31. Chapter 31

Naruto and his crew of beautiful young women were up on the bridge of the Invictus. They had watched quietly as Hinata had taken off from the docking bay, and then skilfully guided the huge spacecraft through the canyons underneath the vast shipyard, until finally she had them soaring away into the upper atmosphere of Ashana.

"I got kind of used to having Ashana as our base of our operations," Tenten said wistfully as the arid reddish-orange planet's surface grew small behind them on the holographic display in the bridge. As they left orbit, the planetary map was replaced by the system map, casting a soothing yellow glow over the bridge from the representation of the Ashana star.

"You seemed to be very popular amongst the Ashanath engineers," Fu observed, glancing at the ravenette and offering her a friendly wink.

"I think Tenten just got used to being followed around by adoring minions," Hana joked good naturedly.

"What's that like Naruto?" Hinata asked innocently.

"I'm sure you do," Hinata smiled at him affectionately.

"So XO, how long until we reach Epsilon-Eridani?" Naruto asked, adeptly changing the subject. "I'm curious to meet the potential in-laws," he added looking at Hana and smiling.

"Potential?!" the Latina exclaimed. "So I've given you my virtue and you don't have immediate plans for us to wed?" she gasped in mock horror.

"You loved every minute of it!" Hinata laughed gaily, the wonderful sound echoing around the bridge.

"Ok, that much is true," the brunette confessed, with a lovely smile on her face.

"To answer your question, Naruto, we should be there in just over two days' time. We'll reach Jericho at around three in the afternoon in the timezone where Hana's family live," Hinata clarified, looking up at the holographic quadrant map that displayed their flight path out of Grey Space, and back to Terran Federation territory.

"How do you know that?" Hana asked curiously.

"I reviewed your service records before I recruited you to the team. Your parents were listed as your next of kin, complete with contact details," the bluenette explained, before activating the Tachyon drive and sending the Invictus leaping into hyper warp.

"Ah I see, well remembered," the brunette replied, surprised at the extent of Hinata's excellent memory.

"Well, we have a few hours to kill before dinner," Naruto began, "Do you want a rematch?" he asked Hana eagerly.

"Still smarting from losing the last round?" Fu teased him gently.

"Oh yes, I need to re-establish who's the top dog once again." he grinned with anticipation.

"Any plans, Fu?" he asked, turning to the Nymph.

Laughing, they all left the bridge, and then returned to their quarters to get changed out of the formal outfits they had been wearing for the statue unveiling ceremony. Naruto got dressed in his sparring gear and left the walk-in-wardrobe to meet up with Hana, who was waiting for him in the corridor outside his room. "I believe you're doing the right thing, I just wanted to understand your reasoning," Fu said calmly. "Like you, I've seen what he's like during his rages... there's a raw power there that was frightening to witness."

"I know what you mean, but I trust him unreservedly," Hinata replied earnestly. "Both of those times he was just trying to protect me, and I know what he's like, how he thinks... I just can't see him even thinking about hurting any of us."

Fu nodded, looking thoughtful, before her lips curved up in a teasing smile. "So, back to why you wanted me here in bed with you," she said coyly, glancing at the other girl with a raised eyebrow. She walked out quietly into the absolute stillness of the bridge, and glided down the slope to the comforting familiarity of her tactical station. She had spent dozens of hours here, poring over system maps while hunting for a pirate base what seemed like an eternity ago now, and she found the peace and tranquillity up here conducive to deep thought. She started idly flicking through system maps, following the glowing green trail back to their departure point, back at the Ashanath homeworld. She sat bolt upright and leaned over the console, rapidly pressing buttons. The system map disappeared, and a few moments later, it was replaced by the holographic representation of Ashana's surface, that Tenten had brought up when she had shown them the results of the active scan. Hana pressed another button and displayed the scan results, showing hundreds of subterranean installations surrounding the underground Progenitor research facility, including the dozens of massive planetary defence lasers that were built into the ground.

