Cooper, Sandiego & The Gang In
:Hot Rocks of Rio Pt 2:
Deep within the hills of Rio, Sly and Carmen lie on the ground restrained in ropes. They were at the mercy of VILE agents Tigress, Le Chevre and El Topo. However before they could contact the faculty, Shadowsan had arrived. However was he there to help the two thieves or cart them off back to VILE Island.
"Trust me when I say you will each be greatly rewarded, for your part in capturing Carmen Sandiego, and Sly Cooper." Shadowsan said to the three VILE operatives as he walked over to the restrained super thieves.
"Cha ching bling!" Tigress smirked then looked at the raccoon thief's cane. "Hm I may even keep this as a trophy."
"Doctor M will be wanting that." Shadowsan said to her as he looked down on Carmen and Sly who were still struggling in their restraints.
However Le Chevre was a little confused, given the Stealth 101 teachers recent absence. "But Shadowsan, the other instructors told us you have been missing?"
"Sticking to the shadows was a necessary strategy." Shadowsan explained. "Until earlier today when I could finally inform my colleagues at the island that I once again had Carmen Sandiego in my sights, and I would in turn deal with the meddling Sly Cooper."
"So that was you I saw in the Binocucom earlier today!" Sly suddenly realised but Carmen was too busy glaring at what her so called ally had to say next.
Ignoring Sly's realisation Shadowsan continued. "Not knowing who might have leaked our whereabouts at Countess Cleo's chateau in france I opted to keep my movements secret. For we would have captured our traitor that night were we not suddenly surrounded by police." Sly recalled these events all too well but he nor Carmen liked what was coming next. "Having no other recourse, I chose to take extreme measures to keep up appearances in order to earn Carmens trust and deceive the naive raccoon accomplice." Shadowsan continued. "I then left quite an elaborate trail of breadcrumbs to lure them back into our clutches all over again." He smirked rather evilly.
To say that Carmen felt a stab in the back of betrayal was an understatement she was genuinely hurt and betrayed. Sly's eyes just lit up with fury after hearing all of this.
"So that hard drive was a set up you lured us out here!" Sly exclaimed.
"Guilty as charged, it would seem that Dr M was right about you Cooper, lure you out with sympathy and you ignore your better instincts." Shadowsan said.
"But Black Sheep despised you? How could you win her trust so quickly, let alone deceive Cooper?" Le Chèvre said still confused.
Sly suddenly put two and two together rather quickly. "Oh you son of a…you didn't!"
Shadowsan smirked at that reaction when he continued. "By knowing where Carmen was most venerable, by concocting false words about her past. By telling her exactly what she wanted to hear."
Carmens eyes widened with absolute fury knowing what he said was all a lie. "I'll make you eat those false words!" She exclaimed.
"You bastard you best pray I don't get free because when I do I'm gonna hang you from those words!" Sly said angered at how he deceived one he considered family.
Shadowsan then kneeled down and taunted the two thieves. "Is it my fault the two of you are so easy to fool, you are very much alike letting your emotions cloud your judgement." He said. "And Cooper I'm rather surprised that you bought that story, or how Carmen was foolish enough to believe that it was Coach Brunt who found her as a baby."
"What!" Carmen exclaimed still not believing any of this, in Poitier France Shadowsan sounded so sincere, but to hear this now. But to both her and Sly something didn't make sense sure Brunt was soft on Carmen, but a week ago she was set to crush her literally. Something was off.
"And in Moscow of all places." Shadowsan stood up and looked to the operatives. "Coach Brunt hasn't even set foot in Russia." He then burst out laughing and the operatives simply laughed a little as it was rare that Shadowsan had a sense of humour.
Carmen still couldn't make sense of this nor did Sly, after the stories he'd heard of him none of them mentioned him laughing or even cracking a smile. Just then however their answer came. The ninja looked down on them and gave them a hinting look telling them to play along. It was then the two of them realised that he was here to help them. So they played along.
"You…you won't get away with this!" Carmen defied.
"Yeah you guys don't exactly have the best track record of catching Carmen or even me, something that the thieves I've faced back home can vouch for." Sly then said.
"I am afraid that I already did." Shadowsan said as he picked Carmen up and threw her over his shoulders while holding Sly with his other hand on his bound hands.
"Oooo snap!" Tigress said enjoying every minute of this. "Good one bossanova!" She then handed Shadowsan the cane that belonged to Sly.
"I will escort our prisoners back to VILE island, where I will ensure the appropriate punishment, and let Dr M dispose of Cooper." Shadowsan said before giving a hinting smirk to Carmen and Sly then turning to El Topo.
"Before I do…the gem stones?" He asked the operatives.
"Tonight in the belly of the beast…" Suddenly El Topo was hit in the arm by Le Chevre. The goat operative seemed rather suspicious of this whole situation.
"If Shadowsan has checked in with the others, he no doubt already knows the…." Suddenly Le Chevre was knocked unconscious by a karate chop to the neck knocking him out.
"Enough of your insolence!" Shadowsan scolded before turning to Tigress and El Topo. "Tie him up I will return for him shortly." The ninja took his leave with his captives leaving Tigress and El Topo to tie up their comrade, unaware they'd been duped.
"Yes Instructor Shadowsan." Tigress said respectfully. "You heard him!" She said harshly to El Topo so they tied up Le Chevre.
Once the ninja knew they were out of earshot they dropped their cover. "I gotta give you props, you had us going there for a minute." Sly said impressed by the ninjas acting.
"My efforts to remain invisible have been ruined!" Shadowsan said rather angered at the two thieves. "Of all the VILE operations to target did you two have to choose this one!"
Carmen was rather offended by that. "What! You supplied the hard drive loaded with intel!"
"Yeah sorry we didn't see a note saying hey stay away from South America!" Sly agreed. "Besides for a ninja you certainly weren't being invisible when I saw you from the statue?"
It was then Carmen remembered her current position. "Ah and do you mind!" She said indignantly. Shadowsan grumbled as he placed Carmen down and released Sly using the hook on his cane to cut his bonds. Then handing said tool back to him so he could free Carmen.
"Anyway what are you doing in Rio anyway?" Carmen asked.
"Trying to stop VILE from smuggling uncut gemstones out of Rio, but your presence has once again complicated things." Shadowsan told them.
"Says the guy who disappeared on us back in France, besides we know how to be stealthy." Sly said.
"This is not the time for conversation we must leave here before they discover my ruse was false." Shadowsan then reminded the two of them. So without delay they made a run back to the entrance.
Back in the main mine Le Cheve was bound and gagged by his cohorts. Just then the Faculty called in on the screen located on the machinery.
