Santana Lopez's Perspective:

I wake up to the smell of bacon and the sounds of laughter. I, however, would like them to all shut up. It's too loud and I'm not ready to be awake. I even tried putting the pillow over my ears. IT GOT LOUDER! I stomp to the hall restroom to quickly brush my teeth with one of the newer toothbrushes under the sink. After washing my face and stretching, I journey into the kitchen to see what all the commotion was about.

"Looks like someone's up. I made pancakes and bacon for breakfast!" Arizona smiles brightly.

I grumble, unable to form words at the moment, sit on a stool at the bar and place my head down on the cool surface.

"Aw, you're so much like Callie. You two even grumble the same!"

Speaking of the devil, Calliope turns the corner, already dressed for the day, "What's wrong with you," she asks, poking me in the head.

"Bubbles the clown is being too damn loud with your child and woke me up." I respond, lifting my head up to peak at Callie and Sophia, "She looks like you."

It amazes me how someone you thought you knew could just turn out to be a completely different person. I mean yeah, I figured she was into vaginas, but still. She's got a whole family. She's apparently an awesome ass surgeon judging by all the awards in the living room. I mean my aunt's kinda fucking awesome...I just don't want to fuck it up for her. She doesn't need me showing up like this.

"One, don't call her a clown. Two, I know right, so cute! And three, time for our conversation."

"I don't even have coffee in me, yet, can't it wait?" I try to push it off, but Arizona sets a plate of food and a mug of coffee in front of me, "Thanks."

"Alright, so what happened?" Callie asks me.

Turning in the stool and sitting fully up, I look at her, "Well, it started when I was tutoring my best friend Brittany…"

"Sanny, I don't get it. Why can't I just get someone else to do my work for me?" Britt asked, laying down on my lap.

We were sitting on the couch Tuesday for our usual tutorial sessions. See, Brittany was failing most of her classes and just barely passing the others. While, I was in almost all AP or honor courses passing with A's. Her mom, Whitney found out and decided that if she couldn't bring up her grades she'd have to quit the cheer team. Thus, me volunteering to tutor her every Tuesday and Thursday.

"Britt-Britt, I'm sure that would be fine for a second, but some of this stuff you'll need in the long term." I responded while stroking the blonde's hair lightly.

"But I'll have you in the long term, so what's this for?" She asked once more, sitting up on the couch and out of my lap.

I missed her warmth immediately.

"You don't know that. You don't know what the future could hold. Of course, I want to be with you forever, but if something happens to me I'd like to know that you would be okay," I responded with a smile as I reached out to grasp her hand.

"Nothing's gonna happen to you, Sanny. And if something does, I'll take care of you! That way we can stay together!" She exclaimed.

And I simply couldn't hurt her feelings so I gave into her childlike notion and responded, "Yeah, Britt, we'll stay together."

"Awesome, can we take a break then?"

"Sure, I guess, wanna watch Maleficent, again," I asked knowing that was her favorite movie.

"Yes!"

After setting up the movie and pressing play, Britt and I cuddled up on the couch. About thirty minutes in the blonde was almost fully laying on top of me. She looked at me and I looked back. Then we were just staring at each other. And then…

"…she kissed me. And of course I kissed her back. But y'know how lucky I am, Papi chose that exact moment to walk in. Next thing I know Britt's gone home, Papi is yelling and...uh yeah I get kicked out." I finish my story lamely.

Okay, so I definitely left out the part about Papi slamming me into the kitchen floor and repeatedly punching me. I also may or may not have left out the part where he decided he'd try to fix me himself. I also left out the part where Mami got home later and didn't even try to stop him from kicking me out. But it's fine!

"Aw, Santana!" Arizona cries, she literally cries, and pulls me into a hug.

"Get off of me, Bubbles!" I say, but make no move to push her away. I mean a hug is a hug.

"And what about the bruises?" Tia questions from the other side of the counter with her arms folded.

I knew she'd be disappointed in me. I should have fought harder to stay. I should have never come here. This lady barely even knows me anymore, what the hell was I thinking? She doesn't want me. Nor does she need this kind of trouble. She has a whole family now! A wife, a daughter, and that weird guy across the hall. I mean she has her own baby daddy for christ sake!

"That's nothing…" I look down as if the counter I'm sitting in front has suddenly become the most interesting thing in the world.

"Santana Marie Lopez, who the hell gave you those bruises? And tell me the rest of what happened." She commanded and questioned in a firm voice. Even Arizona, who was pulling away from our hug, jumped a bit.

"P-Papi was really mad..."

"Qué diablos es esta Santana ?! Esto es lo que eres ahora, eh? RESPONDE CUANDO HABLO CONTIGO MALDITO!" My father's loud voice yelled from the front door as Brittany and I scramble away from one another.

"Britt, go home." I spoke to the blonde who nodded frantically and ran past my father out the door.

"Papi, no es lo que parece!" I try to deny it, knowing his reaction to who I am wouldn't be pretty. (Daddy is not what it seems)

I don't know what made him switch to English...maybe it's because everything sounds so much more harsh…"Oh, so you weren't just kissing that blonde? Eh, you think I'm stupid, Santana?!"