"That's it," she said quietly with grim satisfaction, leaning back into her chair and tapping her chin thoughtfully.

Glancing over at the ship's chronometer that was built into her console, she realised with a start that she was late for dinner. She had got so wrapped up in solving this mystery, that she had completely lost track of time. Jumping to her feet, she jogged to the grav-tube, hoping that Naruto wouldn't be cross with her for getting distracted and turning up late. "They've assembled a vast amount of firepower to protect that site, and they have the capability to take out dreadnought class ships without too much trouble. It got me thinking about exactly what they're protecting down there in that bunker."

"Maybe they think the Progenitors will come along and try and wipe out any clues to their existence?" Tenten offered thoughtfully.

"Based on what we saw, I don't think the Progenitors gave a crap what people knew about them," Naruto replied, his brow furrowed. "They struck me as being too powerful to care."

"There were dozens of ancient relics depicting the Progenitors in that vault," Fu noted, "I'd agree with Naruto: they didn't seem to be too thorough about hiding their tracks."

"So if we agree that the Progenitors are a bunch of murderous tyrants, with absolutely no interest in stone pictographs; no offence intended, Naruto..." Hinata grinned at him teasingly.

"None taken," he replied with a laugh.

"...Then, what else could be hidden in that facility beside a bunch of stones, that the Progenitors could actually be interested in?" Hinata conjectured.

"Something that the Ashanath have spent vast expense to conceal and defend," Hana continued for her.

"And that has them absolutely terrified," Hinata finished, as a deathly hush descended over the room.

They all exchanged worried glances, thinking over what might possibly be hidden at the facility, before Naruto finally broke the silence.

"The Ashanath had control of a vast area of space for thousands of years, so who knows what they could have discovered," Naruto pondered out loud. "Unfortunately, it seems they don't trust us enough, or at least me in particular, to share information on whatever it is they found."

"Should we go back and ask them about it?" Fu asked curiously.

"I don't think it would do any good," Naruto said, shaking his head. "We left on excellent terms and they still kept it a secret."

"I'd be willing to bet good money it's Progenitor tech of some kind," Tenten said wistfully.

"Not this again!" Hinata laughed and rolled her eyes. She held Tenten's hand and led her over to stand in the mirrors, so that he could admire her astonishing athletic body from all angles. "Look at her, she looks smoking hot!" Hinata exclaimed.

Tenten grinned while posing for him. "You do as well of course, beautiful!" she said to her bluenette friend.

"Thank you kindly, sexy!" Hinata replied, blowing her a kiss.

She turned to look at Naruto, and her face grew serious. "Both Tenten and I had a tough start growing up as orphans on Karron. Neither of us were in great shape physically, and we both had our fair share of mental scars too. You gave me about as thorough a makeover as it's possible to do, and there's not a single thing I'd change. I just feel thankful every day that you picked me to do it with," she said honestly, staring into his eyes, so that he could see the truth in her words.

Tenten walked over to him as well and took his hand. "She's much better with words than I am, but never, ever, regret the changes you made to me. There's not a thing I miss about the old me. She was a scarred and scared, lonely little girl, and I think you're totally awesome for changing all that." she said earnestly.

"Thanks girls," Naruto said, pulling them both in for a hug.

They all started to get dressed again, but Hinata paused when she noticed Naruto's Invictium sword that was resting against the weapon rack at the end of the room. She looked at it for a moment, before continuing to put on her clothes.

"You know you need to get some training on how to use that, right?" She said to Naruto, pointing at the black glimmering blade.

"If you're going to start charging twelve foot tall, four armed behemoths, with the intention of swinging that at them, you better get good, and fast!" she admonished him.

"Yes, ma'am!" he said, snapping her a sharp salute.

"I'm serious, Naruto," she said firmly. "I'd never forgive myself for making that for you, if it ends up getting you killed."

"Ok honey, I promise. I'll try and get some training before I think about taking on anyone dangerous in a swordfight," he replied sincerely.

"Good boy," she said affectionately, stepping up to him and planting a loving kiss on his cheek.

