Hi everyone here is another chapter for you all.
.
Barry, Nora, Thomas and Oliver all stood around Goku's prison cell. The Saiyan was still feeling the effects of Bulma's knockout gas. Barry felt uneasy about interrogating his friend. Although he realised it wasn't the Goku he knew, it still hurt. The Saiyan soon awoke as Batman threw a bucket of water at him. After witnessing his captors the Prince tried desperately to break free. Though he had no luck on his side.
"Don't bother we stole those cuffs from one your own concentration camps. You're not going anywhere." The Saiyan gave one last push to try and break free. Which of course he failed. After that glaring at resistance, not speaking a single syllable.
"Prince Kakarot, my name is General Nora Allen." The resistance leader introduced herself. "We'd like to ask you a few questions." Again silence prolonged. "One of our friends was captured during the raid. Where would your soldiers have taken her?" This question peaked the Saiyan warriors interest.
"If your friend was captured. Then she is most likely dead." He replied, sounding amused. It took everything Nora had not to retaliate in anyway.
"Where are the locations of your concentration camps?" Once again though the general was met by silence. Thomas especially started to become agitated.
"This is getting us nowhere." He blurted out. "Give me thirty minutes alone and I'll make him talk." The Dark Knight found himself drawing on of his pistols. "Fifteen years these aliens have tortured us. I believe it's time for some payback!" As Thomas rambled on, a thought came to Barry. Theories turned into fact as realisation set in.
"Fifteen years." Barry muttered to himself.
"What was that?" Nora asked her son.
"Give me ten minutes with him!" Everyone looked at the speedster confused. "I can get him to talk." The looks of bewilderment came across all faces.
"Listen this isn't something you..." Batman couldn't finish his argument due to being cut off by the general.
"Do as he says." She ordered. Oliver was a little surprised by this, though not nearly as much as his compatriot.
"You have got to be joking?" The two glared at one another as Thomas conceded defeat. Everyone left the room, leaving just Barry and the chained Goku. The speedster sat down, rocking back on his chair.
"Is this what you Earthlings call the good cop, bad cop routine?" Goku asked.
"Well there's only one of me so that's physically impossible. Plus I don't need a routine to get what I want." Barry responded, showing little emotion.
"You overestimate your abilities."
"I may not be the worlds greatest detective, but I think I'm decent enough. You see, your people invaded our planet fifteen years ago. However you are twenty eight years old right now. Meaning that the first thirteen years of your life were spent elsewhere. At first I thought you'd just been raised at planet Vegeta. Until I remembered that the reason you invaded, was our Senzu beans. There's no way you could have found out about them though. They could only be found on Kami's lookout. Therefore there must have been another reason for you to come here. Isn't that right... Goku?" The once calm and collected expression from Goku had disappeared. The only expression conveyed now, was one of contempt.
"How do you know that name?"
"I know a lot things about you Goku." The Saiyan got up and slammed his body into the cell door.
"Don't call me that!" Barry chose to ignore him though.
"For instance I know you were raised by your Grandpa Gohan." Goku's temper seemed to flare up. "What would he say if he saw you now?"
"I don't care what some weak, foolish old man would think of me. I am the prince of all Saiyan's." Deep down Barry found it somewhat amusing how Goku was acting so much like Vegeta. Though that was buried under the pain. "He was just a hurdle, attempting to stop me from reaching my full potential."
"And what potential is that? A genocidal maniac?"
"A warrior! One that isn't refrained by emotions." The Scarlet Speedster shook his head in disappointment.
"Gohan took you in. Raised you like one of his own. Do all those memories mean nothing to you?" The Prince smirked, though he didn't actually answer the question. "At least answer me this, how did he die?" Soon Goku's smirked disappeared. He was unable to Barry in the eye. Who took a step back in utter disgust. "It was you wasn't it?" Goku once again didn't answer him. "You killed your grandfather? What child would do that to their own parent?" Barry turned away, ready to leave. "This was a mistake." The speedster reached the door handle before a call made him stop.
"Wait! If you answer me one question, I'll let you in on my own secret." Barry turned back and sat down.
"Shoot."
"How do you know so much about my past?"
"Believe it or not I'm from another timeline. One where you forgot all those memories of Planet Vegeta. Where you fought not for glory, or domination. You fought simply to get stronger. And you saved a hell of a lot of people along the way." The Saiyan laughed after hearing that response.
"That answer is so ridiculous that I honestly believe it. Very well a deal's a deal. You're friend is still alive." Barry heart skipped a beat when he heard that. A smile even crept up his face. "She's being held at the new royal building. Located at what you call 'The White House'." Barry had to give it to the Saiyan's they sure knew how to pick a good place. "Once she's been broken they'll storm this place and kill you all. And they'll make sure it'll be by tomorrow morning. Or else my father will be very displeased." Barry's head jolted towards the bars when he heard that.