"Tigress report." Professor Maelstrom said getting her attention.
"The gems are packed and ready to deliver." Tigress reported before smirking boastfully. "And your about to receive a special delivery of a whole other kind." She smirked.
This had gotten the smirking Professor Maelstroms attention. "Do tell."
"Carmen Sandiego and Sly Cooper." She reported as Le Cheve struggled in his bindings. "We nabbed them you could say they fell right into our laps, and Shadowsan's providing the return trip."
That last part had defiantly gotten the Professors attention as it is to be said of the rest of the Faculty and Dr M. "Shadowsan?" He squinted suspiciously.
VILE Island:
"Mhm, you should've seen Carmens face she looked like she was about to ugly cry. Oh and that rodent he looked really pissed almost as if he was going to murder someone." Tigress giggled.
However the Faculty looked oblivious to all that and were more focused on the main factor. "You saw Shadowsan?" Dr.M asked.
"Yep wearing some sort of freaky beaky bird mask." Tigress replied. "He showed up right after he spoke with you guys."
The Faculty looked at each other even more oblivious and dumbfounded just what was Tigress talking about? "Spoke with us?" Cleo asked.
"About what?" Dr M asked rather suspiciously. "What did Shadowsan speak to us about?"
"Oh about how he was under deep cover, and why he had to help Carmen and Sly escape and…." However Tigress noticed the surprised and startled looks on her teachers faces as Gunnar pinched the bridge of his nose.
Dr.M just slapped his face. "We've trained idiots!" He growled. While Brunt looked seriously angry it was all too clear now who had knocked her out back in Poitier France that allowed Carmen and Sly to escape. She was clenching her fists.
Tigress saw the look on their faces. "Did Shadowsan not call you today?" She genuinely asked nervously. With one yell Brunt slammed the table with her fists which shook the room. So much one of the roof hangings crashed to the floor and shattered like glass.
Dr.M just looked back to the screen. "If you incompetent fools want that to happen to you FIND THEM!" He yelled as he cut the feed.
El Topo and Tigress had the same genuine terrified expressions on their faces. They had just let Carmen and Sly out of their clutches yet again and worst of all their Stealth 101 teacher had duped them. Just then Le Chevre had managed to spit off the gag on his mouth.
"Untie me!" He exclaimed.
"AFTER THEM!" Tigress yelled and the VILE Agents ran into the tunnels after their escaping fugitives.
The Tunnels:
In the Tunnels Carmen, Sly and Shadowsan ran and soon they found the ladder heading out of the tunnels and back to the Favelas.
"Hey look I gotta ask why'd you even show your face anyway you could've just busted us out before they were gonna ship us to VILE?" Sly asked.
"Sly has a point your the one who taught Stealth 101 at VILE Academy. If you want to stay invisible keep your mask on." Carmen agreed.
They soon arrived at the ladder. "Sneaking you both past three dozen operatives would've proven impossible, showing my face was the only strategic option." Shadowsan explained.
"So as not to arouse suspicion. Smart." Sly said impressed. All of a sudden they heard the sound of footsteps coming from some seriously ticked off VILE Agents.
"Well boys looks like the cats out of the bag." Carmen realised as she started to climb the ladder.
"Age before beauty." Sly gestured offering the ninja to go first who simply grumbled as he climbed the ladder with Sly close behind.
The Favelas:
The secret hatch below the chair opened and Carmen stepped out of the mine entrance, followed by Shadowsan and Sly. Carmen picked up her hat and coat from the side.
Players Room:
In his room Player was still wondering what happened to Sly and Carmen, let alone their absent comrades. Just then the avatars of a certain red hat and raccoon symbol appeared back on the screen.
"Red, Blue! You're back online!" Player said glad to see his friends were okay. "So what I miss?"
Rio: The Favelas:
"Fill you in later." Carmen said as she, Sly and Shadowsan emerged from the Favela back into the main street. "But lets just say, we bumped into an acquaintance." She said and Shadowsan gave a slight smile.
"Yeah you could say he appeared out of thin air in the nick of time." Sly added.
Players Room:
It didn't take Player long to figure out who they were talking about. "Ninja reappearing act." Player guessed.
"Bang on the money." Sly said.
Rio: The Favelas:
Moments later, Tigress, Le Chevre and El Topo came out of the Favela. However they saw that their quarry had all but escaped. However they knew they can't have gone far.
"Go!" Tigress pointed to the others. The trio split off in different directions hoping to try and catch up with the escaped thieves.
Sly, Carmen and Shdowsan fled down one of the alleyways narrowly avoiding Tigress who had just arrived. She looked around then headed down the alleyway the thieves had headed down. All she found was it ended in a dead end with no sign of the thief in red, the ninja or the ring tailed thief. What she didn't see was the trio running over the rooftops of the Favelas. Tigress growled in frustration.
High above Sly, Carmen and Shadowsan ran along the rooftops of the Favelas. However El Topo was below and had just caught sight of them running on the rooftops.
"Mi amigo they've taken the high ground!" He warned his partner on the coms.
Le Chevre understood the message and leaped onto the wall to another swung on a street lamp and flew onto the roof. He landed just as he saw the trio of fleeing thieves run by. He gave case as they jumped from rooftop to rooftop. The chase soon leads to a dead end street with a dumpster. Carmen leaped onto the dumpster and bounced from one wall to another and leaped over the roof. Followed by Sly who leaped from the dumpster and swung his cane to catch onto the roof and performed a Cane pull move to leap over the roof. Shadowsan then followed and he leaped on the dumpster and did a run up to the wall and flipped over.
Le Chèvre simply ran up one wall, over the dumpster and up the opposite wall where he back flipped onto the roof. He landed and ran only to see that his quarry wasn't there. He looked all-around for any sign of them but it was clear they had once again alluded him. He squinted in frustration as he pulled out his phone and contacted the Faculty.
"I am afraid they flew the coop!" Le Chevre reported much to the infuriation of the Faculty and Dr M. "Shall we call off the shipment tonight?"
"You will do nothing of the sort!" Dr M interrupted. "Continued as planned, but double the security and if you see either Cooper, Sandiego or Shadowsan any where near, shoot on site!" He then looked over Le Chevre from the screen. "Oh and one more thing Le Chevre."
"Yes Dr M?" Le Chevre asked.
"Will you please take off that pathetic excuse for a disguise! Its disrespectful to your training as a thief!" Dr M stated as the line was closed.
"IT IS A COSTUME!" Le Chevre yelled in annoyance. He failed to notice a bus passing through the Favelas.
Hanging from the side of the bus was Carmen, Sly and Shadowsan. Said Raccoon hung from his cane on the roof of the bus. The three shared a knowing smirk that they had given their pursuers the slip, as the bus drove off into the distance.
