Rosie was rechecking her packed bag for the twelfth time. Dave peaked in.

"You ready? We have to get going." Dave said

Dave and Aaron had decided to have a bonding weekend. Emily was in the state for a few days, and everyone missed her since she moved to London. Alex had been invited but she was unable to go. Which was abit disappointing, but this was the only weekend they could do it if they wanted to include Emily. They would do another weekend some other time with Alex included.

"I think so." Rosie said

Dave started listing everything she would need.

Rosie doubled checked she had everything. And more.

"Got it all." Rosie said

"Than your ready. Lets go." Dave said.

Rosie zipped up her bag and Dave grabbed it, and they went down to the car. Dave put both their bags in the back and they both got in and started the drive towards Spencer's place. He was tagging along with them.

They pulled up and Spencer put his bag in the back as well. Rosie climbed out of the passenger seat and into the back leaving the passenger seat for Spencer.

Spencer got in and they started the drive to the cabin. It was a couple hours away.

"Enjoying your summer?" Spencer asked

"Yes. Enjoying the pool especially with this heat." Rosie said

"She's been diving. She's pretty good." Dave said

"I used to be better." Rosie said

"You'll get it back." Dave said

Rosie nodded.

"Didn't know you dived." Spencer said

"Just for fun. But yeah." Rosie said

Meanwhile Aaron was driving up with Jack and Emily, Derek & Penelope. And JJ was driving up with Will and Henry.

They all got to the cabin, and everyone got out. Henry ran and hid behind Spencer legs.

Spencer looked down at the boy. "Hey Henry! How are you?"

Henry looked up with big eyes. "Daddy's mad."

Spencer held back a chuckle. "Oh? Why?"

Henry shrugged.

Spencer looked up at Will and JJ.

"He got a tad bit bored on the ride here and took to throwing his goldfish at us." JJ told Spencer and went to pick up her kid who clung to Spencer's leg.

Spencer helped JJ get him off. "Sorry. I'm more scared of your mom than you are." Spencer told the kid with a sympathetic smile.

"I'm scary now?" JJ asked

"If I tried to interfere in your parenting?" Spencer asked

"Good point." JJ said with a small chuckle. She took the squirming boy inside the cabin. Slowly everyone went inside and found rooms.

Rosie looked around. This cabin. Was more like a house with sheer size it was. It was bigger than her home that's for sure. And her home was huge.

Rosie put her bag on the bed in the smallest room. She didn't mind. She wasn't going to be in the room for more than to sleep anyways. It was a pretty room even though it was small. It had a twin bed in one corner a small bedside table and dresser. And a small closet. It was a pastel pink color and had touches of yellow. It had a big window that took up half of one of the walls and looked right out to the lake that was on the property.

Jack knocked on her open door.

Rosie looked up and smiled. "Can you take me to the lake?"

"Um. Is your dad okay with it?" Rosie asked

"He said he'd take me later, but I thought if you wanted to go with me now. I could tell him." Jack said

"I think you should ask him first. He might want to be with you when you are in the water." Rosie said

Jack grabbed her hand and pulled her to Aaron.

"Rosie said she'd take me to the lake." Jack said

"Um. Not exactly what I said Jack." Rosie said quickly

Aaron looked down at his son. "What did she say?" Wanting to give the boy a chance to clarify.

"Well. She said to ask you…" Jack said

"Because he might want to be with you when your in the water." Rosie finished.

"She's right bud. The water can be dangerous. I'd rather be there." Aaron said

Jack sulked but ran off.

Aaron looked at Rosie.

"To be clear. Not because I don't trust you." Aaron told her.

Rosie nodded. "I get it. To be honest. Wouldn't be the most comfortable being responsible for a kid in a lake so big…"

Aaron nodded. "Don't be afraid to tell Jack that. Its okay."

Rosie nodded.

"I'm not sure I want you out there alone either." Dave told his daughter.

"Really?" Rosie asked.

"Doesn't have to be me. Just. Not alone." Dave said

"I'm alone in the pool all the time." Rosie pointed out

"Yes. But that's not a lake. That you don't know. That you pointed out is quite large." Dave said

Rosie rolled her eyes. "Fine."

Dave raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms at his daughter.

"Sorry." She said quickly before going off.

Aaron smirked at Dave. "Haven't gotten her to kick that habit?"

