"The Longbottoms," James yelled, "How could we not think about them! Neville was considered to be a possible chosen one! We thought Voldemort would target them as well! What if he's gone and attacked them?! We have to hurry! Anything could have happened to them by now!"

And before anyone could stop him, James ran out of the hospital wing, and was followed by Severus yelling, "James, I'm coming with you!" Sirius and Remus followed them, Remus muttering, "James, are you really that reckless?! We're coming with you to make sure nothing happens to you or Lily will be even worse than a werewolf during the full moon!"

A few minutes later, Longbottom Manor…

Bellatrix was standing over Frank who was lying on the ground on his back, writhing in pain. Alice was on his left, also writhing in pain. Nearby, Rudolphus, Rabastan and a masked Death Eater were standing, wands at the ready for torture.

Bellatrix yelled, "WHERE IS THE DARK LORD?!"

Frank slowly but surely declared, "I'm not telling you anything!"

"Crucio," Bellatrix cried out, subjecting Frank to white hot pain.

She turned to Alice and yelled, "TELL ME! WHERE IS THE DARK LORD?!"

Alice painfully but determinedly replied, "I won't tell you anything!"

Rudolphus became very angry and came closer shouting, "Crucio!"

Alice and Frank screamed out of pain. Bellatrix and the others had come looking for the Dark Lord, and they had decided to attack the Longbottoms to extract information which they had about him. They had been crucio-ed multiple times already for refusing to say anything.

All of a sudden, they all heard a voice yelling, "LEAVE THEM ALONE BELLATRIX LESTRANGE!"

Bellatrix turned around to see James standing nearby at the entrance of the large wide hallway they were in, along with Sirius, Severus and Remus.

She cackled loudly before suddenly yelling in anger, "HOW COULD A BABY DEFEAT THE DARK LORD?! WHERE IS HE?!"

Severus declared, "We will tell you nothing!"

Bellatrix laughed again before crying out, "Attack!" and a fierce battle began.

This time, James took on Bellatrix himself, Severus took on her husband, and Remus and Sirius began to duel Rabastan and the fourth Death Eater together.

Unlike Sirius, James did not taunt Bellatrix, but fought her with a determined expression on his face. Although Bellatrix was a fierce duelist, James who was refreshed now managed to dodge all her spells using his Quidditch reflexes.

"Avada Kedavra," Bellatrix cried out.

James dodged crying out, "Reducto!"

Bellatrix managed to avoid that.

"Bombarda"

"Incendio"

"Serpensortia"

"Vipera Evanesca"

"Diffindo"

"Stupefy"

And so they went on.

A little while later, Bellatrix began to laugh like a demoness. Pretending to sound sweet, she spoke, "Oh, how's your little Mudblood whore doing? And how is your itty, bitty, baby Potter?"

James growled, "You will never mention my wife or my son ever again. And her name is Lily!"

Bellatrix cried out, "Avada Kedavra!"

James instantly moved bending low towards the right and from below, cried out, "Fio Somniculosus!"

A violet bolt of light shot out from James' wand just after a green bolt of light shot out from Bellatrix's wand. Bellatrix's spell missed. James' spell, however, did not.

It hit her full in the chest and she slumped down to the floor, a shocked expression on her face which had manifested itself when she had realized the she would be hit a split second previously.

Seeing his wife slump to the floor defeated by James, Rudolphus let out a cry of horror. Severus took advantage of the moment and began to fire hex after hex at Rudolphus. Finally, he was struck by a stunner from Severus and tied up by James.

Meanwhile, Remus and Sirius were fighting like heroes inspired against Rabastan and the fourth Death Eater. Rabastan lunged forward in desperation upon seeing his brother and sister in law unconscious, straight into the line of fire. Two stunners from Remus and Sirius hit Rabastan in the chest and he fell down, unconscious.

The remaining Death Eater turned on his heel and began to run for it. Remus and Sirius pursued him but he jumped out of a window nearby and escaped by flying the way Death Eaters do, leaving a trail of black smoke behind him.

Sirius cried out, "I can't believe he got away!"

Remus said, "We'll get him later, let's go help James and Severus. We've got to make sure Neville's ok."

Sure enough, Neville was in the nursery nearby, crying when he was found. As Remus and Sirius arrived, James came out of the nursery holding Neville. Suddenly, they heard sounds nearby, and pulled out their wands only to find themselves facing Dumbledore and a team of aurors.

After a few security questions and answers, Dumbledore cried out, "James, what happened here? Are the Longbottoms alright?"

Remus replied, "Neville's ok, but Frank and Alice are in pain. I think we should get them to St Mungo's immediately."

Dumbledore replied, "The Cruciatus curse wasn't it? Now there's one person who I'm sure would have…"

He suddenly went silent, seeing Bellatrix's unconscious form, and opened his mouth in amazement.

"Who did this?" Dumbledore asked.

Severus looked at James and replied, "James defeated Bellatrix himself."

James added, "You took down Rudolphus, and Remus and Sirius got Rabastan."

An hour later, the Marauders were back in Hogwarts in the infirmary.

Lily asked, "Severus did something happen to anyone? Please tell me everyone's ok."

Severus responded, "Frank and Alice were tortured several times by those Death Eaters. According to the healers, if we had been two minutes later, they would have had to be declared insane for life."

Lily gasped in horror and said, "Then it's a good thing you boys rushed off when you did. Poor Neville! How is he?"

James spoke up, "He's ok. He's with his grandmother right now."

Lily, Amelia and Marlene all breathed sighs of relief.

Sirius continued, "The Lestranges are all in jail now. And you won't believe it, but James took down Bellatrix himself!"

James added, "And Severus got Rudolphus. Remus and Sirius took down Rabastan."

Lily's eyes widened as she heard that. Her husband had just faced Voldemort's most dangerous follower and defeated her in combat! She spoke, "James, is it really true?!" Severus replied, "Yes it is."

Lily said, "Then my parents' deaths have been avenged! Voldemort is weakened, as good as dead and Bellatrix will soon be in Azkaban!"

Amelia looked at Lily and spoke, "And our children shall be safe!"

Marlene spoke, "They'll be able to live a happy childhood, one which we shall give them!"