Isle of VILE:
"The mind reels at the possible layers of deception." Cleo said as she and her fellow Faculty members paced the room. Even Dr M was pondering. "But it would appear that the master of stealth has been playing us all for fools for quite some time now."
"Since his recent trip to Poitier? Or since the day he brought that baby to our island?" Dr Bellum wondered.
"Nurturing our future nemesis under our noses for nearly twenty years while continuing to operate as our equal." Maelstrom realised. "That would be quite the long game Dr Bellum."
"Indeed Gunnar, but the question we have to ask ourselves is this." Dr M then said. "Why would Shadowsan wait until now to show his true colours? But it is clear from what I've heard of Black Sheeps failing grade from his teachings he did fail her intentionally. And only now when we were on the verge of capturing her and Cooper does he show his true intentions, but why?"
"When your right your right M." Coach Brunt agreed. "I mean what could he possibly have against us, after welcoming him into our fold the way we did. Especially with what he did before he brought Black Sheep here or us meeting Dr M."
"All good questions." Dr M noted as Countess Cleo came over.
"The fact remains. If Shadowsan is allied with Carmen Sandiego and Sly Cooper, who are in turn allied with this ACME…" Cleo realised.
"Then VILE may no longer be the worlds best kept evil secret." Gunnar came to the same conclusion.
"Indeed, I fear our very existence is in grave threat indeed." Dr M agreed, as all the Faculty members stood silently in the room. If Shadowsan had indeed betrayed them then all known forms of VILE intelligence could be in their former pride and joys hands. Which they believed could also fall into the hands of ACME.
As the Cleaners cleaned up the roof chandelier, the Faculty contemplated the very future of VILE's veil of secrecy.
Rio: The Favelas:
Back at the Favelas, Shadowsan, Sly and Carmen headed up into the rooftops of the buildings. Having given the VILE trio the slip. "Okay Shadowsan, we gave them the slip, so what do you know about VILE's plans for that Alexandrite." Sly asked.
"Only that VILE is attempting to move a half billion dollars worth of uncut gemstones out of Rio tonight." Shadowsan replied as they climbed up the rice sacks to the roof.
"Thats probably more than enough to fund every other future plan indicated on that hard drive you gave us." Carmen realised as they climbed up onto the roof. However it was heading away from the mine. "So shouldn't we be trying to sneak into the mine right now?"
"I don't think so Carmen going back would be a waste of time." Sly said before turning to Shadowsan. "Am I right?"
"Indeed, I take it you saw their operation was thoroughly mined." Shadowsan noted Sly's observant skills. "The gemstones have already been moved to a second location."
"Right belly of the beast they said, whatever that means." Carmen realised. "So your taking us to that location?"
"If I knew where it was I would." Shadowsan explained. "I was tracking the operative Le Chevre silently." They soon arrived at a blue water tower. "When these children and their companions became an unnecessary and rather loud complication."
Shadowsan proceeded to remove the top off of the water tower. Inside it revealed to be Ivy, Murray, Zack and Bentley tied up and gagged. They screamed when they saw their friends had come to save them.
Carmen and Sly looked rather surprised. "Well this explains the sudden radio silence." Sly noted.
With that the two removed their gags allowing them to speak. "You guys okay?" Carmen asked.
"Carm! Sly! We found goat boy but his buddy jumped us!" Zack exclaimed.
"His disguise wasn't as obvious a mole wearing a bird beak!" Ivy explained.
"Yeah me and Bentley tried to stop him but he was too fast for even the Murray to vanquish!" Murray agreed.
"Uh Murray I don't think that was Le Chevre's partner he's not agile or fast enough to execute those manoeuvres." Bentley pointed out.
Carmen and Sly eyed the master of stealth knowing that he was the one who actually subdued the crew. Shadowsan just looked at them knowingly, given he was trying to follow VILE silently.
Ivy climbed out of the water tower followed by Bentley who used his wheelchairs robot arms to extend up and lift him out. Zack climbed out and fell to the ground. Murray got stuck and tried to pull himself out. After a couple of tugs he popped right out of the water tower flat on his face.
It was then Ivy noticed the ninja in their friends company. "So uh…who's your pal?"
"I believe it maybe the one who actually captured us." Bentley assumed.
"You believe right Bentley." Carmen said. "Crew, meet Shadowsan." She then introduced the ninja.
Ivy had a rather glaring suspicious look but her brother on the other hand looked excited. "Oh man the ninja!" He said excited.
"The mean teacher who cheated Carmen out of a passing grade! And tried to stop her from escaping the island!" Ivy said rather angry.
"Hey isn't he the grouchy, bullying, arrogant frowning dude who hates Carmen and cheated her though she's the best pick pocket?" Murray asked.
"Yes I believe that would be the very person Murray. Very accurate descriptions." Bentley guessed.
Shadowsan just eyed Carmen with a raised eyebrow. "I might…have mentioned you on occasion."
"Yeah more than a few." Sly said only to receive an elbow to the gut from the lady in red.
"But whats past is past, Shadowsan's on our side now." Carmen explained.
"Alright welcome to the gang ninja guy!" Murray yelled with his hands in the air. Ivy however just eyed him suspiciously.
"Oh man I'm gonna get to learn all the wicked ninja moves!" Zack said excited. He tried to do a karate chop only for Shadowsan to catch his hand in his. "I can see my trainings only begun sensei."
Ivy just eyed him and gave him an 'I'm watching you' look. While Shadowsan just grumbled, he was now working with a bunch of amateurs and pranksters.
Bentley rolled over to Carmen and Sly and discreetly spoke to them. "Sly I know its not my place to question but are we sure we can trust him?" He said.
"I think so, he's saved us twice now we owe him that." Sly said to Bentley. "Plus he maybe the only link Carmen has to her past so if she trusts him I trust him."
"Thanks Sly." Carmen said glad to see he supported her decision. "Bentley right now we need to find out how VILE are smuggling those gemstones out of Rio tonight."
Elsewhere: Corcovado Mountain:
Meanwhile under the gaze of the statue of Christ the Redeemer there was another presence in Rio, of the ACME kind. Agent Zari with Carmelita and Julia in tow now wearing their ACME suits and glasses. With Carmelita's hair tied in a pony tail. They were looking at Zari's phone which was showing security footage of a certain lady in red and her Thievious Raccoonus partner in crime gliding from the statue.
"Security camera footage." Zari said but she wondered. "Why would our two perpetrators so openly flaunt their positions?"
"Hm flaunting ones position isn't really Coopers style, can't really speak much for Ms Sandiego though." Carmelita noted. "Agent Argent your assessment?"