Dave shook his head. "Honestly. I think it might be in her DNA."

Aaron tilted his head.

"Her mother did it. A lot." Dave said.

"Aah. Well like mother like daughter?" Aaron asked

"Yeah. She doesn't just have her eyes." Dave said. "She has her spunky personality and willingness to help anyone."

"That last quality. Is not a bad one. Neither is a spunky personality. For the most part." Derek said as he was coming into the end of the conversation.

"You are correct." Dave told him

Once everyone was settled. A few people did go out to the water.

Rosie went with them. As she passed her father he put a hand on her shoulder and spoke quietly. "Do not. Roll your eyes at me again."

"Yes sir. Sorry." She said

Dave nodded. "Go. Have fun." he let her go.

Rosie went out and joined the few others that were out there. Aaron was out there with Jack and Spencer with Henry. Emily also was out there. They all swam and had a good time while everyone else was inside and prepping for dinner. They had agreed to take turns making the meals through-out the weekend.

Rosie noticed that Emily and Aaron were acting almost like a couple. Rosie raised an eyebrow. She looked at Spencer and nodded to them.

Spencer looked while keeping his hands on Henry. "Don't you worry about that." Spencer said.

Rosie laughed. "I'll keep my mouth shut." She said softly

Spencer nodded.

Henry squirmed and started to swim towards Rosie who was a few feet away from them.

Rosie grabbed him when he was within her grasp. "You're a really good swimmer." She said.

Henry squirmed and swam back to Spencer.

Jack swam over to Rosie.

"You're a good swimmer too Jack." Rosie said.

"Thanks!" Jack said before swimming back to his dad.

Soon they could smell the BBQ going and it smelt good.

Everyone got out of the water and dried off before going and joining the others.

Rosie and Emily set the table.

"You enjoying London?" Rosie asked

"Loving it." Emily said

"Maybe I'll have to convince my dad to take a trip there to see London. And visit you." Rosie said

"Would love that." Emily said

"Make sure to time it so a certain man isn't there at the same time." Rosie said with a smirk

Emily raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"Nothing." Rosie said with a smirk before she went to help Jack with something.

Emily went inside. "I think our secret has been discovered." She said to Aaron who was grabbing drinks for everyone.

"Well. We do work with profilers. What were you expecting?" Aaron asked

"Oh. See. That wouldn't have surprised me. But a fifteen-year-old figuring it out." Emily said

"Ah. She is quite clever." Aaron said

"Like father like daughter?" Emily asked with a chuckle.

"I guess so. You think we should let people know or is she going to keep it quiet?" Aaron asked

"I don't think she plans on saying anything." Emily said

"Okay. We will see how things play out." Aaron said the two going outside with drinks for everyone.

After everyone ate a bonfire was started.

Soon Henry came over to Rosie and put his arms up.

Rosie smiled and picked him up and put him in her lap.

JJ was next to Dave. "Henry loves her." she said to Dave

Dave nodded. "All kids really seem to."

"Kids are some of the best judges of characters. Means she's a really good person." JJ said

Dave nodded. "I'm glad that the hell she went through. Hasn't made her a hateful person."

"She's too kind for that." JJ said

"Agreed." Dave said.

"And they say the first two years of a persons life plays a huge role in who a person is. So. That means you did good those two years." JJ said

Dave smiled. "Thank you for that."

Marshmallows and roasting sticks where passed around. Rosie looked up at Will who was closer to her than JJ. "He can have one I take it?"

Will smiled. "Of course."

Rosie roasted two marshmallows. And made a couple smores giving one to Henry and eating one herself.

They all talked and enjoyed their smores. Not much time passed before Henry fell asleep in Rosie's arms. And a couple hours later JJ went and took him from her.

"How long has he been asleep?" JJ asked

"A while." Rosie said

JJ smiled and took him inside.

Aaron took his sleeping son inside too.

Soon after the fire was out. They doused it with water to make sure it stayed out and they all went inside, and all got ready for bed.

/\/\/\/\

Rosie was the first one up the next morning. She looked at the time. 5:30am.

"Why am I awake this early. On a weekend." She mumbled to herself. And she wasn't tired at all. Clearly her body was ready to be awake.