They all finished getting dressed and then went down the grav tube to deck nine, walking down the corridor to the double doors that led into the cargo bay. Naruto hit the button, and the doors slid open quietly. Glancing around the room, it took them a few moments to find Hana. She was up on one of the service gantries, securely attaching a long length of reinforced steel cabling to one of the robotic loading arms.

"Hey Hana, what are you up to?" Naruto greeted her warmly.

"Oh, hey guys!" she called down to them in reply. "I'm nearly done!"

"Done with what?" Tenten asked curiously.

With one last straining pull, Hana finished securing the cable, before she turned to walk along the gantry and darted down the steps to join the others.

"You'll see in a minute," she smiled excitedly. "Now all we need is Fu!"

*Fu, could you come and join us in the cargo bay please?* Hinata thought to the Nymph, who was still frolicking in the swimming pool.

*I'll be right there!* Fu replied immediately, and surged out of the water, landing gracefully on the side of the pool.

"She'll be down in a minute," Hinata smiled contentedly.

"You look like you had fun," Hana smiled at the bluenette girl, taking note of Hinata's heavily rounded tummy.

"Just refining the recruitment process," Naruto said playfully, causing the other two girls to smirk.

"For when you try and convince Sakura to join?" Hana asked innocently.

That caused the girls to descend into fits of giggles, leaving the brunette quite bemused.

"We were just doing a little role-playing," Naruto explained, smiling. "These two were extremely sexy secretaries."

"Ah, I see," Hana blushed cutely. "Let me know next time, that sounds like fun," she added, with a twinkle in her eyes.

"Will do," he grinned, meeting her gaze.

Just then Fu bounded into the cargo bay, still nude from where she had hurriedly left the pool. "Hey, everyone, what are you up to?" she grinned happily, jogging over to join them.

"Hana has a surprise for you," Naruto explained helpfully, "We're dying to find out what it is too."

Fu looked towards Hana, who beamed a wide smile at her. "I really hope you like it. I just wanted to say thanks for saving me from getting eaten." the brunette clarified.

"Oh, don't worry about that," Fu smiled back at her. "But I am curious what this surprise is!"

"I'll need you to turn into your tiger form," Hana said tentatively. "Are you able to change to that at will?"

"I honestly haven't tried it when I don't have to charge to someone's rescue," Fu laughed. "But I'm willing to give it a try now!"

She stepped back from them a little way, before she dropped into a crouch and closed her eyes. Her breathing deepened, and her face grew calm and peaceful, while she focused on the image of the huge tiger that she had shifted into before. The others watched in amazement as her body shimmered in a dark green haze, before she began to grow slowly and steadily before their eyes. Eventually the shimmering dissipated, and Fu stood on four heavy paws, in all her majestic tiger form glory.

"You look amazing," Tenten said appreciatively, running her hand over Fu's soft fur on her five foot high shoulders.

Hinata and Hana stood on either side of the monstrously huge green tiger, stroking the ethereal viridian lines that formed the tiger stripes on her powerful muscles. Naruto walked around to Fu's head and scratched behind her ears, which made Fu begin a loud rumbling purr from deep in her throat. She looked at him with her feline garnet eyes, and then stepped forward to gently rub her huge head against his, her soft fur tickling the side of his face.

Hinata laughed abruptly, which made the others all turn to look at her. "Oh, sorry," she apologised. "Fu says that it's lovely being stroked like this, but she's curious what the surprise is."

"Oops! I got a bit distracted," Hana said, before turning and jogging over to the controls for the robotic loading arms. She powered them up, and then moved the big robotic arm that she'd been modifying, out into the centre of the cargo bay. The reinforced steel cable dragged behind it with a clank, as the robotic arm moved quickly across the room, several metres above the ground.