Julia thought for a while before she came up with an answer. "Well, if Carmen and Sly have been here in Rio De Janeiro for three days, and a major theft hasn't yet been committed." Julia theorised while looking at the skyline view of the city. "Perhaps they were simply taking the quickest route from point A to point B."
Agent Zari however seemed to think differently "Don't you mean point V? She and her raccoon accomplice may've been rushing off to meet their friends from VILE?"
"We shouldn't assume that Ms Sandiego or Mr Cooper are actually in league with the enemy." Julia stated simply.
"She has a point and by all accounts of the incident Agent Devinaux wasn't in his right mind after his last encounter with Ms Sandiego plus theres no indication that Cooper was involved with his capture. Thats not his style." Carmelita agreed.
"You seem to know a lot about that Agent Fox." Agent Zari noticed.
"Well when you've been chasing the ringtail for years you pick up a few things." Carmelita simply said.
"Indeed, Agent Fox's experience with Cooper is viable, and as far as Agent Devinaux is concerned he was disoriented which means we shouldn't believe whatever it is he told Chief that he thinks, he saw." Julia said tilting her glasses still not believing Carmens involvement in her former partners abduction.
"Besides theres a saying innocent till proven guilty, until we have all the facts all we have are theories." Carmelita said backing Julia up. However deep down she did have her doubts, she knew Sly wouldn't do this, though she was still skeptical about his new companion in red. She wanted to believe they were innocent but so far they weren't giving her much choice. Just what did her ex boyfriend get himself wrangled into?
At the same time though the two women couldn't help but wonder how Chase was doing.
Interpol Paris:
Back in Paris, Chase Devineaux had been transferred back to Interpol. He was now fully recovered from his injuries and was now back at work. His supervisor was escorting him through the hallways. Chase himself was back in his normal attire and a new jacket.
"Welcome back to Interpol mousier Devineaux." The supervisor said. "We are delighted to see you are fully recovered from your fall."
"Fall?" Chase said confused.
"The reason for your medical leave." The Supervisor explained looking over his papers. "Eh onto the hood of your car?"
Chase remembered he did fall onto the hood of his car the first time he met a certain thief in red. It would seem that ACME had that as a cover story for him. Regardless he was rather eager given the circumstances.
"Nevermind that I'm anxious to dive back in." Chase said confidently.
"Ah bon, we have a quite a backlog of case files that need to be verified recorded and logged." The supervisor gestured to an office.
Chase looked and saw there were people going over paper work and stamping them. Some of them were old men who looked like they had been there for years, one person even looked at the lettering through a magnifying glass while others were half asleep with piles and piles of papers. The Interpol inspector was horrified it was his worst nightmare he had been given an office job which meant one thing.
"P…paper work! But th..there has to be some mistake I am an inspector a field agent?!" Chase explained rather sternly.
However the supervisor saw otherwise. "Hmm no, it says so right here in your transfer papers." The Supervisor showed him the transfer papers. "File. Clerk."
Chase could see it was written in the transfer papers clear as day. He wondered how this could be possible? He had gone from an inspector to a desk job almost over night. Just what was going on? Then he realised that Chief probably had a hand in this.
"Doing our part for a safer world." The Supervisor saluted with two fingers as he left Chase to his new office. The latter could only groan could he go any lower?
Rio: Later that night:
Back in South America night had fallen over the city of Rio, and Carnival was well underway. Fireworks flew up into the sky and samba dancers were on parade floats of all shapes and sizes in the shapes of majestic birds, flowers even castles with dazzling lights and music playing loud and bright.
From the view of the Favela rooftops The Cooper & Sandiego gang with Shadowsan in tow watched from above. Carmen was speaking to Player on her phone.
"So heres the half billion dollar question. Why would VILE wait till tonight to move the gemstones right in the middle of Carnival?" Player asked.
"More children?!" Shadowsan said in disbelief to see Carmen and Sly communicating with a boy in his room. "Please tell me this is another unruly prank."
"No joke, Players our secret weapon." Carmen said proudly.
"Ahem!" They looked to Bentley who looked a little offended by that remark.
"Oh well our secret weapon not including you Bentley." Carmen then said.
"I'm just saying." Bentley shrugged innocently. "But Player does pose a good question, based on how Carmen and Sly described the size of the mine they will have pulled half a billion dollars worth of gemstones from the mountain so getting them out unnoticed would be very difficult." Bentley studied his holo screens examining the gemstones and the location of the mine he got from Carmen.
"Bentleys right, you think it would be hard to get a ton of gems past all the party people down there." Ivy said.
"Yeah the truck they'd be moving them in would stick out like a sore thumb." Murray agreed.
In truth Sly was stumped too, if VILE went to all the trouble of mining the gemstones they ,would have to have, a means of slipping them out unnoticed. He looked through his binocucom to look for any signs, then quite suddenly when he gazed upon the parade floats it hit him in the face.
"Hey Carmen." Sly said getting her attention. "If you were trying to smuggle out half a billion dollars worth of gems stones whats the best vehicle to get them out without drawing suspicion?"
Carmen wondered about that but when she looked at the floats through her own Binocucom she began to see what her raccoon partner in crime was talking about.
"Something big, but disguised in a way to blend in." Carmen realised. "Say for example a parade float. Thats why they chose tonight, Carnival is the perfect distraction to use a parade float to move them." She then looks to Shadowsan. "The belly of the beast?"
"We both know that hiding in plain view is VILE's MO." Shadowsan agreed.
"And given the floats size it would be more than enough to store the gemstones inside." Bentley realised. "While all the while not drawing suspicion from the crowds its its inconceivable! Its like the Contessa's giant attack robot disguised as a water tower all over again!"
"Your never gonna let that go are you." Sly shakes his head smiling remembering how he thought the water tower in the prison the Contessa held him at wasn't a robot until he was proved wrong.
"Okay but one thing isn't clicking. The buyers are in Prague." Player showed a map on Carmens phone of their location and a route to Prague which is on the other side of the world. "VILE can't actually drive a parade float all the way to eastern Europe? Can they?"
"Well there'd only be two ways they could fly them out, but a parade float showing up at an airport to board a cargo plane would raise questions." Bentley devised.
"Yeah they might as well just tell them what they're doing, so if they're not using the air, they'd have to use. The sea." Sly realised.
"Yes that would be another way." Bentley agreed.
"Yeah but I doubt floats actually float on water, it sink in an instance." Ivy voiced.
Murray suddenly had a light bulb go off in his head. "Hey what if it could float, I mean parade floats have vehicles under them right, so what if their float can float on land or sea?"
