"YOU DUNDERHEADS," Severus screamed sitting in the sidecar of a new motorbike that Sirius had recently bought and charmed to fly, with Sirius driving and James sitting behind him, "DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO ANNOY THOSE MUGGLE POLICEMEN?!"

James, Sirius and Severus had been out that evening to buy some items for James' upcoming wedding with Lily. Severus had been watching the motorbike as James and Sirius went to buy something. Somehow, those two had managed to annoy two muggle policemen, and now they were driving as fast as they could, with a muggle police car hot in pursuit.

Sirius excitedly cried out, "Come on Sev, be a sport!" James cried out, "Wheeee!"

As for Severus, he muttered, "If we get out of this, I swear you're going to get it!"

Suddenly, Sirius' expression became serious and he shouted, "Uh oh, two Death Eaters at 12 o'clock, coming in hot." Sure enough, there were two Death Eaters on brooms, coming straight towards them from the opposite direction.

James cried out, "Hang on, I've got this." He pointed his wand at the car and said, "Wingardium Leviosa." The car was lifted up into the air, and James and Sirius bent down, moving out of the way and causing the Death Eaters to crash into the car themselves. After lowering the car, the three of them headed back to Potter Manor as fast as they could.

As soon as they reached their destination, they alighted from the motorbike and walked up the path leading to the manor without a word. As soon as they reached the main entrance, suddenly, Severus rounded on James and Sirius and started accusing them.

"YOU IDIOTS," Snape yelled at them, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH WE ENDED UP RISKING? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR SENSE OF MATURITY?"

To Sirius he yelled, "YOU WERE ALWAYS THE SILLY ONE! HAVE YOU NO SENSE OF RESPECT? THE POLICE ARE ANGRY WITH US THANKS TO YOU, AND YOU ACTUALLY HAVE THE GALL TO JOKE ABOUT IT AND LAUGH?" Turning to James, he shouted, "AND YOU, JAMES, WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED TO YOUR MATURITY?! YOU SHOULD HAVE IN FACT, TRIED TO STOP SIRIUS FROM GETTING CARRIED AWAY AND TRIED TO RESOLVE THINGS INSTEAD OF SIMPLY DELIGHTING IN THIS WILD GOOSE CHASE YOU LANDED US IN! AND TO THINK YOU WERE HEAD BOY! WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED TO ALL THAT?! WHAT WOULD LILY SAY IF SHE HEARD ABOUT THIS?!"

James and Sirius hung their heads, quite ashamed of themselves. James said, "I'm sorry for what happened. I got carried away. I won't let it happen again. Sirius and I should have at least stopped and apologized to the policemen instead of simply running for it and enjoying the chase." Severus glared at them, pointing towards them as if they were a pair of ten year olds and said, "You'd better not do that again. I don't want to have to keep a close eye on you all the time in order to make sure you're responsible. I won't tell Lily about this, but you had better not misuse your talents, especially that muggle contraption that you, Sirius charmed."

Suddenly, Sirius went white in the face. He fell to his knees and joined his palms as if in prayer and said in a terrified voice, "Severus, please don't tell Amelia about this! She'll never fall in love with me if she hears about it!"

Severus stared at Sirius before declaring, "Fine, I won't tell her. But, you'd better behave yourself instead of acting like some silly dunderhead; otherwise, she will 'never' fall for you. Don't do this ever again! Do you understand?!"

"Yes Severus." Sirius replied.

With that, Severus strode into the manor followed by two ashamed figures, each determined to avoid making that kind of mistake ever again.

The date was now 15th August 1978. It had been more than a month ever since James, Sirius and Severus had started their auror training. By auror standards, their skills had become quite considerable. Normally, their training would have taken a total of three years and they would not have been required to be sent into battle after only one month of training but with the war on, due to the desperate need for aurors on the field, even trainees with considerable skills were being deployed to fight Death Eaters during their raids. So far, the three of them had not been deployed yet, but now that their skills were considerable according to Moody, they could expect to be sent to fight anytime soon.

That night, they had gathered for an order meeting with in Potter Manor to discuss an important matter. Dumbledore had not arrived yet. As they waited for him to arrive, suddenly, a patronus flew into the room where the meeting was being held and spoke in the voice of a young auror named Kingsley Shacklebolt, "We need help. Plymouth has been attacked and we are outnumbered. Requesting reinforcements at once."

Moody who was present turned to his three students and said, "Looks like your moment has finally arrived. Remember all that you've learnt so far, and always remember, CONSTANT VIGILANCE!"

With that, Moody, his three students as well as most of the other Order members present, including Marlene, who had recently joined, and Amelia, headed for Plymouth as fast as they could.

They apparated there and Severus for the first time, beheld the horrible scene of a Death Eater attack in front of him. Death Eaters were everywhere, using curses on Muggles randomly and even trying to strip some of them. Moody shouted, "Do not let yourselves be distracted! Constant vigilance! Attack!"

With that, the order members present, including Moody and his students, rushed into the fray.

Severus rushed forward as fast as he could and managed to save a muggle couple being tortured by casting stunners. Although the Death Eaters dodged, they were distracted enough to stop torturing the couple. Although the Death Eaters retaliated, Severus was able to maintain his ground against them with help from Edgar, who had joined the battle.

Meanwhile, in another part of Plymouth, Sirius, James, Lily and Remus were currently battling a few Death Eaters who had been torturing a muggle family. Spells flew everywhere and several curses were dodged. Just as they managed to stun two of them, there came a sudden shrill, sadistic voice calling out, "Oh, look who it is, ickle cousin Sirius, with itty bitty Mudblood Evans! Oooh, what a pity!"