"No, Papi, lo siento! I'm-" I got cut off by him before I could finish my apology, "DON'T!"

Next thing I know he's rushing towards me and I'm rushing the other way. He chases me into the kitchen and in that moment all I could think was how dumb I am. There's only one door in the kitchen...and he was in front of it.

"I will...I will NOT tolerate that in my household! Goddammit, Santana, that is a sin! So what are you gay now? Eh, you sucking that blonde bitch's cli-" I cut him off as hot tears stream down my face.

"Stop, stop, stop! I am sorry that it makes you uncomfortable, but it is who I am. And I am tired, Papi, I am so tired of hiding myself to make you more comfortable. And don't talk about Brit-" Like a child at the library or a dead man six feet below, I am silenced as my father's hand meets my wrist and I'm pulled down.

I scream out in pain when my back connects with the floor beneath me. And suddenly the weight of my world was literally on top of me. More screams rip their way out of my throat when his fists slam down onto my abdomen over and over. At that point I had no idea who that man was and where my father had gone.

"Sube a tu cuarto y no salgas hasta que te llame," he spat in my face and I scrambled to pick myself up off the floor. (Go up to your room and don't come out until I call you)

"Later…h-he was dr-drunk and...came u-up to my ro-room and tried to…fix me and when that didn't work, when I told him that I wouldn't change myself f-for him, he kicked me out," I concluded my story, biting my lip and looking down so they can't see the unshed tears.

"Santana go put some pants on then take Sophia over to Mark, Arizona and I are gonna have a quick chat," Callie said in such a harsh tone that I noticeably flinched.

I get up out of my seat and quickly head to my room. A few minutes later I come back in, with pants, and move to pick up a sleeping Sophia out of her highchair.

Finally looking up, I can see Arizona wiping tears off of her face and I can't stop the words from coming out my mouth before, "Why are you even crying?"

For a moment she just stands there shocked, but she responds, "Because you got hurt really bad."

"I don't understand…you don't know me, though."

"Doesn't matter, that should have never happened to you. And I'm sorry you had to go through that," she states and the tears that she just wiped away come back tenfold.

I nod back and she walks over, pulling me into her warm embrace once more. This time it's more gentle, probably because Soph is still in my arms, but I don't say anything. I just enjoy her hug until she lets go. I miss the calming sensation immediately, but I know it won't be the last hug I receive from her. Finally, I do as I was told and walk over to Mark's. I think Arizona cares, so if she does then maybe Callie will, too, and I'll be allowed to stay?

Calliope Torres's Perspective:

Almost as soon as Santana closes the door, I burst into tears. My little niece, my baby, my Santa bear got hurt by that monster because she's different! I feel Arizona's arms wrap me up in her warmth and I know she's talking, but I can barely register what she is saying. Santana deserves so much better. God, he tried to fix her. What the hell did he do to my baby?

I take a moment to compose myself in my wife's embrace before stepping back and asking, "Can she stay? S-She's got nowhere else to go an-and she came to me. Zona she c-came to m-"

Unable to listen to my attempt at speaking Arizona responds, "I know, I know," before pulling me back into a hug, "She can stay. We'll figure this out as a family, all five of us."

"What about her parents, though, even if she stayed we can't put her in school without parental consent and we don't have the rights to her guardianship."

"Don't worry about that, okay? I'll have to make some calls, but my dad has a lawyer friend and considering I saved her daughter's life a while back, I'm sure she'd be more than willing to help."

"Okay...," I relented.

We agree on a few more things like schedule changes, extra expenses, possible therapy for Santana, etc. before we walked over to Mark's to retrieve the children. When we entered the apartment we were treated to an amusing sight of Mark and Santa playing video games with Sophia cheering them on from the floor.

"Aye, Lopez, quit cheating!" The older man yells from his position on the couch.

"It's not cheating if the game lets you do it, it's using your resources," the younger brunette chirps back with a smile.

"Cheater," Mark grumbles and throws his controller down.

"Sore loser," Santana laughs as she bends down to play with Sophia, "Your Papi's a sore loser, isn't that right, So-So!"

"Right!" Sophia agrees even though she's not sure what she agreed to.

Arizona squeezes my hand in reassurance as I fake a cough to make my presence known, "Santana you can stay-" I start, but my niece squeals and runs over to hug Arizona and I, "-but with rules!"

"Whatever you say Tia Callie and Tia Bubbles. Thank you," comes the light response.

"Tia Bubbles?" Arizona questions her newfound title.

"Yeah, you married my aunt which makes you my other aunt. Unless you want me to call you Tio Bubbles?" Santana replies, letting go of the warm embrace. "No thanks, I'm good." The blonde laughs.

"Alright, gang, as cute as this is we need to head in now or we'll be late for work and Sophia will be late for school," Mark critics as we all head out the apartment, I speedily grab Arizona and I's things from our apartment then we head to work.

Dios mio, this will be interesting, but I guess that's just how families work.