Zack quickly picked up on the idea. "Oh you mean amphi cars like duck boats! Quack quack!"
"Yeah!" Murray agreed but Shadowsan had no idea what they were blabbing about.
"Are they making up words what are they talking about?" Shadowsan questioned. Carmen and Sly however just maintained impressed smiles.
"Hold on I see where they're going with this." Ivy realised. "VILE mined the gems way under there." She gestured to the Rio hillsides. "If get their booty across town and into the water they'd need a float that can drive on land and on sea."
"And using an amphibious vehicle is the best way since they can't use a conventional boat." Bentley realised. "And a Duck boat is the perfect vehicle to place a float onto." Bentley then looked at his holo screen bringing up some facts. "These duck boats as Zack calls them were built during World War Two, being used as vessels to transport cargo and troops." Bentley shared.
"Thats right Bentley." Player included. "In 1939 the axis powers Germany, Italy and Japan seized a lot of European cities by force. So America and England needed a way to take back occupied Europe."
"And these duck boats were the perfect way to do it." Zack added.
"They had six wheel drive and could float." Ivy added also.
"Which was perfect when they made landfall to storm the beaches of Europe with troops during the D-Day invasion of Normandy." Bentley added.
"After the war the army had a surplus of these floating tanks, so they sold them around the they're used as city tours, to haul visitors on land and water." Player finished.
"Zack how did you and Murray guess that?" Bentley asked.
"Thats easy Boston Harbours full of em." Zack said as he and his sister recalled seeing some of these floats back in their home town.
"Yeah not to mention we saw a few of them in Paris back home before the whole ClockLa thing." Murray added.
Carmen smiled impressed as she looked to Shadowsan. "If it quacks like a duck and floats like a duck." She smiled and Sly gave a slight chuckle at that.
Far below the Carnival celebrations went on through the night samba dancers danced on their floats. The crowds all but cheered, and among the crowd was the small family that Carmen and Sly had met in the Favelas earlier. Isabel was on her fathers shoulders as they danced to the music.
High above in the Favela's Carmen, Sly and Shadowsan kept a close watch. Previously they'd sent Zack and Ivy down to the harbour for scavenging as Sly knew they'd need a way to slip the gems out once they were recovered. Bentley and Murray stayed with the three thieves. Carmen looked at the floats from her Binocucom but as she looked away from the parade, she caught sight of something a float in the shape of a giant dragon with a castle on its back. Three guesses what it could be.
"We have a stray. And its a beast." Carmen said and Sly took a look through his Binocucom and saw it too.
"A dragon yep if that doesn't scream VILE I don't know what does." Sly realised as his partner took a photo through her Binocucom and sent it to Player and Bentley.
"Hm given its size its more than large enough to store the gemstones." Bentley said as he ran a scan on the image.
Players Room:
"Okay so VILE's gonna float or fly that thing all the way to Eastern Europe?" Player questioned.
"Players right even with the Duckboat underneath its has its limits I doubt it could make the full trip." Bentley surmised.
"Yeah it be in sink city." Murray agreed.
Carmen wondered that too but then she had a suspicion. "They must have a rondevu in the works."
Rio:
"Somewhere out there." Carmen looked out over the sea at where a possible rondevu could take place.
"It would have to be beyond Rio's water limits to evade the coast guard." Sly realised.
"My thoughts exactly, did you send Zack and Ivy scavenging?" Carmen then asked Player.
"Parade crew has their marching orders." Player replied.
"Right Bentley, Murray you better go join them in case they need help." Carmen said.
"Right." Bentley agreed.
"And Shadowsan its time for you me and Sly to engage in a little stealth 10…." Suddenly when they looked they saw their ninja comrade was nowhere to be seen. "One." She grumbled.
"Well thats ninjas for you." Sly said unsurprised.
"Hey Rioichi did that to us back in Feudal Japan." Murray remembered.
Meanwhile:
On the beach of Rio, a young couple were standing on the ever glowing moon of the sea. However their romantic moment was cut off by the arrival of a rather large looking shadow of a dragon. They looked and saw it was a dragon float they ran away as the float drove through the beach and into the water. As the light from the dragons head lit the way in the darkening night, on the castle part of the float were Tigress and Le Chevre with El Topo manning the helm. However he was nervous, not just about a certain Lady in Red and Raccoon thief showing up but also a certain Stealth 101 teacher gone rouge.
"And what if Shadowsan should return for us? I don't want a karate chop!" El Topo voiced.
Tigress just looked vindictive "He's gone from the dark side, to the red and ring-tailed side. Which means we means we have permission to teach Teach a lesson!" She said sheathing her claws with anticipation.
El Topo just gulped rather nervously, as he knew Shadowsan didn't go down so easily. Regardless Tigress and Le Chevre headed below deck.
"If you have any hesitation mona mi, just remember all those painful origami lessons." Le Chevre suggested given during Stealth 101 El Topo struggled with the Origami lessons most of all. So the mole looked back to the open sea. However little did they know they had a stowaway on board.
On the castle tower wall Shadowsan had managed to sneak aboard the float. He climbed the wall silently, so as not to, alert anyone, quietly leaping onto the top deck and snuck up to El Topo with every intention of taking him by surprise. Suddenly a flutter in the wind got his attention he looked and swooping in on their gliders was Carmen and Sly. They swooped in and landed a kick to El Topo knocking him off the helm and crashing into the dragons head getting Tigress and Le Chevre's attention.
Sly and Carmen landed next to Shadowsan who looked less than pleased. "Again with blowing my cover I was invisible to them!" He lightly scolded.
"Hey you ditched us pal!" Sly argued back but it was too late Tigress and Le Chevre already saw they had univited guests they growled as they hurried up to the deck.
"Yeah again you run off without a note?!" Carmen sided with Sly on this.
"I saw an opening, I thought I could save you the trouble." Shadowsan explained.
"No more saving us anything please we really need to talk!" Carmen then said.
"Uh guys, meanwhile." Sly pointed out and they looked to see Le Chevre leaping from the wall to the top deck and Tigress arrived up the stairs with her claws at the ready. The two glared at their intruders with snarling.
"Later." Shadowsan, Sly and Carmen said in unison. The three ran forwards to meet their opponents.
Le Chevre threw a fist only for Shadowsan to grab his arm then flipped him off the side of the tower and down to the ground crashing into a suit of armour on the lower floor. Le Chevre crouched on the ground as a sword landed right next to him. Shadowsan landed on the ground, and the VILE operative picked up the sword.
"Ha ha!" Le Chevre smirked as he readied his new weapon.
Shadowsan was about to reach for a sword held by another suit of armour but El Topo beat him to it and held the sword himself. "Ho ho!" The mole operative gloated.