She got up and got dressed before heading outside with her camera. She started taking photos of the sunrise and walking around the property snapping photos of other things. Including some wildlife, she had never seen up close before. The benefit of being in the middle of nowhere.

When she was done taking pictures she went and sat at the end of the peer on the water her feet dangling in.

Around 7 someone came and sat next to her. She looked up at her dad. "Morning." She said

"How long have you been awake?" Dave asked

"Since 5:30. I think my brain knew there was going to be a lot of opportunities for beautiful pictures." Rosie said

Dave smiled. "Get enough sleep at least?"

Rosie nodded. "I'm not tired."

"Good." Dave said.

"This place is beautiful." Rosie said

"It is." Dave agreed

"We need to get a group picture of everyone. Maybe as the sun is setting tonight?" Rosie said

"Okay. We will suggested it to the others." Dave said

Rosie smiled. "I should probably get inside. I'm part of breakfast crew." Rosie said.

They both got up and went inside and Rosie started to work with Emily to make breakfast for everyone.

Once everyone had eaten and digested everyone got into swimsuits and go covered in sunscreen before heading outside to enjoy the water and small beach.

A lot of water sport equipment was brought out of a storage structure that was on the property.

Rosie took a lot of photos that day of everyone. She had truly embraced her passion of photography and was getting better all the time.

After lunch that day everyone had gone inside as it was starting to rain. It wasn't supposed to rain for long so the would be back outside soon. Everyone was pretty worn out for the sun already anyways, so a small nap was in order.

Everyone went and passed out for about an hour. Rosie was awoken by a small knock on her door.

"Yes?" She said as she woke up.

Henry came in. "Rain stopped. You take me out swim?"

"Sorry Henry. You have to wait for your mom or dad." Rosie said

"But they asleep." Henry said

Rosie smiled. "So, wait till they wake up."

"Well. I'm go!" Henry said with a hump closing her door and going towards the door.

Rosie shot out of bed and ran out her room. "No. Henry. You are not." She said sternly

"Yes. I am!" He said loudly continuing to the door. Rosie followed him quickly going to grab him and Henry bit her finger hard causing Rosie to yelp and drop him.

The commotion had woken up Spencer who came out to see the boy running out the house and Rosie rubbing at her hand.

"He is going out to the lake. I tried to stop him." Rosie said panicked.

Spencer ran after his godson picking him up and swatting his butt and bringing the now screaming child into the house causing JJ and Will to come running out at the sound of there son screaming.

"What happened?" JJ asked

"He came to my room asked me to take him swimming. I told him he had to wait for you or Will. He didn't want to wait so he told me he was going and ran for the door. I ran after and tried to grab him. He bit me and kept running." Rosie started in tears

"I came out at the commotion and Rosie told me what was going on. I went out and grabbed him. Swatted his butt. Hence the screaming." Spencer finished.

JJ took her son from Spencer. "Henry. You were told no. You need to learn to listen." She scolded swatted his butt as well before setting him in timeout.

Will looked at Rosie. "Did he bite hard? You okay?"

"I'm fine." Rosie said rubbing at the spot still.

"Let me see." Will said

"I'm okay." She said

"Rosie. I'm not asking. Show me." He said sternly

Rosie showed him. The boy had bitten hard and had broken the skin slightly.

"Don't move." Will told her before going and grabbing a first aid kit and bringing it over and pulling out something to disinfect it. And than putting a bandaid on it.

"Kid bites hard." Rosie said

Will nodded. "Well, when someone wants their way."

"He didn't try to bite Spencer." Rosie said

"I was prepared for him to try to get away. And he knows he wouldn't get away with it with me. He wont with you either, but he already knows better with me." Spencer said. He was close by

Rosie nodded.

JJ came over.

"I tried to stop him. I'm sorry." Rosie said

"No. Rose. You do not need to apologize. You did everything you could. You handled that situation well." JJ said "We know you tried to stop it. He should have listened to the no in the first place."

Rosie nodded.

"I mean it. I'm not upset with you." JJ assured her

Rosie nodded

"How bad was the bite?" JJ asked

"Not that bad." Rosie said

"He broke the skin." Will said

JJ sighed. "That's pretty bad."

"Its fine." Rosie said

"I took care of it." Will told JJ

People were coming out the room. Dave saw Rosie talking to Will, JJ and Spencer and looking upset. He noticed the young boy sitting on a chair arms crossed sulking.

