This is a rewritten story of Yu-Gi-Oh GX but with OCs of my own and two OCs from Magic Mana's Story. Mostly aligned with the story but I have my own twist.
Inspired by Tales of Academia by Magic Mana and dragonicdevil's Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Season 1,2, and 3 support them or be exterminated!
I do not own any of the Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX characters, or Magic Mana's Characters except my own.

CHEATING DINOS VS LOGICAL MACHINE!
[Red Dorm]
[Jaden's Room]
Everyone was sleeping but Syrus was missing from bed.
"ZZZZZZ…" Jaden and Chumley snored.
[Zarc's Room]
Hunter was reading letters from his parents Mai Valentine and Joey Wheeler on their anniversary.
While Mana and Zarc were sleeping in each other's arms.
"Heheheh...Those two love birds...Well, I should probably see Syrus…" Hunter said as he checks his PDA.
"What the?" Hunter said in shock.
{"Help! I think my duel disk is broken! Proctor Ryuga took my Power Bond! HELP! From Syrus,"} Hunter read.
"Oh boy," Hunter said.
Then he texted.
{"Meet me at the Ra Yellow Dorm. I'll call Gears Crowler," Hunter texted.
Send.
{"Hey! Gears I know you're working on that special project Seto Kaiba and Maxamillion Pegasus had you working on. But there's a problem with Syrus's Duel Disk,"} Hunter texted.
{"Fine...I will need all data of what Syrus did that day…"} Gears texted.
Then Hunter left the dorms and walked towards the Ra Yellow Dorm.
[Ra Yellow Dorm]
"Hey Hunter," Syrus said with a sad tone.
"Hey, Syrus what's wrong?" Hunter asked.
"I duel this new teacher and I tried to use this spell card called Power Bond to fusion summon a machine monster but it didn't work. I lost on the next turn and he took my Power Bond!" Syrus cried.
"Bro…" Hunter said.
"My brother is right! I am not cut out to be a good duelist! Not like Zane!" Syrus shouted as a deck from inside his backpack glowed purple but it wasn't his Cyroids.
Just then…
Zane just entered the dorm room.
"Cyrus? What are you doing here?" Zane asked.
"Sigh...I lose a duel with that new teacher...Mr. Ryuga...and he took my Power Bond… Zane, am I cut out to be a duelist?" Syrus asked.
Zane stared at Syrus.
"Sigh...I can't give you an answer you must give me the answer yourself...besides I think there's something suspicious about Ryuga," Zane said.
"Like what?" Syrus asked.
"Like for the fact that Ryuga is cheating…" Gears said as he came out of his lab.
"Wait how?" Hunter asked.
"The data in Syrus' and Zane's duel disks' common factor is that you two couldn't play any spell cards," Gears said.
"My guess either he hacked his opponents' duel disk or he has a device that's emitting a signal to disrupt the spell cards," Gears said as he puts on his duel vest( Crowler's Duel Vest).
"Wait what are you doing?" Hunter asked.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to duel him," Gears said.
"Gears! Don't! He'll take your best card!" Syrus said as he begs Gears while pulling on his leg.
"Yeah! And what about the device that Ryuga has?" Hunter said.
"I have a countermeasure..." Gears said as he left the room.
[Chancelor's Office]
"Chancellor Sheperd I am imploring you to questioned Mr. Ryuga's claims of 49 wins in a row!" Dr. Crowler said.
"Yes, but the deal was for him to join this school's staff he has to defeat 50 students of this school by your own accord," Shepherd said.
"Yes, but he must have lost at least once. No one has a perfect record of winning! Mr. Ryuga!-" Crowler argued.
Just then Mr. Ryuga appeared.
"Did someone say my name?" Mr. Ryuga asked.
"Oh, Mr. Ryuga I'm glad that you're here I just got word that Mokuba Kaiba is here to fix some complaints we've been having," Shepherd said.
"Really? That's an amazing honor, sir," Mr. Ryuga said.
"Yes, when Mr. Mokuba sees how I duel he'll be impressed by my dueling skills maybe to promote me to Chancellor and I can spread my ideas over the world!" Mr. Ryuga thought.
"Hey, my brother sent me here to help check out the duel disks to see they're working right," Mokuba said.
"Mr. Mokuba, would you like to see my duel first? It would be an honor for you to watch my 50th duel," Mr. Ryuga said.
"Sure, maybe I can find the cause since all the complaints to Kaiba Corp. were all from your duels…" Mokuba said.
"Crap…" Mr. Ryuga thought.
"Well, maybe all those students broke their duel disks," Mr. Ryuga said.
"Mr. Ryuga are you saying that Kaiba Corp.'s Duel Disks are shotty?" Mokuba asked as he does not like where this is going.
"What? No, sir. It's just that maybe some of these students are sore losers and-" Mr. Ryuga said as Gears slammed the door open.
SLAM!
"Mr. Crowler, why are you barging in on this meeting?" Shepherd asked.
"This is an important meeting! Why are you here?!" Dr. Crowler said.
"I am here to challenge this dueling fool to a duel," Gears said.
"So, I will have my 50th duel. " Mr. Ryuga thought.
"Alright, brat. I will duel you," Mr. Ryuga said.
[Later…]
[Obelisk Blue Duel Arena]
Both duelists are on opposite sides of the arena. Chancellor Shepherd, Dr. Crowler, Syrus, Zane, Mokuba, and the other 47 that lost to Mr. Ryuga were sitting in the stands.
"DUEL!" Gears and Mr. Ryuga said at the same time.
[Gears' Life Points: 4000] Ancient Gear Deck with Gadget cards.
[Mr. Ryuga's Life Points: 4000] Dinosaurs (Dinosaur Rampage structure deck without Ultimate Tyrano or Super Conductor Tyrano)
Gears' hand: Green Gadget, Ancient Gear Gadget, Polyerzation, Ancient Gear Fortress, and Mirror Wall.
Mr. Ryuga's hand: Hyper Hammerhead, Black Tyranno, Big Evolution Mad Sword Beast, and Negate Attack.
"Teachers will go first." Gears said.
[Turn 1 Ryuga]
"Fine brat…I summon Mad Sword Beast in attack mode!" Mr. Ryuga said as he summon the said monsters.
Mad Sword Beast LV.4 [Dinosaur/ Effect] [If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage.] [ATK.1400 / DEF. 1200].
ROAR!
Mad Sword Beast roared.
"Then I place, a face-down and end my turn," Mr. Ryuga said as he placed Negate Attack face down.
"Your turn," Mr. Ryuga said.
[Turn 1 Gears]
"I draw…" Gears said as his duel vest drew a card into his fingers.
The card he drew was Ancient Gear Soldier.
"Hmmm...Okay, time to see this fool does cheat…" Gears thought.
"I play the spell POLYMERIZATION to fuse my Ancient Gear Soldier and my Ancient Gear Gadget to fusion summon Ancient Gear Howitzer!" Gears said as he plays the spell card.
Then Mr. Ryuga fiddle with his ring.

