...even if she is cute…" Zarc yelled at the future dragon but you get the picture.
"I heard that last part," Borreload said with a grin.
While all of that is happening.
"Hey, Dark Magician Girl I wonder what's with his dragon?" Mana asked.
"I sense dark power from it." the Dark Magician Girl said.
Chapter End…
Well not only Jaden's story will have a change in origin but five new characters will change the story for better or for worse. But Let me give you a rundown of my OCs