"What happened?" Dave asked

Rosie sighed.

Spencer explained what happened.

"I'm okay." Rosie said holding back tears.

Dave wrapped her in a hug. "You did good kid." He said

"He got away from me…" Rosie said

"But you kept him safe till someone else could help." Dave said

"Rose. Its not your fault." Will assured her before going over to his son and bending his knees to come to meet his height.

"What you did was not okay Henry. You were told no. You know you are supposed to listen to Rosie. Especially when mommy and I are not there. She told you no. And to wait for us. And you went to go anyways. And when she tried to stop you. You bit her. That was not nice. You really hurt her. And Rosie has never been anything but kind to you." Will scolded.

"I want swim!" Henry said

"I know you wanted to swim. But you should have waited. Because you were told to." Will told him. "When someone tells you no there is a good reason. Swimming can be dangerous, and Rosie didn't want to take on that responsibility because you could get very hurt if you are not watched close enough. Rosie isn't even supposed to go in the water by herself. No one ever should swim by themselves." Will told him.

Henry huffed.

"Do you understand want you did was wrong?" Will asked

Henry nodded abit.

"Do you think you need to say sorry to Rosie?" Will asked

Henry huffed again.

"I asked you a question Henry." Will said sternly

Henry nodded.

"Are you going to say sorry?" Will asked

Henry nodded.

Will stood up. "Go." He said

Henry went over and mumbled a quick apology and went to go.

"Ah. No." JJ said. "I don't think she heard you."

Henry huffed and looked back at Rosie.

"Sowwy." He said clearly

Rosie nodded. "Its forgiven."

Henry hugged her. Rosie hugged him and Henry went off.

"You're sure your okay?" Will asked her

"Yes." Rosie said.

They went leaving her alone.

Rosie went outside and went for down to the water. She put her feet in the water waiting till Aaron, Emily, Derek, and Penny came out and Rosie got in as well and started to swim further out. Soon everyone was in the water. JJ & Emily with Will and Aaron were playing shoulder wars. Dave was filming it on his phone.

Rosie was pretty far out, and she noticed a little body swimming towards her. It was Jack. She also could tell he was getting pretty tired. She swam towards him grabbing him. "Buddy. You cant swim this far out alone."

"You were here." Jack said

"Would you have made it to me if I didn't come closer?" Rosie asked

Jack looked down. "Don't tell my daddy." He pleaded.

Rosie walked him back to the group not making any promises.

"Jack! Where did you go?" Aaron asked

"I- was swimming with Rosie." Jack said

Aaron looked at Rosie.

"I was swimming quite a way out. I saw him coming towards me." Rosie said

"How far out?" Aaron asked

"Far enough that Jack wouldn't have made it if I didn't move towards him." Rosie told her uncle

"Jack. You were supposed to stay close." Aaron said

"But you were busy, and I wanted to swim." Jack said

"You could have swam close to us." Aaron said

"Rosie got to go far out!" Jack said

"Rosie. Is a much stronger swimmer than you are." Aaron said "And you weren't really with her. You were swimming to her. And its lucky she saw you weren't going to make it and came to you. You could have drowned before she could have reached you otherwise." Aaron added

"I wasn't gonna drown." Jack said

"How much further would he have made it. Do you think?" Aaron asked Rosie.

"Not much. When I got to him he grabbed on to me tight. He was already struggling to keep himself afloat." Rosie told him

"Thank you." Aaron told her

Rosie got out of the water and wrapped herself in a towel and went and sat in one of the deck chairs and looked at her phone. She had a missed text.

'Hey. Long time no talk. I know I'm probably one of the last people you want to hear from, but I miss you.' The text said

The text was from Lexi.

Rosie looked over at the lake making sure everyone was still out there before she texted back.

'Well. I don't particularly want to talk to someone who wont accept me for who I am.' Rosie texted back 'And how do I know this isn't Paige with Lexi's phone again?' Rosie texted back

Lexi sent her a word that only she and Rosie would understand 'And I still think in time you will come back to the right side of thinking.'

Rosie rolled her eyes. 'DON'T text me again.' She put her phone down hard.

"You okay?" Derek asked

Rosie looked up she hadn't noticed him there. "Yeah. Just some people never change."