Fu's sharp eyes followed the cable as if drawn to it with magnets. Her whiskers came forward, her ears swivelling around as well, and she stalked ahead eagerly, her tail lashing behind her. The others got well clear and watched entranced as she prowled after the long cable, before dropping into a crouch as she got closer. Hana had a happy grin on her face as Fu stalked after the robotic arm, and she stopped the cable, just before it would disappear out of sight behind a big stack of ore containers. Fu froze and hugged the ground, creeping ever closer to her prey. Hana nudged the controls repeatedly, causing the thick steel cable to twitch and writhe, before suddenly disappearing out of sight. Fu leapt into action, tearing across the cargo bay and racing after her quarry, her heavy forepaws flashing out to try and catch it, as Hana swung the cable tantalisingly out of reach.

Laughing with delight, Hana manoeuvred the robotic arm around, making the thick steel cable twist and turn, as she swung it around the maze of containers. Fu charged after it, her massive jaws snapping at the end of the cable, as she repeatedly pounced on the smooth cord of steel, trying to trap it under her six inch long claws. Eventually the Latina slowed down the movements of the arm, letting Fu catch the cable in her maw. The enormous tiger rolled on her back, gnawing and biting the steel cable, while hugging it to her chest with her forepaws, and kicking out at the length of corded metal with her powerful back legs.

Hinata smiled as she read Fu's thoughts. "She loves it!" the bluenette said happily.

"Can I have a go?" Tenten said eagerly, and when Hana nodded enthusiastically, the ravenette skipped over to the controls to take over. She swished the robot arm away, the cable slithering out of the tiger's grasp, and she led Fu on a merry dance through the maze of ore containers once again.

"What made you think of setting this up?" Naruto asked the beaming brunette as she walked over to join them.

"I had a pet cat when I was a little girl, and she loved to chase after bits of string. I figured that with Fu having cat-like eyes even in her Nymph form, some of those hunting instincts might be ingrained in her." Hana explained with a happy grin on her face.

"It was very thoughtful," Hinata said, stepping up to Hana and giving her a big hug. "And she really does love it!"

"Fu isn't the only one having fun," Naruto noted with a grin. He nodded his chin towards Tenten, who was giggling at Fu's antics, as the massive tiger raced around chasing after the elusive steel cable.

They each took it in turns playing with the nine hundred pound tiger, and led Fu around, chasing after the now somewhat frayed and shredded steel cabling. After a couple of hours, they decided to call it a day, and Hana turned off the controls for the robotic loading arms, while Fu came padding over to them on her huge paws. Her flanks were rising and falling rapidly as she breathed heavily, her long tongue lolling out as she panted, with a happy bright eyed expression on her tiger face. She stopped a few steps away from them and then began to shimmer, her form becoming indistinct. After a few seconds she began to shrink in size, the fur disappearing into her body as she reformed into her green skinned Nymph shape.

Fu stood from her crouch, and dashed over to Hana, lifting her off the ground and spinning her in a circle. "Thank you so much!" Fu exclaimed, as the brunette laughed with delight. "I had the best time ever, that was so much fun!" the green skinned alien gasped exuberantly.

"I'm so glad you liked it!" Hana replied, hugging her friend tightly.

They walked back to the rest of the group, with Fu's breathing still heavy after all the exertion, doing interesting things with her rapidly rising and falling chest.

"The best time ever?" Hinata asked the Nymph coyly.

"Ok, perhaps not quite," she giggled, her garnet eyes sparkling as she glanced at Naruto. "But that was still loads of fun!" she replied, with a huge smile on her face.

Laughing together, they went up to the officer's lounge to cook an early dinner, joking and chatting as they worked as a team to get everything prepared. They ate dinner together, with wine, conversation and laughter flowing in equal measure. Naruto glanced around at the girls at one point, a wide contented smile on his face. Hinata heard his train of thoughts, and she looked up from dinner to smile back at him warmly.

*You look happy,* she said, her voice ringing with pleasure.

*I don't remember ever being happier,* he admitted to her honestly.

*Good. You deserve to be,* she told him fondly.