"The King is coming here? Tomorrow?" This suddenly gave Barry a great idea. "Thanks Goku."
"It's Kakarot!"
"You'll always be Goku to me!"
.
"You want to do what?" Nora screamed at Barry as he explained his plan to her, Thomas and Oliver. They were all huddled in Nora's office.
"If I challenge the king to a fight and win. Not only will he release Bulma, but The Saiyan's will leave this planet." Barry explained.
"That's still a huge if." Oliver argued.
"There's no guarantee that he'll even accept your challenge." Nora added.
"I have to try though. Just think, if I win there would be no more bloodshed, no more hiding, no more death." Barry said.
"Except yours. I'm sorry Barry. I want to rescue Atom just as much as you. But I will not risk the lives of this team to do it. Now I need to prepare for an evacuation. If Atom does crack then we'll need to find a new home base. Dismissed." The three men walked outside.
"You're still going aren't you?" Oliver asked the hero of Central City.
"Of course I am. Will you help me?" Barry replied. The archer smiled as he took two steps forward. "I'm with you every step of the way." The two shook hands, solidifying the bond they had built. Before turning to Thomas who looked very displeased.
"Absolutely not! You're risking not only your lives, but this entire resistance's existence. I will not be apart of this sham." Thomas explained.
"Bats... I get it. This is the biggest risk we've ever taken. Chances are this thing is gonna go wrong and we'll all die. But I can't just stay and hope for something to change. We need to make it happen." Oliver added. The Caped Crusader glared at the two. Although Barry glared back as he walked past him.
"Bruce would've come." The Scarlet Speedster said. Oliver joined Barry as the two walked down the hall. Batman took a deep breath as he stopped the two.
"Alright I'm in. But we're short a person." Batman noted.
"Don't you worry. Once again I know just the person."
.
"No!" An angry Wally answered Barry's question. The two were asking through the hallway towards the main hall. "And I mean it this time."
"Wally I could really use some backup." The elder speedster requested. "We're going in short handed.
"Look going on one of your infiltration missions is one thing. But challenging the Saiyan King to a fight? That's insanity! And I don't want any part of it." Wally pushed himself past Barry, who in turned put his hand on the teenagers shoulder.
"We have a chance to end this war."
"No you are certain to die trying. And unlike you it seems, I value my life."
"So what you're just going to run and hide?"
"If that saves my life then yes. I would gladly hide if it meant I could live on another day."
"And all those people the Saiyan's will kill from here on out. Do you not care if they get to live another day?"
"More people will die if you and your friends bite the bullet. You may think you're invincible, but your not!"
"You're right... I'm not invincible. No one is. But that fact shouldn't be holding anyone back. We all have something to lose. But we have to move, and we have to move now!" Wally shrugged Barry off.
"I'll make sure to put that on your gravestone." Barry was now angry. He had tried everything yet Wally still persisted.
"You know... You once told me that you were sick of being too late for everything. But now I know the truth. You like being late, because it gives you an excuse not to help." Barry kept walking down the hall leaving a guilt ridden Wally. Part of the red haired boy wanted to go with him. Deep down he knew it was the right thing to do. Yet his feet stayed firmly planted to the floor. This plan of his was foolish. They were all clueless and idiotic. This plan was going to end in failure and certain death. Then again one thing kept swirling around his mind. Was he right to turn Barry down?
.
The elder speedster meanwhile had made his way into the main hall. However Barry hid behind the door when he saw his mother speaking to all the civilians living there. The general stood on a table, surrounded by the people.
"Our new base is located three hundred miles north of here. We will be departing at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning." Nora announced. She could tell that skepticism was at an all time high. "I understand how you all feel. We've already lost our homes... friends... family. And we're facing an enemy that outclasses us in every way. But do you know the reason why we're still alive and kicking? It's because each and every one of you has hope. That is something our enemy will never understand!" A few voices finally started to cheer. "I'll tell you, I dream of a world where our humanity won't face danger. Where children won't go hungry. And as long as we have hope. That future is within our grasp!" The cheers were now deafening. The entire hall was now in applause. Nora however was distracted by a little girl humming. "What's your name little one?"
"M... Mary." The little girl replied.
"What are humming, Mary?"
"A song my dad used to sing me. He said it was from a show called 'Les Miserable'. Nora smirked at that answer.
"Do you mean 'Les Misérables'." The girl nodded.
"He used to sing it to me when I felt scared." Nora smiled as she cleared her throat.
.
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is a music of a people who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
.
As Mary smiled at hearing the song again, a few others started to join Nora in song.
.
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!
.
Now the entire hall were singing their hearts out.
.
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start

.
Barry's heart warmed as he watched the people erupt into song. Before turning away.
"Sorry mum." He whispered as he ran away. Although everyone else was too engrossed by there voices.
.
Will you give all you can give
So that our banner may advance
Some will fall and some will live
Will you stand up and take your chance?
The blood of the martyrs
Will water the meadows of France!
