Rachel and Quinn have been silently walking side by side the majority of the stroll while the kids and Jennifer are walking together a few steps ahead of them. They have been walking around the busy neighborhood full of excited chatters of the trick or treaters, and adorable kids and teens and even adults all dressed up for the occasion for an hour and a half now. It is now 6:30pm and they were not even half way to visiting all the houses. The parents were all tired, desperate to take a break, but they didn't have the heart to disrupt the happiness and excitement radiating on their daughters' faces. Thank goodness they ate light dinner before starting the stroll.

"Thanks for inviting me"

They have been walking in silence the whole time, not talking once except for when they greeted their pleasantries in the beginning, that Rachel was a bit spooked, pun not intended, when Quinn spoke. "We're doing this co-parenting thing, I thought why not invite you to this" she replied trying her best to sound composed, never once removing her eyes from the kids in front of them.

"Still thank you... I know you don't want me to be here" Quinn replied dubiously.

Feigning shock, "what made you think that" finally lifting her gaze to the blonde woman.

Spying Rachel's playful eyes made Quinn ease down a bit, cracking a small smile making the brunette smile back. Seeing Rachel turning her stare back ahead, she continued to gaze at this beautiful woman. Quinn can't help but feel the restrictions of her pants when she examined Rachel's whole attire. She was dressed as Sandy Olsson from Grease with her thick gold hoop earrings, black off-shoulder top, tight black leather pants with a shiny belt, and red sandals instead of heels (which is smart with all the walking). Topping her ensemble with curly messed up hair and bright cherry lips making her seem ravishing, and making Quinn's mouth water.

Returning her attention to the woman's face, she saw the way the side of her lips curved upwards into a tiny smirk. Widening her eyes and wiping the back of her hand to her mouth, checking for any drool, Quinn placed her eyes back up front. She felt a little bit embarrassed for getting caught not so subtly checking out the other woman, her ex... and baby mama.

Weird, with all the squabbling Rachel and I have done, I would've thought she would blow up for seeing me more or less leering. Huh... maybe she enjoys making me think like an hormonal teenage boy, Quinn thought while smirking, concocting a plan in her head.

As she was analyzing what actions she should do to get back at Rachel, make her a fired up mess, she noticed Rachel shivering a bit. Quinn removed the leather jacket she's wearing for her Jake Peralta style cop costume, placing it on Rachel's shoulders, offering to her.

"It's okay, I'm fine" said Rachel, trying to give it back.

Stopping her, "Rachel, you're cold just wear it" she sternly replied. "How bout you?" Rachel asked.

"Don't worry bout me"

After minutes of Rachel trying to give it back and Quinn insisting she wear it, Quinn blew a breathe, "Rachel, I can see you shivering. If you don't wear the jacket, I'd be afraid to tell Alice her momma is frozen from the cold. Wear it or would you rather I warm you up myself?" Quinn said jokingly and at the same time seriously.

With the reply, Rachel resorted to a blushing, stammering mess placing a cocky smirk on Quinn's face. Seeing the look on Quinn's face, "Give me that" glaring and grabbing the jacket and walking faster. Leaving a silently chuckling Quinn behind.

With all the teasing happening, it made both woman comfortable enough to let their walls down. They continued with the stroll with them talking about random things like who's costume is better from the other trick or treaters, and laughing when a teenager dressed as batman was running and screaming from a dog barking at him. They would take turns carrying Alice's first full bag of candies or carrying her when she got too tired to walk but not tired enough to stop.

This co-parenting thing isn't going as bad as I thought, seeing Alice being carried by Quinn, both blondes giggling at one thing or another.

It is now almost 8pm and the kids are finally tired enough to go back to Jennifer's house, which is atleast 20 minutes away by feet. Ugh why is this neighborhood so damn huge! all adults thought in a huff.

"Momma, I hungry" a pouting Alice tugged at her momma's hand. When Alice expressed her hunger, three tummy's growled. It was Chloe, Maria... and Quinn.

All heads turned to stare at Quinn, raising ger hands up, "What! You can't blame me! I'm pretty sure I burned a lot of calories from walking so long!" squeeked a wide eyed Quinn. Everyone just continued to stare at her without moving making Quinn grow fidgety and embarrassed under their gazes. Finally after atleast a minute of staring at her, Rachel... Rachel laughed making a domino effect. When she laughed, everyone started laughing and giggling.

"Come on Jen, the kids" glancing at Quinn for a second, "are hungry. And we can't let these poor babies starve" cooing at Quinn. "Hey!" Quinn pretended to be enraged.

Still giggling, "Oh Rach, I agree. Good thing there's a small diner a few more walks ahead" replied Jennifer.

The rest of the walk was spent with conversing and teasing Quinn, even the kids joined, and Rachel especially enjoyed this. Seeing the bright sign of Kelly's Diner, the children squeeled and if it wasn't for Jen holding Chloe's hand, Rachel holding Alice's hand, and Quinn holding Maria's hand, they would have ran off without bothering to look at the cars passing by.

