Hi everyone welcome to another chapter. This is the final chapter in the Magic Saga. So I do hope you liked this Arc.
.
The heroes all stared up at the floating magician. Who was busy studying the magical barrier. Fate was slightly impressed by it's design. Yet it still paled in comparison to his powers. With just a flick of his wrist the barrier disappeared. Vegeta and Turles stopped their brawl, turning towards the golden helmet.
"Another one of your allies, my prince?" Turles snakily asked. Vegeta wasn't paying attention however. After all he knew this person was attempting to stop his battle. However while Vegeta's sole focus was on Fate, the magician's looked towards his opponent.
"You attempt to destroy this world! You shall answer for these sins." Fate's booming voice almost frightened the pair. Meanwhile John eyes snapped open, waking up to a headache. Diana and Clark knelt down beside him.
"Are you hurt?" The Amazon princess inquired.
"Nothing that a few cigarettes can't fix..." Constantine stopped as he recognised the being in front of him. "Fate? But how is..." Suddenly it all clicked. The smoker heart fell as he knew who was the newest host of Nabu. "Z." Elsewhere, Turles remained defiant.
"I dare you to interfere. With the tree of might, I am the most powerful mortal in existence." The doppelgänger of Goku stated.
"You may be the most powerful mortal. But your powers do not even compare to that of a gods." Fate responded. A giant golden hologram of the fate symbol appeared behind him. "Now it is time to meet your fate." Turles attempted to shoot multiple Ki blasts. Yet all it seemed to accomplish was annoying the magician. In a split second Fate fires his own magical beam, one which blasted straight through Turles. Everyone gasped in shock, even Vegeta was caught unaware. Turles looked down in fear as he fell to the ground. Fate then snapped in fingers, causing the bodies of both Turles and Slug to disappear. Clark was the first to confront Doctor Fate.
"What did you do?" He questioned the magician.
"I sent them to another dimension. There they will be judged by the lords of order." Fate replied. Constantine however barged forward.
"Alright Nabu, release her!" He demanded. Fate looked over at the smoker in annoyance.
"John Constantine, I should have known. After all, you, Kent Nelson, Astra Nelson and Giovanni Zatara kept me trapped all this time. But no more. This world... All worlds, need Doctor Fate." John was in a tough spot. Fate had Zatanna's body. And was currently holding all the cards. Constantine blames himself for this. He was the one that put up that barrier. If he hadn't have been so careless, maybe Zatanna wouldn't have put on the helmet. John promised himself that no one else would ever pay for his mistakes again. And now he was going to make sure that stayed true.
"What if I offered you something in return?" Fate was slightly intrigued by this.
"What could you possibly have to bargain with?"
"My soul." Everyone looked over in shock. "My body has more magical power in it. Meaning you'll become stronger too." Fate though, thought better of it.
"What guarantees do I have that you'll honour this deal?" John sighed, releasing a magical spell. "A truth spell."
"If you release Zatanna, I'll be your puppet!"
"Very well." Fate hovered back to the ground, removing the helmet. Zatanna opened her eyes, running towards Constantine.
"I know you told me not to don the helmet. But we were in a lot of trouble..." Zatanna rambled, until John cut her off.
"It's alright." He responded, snatching away the helmet. The smoker then proceeded to look at it. "Just let me say goodbye." The female magician looked on in confusion.
"Goodbye? John, what are you talking about?" John tried to speak but couldn't. Eventually Wonder Woman stepped up.
"The one known as Doctor Fate wouldn't release your soul. So John here sacrificed his life to save yours." She answered. Zatanna looked on in disbelief and sadness.
"No John... you can't. Why are you doing this?" Zatanna demanded to know.
"Because we all do crazy things, for the people we care about." John replied. All his life John Constantine only cared for himself. Doing whatever he wanted without and thoughts for the consequences. Today that changed. For the first time in his life, Constantine did something selfless. John closed his eyes, accepting his fate. Becoming the defender of order.
.
