It's been a month since the party happened and Rachel has slowly forgotten (more of stored it in the back of her mind) the not so ideal meeting of her past lover.
Everyone, her neighbors and co-workers, noticed how tense she has been recently.
No one wanted to ask her about it especially when Sugar asked her if she's fine and she shattered the milkshake she was about to serve, causing the shake to explode and glass to splatter everywhere, because of accidentally knocking it over a tray of a co-waiter passing by and by biting her head off.
Suffice to say everyone was too terrified to question her about it; even Kitty steered clear of her.
Only Harmony knew the reason why she was acting like that, but she only knew bits of information. She knew not to push her in case of a meltdown she might not recover from.
Not even Gabi knew about this information and she's closer to her than Harmony.
Rachel feels a little guilty about it, but she can't help it. Thinking about what happened at the party, thinking about her, thinking about the past is too much for her what more if she started talking about it.
Even Alex started showing concern about her.
People were walking on eggshells when in near proximity with her, it got annoying to the point she wanted to scream in front of their faces.
Good thing Alice never noticed anything about it and continued acting with her sweet, energetic, dancing way. Or if she did, she just didn't mind it.
While everyone was wary with her, they didn't ask or push her into revealing why she was all tense and looked as if she lost a little bit of her sunshine and sparkle.
Thank God for small favors.
After weeks of a confining atmosphere in the diner, it all went back to normal after the end of the second week.
Believe it or not, her neighbors and friends started treating her back to as it was before the party happened.
Life goes on.
Rachel continued waitressing at the diner, Alice continued with her weekly ballet classes with one of her neighbors or Marley staying with her after, Friday dinner dates with neighbors continued, and Harmony still continued pestering Rachel for another girls' night.
On the middle of the third week, Marley informed the brunette mother of a halloween party happening after her daughter's dance class that requires both of their attendance.
The two women have been getting closer and started texting one another ever since they met at the party.
The shorter of the two has been grateful for the other woman for agreeing to watch Alice when she or her neighbors are too busy to fetch her on time. Alice loved the other woman that she started calling her and her girlfriend her aunties.
Marley teared a little bit the first time she called her that, even Kitty but when asked she just said a dust flew in her eye.
Throughout all these, Quinn never gave up thinking of finding ways to meet Rachel again.
The blonde woman moved to New York just a month after graduating from Yale. She applied for law, but switched majors to photography. No matter how hard she persuaded herself into thinking law is what she wants, she just can't and changed into her true calling.
She has been living in a two story building with the ground floor as her own studio and the top floor as her own apartment. The building was a steal with how cheap rent is for a big and clean building.
She'd use her breaks or days with no clients either thinking about the brunette or visiting Brittany's dance studio. She had noticed that the little girl she has taken a liking to would always wait at the play room area or would talk Marley's ears off when she's not busy.
It kind of reminder her of someone. She can't seem to contemplate who though.
She had gotten closer to the little girl and would even read her a book or two until one of her aunties arrived to fetch her. She has learned that she's turning five on April, her favorite color's purple, and her momma's her favorite person in the whole world. The two blondes even bonded over their favorite book ever, Alice in Wonderland.
Quinn thought Alice was one those kids where their parents neglect them and let their nannies practically raise them or fend for themselves alone, just like her, she thought sadly. But turns out her mom was just too busy with her work and their schedules would clash. Her mother could enroll her in another dance class that wouldn't prevent them from seeing each other, but it would be too far from their home and out of their budget.
Quinn's not complaining though, she loves the kid and she'd no doubt shed tears if she can't see her anymore.

It is now the day of the mother and daughter halloween party happening later that evening.
"Okay princess, you enjoy your day today and remember to call me in case of emergencies. Auntie Alex will fetch you later and we will prepare for the party after I go home, okay?"
"I know momma" whined Alice. Why can't momma stop talking I wanna go to ballet now, she thought annoyed.
Seeing the pesky look on her daughter's face, stifling a laugh, "I love you, princess", hugging her daughter and raining kisses all over her face.
"I love you too momma", no matter how annoyed she is, she won't deny her momma's hugs and kisses.
With that the mother and daughter duo left their apartment and walked to the little girl's dance school.
Not knowing the surprise waiting for them...