They were all sat at the diner, waiting impatiently for their food to be served. When their waiter finally arrived with their mouthwatering meals, they could all shout for joy except the kids did, they shouted finally! loudly, making the other patrons look at their table, and the waiter almost dropping their tray.

Before anyone could start eating, "Since when do you eat meat?!?" Quinn exclaimed while staring slack jaw at Rachel's food. Quinn was sat right in front of Rachel, having a perfect view of her order.

"Pregnancy" was all she uttered, shoving her cheesy chicken sandwich in her mouth hungrily, moaning in delight. It's a good thing Quinn's sitting beside the kids' bags and bags and bags and bags of candy or else they would have seen something poking in her pants. Quinn Fabray, close your mouth and stop thinking about what sounds Rachel makes with the kids around you. Go eat your bacon, woman! Quinn thought, closing her eyes, shoving her piggy, bacon burger with lots of extra bacon.

When everyone was done eating, they all went back to the Santos household. They made the mistake of allowing the kids to drink milkshakes and they are paying the consequence by now having 3 perky and bouncy children. On the walk back, they just let them run since the streets weren't busy with people and cars, letting them use all their energy, helping them tire themselves out.

Finally reaching the house, "Hey, if you guys are too tired to travel, you can stay here. We have a guest bedroom and a pullout couch" spoke Jen.

Seeing a sleepy Alice being carried by Quinn, Rachel accepted the invitation. "How bout you, Quinn?"

"U-uhh, I'll just drop Alice to the guest room before I go" replied Quinn, making her way upstairs.

Before Rachel went up to join Alice, she went to go grab a glass of water from the kitchen, passing Jen. "What was that?" asked Jen.

Sipping water before replying, "What do you mean?" Rachel asked, genuinely lost.

"The flirting between you two" Jen nonchalantly replied causing Rachel to choke on the water she was drinking, some even spilled through her nose. Fuck! That stings like a bitch.

"What flirting?" asked a wide eyed Rachel, still coughing.

"Oh please, don't bother lying. I may have been walking with the kids, but I heard all the teasing you guys have been doing" replied Jen, smirkingly.

"T-that was not flirting! We w-were just talking! Yea! talking" spluttered Rachel.

Tapping her on the cheeks, "Sure Rach, sure." Moving out of the kitchen, Jen turned back, "I don't know what's going on between you two, but there's something there. I'm not gonna force you to tell me, but I'm here for you if you ever need to talk about it or anything at all" she replied seriously, giving a kind smile.

"I-i... I'll take you up on that offer" replied Rachel, giving a tired smile in return.

After saying their goodnights, Rachel drank another glass of water before going up. Upon reaching the guest room, her heart was filled with tenderness. Leaning on the door frame, she listened to Quinn singing a lullaby softly to a barely awake Alice, brushing her hair lightly.

You are my sunshine

My only sunshine

You make me happy

When skies are gray

You'll never know, dear

How much I love you

Please don't take my sunshine away

Kissing a sleeping Alice's forehead, she got up and turned around, stopping mid step when she found Rachel leaning on the door frame, watching her. Scratching the back of her neck, "O-oh hey, I hope I wasn't crossing a line fo–" Quinn stopped mid sentence when giggling was heard.

"It's fine. No need to panic" replied Rachel, smiling slightly.

"Oh okay" replied Quinn, chuckling awkwardly. "Well, I better go now. I uhm... thank you for inviting me Rach"

"You can stay you know, if you want" replied Rachel, not even bothering to tell Quinn to stop using her nickname.

"Nah, I think I'll just go home."

Rachel didn't exactly know why she felt disappointed with the reply, well she had an inkling but she's not ready to admit it anytime soon, "Oh... okay. Uhm you did good today. We did good today."

Chuckling, "We did. We didn't even piss off each other once." It was a surprise talking to one another comfortably. It felt nice not fighting with Rachel everytime they meet. "Well, I gotta go now."

Hiding her disappointment, "I'll walk you out."

Setting foot on the porch, "Well, I guess I'll see you guys soon?" asked Quinn uncertainly.

Giving a small smile, "Yea, you will" replied Rachel, reassuringly.

Saying goodbye to one another, Rachel surprised the both of them when she initiated a hug with Quinn. It both left them wide eyed and frozen, but a tense silence later, Quinn was weaving her arms to Rachel's petite waist, woah it doesn't even seem like Rach gave birth. Rachel nuzzled her face into the crook of Quinn's neck while Quinn dropped the side of her face to Rachel's head, smelling her a bit, berries (chuckled Quinn in her mind) and vanilla. Noticing their hug went longer for someone who is recently connecting, Rachel reluctantly parted from the embrace.

Staring at each other, "Bye Quinn. Be safe" whispered Rachel, kissing her cheek, smiling softly before going back inside.

Quinn has been staring at the door for sometime now before snapping out of her shock. Raising her hand to her left cheek, she blushed and smiled when she imagined the warm feeling Rachel left.

Rachel's back was pressed into the front door, smiling like a giddy little school girl.