One week later
One week had passed since the incident with Turles and Slug. A week Kara spent in her room. Only leaving for school and dinner. Kara sat at the foot of her bed. Her costume hung up on the wall. She felt like the 'S' symbol was staring at her. Judging her for all the mistakes she previously made. A knock on her door suddenly bought Kara back to reality. In the doorway stood a concerned looking Clark. Who was in his civilian clothes.
"You mind if I take a seat?" He asked, receiving a nod in reply. Clark sat next to his cousin, ready for a necessary conversation. "Gohan told me about Espia." The young girl looked down in a depressed state.
"Figured he would." She replied. Clark was about to speak but Kara stopped him. "Kal, please don't say I know what your going through... because you don't. Have you ever done something you've regretted so much? Something you wish you could have taken back?" The man of steel looked back to a picture of his parents. Before looking back to Kara.
"Actually I have." The female Kryptonian looked on in confusion. "You know about my dad on Earth right?"
"Yeah, he died while you were travelling to Namek."
"There's something I left out. Before I left, my father told me it wasn't a good idea to go to Namek. People needed my help here and Goku could handle it. I was hurt, here my father was telling me to not help people." Clark shed a tear as he carried on. "I then told him that he wasn't my father. That was the last thing I ever said to him." Kara looked in total disbelief.
"Kal... I'm so sorry."
"For so long I wished it was possible to take it back. Eventually I accepted that was impossible. And I'm okay with that."
"I just don't think Espia or her family would ever forgive me."
"Before you seek forgiveness from others. You must learn to forgive yourself." The two Kryptonian's hugged as they stared at the symbol of El. On krypton it meant hope and that was exactly what Kara needed right now.

Silas sat next to his phone, praying that Victor would phone him. There had been reports of a machine roaming in Central city. However when Waller sent a team to investigate, the machine had vanished. The darkness of night had taken over the sky. The wind picked up, rustling the white lab coat Silas wore. Gero and Waller entered the room. The latter still having a massive scowl on her face.
"Do you two morons realise what you've done? You just let a multi billion dollar weapon waltz right out of our grasp!" The head of Cadmus yelled. Silas was enraged. His son could be god knows where. Unable to control the multiple software programs in his head. And all she seemed to care about was money. It took everything Silas had not to confront her. Suddenly the phone rang. Silas instantly grabbed it. He put it on loudspeaker so the others could hear.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Hi dad." Silas gave a sigh of relief as he recognised his son's voice.
"Victor, thank god your safe. Please tell me where you are."
"Sorry dad, I can't do that." Silas felt his entire body go numb. Victor didn't want to return.
"Son, I know you hate me for what I did. You must understand that this was the only way."
"I don't hate you dad. I understand that you did it to save my life. However with this mechanical body, my old life is over. I know now that it doesn't have to be a bad thing." Silas shed a tear as he listened in. Even Gero struggled to hold his emotions in. Unbeknownst to the others, he faced a similar situation before. "Nevertheless I need to start a new life... away from you." Silas could tell that Victor was struggling to do this. "Goodbye dad."
And with those final words Victor hung up. Waller stormed out the room. Heading straight for the bottle of whiskey on her desk. Leaving the two scientists by themselves.
"Here I think you need this." Gero said, offering a cigarette. On any other day Silas would have instantly rejected it. However with the day he had, Silas instantly grabbed it. The dark skinned scientist thanked his colleague as, together they watched the moon shine.
.
Zatanna sat on the snow, looking up to the sky. Up above her, the northern lights illuminated. It was the place that she always wanted to visit, but never had a chance. Now she had the power to transport herself here, but no one to share her excitement with. The magician should have been happy. Her dream had finally become a reality. And yet she couldn't stop thinking about her father and John. Two people she cared for, gone in a blink of an eye. The feeling of despair was flowing through her body. Seeming staying for a long period of time. Zatanna soon turned around, shocked to see Flash standing behind her.
"How did you even find me?" She questioned him.
"Kami told me where you were." The speedster replied, earning a confused look. "It's a long story. I just wanted to check on how you were doing?" Zatanna looked back up at the lights.
"You ever lost a parent?" Barry briefly looked away, thinking back to the night that changed his life.
"Yeah... I have."