Shadowsan found himself between the two VILE operatives who were armed with swords. Sly saw this from above so he decided to help as he looked at his cane.
As the two operatives stared their opponent down Shadowsan just stood with a mutual expression. "Look out below!" Called a voice Shadowsan looked up and falling into his hand was what seemed to be Sly's cane.
In truth as Shadowsan looked up he saw Sly had his cane he merely split it into separate canes. "You can thank me later." Sly called as his and Carmens attention turned to Tigress.
Shadowsan looked at the weapon and twirled it like a staff ready for battle. Le Chevre charged in sword first followed by El Topo, the master of stealth merely dodged Le Chevre's attacks then moving quickly Shadowsan used the cane hook to hook El Topo's sword moved round and pushed him towards Le Chevre but the goat operative dodged it as his partner hit the edge of the wall.
Le Chevre lashed at Shadowsan who dodged the attacks then blocked another with the cane and simply jumped and swatted Le Chevre into a wall with the canes blunt end. El Topo recovered and growled charging at the ninja master. However in that moment a boat was fast approaching the float.
High on the upper deck at the helm Tigress faced down Carmen and Sly with glaring eyes. Like daggers. Tigress readied her claws.
"Teachers pet!" Tigress growled as she lunged at the two super thieves and just dodged her slash crashing into the walls. Tigress was ready to strike at Carmen, but Sly blocked her attack with his cane.
"Hmm you seem upset Tigress, whats wrong found out that you didn't quite shred that exam as you thought you did?" Sly teased.
Tigress growled as she kicked Sly to the side and readied her claws to slice him to bits. Carmen saw her partner was in trouble, she suddenly noticed a loose brick from the battlement walls.
"Heh I guess we now know who was the better pick pocket, and I'll give you a hint it ain't you." Sly teased again.
Tigress just snarled at the Raccoon thief at her mercy. "Oh lets see how funny you are when your in pieces!" Tigress raised her claws but suddenly.
"Hey!" Called a voice and Tigress turned saw Carmen tossing a brick crashing into her face. Blinding her, Carmen performed a kick on the brick wall next to her and made several round house kicks firing bricks at Tigress blasting her back.
This gave Sly an opening quickly swatting Tigress to the side with his cane. The stripped thief growled as she lunged at Carmen with her claws slashing at the lady in red who dodged and blocked her attacks. Carmen bounced off the wall and performed a swing kick at Tigress who dodged it only for Sly to leap in slide under Tigress and tripped her up with his cane. She quickly recovered and slashed at Sly who leaped out of the way and landed next to Carmen.
Tigress lunged at them both and the two thieves leaped out of the way. Sly landed on the wall with a spire jump and Carmen made a ninja spire landing on the end of the wall facing the dragons head. Just then she noticed a boat heading in their direction she guessed instantly it was VILE's rondevu.
"Let me guess friends of yours?" Carmen asked.
Sly then noticed the boat too. "I'm guessing buyers for those gemstones you plucked?" He asked.
"Stick around and find out!" Tigress exclaimed as she slashed at Carmen only for her to dodge out of the way and Tigress simply crushed the bricks instead.
Far below Shadowsan, Le Cheve and El Topo fought but quickly dodged out of the way of the falling rubble. Shadowsan quickly used the cane hook to grab a shield from the still standing suit of armour before El Topo slashed it to pieces with his sword. He was about to attack Shadowsan when suddenly leaping from the sea.
"THUNDERFLOP!" El Topo looked up and saw slamming down on the float was Murray. The shockwave sent El Topo crashing into the wall.
"AW YEAH THE MURRAY IS IN THE HOUSE!" Murray yelled.
Le Chevre was so stunned he didn't see Shadowsan ram into him with the shield. Le Chevre turned his attention back to his former teacher and slashed at him with his sword.
El Topo recovered and looked at the hippo wrestler who stood ready to fight. "Lets rumble mole boy!" Murray challenged with a come here hand gesture.
El Topo charged at Murray sword first but the hippo dodged it then performed his aboriginal ball form and bounced out of the way. Then Murray slammed into the ground fist first sending out a shockwave knocking El Topo back. The mole operative quickly recovered and slashed his sword only for Murray to grab it and toss it aside then with one punch sent El Topo flying into the dragons neck with a loud bang. He hit it so hard it made a crack in the neck of the beast.
Le Chevre meanwhile was still fighting Shadowsan who blocked a sword strike with the cane. Suddenly they heard a loud crashing sound and saw from the crack a whole load of Alexandrite falling out of it.
"Oh so thats where that was?" Murray said surprised.
Le Chevre was so distracted he failed to block a knee strike from Shadowsan kicking his sword into the air which the ninja master quickly caught and aimed it at Le Chevre's neck.
El Topo got up only to see Murray standing over him cracking his fists and he saw his partner was at the mercy of Shadowsan. It seemed they lost so they raised their hands in surrender.
Shadowsan then looked at the cane. "While I question the raccoons training, I must admit his weapon is very versatile and effective." He said almost impressed.
Up top on the helm, Tigress slashed her claws at Carmen only for her to grab them in her hands and block her attack. Suddenly Tigress kicked her in the gut sending her slamming into the wheel of the ship. Tigress was about to attack only for Sly to slip in and block her claws with his cane and he kicked her across the floor. Tigress quickly recovered and delivered a roundhouse kick to the racoon thief sending him crashing into Carmen.
The two looked to see Tigress was heading towards them with every intention of slicing them to bits. However Carmen noticed the wheel and had an idea, and it wasn't long before Sly picked up on it as well.
"You thinking what I'm thinking." Carmen whispered.
"Ready when you are." Sly agreed.
Tigress leaped into the air and brought her claws down only for the two thieves to duck out of the way, and her claws struck the wheel instead. She tried to pull free only to find out she was stuck.
She tried and tried again to pull free but it was no good. Then suddenly. "We can help with that!" Tigress looked and was met by the round house kick and strike of Carmens foot and Sly's tail which swatted her off the deck through the dragons wing and splashed into the sea.
Tigress emerged from the water trying to stay afloat and coughed out the water. High above the two thieves looked victorious.
"Aw I guess cats really do hate water." Sly teased as he slung his cane over his shoulders.
"Nice move with the tail." Carmen complimented.
"Yeah its very rare that I do that." Sly then looked and saw Shadowsan and Murray had Le Chevre and El Topo handled, at fist and sword point.
"How about we give her some company." Carmen said as she swiftly turned the wheel and the movement sent Le Chevre and El Topo flying off the side of the ship and into the sea.
"Have a nice swim fellas!" Murray called.