They finished dinner, stealing the occasional affectionate glances at one another, while joining in the playful banter with the other girls. When dinner was done, Hinata rose and offered Naruto her hand, leaving the other girls to tidy up while she led him to the comfortable sofas.

"Please take a seat," she said with a grin, enjoying the bemused expression on his face.

Naruto did as ordered, and then watched as Hinata glided around behind him, before placing her hands confidently on his shoulders. "Oh god..." he groaned, as the bluenette's slender, agile hands began to do wonderful things to his tense muscles.

She leaned down to put her full lips to his ear, while her hands continued to work their magic. "I could feel how much you enjoyed it when Fu gave you a massage," she murmured to him softly. "She gave me a few pointers when we were in bed together the other day. That girl can do amazing things with her hands..." she added in a breathy whisper.

Naruto chuckled at her comment, then reached back to quickly grab the lithesome bluenette, and pulled her over the chair and into his grasp. She giggled happily and looked up at him with her piercing lavender eyes, as he held her in his arms.

"You're perfect, do you know that?" he asked her rhetorically.

"I should think so, I was designed by a wonderful creator," she replied to him piously, with a wicked grin on her face.

Letting out a deep laugh, Naruto leaned in and kissed her, which she returned enthusiastically. They lost track of time in each other's arms, but the eventual appearance of the other girls on the sofas drew them apart. They sat up so that the other girls could snuggle in with them, and they watched the stars flashing by as they flew deeper into Terran Federation territory, having left the Ashanath Collective some hours earlier.

"Well that was a fun little adventure into Grey Space," Naruto said with a smile. "If you ignore the bits where we all nearly died a few times."

"We did get some awesome new tech though!" Tenten chipped in eagerly.

"Don't forget everything we learned about the Progenitors," Hana noted thoughtfully.

"We forged a new alliance with people who respect your power," Fu said excitedly.

"And started to find out a bit more about what each of us can do," Hinata said speculatively.

"Well, let's hope our trip to the Maliri will be just as interesting." Naruto laughed. "Once we've faced our toughest challenge yet... making a good impression with Hana's family!"

They laughed and hugged him tightly, relaxing happily together for a while, before finally retiring for the night.

Naruto woke before the girls, and he immediately began thinking about the upcoming meeting with Hana's family. He cared about the lovely brunette a great deal, and it felt very important that he make a good impression. The last thing he wanted to do was burden her with some unnecessary family drama, not when they had so many other things to worry about. The revelations about the nature of his parentage had been a depressing surprise, but in all honesty he'd been preparing himself for bad news. He found himself remarkably at peace with everything they'd discovered so far, and he glanced down at Hinata, knowing very well that she was a large part of the reason why he'd shrugged off these dark revelations with relative ease.

The beautiful bluenette he was focusing his attention on eventually awoke, followed shortly afterwards by the other girls, who all began to stretch in a Mexican wave of unblemished young flesh.

"Morning girls," he said to them warmly, and four sets of bright eyes looked up at him, as they chorused their own good mornings.

"We aren't going to arrive at Episilon-Eridani until three this afternoon, so we have plenty of time to kill before we arrive at Jericho," he said, referring to Hana's home planet. "Is there anything you ladies want to do this morning?"

"Well I've been putting it off, but I should probably look at reshaping the Invictium armour plates in the Phalanx armour," Hinata admitted ruefully.

"That's a good idea," Naruto agreed wholeheartedly, his hand drifting down to his chest just below the ribs, where he'd been impaled by a Drakkar blade. "If double shaped Invictium is more durable, it makes sense to try and improve the toughness of our armour."

"As long as you're there to provide 'healing' afterwards, I don't mind," Hinata said with a sly grin.

"It looks like my morning plans have been decided for me then!" Naruto joked, triggering amused giggles from the girls.

"I've got a few side projects I'd like to start, but I'd better keep you company for the reshaping, just to make sure we get all the armour plating correct," Tenten said with a shrug.

"Are you sure you're not looking for a little 'healing' yourself?" Hinata laughed teasingly.

