It had been two weeks already since anyone had last seen Natsu or Erza at the guild. People were starting to worry. And the way they left didn't make things any better.
Natsu had practically kicked the guild doors off their hinges as he suddenly stormed into the guild. Taking all of a moment to scan the building, he quickly marched over to Erza Scarlet, who like everyone else was staring at the unusually quiet dragon slayer. He hadn't said a word of greeting or anything.
Seeing Natsu approach her, Erza had turned from the bar to see what he wanted. To everyone's surprise, Natsu leaned in and whispered something into her ear. Seconds passed, when suddenly Erza's face became as colored as her namesake. Some swore they could see steam coming from her ears. Erza then slowly nodded her head.
In the next instance, Natsu had dragged Erza by the hand out of the guild. And that was the last anyone saw of them.. Now Gray, Lucy, Happy, Juvia, Cana, Elfman, and Mira sat at the bar discussing what to do.
"Guys Natsu has come home at all! I'm almost out of fish money." (Happy)
"I don't see what the big deal is, Master isn't worried so why should we be?" (Gray)
"Because Gray, it's not like either of them. It was weird how they just left and as their team mates we should have some idea of what's going on." (Lucy)
"Natsu's a man, he can take care of himself." (Elfman)
"Mira, can I get another round?" (Cana)
"Sure just… Erza?!" (Mira)
At Mira's surprised voice. Everyone quickly turned to follow her gaze.
Walking in through the front door was Erza. Her hair was a mess, armor and clothes in tatters. As she walked forward an obvious limp could be seen. At first glance she looked like she had just come from a furious battle.
Though as she got closer, it was the females of the group who noticed it. She had this glow. It was the sway of her hips, the puffiness of lips, the way her eyes held this dignified power.
Sitting down at the bar, Erza ordered her usual strawberry cake, seemingly not noticing that all eyes were on her.
Mira was the first to break the silence that had arisen.
"Glad to see you back, Erza. You um, are you ok?…Erza?" (Mira)
Having already taken a bite of her cake Erza took a moment to respond.
"Mmmh, I'm fine. Why do you ask?" Erza said in an obvious daze.
"Because you look like you just got out of a fight." (Gray)
"A fight?" Erza asked as she looked down at herself in confusion. It was then those watching saw a clearness appear in Erza's eyes.
She suddenly started to pat down her hair, and try to put her clothes in order. Her face slowly but surely getting more and more red as she took herself in.
As one almost instantly, the rest of the women began to move. Covering Erza and shooing all males out of the guild hall. The few complaints met with quick swats to the head and threats of a magical removal.
There Erza sat at the bar, beat red, cake forgotten, surrounded by her fellow female guild mates.
"Looks like you're awake now, huh Erza?" (Cana)
Erza could only nod. Trying to keep her head and eyes down.
"Erza, I think we've all got a pretty good idea of what happened, but just to be sure. Did you… and Natsu…?" (Mira)
Erza, not trusting her voice, gave a small nod. Face still red.
Despite themselves those present still gasped in surprise and disbelief. And yet the proof was clear as day to them the way Erza squirmed under their gaze.
"Gasp, does this mean the whole time you two were gone, you two were?" (Juvia)
The others at hearing Juvia's words couldn't help but start sporting their own blushes at the thought. It only got worse when they noticed Erza did not respond and was desperately avoiding eye contact.
Silence filled the mostly empty guild hall. Many with questions, but reluctant to ask due to the one with answers not being in any state to give them.
That's when the sound of the guild doors opening made everyone jump. Mira quickly turned to shoo who ever came in away, but any words she had prepared quickly died on her lips.
In the doorway was a shirtless Natsu. All eyes were on him. Much like two weeks earlier, he immediately made a beeline straight for Erza. The girls surrounding her naturally moving out of his way. They could feel the heat rolling off of him, as he seemed to tower over the blushing Titania.
Mira watched as Natsu glanced from Erza to the barely touched strawberry cake, and then back again.
"Mira, one full strawberry cake to go please." (Natsu)
"Oh, um… yeah, one sec!" (Mira)
Quickly Mira moved to her task as the silence set in again. Natsu not once taking his eyes off of Erza. She squirmed under his gaze.
"Here you go." (Mira)
Taking the box, Natsu handed it to Erza. Then in one quick motion picked her up into a princess carry. Erza had a surprised look on her face as he lifted her, but didn't fight his actions. Instead leaning into him and hiding her face from the others as she snuggled into his chest.
Without a word, Natsu turned around and walked out of the guild, with Erza in hand.
For a solid minute all just stared after the couple.
"I didn't imagine those nail marks on his back right?" (Cana)
"Are they off to start it all over again?" (Lucy)
"Juvia wishes Gray was so bold." (Juvia)
"Considering they took a whole cake with them, I don't expect to see them for a while." (Mira)
"Seriously, what the hell is up with Natsu?" (Lucy)
"He's in heat." (Guild master)
Everyone jumped at the master's sudden appearance, though they got over it quickly upon realizing what he said.
"Heat? Like an animal?" (Juvia)
"He is a dragon slayer." (Guild master)
"Should we be worried about that? He wasn't exactly acting like himself." (Lucy)
"Well, if he wasn't able to find a partner, then maybe, but Erza seems to have that covered." (Guild master)
"Hold on, since when have Natsu and Erza been dating?" (Cana)
"Yeah, I know the two are close, but they weren't a thing." (Lucy)
"If I had to guess, about two weeks ago." (Guild master)
"What!? You mean Natsu just went up to her, said 'I'm in heat.', and she just went with it just like that?" (Cana)
"You all seem to be forgetting something." (Guild master)
"Forgetting wha… oh god, Cana, her collection." (Mira)
"Collection?… Oh my god! The poor girl never stood a chance." (Cana)
"Can someone please explain to Juvia?" (Juvia)
"Erza doesn't exactly broadcast it, but she has the largest smut collection out of anyone in the guild." (Mira)
"What does that?" (Lucy)
"Think about it. She reads that stuff all the time. Imagining being in those situations. Then one day, Natsu of all people, walks up to her and tells her he needs her in what I can only assume is some heat driven lusty voice. How does SHE of all people turn down an invitation like that." (Cana)
After Cana's little speech, blushes were appearing on all present. It was one thing to know it. It was a completely different story when it was said out loud.
It was then that Lucy's blush grew four shades darker, causing the rest to look at her questioningly.
"Does Natsu know about 'protection', cause it didn't look like Erza was in a state to remember to keep using it."
It was then that everyone's blush deepened to match the blond's.
"Haha, well it looks like we'll have a few more little ones running around soon enough." (Guild master)
"God, little Natsu's and Erza's running around." (Cana)
"I think they'll be cute." (Mira)
"Juvia must find Gray." (Juvia)
"Should we warn Levy?" (Lucy)
"Better not. If she disappears on Gajeel, he'll try to find the next best thing. It's best to let nature take its course in these situations." (Guild master)
"So, when can we expect those two to come back?" (Cana)
"Well, I'd say another month or so. Dragons aren't exactly a plentiful species. When they mate, they make it count." (Guild master)
"I guess all we can do is wish Erza the best of luck and be happy for the two." (Mira)
A chorus of yeahs could be heard as the group finally came to terms with the situation. Though many questions still hung in the air. For example, what exactly did Natsu do to put her into the state she was in? Or where exactly did Natsu take her? Would Happy have enough fish money to last another month? Well they would have to wait to ask those questions and worrying about them now would be pointless. And hell, at least they now knew what was going on.