"Then you know exactly how I'm feeling." The lack of any emotion shook Flash. "Would you please just leave me alone." The hero of Central city wanted to continue, but thought better of it. Zatanna needed some time and space to heal. Nevertheless he wasn't entirely finished helping her.
"Look if you need to talk at any point. Come down to Central city. My door is always open." And with that, Barry ran back to his home. Zatanna stared up to the sky. Was she wrong to talk to him that way? He was trying to help. She briefly closed her eyes in frustration. However when she opened them back up again, the scenery was different. The magician found herself in a familiar environment.
"The house of mystery? How'd I end up here?"
"I bought you here." A voice quietly stated. Zatanna turned around to see what looked like a hologram of Superman.
"What are you doing?'' There was a hunt of fear in her voice.
"We had a discussion about what happened. And decided that your powers are too dangerous." Zatanna felt her heart beat ten times faster. They were going to lock her up! "The fridge restocks food of beverages. You'll have a warm bed and shelter."
"Please don't do this!" She pleaded, only to fall on deaf ears. Superman disappeared, leaving the distressed girl. "Let me out! Let me out!"
.
The tall figure of superman walked down a dark hallway. The man looked both ways before morphing into another form. The golden helmet of dr fate appeared. The magician carried on, reaching an old abandoned temple. In it stood a cloaked figure, irradiating a blue light. Fate kneeled in front of the cloaked figure.
"My master." Fate whispered. The cloaked figure had his back turned, looking up at the night sky.
"At first glance you'd think stars are dazzling, would you not?" The cloak figure said. "Humanity once believed that each star was an angel. Sent from heaven to watch over the innocent. A beautiful lie. Yet in their quest for answers they revealed the ugly truth. Stars were actually just a luminous spheroid of plasma, held together by their own gravity." Fate was curious to see what the point to all this was. "Humanity built their empires through beautiful lies, because they weren't ready for the ugly truth. Miss Zatanna must experience this."
"Was all this your plan? My master, I have served you faithfully through the years. This time however, I must ask you why? Why let Zatanna access those memories? Why unlock Barry Allan's time travel abilities? Or disrupt Victor Stone's mechanical parts? And why lock up the young woman?" Nabu was pressing hard, but his master firmly stood his ground.
"Miss Zatanna still has a part to play in this tale. At this point however, she must be removed from the board."
"And what of the heroes?"
"They must learn to get stronger on their own. We will only interfere when necessary." Doctor Fate bowed and teleported from the building. The cloaked figure looked up at the sky once more, thinking about those heroes. Knowing they had to get a lot stronger. Their greatest battle was coming. And to end up victorious. They would need to gain strength beyond their wildest imagination.
.
So I hoped you enjoyed this arc and the ending. So we meet the cloaked figure in this chapter. What are his intentions? Well I'm not ready to reveal them yet.
There will be two maybe three chapters before the next arc which I'm going to reveal more details now.
The next arc will be.
.
The Flashpoint Saga
.
So I'm pretty sure all of you know the story. However I'm putting my own spin on it with the universe I've created. So I do hope you enjoy that. Now it's time for some reviews.
.
Joseph Powers: I always imagined a scene like that. So when I was writing it it kind of reminded me of that moment in infinity war.
DragonDave45: Bojack is a definitive no. Broly is a definitive yes. I'm not sure I'm going to do a buu saga. So I'll put buu as a maybe.
Aguy1013: Yes sir!
X3runner:
1: It's always something I liked about Goku. No matter how much power he gains. He wants others to grow with him.
2: That young justice episode was the inspiration for that bit. But obviously I put John instead. It was just the best way to end his character arc.
Senua- thepickwarrior: Saiyan biology 101
Victor0606: Thanks
Cruden: There will be a definitive answer to Trunks heritage soon.
Super zero cyrax: That would be spoilers I'm afraid.
Celgress:
1: Thanks
2: Good guess. Though not revealing anything yet.
Jalen Johnson: Cooler will return, but not for a while. But yes after the next arc it's androids.
Guest 1: You have your answer
Guest 2: consult previous answer
Guest 3: Fate will not be a member of the team.