"Hey! I'm the chief engineer on this ship, and your gear is my responsibility. I'm a dedicated professional!" Tenten said indignantly, but the lusty glance she stole at Naruto gave her away.

"Ok, ok, chief engineer, settle down," Hinata grinned and gave her a wink.

"I'll give my mother a call, and let her know when we'll be arriving," Hana said considerately.

"And that just leaves Fu," Naruto said, looking over at the Nymph. "How about you honey, got anything in mind for this morning?"

"I'll just keep you company too if that's ok?" she replied eagerly.

"Of course, I love having you around," he grinned at her happily, and enjoyed seeing a delighted smile light up her beautiful features.

They rose together, then showered and had a quick breakfast. Hana waved them goodbye and left to go up to the bridge, while the rest of the group paused for a moment in the officer's lounge, unsure what the best way was to proceed.

"Ugh, this is going to be annoying," Tenten said, blowing out a deep breath. "We just have the one Psi-shaper down in the cargo bay, but all the Phalanx armour is scattered around the ship. There's five suits up on the bridge, two in the commander's quarters, two in the firing range and then one in my workshop. We'll have to gather up all the armour pieces from the armour equipping frames, and then bring them to the cargo bay, so that Hinata can work on them one piece at a time."

"Wouldn't it just be easier to go and get suited up, and then walk the suits down to the cargo bay?" Fu asked the ravenette curiously. "We can stand under the Psi-shaper and Hinata can remould the plates while we wait."

Tenten looked surprised for a moment. "Hey, that's a great idea!" she exclaimed. "Why didn't I think of that?"

"Maybe because you're used to taking things apart before you start to modify them?" Naruto observed with a smile.

"Yeah, that makes sense," Tenten agreed with a grin. "Ok then, Naruto and Fu can you go and get the first couple of suits, and come and meet us down at the cargo bay please."

"You got it chief engineer!" Naruto grinned, holding out his hand to Fu and leading her back to his quarters. Hinata and Tenten waved them goodbye and stepped into the grav-tube, disappearing downwards in the red glow.

They walked into the bedroom, and as Fu started to head towards the walk-in-wardrobe, he surprised her by scooping her up into his arms and carrying her onto the bed. The surprise on her face quickly shifted to delight, and she sighed happily as he put her down and kissed her tenderly, holding her close to him.

"Mmm, this a lovely surprise," she purred contentedly when he pulled back to smile at her. "What brought this on?"

"I haven't thanked you properly yet for saving my life back there against the Drakkar," Naruto said with a smile.

"It's what any good Nymph would do for her master," Fu joked with him gently.

"Well you're the best Nymph a master could ever hope to have," Naruto replied playfully, before he turned serious and stroked her face lovingly, mirroring a gesture she had used before with him. "But I do intend to show you just how much more than that you mean to me."

She looked up at him with her cat-like garnet eyes, studying his face and then stroking it lovingly, starting at his ear and then tracing her finger down along his jawline. "I was being quite serious when I said you gave me a life to live, Naruto." she said, staring into his eyes. "I feel like everything that happened to me before I met you was just a bad dream; blurry and indistinct."

"Well I'm glad I woke you up from that bad dream," he said, before leaning in to kiss her again, losing himself in her sensual lips, and the feel of her cool firm skin under his fingertips. Fu moaned and sighed, her luscious green body responding eagerly to his touch, as she kissed him back fiercely.

*Ahem* Hinata's voice sounded clearly in both of their minds, and they looked at each other in surprise.

*I'm really sorry to interrupt a beautiful moment, but we've already started working on the female armour suits and we'll need your help Naruto, to get your suits down here too,* the bluenette said apologetically.

He laughed and shook his head with chagrin. "Sorry Hinata, we got a bit sidetracked," he said out loud, knowing the bluenette would be able to hear every word via her telepathic link with both of them.

"We'll be down in a minute," Fu added, following his cue.

"We'll continue this conversation another time," Naruto promised, leaning down to give Fu one last quick peck on the lips.