The VILE dragon float reversed its course and headed back towards Rio harbour. Soon they were joined by Shadowsan and Murray. "What is it with you, me and nighttime boat rides?" Carmen asked.
"Yeah seems you two make a habit out of this." Sly agreed as Shadowsan handed him back his cane which he reattached to his other one. He noticed Murray was with him. "Hey Murray how'd you get here swim?"
"Nope." Murray shook his head and pointed to the front of the float and saw it was the team Van which was now in its hover mode thanks to Bentley's turtle genius was at the wheel of the van.
"Ahoy there!" Bentley called.
"Nice work guys!" Carmen called.
"This is far from over." Shadowsan cut in being the damp cloth on this victory. "We must find a way to transport half a million dollars worth of uncut gemstones without detection."
"Bentley?" Carmen called on the coms.
"Way ahead of you red, Players made the arrangements we are go to rondevu with harbour crew just follow me." Bentley called on the coms. While ahead Bentley drives the van back to the harbour.
"Then we head for the harbour." Carmen decided.
"Aye aye captain." Murray saluted.
So with that Carmen guides the dragon float towards the harbour. However it seemed the three VILE operatives had a pick up of their own. For from their rondevu speedboats poured out with VILE Agents at the wheel. They headed towards the three operatives.
"Hey! Over here!" Tigress called from the water while Le Chevre was waving for help.
"HELLLP!" El Topo cried as he was trying to stay afloat.
Meanwhile:
At Rio harbour the dragon float arrived into one of the ports where shipping containers were held. Now the team van was loaded onto the float at the back and Bentley was on top deck with Murray, Sly, Carmen and Shadowsan.
"Carm! Sly! Over here." Called a voice, they looked up to see Zack waving from the crane while Ivy was at the controls.
"Oh wait till you see what we've got in mind for a cover." Murray said excited.
"Okay Ivy bring it down!" Bentley called.
Ivy worked the crane controls with both hands and the crane winch lifted something out of one of the shipping containers. The group looked up at what the crane had lifted, Shadowsan had a raised eyebrow about this questionable move. While Sly and Carmen just smiled rather jokingly.
"Last years parade stock. They've got whole warehouses full of this stock here!" Zack called from the crane.
"Yeah completely the last thing those VILE bozos will expect." Murray joked. For the thing that was being loaded onto the dragon float was what was left of a duck float from last years parade. Ivy carefully worked the crane to lower the float onto it.
Shadowsan smirked as he recognised all too well what this move was. "Bait and switch." He said as Carmen and Sly smiled along with him.
"Eh an olden but a good'n." Sly agreed.
"Indubitably." Bentley concurred. The duck float was now fully attached to the dragon float completely destroying the wings.
A distance away the speed boats combed the harbour looking for the missing float. Meanwhile Tigress was on the com line with Professor Maelstrom and the rest of the Faculty to report what happened.
"Yes Professor, we can now defiantly confirm that Carmen, Sly and Shadowsan are working together." Tigress reported.
To say Maelstrom was angered was an understatement as he breathed his frustration. "How unfortunate."
Coach Brunt however had no problems voicing her grief as she picked up her own chair and slammed it across the room in angered frustration. The sounds of crushing and clanging metal could be heard behind Maelstrom while Dr M worked to clam her down.
"Brunt honestly those chairs don't come cheap you know!" Dr M exclaimed to her.
Professor Maelstrom had other things on his mind at the moment. "Now, would you care to explain to us how you can so quickly lose sight…OF A GIANT DRAGON!"
The three VILE operatives grimaced at that statement, it was clear that the Faculty were not the best pleased at all. Not only did they lose the gemstones but also the confirmation that Shadowsan was indeed colluding with the Cooper and Sandiego gang.
A distance away from them the dragon turned duck was now sailing away unseen. On the upper deck the crew were celebrating. Zack, Murray and Ivy were dancing in duck outfits doing a samba dance.
"Yeah shake it Murray!" Ivy danced.
"Told you the Murray knows the samba!" Murray danced shaking his hips.
"Samba samba samba quack quack!" Zack chanted as they danced. "Samba samba samba quack quack!"
"Do do do do do do do!" Ivy sung as well.
""Samba samba samba quack quack! I got two left feet!" Zack sung.
"Samba!" Murray breathed dramatically. Watching from the helm were Carmen, Sly, Bentley and Shadowsan who could only smile at the celebrations. As the lady in red steered the ship they looked to the horizon.
"Well apart from a few bumps in the road, I'd say this job went very well." Bentley noted.
"I'll say pal." Sly chuckled.
"And what do you suggest we do with a duck boat full of uncut gemstones?" Shadowsan genuinely asked with a smile.
"What this gang always does." Carmen said looking at the city and the lights from the Favelas ahead of them. "Give back to the community."
"And I have a pretty good idea of where to start." Sly smiled knowing what his partner in crime was thinking.
The following morning:
In the Favelas, a small red box stood in the home of a certain family. "I found it by the door." The mother said.
Isabel being the curious little girl opened the box. "Ooo what is it?" She asked.
"Isabel no we don't know where it came from." The father warned however what Isabel pulled out of the red box was a small rock.
"Its a rock?" She questioned.
The mother took the red box and found there was a small red piece of paper with a note inside folded in half. She looked inside it. "A bank account has been opened for a community fund." She read. She opened a white note with the numbers of the funds. What she saw made her gasp in shock dropping the box. The father looked and was equally shocked.
"That is a lot of money. Who is this from?" The father then asked. The mother looked and saw there was more to the note.
"A charitable foundation, Black Sheep & Ringtail Incorporated." The mother said surprised. Isabel looked closely at the rock, and saw there was a jewel inside it was Alexandrite. Isabel looked with a smile of happiness.
Elsewhere:
In the city at a beach side cafe at Copacabana, Sly now in his hologuise sat with Carmen in casual attire with Shadowsan at a cafe table. Carmen sipped on a cappuccino while they sat quietly.
The awkwardness was rather tense, after another minute Carmen broke the silence. "So here we are." She said.
"I suppose you are wondering what is next, as am I." Shadowsan then said.
"Well as a wise friend once said to me, its a small world for thieves like us." Carmen said and Sly smiled knowing she got that from him. "Just a matter of time before we cross paths again, trip each other up blow our cover."
"Yeah and the next thing you know the bad guys are making the quick getaway and we're at each others throats all over again." Sly agreed.
Shadowsan could see their point, and knew what they were proposing. "So you are suggesting that we…coordinate efforts?"
Carmen gulped at that statement, but Sly placed his hand on hers knowing he was with her. She smiled at that before turning to Shadowsan.
"Your knowledge of VILE runs way deeper than mine or Sly's we welcome your strategy." Carmen voiced to him.
