Tuesday, December 15, 2016 8:45p, Sasha's and Chloe's Garage

"I thought neither of you two celebrated Christian holidays," Nyx said, drinking a glass of bloody egg nog.

"Not particularly," Sasha said to the vampire, "But it's good to be cheerful sometimes."

"And what better time than the holiday season?" Chloe said, coming downstairs.

"Anyway," Sasha said, "How long are you in town for?"

"A number of people saw a cop… dehydrate in a fight with me. Mind if I lay low for a while?"

"Sure, no prob."

"And the perp in the Suzuki?"

"We were seeing our WiFi get breached," Sasha said.

"And my Sonic was cyberraped."

"Yeah, that happens," Nyx said as Sasha's watch started beeping, "What's that?"

"Oh," he said, getting his car keys, "Chloe found another gearhead enthusiast that we're concerned for at school and we're curious to see where she lives."

"I'll hold down the fort," Nyx said as Sasha and Chloe both got into his old, blue Plymouth and drove off, "Some cheer."

On the road, Sasha forewent turning on the stereo and instead, opted to enjoy the revving of the four-cyl engine under the hood.

"I'm worried about Sunset," Chloe said, going to the Anon-a-miss page and looking at the latest post, "Change of plans, we're beating those kids up. I have my with me, and I'm ready to go to town."

"It's not that simple," Sasha said, "We're not dealing with a bathtub overflowing from a faucet. We're dealing with someone who's likely in danger because of that blog. Take care of her, then we can go after the three bitches."

"This is incredibly difficult," Chloe said after a few minutes of silence.

"Did you blast the app to her phone and install the APK on yours?"

"Yeah," Chloe said, opening one of Sasha's apps on her phone, "Tracking her now."

"Tell me where to go."

Chloe gave the directions to Sasha as he laid on the gas, the old Chrysler engine almost begging for mercy. Within minutes, though, Chloe had gotten Sasha to where Sunset was living.

Or what was left of it, seeing as how it was a fallen-in shelter of what looked to be literal garbage with a noticeable area of red on the ground in the white snow.

"What the fuck?" Sasha said, killing the engine as the duo got out and examined the area closer.

Sure enough, Sasha and Chloe's prodding revealed the shack of garbage and rotted wood to be Sunset's house… if they were being generous enough with their words. Looking down at the stained snow, it didn't take a genius with a 162 IQ to tell that the red substance was indeed someone's blood.

"Looks like she either crawled away or was dragged away," Sasha said.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Chloe said.

"Those rings Nyx gave us," Sasha said, pulling a chrome ring from his jacket pocket for a brief moment, "You have yours?"

"Yup," Chloe said, "Looks like we'll be sneaking into a hospital soon enough. What's the plan?"

"I drive like hell, you lead me to the hospital. When we get there, we put on those rings and go in as our mom and dad and figure out where to go from there."

"Sounds good!" Chloe said as they both ran to the car just before Sasha started driving to the hospital like a bat out of hell.

Back at the garage, Nyx had found her way into the bathroom and was examining her face, currently bearing her fangs at the mirror.

"Ugh, what are they doing here?" she said to the golden-eyed and fanged figure in the mirror looking back at her as her phone pinged with a new message.

Sasha: We may be a bit later than originally planned.

Nyx: What happened?

Sasha: We'll find out later. Don't worry, Chloe and I can handle ourselves decently well.

Sasha: You know this by now, *putz*.

The whole drive to the hospital, Sasha and Chloe sat in anxious silence as the car's engine begged for mercy.

"Found a picture of her," Chloe said after a few moments of searching, "Full name is… Sunset Shimmer?"

"Someone in her condition would likely have been taken to the Canterlot General Hospital," Sasha said, "Heading there now."

As the engine continued to scream for mercy, Sasha kept his foot sunk into the floor until he turned into the hospital's parking lot and skidded to a stop.

"For a car that's front wheel drive and has no real frame to speak of," Chloe said as they both got out and hurried inside, "Your Plymouth handles pretty well."

"Yeah, thanks."

As they hurried inside, they didn't know what to expect, or even for the girl to be there.

"How may I help you?" the nurse at the station said.

"We're looking for this girl," Chloe said, showing the nurse Sunset's picture, "Her name is Sunset Shimmer."

"I'm sorry," the nurse said, "But we have no records of a Miss Sunset Shimmer here."

"No Jane Does either?" Sasha asked.

"Nope."

With that, Sasha and Chloe went back out to the car.

"Any other plans?" Chloe said.

"We go to the last known location. If that fails, we start hacking."

"Step on it!"

"Will do," Sasha said, starting the car and immediately driving back to the collapsed hut.

