Unsurprisingly given their age difference, Draken and Mitsuya presented a year earlier than everyone else. As usual, nobody particularly reacted much when Draken resurfaced after being MIA for a few days with a nonchalant; "so I guess I'm an Alpha now."

Mitsuya's similar Alpha presentation didn't warrant much of a reaction either, aside from Pah's lame jab; "I'd have thunk with ya home-making skills you'd be a shoe-in for an Omega."

"Fuck that," Baji grinned, "dude's better off a Beta, with how much he doesn't give a shit about anything." Mitsuya simply rolled his eyes and flipped the two off without a word. He almost fell face-first when a pair of arms wrapped around his shoulders, someone jumping onto his back.

Automatically catching the weight, Mikey's soft chuckles sounded by his ear. "Obviously our Mitsuya is a total macho-man on the inside! Hahaha!"

The following year, Pah was first to present. He kept the trend going and emerged as another Alpha; chest puffed and strutting like an overcompensating peacock for a whole week until Mikey got annoyed and kicked his dumb ass across the playground.

A couple of months later, it was Baji's turn to disappear for a few days, and the others started taking bets on whether or not their streak would get broken. Almost everyone was convinced they'd get an all-kill Alpha squad, but Mikey was adamant that someone had to be different.

Statistically speaking, Mitsuya agreed that it was unlikely to have everyone in their group present as Alphas, but Baji shared no Beta or Omega traits and he really couldn't see the boy present as anything else. If the order had been turned around, he understood if perhaps Pah or himself had presented as Betas, but they didn't.

Not to mention, among the fighters around the neighbourhood, Alphas represented the overwhelming minority. At least for their age. They'd heard of older delinquents who were more varied in presentations, but had yet to meet any.

The group was both pleased and disappointed when Baji returned and took one look at their anticipative faces, huffed and drawled, "Alpha". Draken, Mitsuya and Pah all immediately turned and outstretched waiting hands to Mikey, who pouted and stormed off, to Baji's confusion.

"He bet us a dorayaki each that you'd present as anything but an Alpha," explained Draken.

Amused, Baji trotted off after their little spitfire and clapped a hand on the smaller boy's shoulder, "sorry Mikey, I woulda tried if I could."

"Don't be stupid," Mikey rolled his eyes. "You can't decide on your presentation." He glanced over at Baji who just shrugged casually, Mikey letting out an amused huff at his best friend's antics.

It neared the end of the year by the time Mikey was the final piece missing in their group. The other boys passed the time wondering if they should bet on his presentation, but like last time, nobody could see Mikey presenting as anything but another Alpha.

"I'll bet a Mikey Nuclear Kick that he's not an Alpha," Baji confidently states. The others turn to him, stunned.

"How the fuck do you bet a kick?" Pah asked.

"You're nuts, Mikey has the most Alpha-ness out of all of us," Draken shook his head.

"Obviously he meant he'd take one of Mikey's kicks to the head if he loses," Mitsuya responded to Pah.

Nodding, "yeah, and if you guys lose, you all get kicked by Mikey," Baji smirked.

"Yer sure are confident for something that's probably got a 0.0001% chance of happening, Baji," Draken drawled. "What part of Mikey do you think is gonna win out in his presentation?"

Sitting up straighter, Baji sniffed haughtily. "Well, as Mikey's best and oldest friend, I think he has plenty of non-Alpha qualities."

"Oh, here we go," Mitsuya groaned.

"He could be a Beta because of how unaffected he is by anything. You ever really see him get angry or emotional? Not really, and hell, that's scary as fuck sometimes." Baji was gesturing and rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Though he also always makes us do his dirty work, which I guess is basically like wanting to be spoiled, which is a total Omega trait. Not to mention…

Only a couple of days later, Mikey stumbled into their usual playground hangout spot, yawning and rubbing a hand through his hair. The moment the others spotted him, they leapt up and dashed over. "Well?" Pah near shouted in anticipation.

"Huh?" Mikey blinked up at him, still bleary eyed. Both Draken and Baji, who were most familiar with having to wrestle a sleepy Mikey in the morning, were keenly familiar with that look.

"He's asking what you presented as," Mitsuya explained flatly. "We took bets."

At that, Mikey's eyes cleared up, "oh? What's the bet?"

"I bet them all one of your Nuclear kicks that you broke our Alpha streak!" Baji proclaimed proudly. At Mikey's confused frown, he elaborated, "meaning if I'm right, you get to give each of them one of your signature knockout kicks!"

At that, a sharp, sly smile curled Mikey's lips and sent a shiver of dread down each other boy's spines. "I'm an Omega," said Mikey, winding an arm around Baji's waist, "so, which one of you's going first?"

The other three boys, frozen from his admission, instinctively took a step back at the menacing killer intent emanating from Mikey. Pah could swear he saw the grim reaper standing right behind Mikey in that instant, before he turned tail and ran as fast as he could.

"Wh—Pah!" Mitsuya called after him, only for his jaw to drop when on his other side, Draken had also made a run for it. His heart almost leapt out of his throat when a hand landed on his shoulder, Mitsuya turning to see a smiling Mikey.

"Well done, Mitsuya," Mikey praised him like he would a puppy, "I'll go easy on you since you're not a coward. Can't say the same for the other two though." Mitsuya gulped and could only close his eyes and pray for a swift death.

Unsurprisingly, my weird as routine meant I decided 4am was the perfect time to start writing this. Well then.

P.S. I did have a list of 'Omega traits' for Mikey that I didn't end up including. Such as his affectionate/clingy nature, sweet tooth, possessiveness, stature, the automatic protectiveness most people get of him, etc.
