Quinn's been sitting in a booth where Rachel works at 15 minutes before the agreed time. She was scared to be late because they may have lost touch for years, but she knows Rachel wasn't bluffing when she said to come on time or else face the consequences she hoped would rather not happen.

She has been sitting there with bouncing legs because of nerves. She ordered a cup of coffee, which she would probably not drink, to pass the time. Observing the busy diner, she was startled when music blasted through her surroundings.

Yellow diamonds in the light

Now we're standing side by side

Focusing her attention to the stage up front, she was mesmerized with the singer. She noted, she wasn't the only one hypnotized with the performers.

As your shadow crosses mine

What it takes to come alive

It was Rachel and one of the girls from the party where they first met again who were singing.

God, her voice...

She noticed that Rachel probably didn't see her yet since she was all smiles and enjoying her performance. She couldn't help but smile, seeing the brunette in her element, seeing her singing and dancing just like what she is meant to be doing, leaves a happy feeling in her heart.

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

All the patrons in the diner gave them a loud round of applause, some even gave them whistles and standing ovation. "Encore" was even heard through the shouting and clapping.

When Rachel took off the stage and went to the back of the diner, Quinn went back to bouncing on her seat nervously. Watching the time tick by, she noticed there are only a few minutes left until Rachel's shift ends.

To pass time, she thought of the possible outcomes of this meeting:

one. Rachel agrees to her agreement easily; they both have a relationship with Alice. If you ask the blonde, it's a win-win situation (most likely to never happen).

two. Rachel doesn't agree and asks to never see her again.

three. Rachel doesn't agree and Quinn counter argues which would either lead to a screaming match or Rachel slapping her face.

She was startled out of her thoughts when a hand was being snapped in front of her face. Shaking her head and looking for the owner of the hand, "Oh uhm hey..." the blonde sheepishly said.

When did she get here... Oh crap! Is her shift done?

"I've been calling your name atleast 4 times. I swear Fabray, you better not waste my time" Rachel replied, annoyed.

"I uhh..." looking around the people eating, "Can we talk somewhere else?" asked Quinn.

Standing up from her seat in front of the blonde, Rachel walked out of diner. Quinn just sat there stunned, but after getting her bearings, she realized she was supposed to follow her.

After running after Rachel, how can someone so short have long legs that make her walk faster, they reached a park. Finally walking into step with Rachel, instead of running after her, she observed the girl no... woman beside her. She looks like the same teenager she fell in love with all that summers ago except she looks much more mature and elegant.

Motherhood suits her.

They stopped walking altogether and stopped in front of a duck pond, by the looks of it, Rachel has no plan of starting the conversation.

"Uhh... I guess you already know what I'm here for?" asked Quinn.

"No, I believe not"

Huh so she's gonna make this hard for me... deserved but damn it woman!

Barring her teeth, "I want to talk about Alice."

"What about my daughter?" the brunette asked while still staring at the duck pond.

Pinching the bridge of her nose, "Come on Rachel, stop making this hard for m..." she trailed off after seeing the venomous glare the other woman sent her.

Holding her hands up in surrender, "Sorry sorry... It's just... uRGHHH"

When Quinn noticed that Rachel still isn't cooperating, she decided to do the straightforward way, "I want to have a relationship with our daughter."

Silence surrounded them, only the sound of water splashing and ducks quacking can be heard. After an eternity of silence (which was just a minute, who knew Quinn Fabray's a bigger diva than Rachel Berry), the other woman finally answered, "Why should I allow you?" turning to look at the green eyes her daughter also possesses.

Sensing that Rachel is finally willing to cooperate, "I know I've done you wrong," a cluck of tongue was heard but she ignored it, "but I've changed."

"I've only seen you a few times, what makes you think I've seen a new side of you, this changed version of you."

"You haven't, well I think you haven't, but Rach... I'm here now, I guarantee you I'm never gonna do the same mistake again. I won't ever hurt you or Alice ever. I know it's a long shot, but I want you to trust me" Quinn pleaded, desperation seen in her slightly teary eyes.

"Don't call me that" was what was replied.

"Call you what?" the blonde asked, genuinely confused.

Staring at her eyes with a blank face, "Rach... only my friends can call me that."

Ouch... she doesn't even see me as a friend... shit this shit is shitty as hell why the fuck did that comment hurt so much... no seriously, what the fuck, I feel like my hearts burning or breaking... but seriously... that's what she heard? out of all the things I said??!?

"You want me to trust you?" the blonde nodding in affirmative, snapping out of her thoughts, "the last time I trusted you I was humiliated in front of the whole school" the brunette deadpanned.

fuck... I guess Rachel changed so much, I mean she was usually a forgive and forget person. Did I really hurt her that much?

Before Quinn can reply, "You can have a relationship with her" the blonde smiled so wide, "but I have to be there when you hangout and she doesn't have to know you as her other mother" and that dampened her smile effortlessly.

"What! Why... she deserves to know her other parent too!"

"Every child deserves to have both of their parents, Quinn!" the blonde noticed how this is the first time the other woman called her by her first name, "You say all this words, all this you've changed yada yada... but those are just words! How can I know you're not gonna get tired and just run off? How can I know that you're being serious about this or not, huh??!" Rachel exclaimed, finally saying all the thoughts she's been having since the blonde came back in their lives, before the blonde can reply, "I barely took it well when you hurt me, what makes you think a kid... a four year old can take it?!? If you choose to run off, it will completely break her, Quinn."

"I'm not gonna run off" she begged, hoping to change her mind.

"Better safe than sorry, Quinn."

They spent a few minutes of silence, busy with all the thoughts lurking on both of their minds. They've been there, quiet, for so long, the sun starts to set. "I've got to go" Rachel said.

Setting her eyes back at the pond, "She knows she has two moms, all I tell her is her other mom's too busy, but that doesn't mean she doesn't love her. She knows you hurt me, but she doesn't know it was you who hurt me."

Starting to walk away, Quinn followed her through her eyes, the brunette stopped without turning back, "I'm not doing this to hurt you, I'm doing what I think is best for my... for our daughter" and with that, she walked farther away from Quinn.