Upon arriving at the spot, it was clear that nothing had been moved or tampered with.

"You start digging, I'll get the car ready," Sasha said, opening the hatch and folding the seats down before running over to help Chloe dig through the snow and garbage.

"Found someone!" she said after a few moments.

Sasha quickly went over to Chloe to help her bring the girl back to the car.

"Nice job," Chloe said as they sat the orange, fire-haired girl in the back of the car.

"Now for the finishing touch," Sasha said, blasting the heater and closing the doors, "Anything that might be of importance, bring."

Going back to the rubble, they continued searching for anything else of value, but they could only find what looked like a diary in the snowstorm… completely ignoring the fact that the storm was only picking up.

"How good can you drive a stick?" Sasha asked.

"Normally decent, but not in what's about to be three inches of snow."

"You be on medical duty, I'll drive and tell you what to do!"

Quickly, they both got in the car before driving back to the garage. A few minutes in, though, Chloe noticed the girl come to.

"Wh- what are… you doing?"

"Sash, she's awake!" Chloe said, jumping in the back with the girl.

"Get back there and hold on!"

"Sunset, right?" Chloe said to the girl, "We're not going to do anything to you. We want to help you."

Immediately, the formerly-homeless girl became fully lucid and saw the other two in the car, "No! Don't! It wasn't me, I swear!"

"Sasha, I'm not a shrink back here!"

"Sunset!" Sasha said, "We both know that you're not behind that blog. Just trust us and we'll take care of you."

Sunset knew the reputation that Sasha and Chloe had. On their own, the were two misfits that barely ever showed up to class. When someone crossed them wrong, though, then someone was getting hurt. Badly.

"You really don't think it was me?"

"Only an idiot would do something like that and plaster their face all over it," Sasha said, "It doesn't take a 162 IQ to figure that out."

"What are you going to do?"

"Originally," Chloe said, "We were just gonna come see about the car, I'm guessing the two-year-old Geo Tracker was gonna be your way out of Oregon?"

"Yeah."

"Well, Sasha and I both think your mentally-enabled like us. Now, seeing your garbage shack caved in on you-"

"You're spending Christmas with us!" Sasha said, "Maybe longer!"

"Wait, you're…?"

"Giving you a home, yeah," Chloe said, handing her the journal, "We found this too. Didn't know if you'd want it."

"Thanks," Sunset said at a loss for words.

Soon enough, Sasha and Chloe were back at the warehouse that served as their home base, so to speak. Not wanting to lose any heat that Sunset had gained from the ride back, Sasha opted to open the garage door and help get Sunset out inside of the building.

"Ready?" Sasha asked, killing the engine as he closed the garage door.

"Yeah," Chloe said.

Sasha opened the hatch for Chloe to get out of.

"Can you stand?" Chloe said.

"My foot hurts like tartarus," Sunset said, "I'm not sure."

"You know what?" Nyx said, getting an eyeful of the scene, "I'm not even gonna ask."

Sunset saw Nyx and had trouble processing the fact that she was a vampire.

"Don't think about it too much," Sasha said, picking up on the subtle cues as he took her boot off, "She's cool."

"J- just take it easy, he knows what he's doing," Chloe said as Sunset cried in pain while Sasha got the boot off and felt of her foot.

"What've you got, some weird kind of foot fetish‽"

"You know," Sasha said, snapping his gaze to Sunset's, "We could've left you out there in the cold… Now, your foot looks sprained but not broken. Chloe, ibuprofen 500 mils."

Sunset breathed a sigh of relief, "What now?"

"Keep any extra weight off of it if you can, I'm giving you an anti-inflammatory and it wouldn't be a bad idea to hold an ice pack on it to help with some of the swelling. Any breathing issues?"

"No."

"Okay, that's good," Sasha said, "Means you were protected from physical injury to your chest."

As Sasha examined the rest of Sunset's body, he was extremely glad to find that nothing had taken anymore damage than a mild sprain here or a bruise there. The only two major problems were the effects that hypothermia had in the short- and long-term and her sprained foot.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're gonna be fine."

"Okay," Nyx said, "We've all had a… crazy day, to say the least, so what if I went to get dinner?"

"Sunset, how do you feel about Chinese food?" Chloe asked.

"Sure," she said, catching her words after a moment.

"I could go for some Cantonese," Sasha said.

"I'll be back soon," Nyx said, walking out and, thanks to the aid of a pair of massive bat-like wings, took flight.

"While she's gone," Sasha said, "Chloe and I will help you onto the couch."

"Thanks," Sunset said as the two outcasts helped her out of the back of the old Plymouth.