…
But nothing happened.
"What happens?" Mokuba and Dr. Crowler thought.
"HA! Your duel vest must be broken!" Mr. Ryuga said.
"Fine… But know this in once the pieces are in place I will play spell cards again," Gears said.
"I summon Green Gadget in attack mode!" Gears said.
Green Gadget LV.4 EARTH [Machine/Effect] [When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Red Gadget" from your Deck to your hand.] [ATK.1400 / DEF. 600]
"When Green Gadget is normal or special summon. I can add "Red Gadget" from my deck and add it to my hand," Gears said as he searched his Deck for Red Gadget.
"Then I end my turn with a face-down card," Gears said as he placed Mirror Wall.
"Why did Gears' Duel Vest didn't play the spell card?" Dr. Crowler thought.
"Hmmm…" Mokuba thought.
[Turn 2 Ryuga]
"Yes! My turn! I DRAW!" Mr. Ryuga said as he drew a card.
He drew Kabazauls.
"Good… I summon Kabazauls in attack mode!" Mr. Ryuga said as he summoned Kabazauls.
Kabazauls LV.4 WATER[Dinosaur/Normal] A huge monster in the shape of a hippopotamus. The sneezing from his gigantic body is so fierce that people mistake it for a hurricane. [ATK. 1700 /DEF. 1500].
"NOW I ATTACK YOUR GREEN GADGET WITH MY KABAZAULS!" Mr. Ryuga said as he attacks with his Kabazauls.
"I play the trap card Mirror Wall." Gears said.
"NANI?!" Mr. Ryuga said in shock.
Kabazauls ATK.1700 halved= 850
Kabazauls ATK. 850 vs. Green Gadget ATK.1400
1400 - 850 =550
[Mr. Ryuga LP 3450]
"Damnit!" Mr. Ryuga thought as Kabazauls was destroyed in battle.
"TCH! I END MY TURN!" Mr. Ryuga said.
[Turn 3 Gears]
"I DRAW!" Gears said as he drew Geartown.
"Okay, I summon Red Gadget in defense mode!" Gears said.
Gears summons Red Gadget in defense mode.
Red Gadget LV.4 EARTH [Machine/Effect] [When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Yellow Gadget" from your Deck to your hand.][ATK.1300 /DEF. 1500].
"Now by Red Gadget's effect, I can add a Yellow Gadget and add it to my hand!" Gears said as he add Yellow Gadget from his deck and to his hand.
"And I pay 2000 Life Points to keep Mirror Wall active!" Gears said.
4000 -2000 =2000
[Gears LP 2000]
"Damnit! What is his plan?" Mr. Ryuga said.
"Alright, I will attack! Green Gadget GO!" Gears said as he send Green Gadget to attack Mad Sword Beast.
"If that thing attacks I will be wide open and any monsters I summon attack points will be halved if I attack!" Mr. Ryuga thought.
"I-I play the trap card! NEGATE ATTACK!" Mr. Ryuga said as he reveals the facedown card stopping Green Gadget's attack.
[The Stands]
"Why? He'd do that?" Mokuba asked.
"Gears is messing with him… He's trying to psyche him out or he knew that Ryuga would play Negate Attack just so he could build up an attacking force," Dr. Crowler said.
"So he played into Gears' hands?" Shepherd asked.
"Yes, but his claim about playing spell cards as the pieces are in place...is Mr. Ryuga cheating?" Dr. Crowler asked.
[Back into the Duel]
"Fine...I end my turn…" Gears said.
[Turn 3 Ryuga]
"I DRAW!" Mr. Ryuga said as he drew Jurassic World.
"I play the field spell Jurrasic World! Now all my dinosaur-type monsters will gain 300 attack and defense points!" Mr. Ryuga said.
Mad Sword Beast ATK.1400/DEF.1200 + 300 = 1700/1500.
"Now I activate Big Evolution Pill! I tribute Mad Sword Beast and I can normally summon an LV.5 or above Dinosaur without a tribute summon. I summon BLACK TYRANNO!" Mr. Ryuga said as he summoned it.
Black Tyranno LV.8 EARTH [Dinosaur/Effect] [If the only cards your opponent controls are Defense Position monsters, this card can attack directly.] [ATK.2600/DEF.1800].
Black Tyranno ATK 2600/DEF 1800 + 300 =2900/2100.
ROAR!
"I would like to see you squirm without your trap card I end my turn!" Mr. Ryuga said.
"Big mistake! I DRAW!" Gears said as he drew a card.
[Gears Turn 4]
The card he drew water Ancient Gear Golem.
"Okay… I summon Yellow Gadget in attack mode!" Gears said as Yellow Gadget was summoned.
Yellow Gadget LV.4 EARTH.[Machine/Effect] [When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Green Gadget" from your Deck to your hand.]
"Now I add a Green Gadget monster from my deck and add it to my hand!" Gears said as he adds the monster card.
"Now I play the field spell GEARTOWN!" Gears said as he plays Geartown.
Then Mr. Ryuga fiddled with his ring again.