"I can't wait," she said, looking up at him with an adoring smile on her face.

They went into the wardrobe and stood in the armour equipping frames, stepping into the black armoured boots, and slipping their hands into the armoured gauntlets. Naruto pressed the button on the right thumb of the armour, and the robotic arms on the frame swung smoothly into place, equipping him fully in the body armour in just a couple of seconds. He pressed his left thumb to his gauntleted left palm, and there were a series of metallic clicks that rippled around the armour as he was locked into the suit. Fu had done the same thing, and she followed him out of the wardrobe, and then down the grav tube to go to the cargo bay.

On the other side of the cargo bay, Hinata stood next to the psi-shaper with Tenten at her side, a holographic schematic of the armour plates being projected from the holo-reader in her hands. There was another armoured figure standing under the psi-shaper, which must have been Hana, who stood motionless and waited for Hinata to proceed. As they approached, the psi-shaper emitters glowed an ethereal pink, and the shiny black armour plate that encased Hana's breastplate began to liquefy, and float up into the air in a glimmering black ball. The liquid Invictium roiled slowly for a few seconds before reforming into the same breastplate shape, and then moved down to securely lock into place as the outer protective layer on the Phalanx armour.

"Sorry we're late," Naruto said apologetically. "You know how distracting it is kissing Fu..." he added with a grin.

The girls laughed and nodded, agreeing with his sentiments.

"How many suits have you done so far?" He asked curiously.

"This is only the second," Hinata said in irritation. "Doing each armour plate one at a time is annoyingly slow!"

"Hey, I just want to make sure we get the plates correctly sized and fitted," Tenten said defensively.

"Have you tried doing more than one plate at a time?" Fu asked Hinata curiously.

Tenten groaned and raised her hands in defeat. "Alright, go ahead and try, I know you were looking for an excuse anyway!" she laughed.

Hinata grinned and then closed her eyes, focusing on the psi-shaper. The sensors and then the emitters glowed a soft pink, and both of the exterior black armoured shoulder plates rose up from the body armour, then slowly melted into a glistening black ball of viscous Invictium, hovering in the air above Hana's head. The image on the display showed two shoulder plates and the sphere of Invictium split in half and formed two separate armour pieces, before floating down to lock into position.

"Easy!" Hinata exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Let's see if we can do this even faster!"

"Hinata..." Tenten said in a stern voice, but the headstrong bluenette was already closing her eyes, and focusing on the psi-shaper once again.

The psi-shaper began to glow again, and all the remaining armour plates melted off the Phalanx armour to form a big glimmering ball of unshaped Invictium, that hovered and turned gently in the air. After a few seconds, the black liquid metal began to stream down to the armour suit, reforming the missing armour plates all at once.

"Very impressive!" Naruto said, leading a round of applause from the other girls.

Tenten darted over and unclipped a hand held scanner from her belt, before running a scan over one of the newly formed plates. "Ok I admit, that was awesome," she said a moment later. "And the armour plating looks to be perfectly formed."

Hinata took a bow and then grinned at them with delight.

"I'll go get another suit," Hana offered from inside the body armour, and jogged away, heading to the grav tube.

"I might as well go and get one too," Tenten said. "There's eight female suits and only two male ones, so it will speed things up."

"If you'd care to step under the psi-shaper please Fu, we can begin," Hinata said, cracking her knuckles and grinning with anticipation.

Fu moved obediently into position, and Hinata closed her eyes, focusing once more. Every plate on the armour suit melted off at once, rising through the air on black tendrils, to form a big hovering sphere of Invictium. It pulsated and coiled within itself for a moment, before oozing back down to completely reform the many armour plates that covered the Phalanx body armour.

"You're just showing off now," Naruto laughed, applauding her impressive display of psychic armoursmithing.

Fu darted off to collect another suit, and he stepped under the psi-shaper, so that his body armour could be reshaped again. When he was in position, Hinata looked over at him and winked, before blowing him a kiss. She closed her eyes and focused on the machine, the emitters glowing a soft pink as she sucked all the black armour plating off his armoured suit, so that it formed into a swirling black blob in the air.