"She's right you know, plus I'm pretty sure your Faculty buddies now have you on their most wanted list after helping us." Sly added.
Shadowsan was thinking all this over, in truth he had to admit the two did raise a valid point. If he did continue to walk his lonely path it would only be a matter of time before he crosses paths with the two thieves again on the same job. In doing so would clash with their plans, plus he too realised the power the Faculty had and could easily use ways to draw him out or find him. While he knew nothing of Sly or his skills he could tell he would protect Carmen as well as he did during her time at the Academy. So maybe he should stay with them.
Suddenly he caught a small piece of food in his hand, and looked to the obvious culprits. Zack, Ivy and Murray.
"They did it!" Murray pointed.
"He did it!" Zack and Ivy said at the same time while Bentley merely gave a face slap.
Shadowsan grumbled unamused by these pranksters. "I thought…"
"My crew my rules." Carmen interrupted him with her hand up. "No more disappearing acts we learn to communicate."
"Best do as she says she strict on that whole her crew her rules thing." Sly joked. "But don't worry the guys will grow on you after a while, plus I believe some people should not be underestimated."
Shadowsan was a little uneasy about the communication thing, but he could see she meant it. He was silent for a moment before he spoke.
"I was on the island living a lie, while you a child achieved the unthinkable, by forging your own path." Shadowsan said. "Yet ally yourself with another who like you forged his own path." He gestured to Sly. "You paved the way for me to follow in your footsteps." Carmen had a rather un certain look on her face but it turned to a soft look. Shadowsan then turned to her. "Without question it is I who am the student and you the master."
He bowed which told them he was on board, but Sly knew there was one thing Carmen was wanting to know. "Communication also means…no secrets." He said which had gotten the ninjas attention. "She deserves to know. What happened in Argentina?" He said.
Carmen was rather keen to know that answer too. Shadowsan breathed a sigh before he spoke. "I was a young operative for VILE sent to Argentina on a mission." He said. Carmen had a desperate and nervous expression she wanted answers and it seemed she was about to get them. "Bringing back an abandoned baby was not that mission. I wish I had more to tell you, but I do not."
Sly looked at Carmen and saw she had both a look of disappointment but happiness at the same time. Though she didn't have all the answers what was said to her seemed enough for her for now. Sly was glad but then took notice of something.
"You do see them?" Sly asked Shadowsan.
"Of course." The ninja thief caught on fast. Carmen pulled out some money from her shirt pocket and placed it on the table.
"Cappuccinos are on us." She said.
Within the crowds the people that the Raccoon thief had noticed was Agent Zari, Julia and Carmelita who was now in her holo disguise. They had arrived to the street across from the cafe.
As the crowds dissipated they had a clear view now. "Are you certain its them?" Agent Zari asked Julia and Carmelita.
From their vantage point, the two agents looked at the two thieves they could tell one was defiantly Carmen, and the other though in a holo disguise, Carmelita could tell it was Sly by his eyes and smile.
"Its them!" Carmelita said.
"Yes it is." Julia said.
"Then we take them." Agent Zari said as they ran out into the road, while at the cafe the three thieves looked at each other with the same knowing smirk.
Julia and Carmelita didn't take their eyes off their quarry. The three stood up and looked at the three agents. Sly simply winked and tipped his cap as a truck passed by and when it passed they were gone as were the rest of their crew.
Carmelita and Julia gasped in shock as they had disappeared without a trace. They arrived at the cafe table, Agent Zari found a certain calling card on the table. She opened it and found a note inside, it read.

Agent Zari growled in frustration as she crushed the card in her hand. She pulled out her phone and looked at a photo of the two thieves that her glasses had took. Julia and Carmelita looked curious as Zari zoomed in on Shadowsan and compared his face to the sketch of his face and after a scan it showed it was a match.
"Still think they aren't working with VILE?" Zari said then showing them the pictures. "That face belongs to one of the two operatives your former partner ID'd and if you ask me, he seemed pretty darn chummy with Carmen Sandiego and Sly Cooper."
Julia and Carmelita all looked with the same look of horror and disbelief. They just found out that the two master thieves were associated with one of the people Chase ID'd as his abductors. But what could this mean did they have something to do with what happened to him? Were they associated with VILE?
Carmelita just couldn't believe it either Sly part of VILE? She wouldn't believe it and she refused to believe it. This wasn't his style, but what of his new partner? Did she have an association with VILE or was this just a coincidence?They had so many questions without any answers.
Sly's POV:
On the outskirts of Rio the team van raced out of the city at top speed, with the whole gang inside. Murray was at the wheel while Zack was upfront with Shadowsan, Sly, Ivy, Carmen and Bentley in the back.
"Those ACME guys really need to improve their response times, but Carmelita as always was left with surprise that we gave her and Jules the slip again. We'd recovered the gemstones and they were sent to a good cause."
The crew sat in the van as they drove away from Rio, though Shadowsan was still a little unsure of the space in their vehicle. However his wasn't to question, and Carmen sure was glad he was on board. However Sly while glad he was on board, still felt a little uneasy like he was with the Panda King almost like he had a feeling there was more to the story than what the ninja told.
"This time though it wasn't just the six of us, we'd picked up a new member, Shadowsan and with him on our side we could easily turn the tables against VILE. I'll admit I was still a little weary and I've got an itching feeling that maybe theres more to Carmens story that what Shadowsan told us but for now I know its a comfort to her that he was onboard. One things for sure our team would never be the same again."
The scene then flashed to a team pose with the Cooper & Sandiego Gang but this time with Shadowsan in tow.

Back in Interpol Chase had just stamped a case file he was given and placed it on a large pile of case files that had been recorded. He was pleased he'd finished, only for yet another pile of case files to be placed on his desk much to his groaned as he took one case file and was about to write on it with his pen. However when he looked at it this did remind him of his ACME pen. He looked around to make sure no one was looking and when he clicked the top he then tried speaking into it.
"Hello? Hello, hello?" He said but looked to see his supervisor looking at him with a wired look. "Ah..thought it was my other pen heh heh."
So he simply clicked the pen and went back to the boring quiet life of a desk job. But who knows maybe he would learn something from this, and be the better for it. Time will tell.
Authors notes: And thats a wrap on this chapter, despite some rocky roads the gemstones are safe and going to a worth while cause for the people of Rio. And even better Shadowsan has now joined the gang, it'll take some getting used to but he should prove to be a valuable ally. However is he hiding more about Carmens past then he's letting on?
Now onto the next chapter taking us to the homeland of Rioichi Cooper, where a simple side visit turns into a revelation of a caper. Until then.