BZZZTT!
Mr. Ryuga's ring blew up!
BOOM!
"OWCH! NANI?!" Mr. Ryuga said in horror.
Then everyone noticed that Mr. Ryuga's ring exploded.
"WHat just happened?" Shepard asked.
"Ryuga was cheating!" Mokuba said.
"Capture that cheat!" Dr. Crowler said.
"NO! THIS DUEL IS MY TO FINISH!" Gears said as everyone stopped.
"Y-you knew?" Mr. Ryuga asked.
"Yes, it was obvious, from all the data I collected all leads to you cheating and my countermeasure was the Gadget Monsters all on the field. If you weren't so arrogant then maybe you would have won!" Gears said as he played.
"I play Ancient Gear Fortress! And I play Polymerization to combine my Ancient Gear: Gadget, Soldier, and Golem to fusion summon! ULTIMATE ANCIENT GEAR GOLEM!" Gears said as he summoned Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem.
Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem LV.10 EARTH [Machine/Fusion/Effect]]["Ancient Gear Golem" + 2 "Ancient Gear" monsters]

"Crap…" Mr. Ryuga stared in horror.
"And now I put Red Gadget in attack mode! And Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem attack Black Tyranno with Ultimate Mechanized MELEE!" Gears said.
4400 - 2900= 1500
BOOM!
"GAH!" Mr. Ryuga said in pain as Black Tyranno was destroyed.

"Now my gadgets attack!" Gears said as Red, Green, and Yellow Gadgets attacked Mr. Ryuga directly.
BOOM!
"NO!" Mr. Ryuga said.

[DUEL OVER]
"Now that this duel is over. Hand over all the cards you took from everyone you defeated!" Gears said.
"WHAT?!" Dr. Crowler said in shock.
"Guards! Take him away!" Mokuba said.
"What? NO! MY GENIUS PLAN!" Mr. Ryuga said as he was caught by two guards and the guards took all the cards he took from him and returned them all to the students.
"DAMN YOU GEARS CROWLER I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!" Mr. Ryuga yelled as he was taken away.
"Thanks, Gears I got my Power Bond back!" Syrus said as he hugs him.
"No, problem…" Gears said as he started to walked away.
"That boy was able to make a firewall and the key components was those three Gadget monsters...I'm impressed no wonder that kid and Sterling Fudo are working on Project: Synchro…" Mokuba thought.