They turned around to see Bellatrix Lestrange who had spoken, and her husband and brother in law, Rudolphus Lestrange and Rabastan Lestrange, approaching them.

Bellatrix turned to Lily and asked, "Oh, Lily Evans, how's mum and dad?"

Lily replied angrily, "Better now that they're about to be avenged!" and was about to raise her wand but Sirius grabbed her arm and stopped her saying, "No Lily! You don't know her like I do! She'll kill you!"

James said, "This is what she wants! And besides, she wants to distract us like this so that we won't be able to save others!"

Just then, Amelia and five aurors arrived. Amelia shouted, "Go! I'll fight them! Save as many Muggles as you can until Dumbledore gets here."

Sirius replied, "I'll stay and fight her! The rest of you, just go!"

James was about to protest but Remus said, "He'll be fine, and he's got Amelia. Let's go." Lily was about to protest but then suddenly, she saw some Death Eaters all fighting Severus some distance away and shouted, "Oh God! Severus is all by himself! He'll get killed easily! James, Remus, we have to help him!"

While Lily, James and Remus rushed off to help Severus, Sirius, Amelia and the aurors with them began to duel the Lestranges. It was a tough battle, as Bellatrix herself was a highly skilled duelist, and two aurors were felled down easily by her hand. Sirius fought against Bellatrix, both taunting each other as they dodged right and left. A few minutes later, a tall bald black wizard, Kingsley Shacklebolt arrived upon the scene and went to help Sirius against Bellatrix.

And then, just out of the corner of his eye, he saw Amelia fighting Rabastan, and a killing curse making its way towards her, having just emanated from Rudolphus' wand. Sirius rushed over to Amelia as fast as he could and pulled her down, just as the killing curse was inches away from her crying out, "Get down!" He pulled her down with him, and the killing curse whizzed over their heads. They got up and looked at each other for a moment before resuming their duel against the Lestranges.

Amelia, Kingsley, Sirius and a few more order members who had arrived to help them now had to hold their ground against the Lestranges and a few more Death Eaters who had joined the fight. And then, Amelia saw Sirius dueling Rudolphus, and Bellatrix about to cast a curse on him, and Sirius had not seen her.

Just as Bellatrix was about to curse Sirius, Amelia pointed her wand at Bellatrix and cried out, "Flipendo." Although Bellatrix dodged, it was just enough to distract her and her killing curse missed Sirius by an inch. Sirius saw the curse fly by before he saw Amelia fighting Bellatrix. He rushed over to help her, but just as he got to her, strangely, the Lestranges and the Death Eaters all disapparated.

Sirius and Amelia turned around to see Dumbledore, Moody, James, Lily, Remus and Severus, followed by a number of aurors and other order members. Moody approached them and said to Sirius, "I see you managed to hold your ground against the Lestranges. Good job." Amelia said, "But they managed to escape." Dumbledore replied, "We will surely defeat them one day, but for now, let us head back to Potter Manor while the obliviators handle the situation here."

That night, after all the order members had eaten their dinner at Potter Manor, Sirius accompanied Amelia on her way back to Bones Manor. As passed through the gates and stepped onto the driveway leading to the main entrance of the manor, Amelia turned to Sirius and said, "Sirius, you saved my life this evening when we were fighting the Lestranges. Thank you." Sirius replied, "You saved my life too. If it hadn't been for you, that killing curse would have most likely hit me. Thank you." Amelia smiled at him and replied, "Your Welcome. Good night."

Amelia turned and was about to leave when Sirius suddenly called out, "Amelia wait." She turned around and asked, "What is it Sirius? Is there something else that you want to tell me?"

Sirius hesitated for a moment before saying, "I just wanted to ask you something. Would you like to go out with me for dinner, maybe tomorrow night or something?" Amelia was surprised upon hearing that but simply smiled and calmly replied, "Well, I don't suppose I could say no to that, so yes. Not tomorrow though. How about this Saturday, at 7:30 or after the order meeting, if there is one?" Sirius beamed and replied, "Sure! I'll be looking forward to it."

He then exited the grounds and went back home to Potter Manor.

The rest of the week seemed to crawl by, but finally, Saturday evening came. That night, there was an order meeting, this time at Longbottom Manor. After the order meeting was over, Sirius and Amelia headed over to a small pizzeria in London that Lily quite liked and had pointed it out for Sirius earlier. They shared a margherita pizza and had some coffee, which Lily had said was really good.

After they had finished eating and had paid their bill with muggle money that Severus and Lily had made Sirius carry about with him, Amelia smiled and said to Sirius, "That was good! I quite enjoyed having dinner with you."

Sirius meanwhile, was fidgeting his fingers as he contemplated on what to say next. He finally said, "Thank you for coming out with me tonight. I'm so happy I got to have dinner with one of my close friends." Amelia simply smiled in response.

Sirius then slowly said, "By the way, you're quite beautiful. There's something I really want to ask you." Amelia blushed slightly and asked, "What?"

Sirius then pulled out a rose from his pocket and bent down on one knee. He held out the rose to Amelia, and looking as if he had been sent to his execution and was now begging for mercy, he asked in a terrified voice, "Amelia, will you be my girlfriend?"

Amelia looked at him and burst out laughing. Finally, she pulled him up and said, "Well, I quite like you, and you're a good man, so yes, I accept." Sirius' eyes lit up in delight and he cried out, "Yahoo" in joy. "But," she added sternly, "don't expect me to sleep in a bed with you until we are married, that is, if at all we do get married to each other." Sirius smiled and said, "The very fact that you have said yes is more than enough."

That night, when Sirius returned home, he was so hyper that he kept on jumping in joy, much to Severus' annoyance. James, Lily, and Peter just laughed at him while Remus shook his head in disapproval of Sirius' antics.