Naruto watched the jet black ball of Invictium, seeing the tiny Etherite crystals sparkling in the light from the overhead lighting. He was expecting it to start streaming back into place, but instead it expanded out into a huge heart shape with HH 4 NU written in large elegant lettering. He glanced at Hinata, who still had her eyes closed, but now wore a gentle smile on her face. She took a deep breath, holding her head in both hands, and frowned as she concentrated on the psi-shaper. The machine began to creak and groan ominously, with a long fracture splintering up the side of the main arm, before the emitters began to glow a bright pink, and the Invictium slowly gathered back into a pulsating black ball. Hinata let out a soft gasp, and the liquid Invictium began to move like torpid treacle, flowing down languidly to encase his body in a freshly forged set of armour plating.

A few seconds later, the pink glow dissipated and the bluenette let out her breath with a long sigh, before opening her eyes to look at him. Naruto quickly removed his helmet and darted over to her side.

"Are you ok?" he asked, his voice carrying his concern. "That was a cute gesture, but I've seen how much strain triple shaping puts you under."

"I want to keep you as safe as I can," she said vehemently. "I'm not going to lie, it's a lot harder reforming Invictium a third time, but I don't want to see you get that badly injured again!"

Naruto held her in his arms, hugging her tightly to him. "I feel the same way about you too though! I don't want to put you under any more strain, but are you going to do the same to any of the other suits too?"

Hinata gazed up at the badly damaged psi-shaper, and she began to look doubtful. "I actually found that a lot easier than when I made your sword, but I don't think the psi-shaper can take it."

"It's not looking good," he regretfully agreed with her assessment. "Perhaps Tenten can patch it up, and we can try again some other time?"

Hinata nodded agreeably, and then waved a black armoured figure over when one of the girls appeared at the cargo bay door.

"Hey, what happened to the psi-shaper?" Tenten said with surprise, her voice echoing around the huge cargo bay.

"Hinata decided to triple shape this armour suit," Naruto explained to her.

"We need to keep him nice and safe," the beautiful bluenette girl said defensively.

"I can't fault your reasoning, but Zanthus probably won't be happy," Tenten laughed, thinking about the Ashanath engineer who'd given her the psi-shaper.

She stepped under the psi-shaper and Hinata closed her eyes, pulling away the old Invictium armour plating and then reforming it over Tenten's body armour shell. The psi-shaper still seemed to be working ok, so she shrugged and then sent them off to get the next armour suits. Within the hour, they were completely done, having double shaped all the Phalanx body armour, making them more durable. The one exception was the triple shaped suit for Naruto, that seemed to glisten with the same extra shine of his Invictium sword.

They reconvened in the bedroom, having replaced all the body armour back in the equipping frames. Hinata stretched where she lay on the bed, and eyed Naruto hungrily when he returned from the bridge, and stepped through the doorway into his quarters.

"I've seen that look before," he laughed, as the other girls followed him into the bedroom.

"I worked up an appetite," Hinata replied suggestively, licking her lips with anticipation.

"Before you load her up," Hana interjected cautiously. "We'll be arriving at Jericho in a few hours. It might raise a few uncomfortable questions if Hinata arrives with a hugely swollen belly."

"Ok, good point," Hinata conceded with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. "I'm happy to share."

"Yay!" Tenten clapped happily.

"Why don't you two finish what you started before?" Hinata suggested, looking at Naruto and Fu in turn. "Think of it as my apology for cock-blocking you earlier," she added with an apologetic smile.

"I'd love to!" Fu gasped delightedly, before giving the three teenagers a lewd look. "As long as you girls don't mind nursing from me afterwards?"

The three very aroused looks she received from Hinata, Hana and Tenten told her that they didn't mind at all. Naruto offered the bluenette girl a hand, and she gracefully dismounted the bed to stand at his side.