Derek nodded. "You want to talk about it?"

"No. But thanks." Rosie said

Dinner prep was underway. Was a BBQ again.

Rosie made the mistake of leaving her phone on a table next to the group when she went to help Jack and Henry fly kites.

Her phone went off with a text and Spencer's phone was next to it and he assumed it was his he looked and saw the text slowly disappear but saw who it was from.

"I'm assuming Rosie hasn't heard anything from those two girls who she was friends with from California?" Spencer asked

"Nope. We have a no contact order with Paige. And Lexi parents don't allow Lexi to text her and frankly I don't want Rosie texting her either." Dave said

"Good." Emily said. "Those girls have been awful to her. When I took her for that spa day she told me about how they had been treating her till she went no contact with them. And how they were awful to others to. Rosie is to kind to be friends with them."

"Why?" Dave asked Spencer

"Just curious." Spencer said. He wanted to give Rosie a chance to tell him.

When food was ready the kids were called. Before she would let anyone eat Rosie insisted on the picture of everyone as the sun was started to set. They all got into position fast and got the picture taken. A few different shots to make sure there were good ones.

Rosie looked at her phone when she sat down, and Spencer watched to see if there was any reaction. Rosie sighed.

"You okay?" Spencer asked

Rosie looked up at him debating telling him.

"I wasn't trying to invade your privacy. But your phone was next to mine. Heard a vibration. Looked down. Saw who the text was coming from." He said quietly making sure no one else heard.

Rosie's eyes went wide. "Did you tell my dad?" she asked quietly

"No. But I cant promise I wont." Spencer said

Rosie nodded and looked down.

"Have you been texting with her?" Spencer asked

"A couple texts. She hasn't changed." Rosie said

"Your not supposed to be texting with her at all." Spencer pointed out

Rosie nodded.

"You need to tell your dad. Or I will." Spencer said

Rosie sighed. "Spencer. Please. I wont text with her again. I promise."

"I'm sorry but I cant keep this from him." Spencer said

"Sure, you can. Its no big deal." Rosie said

"Rosie. Tell him or I will. I will not argue with you about it. Try and continue to argue and I will tell him right now." Spencer said

"Spencer please. You don't understand." Rosie said

Spencer got up and went over to Dave. He wasn't kidding. He took him aside.

"Okay. I wasn't completely honest with you about why I was asking if Rosie was talking to either of the girls. I noticed a text come across her phone. From Lexi. I wanted to give her a chance to talk to you herself. I asked her about it. She wasn't going to come tell you." Spencer told Dave

Dave noticed Rosie trying to sneak away. "Rosie Bianca Rossi get over here. -Now." He said loudly

Rosie flinched.

"I will not ask again. Now." Dave said

Rosie went over slowly.

"Thank you for letting me know Spencer." Dave said

Spencer went back to join the others.

"Show me the texts." He said

Rosie sighed. "No."

"I'm sorry I thought it was clear. That wasn't a question. Do not make this harder on yourself than it already is." Dave said.

Rosie unlocked her phone and opened the text conversation and showed her dad.

Dave read through them. "Any texts before this that you deleted?"

"No." Rosie said

"This last text is outright bullying. And you weren't going to tell me?" Dave asked. He had calmed down.

"I just didn't want to cause more issues. I just wanted to let it go. I'm finally happy dad. And I don't want her to bring me down. I gave her a shot to be a real friend again. And she blew it. I told her not to text me again. I can handle it." Rosie said

"Okay. I get not wanting to bring up more drama. And I'm glad your happy. But you need to tell me about these things." Dave said

"Why so you can call her mother and just complicate something that I can handle on my own?" Rosie asked "We are not little girls anymore. We can figure out our own issues. There is no legal reason why we cant text each other. If it was Paige I would have told you." Rosie said

"I'm taking that word she said to you is how you know for sure its her?" Dave asked

"Yes." Rosie said

"Not something she would have told Paige?" Dave asked

"No. She wouldn't have." Rosie said

"How can you be sure?" Dave said

"Because Paige would not still be her friend. Look its along story. And one that is not mine to share. Regardless of how Lexi treats me. Its her story." Rosie said

"Okay." Dave said. "I get that. But I don't get you not just telling me. I don't like that I had to hear it from Spencer."

"Well. I asked him not to tell you." Rosie said

"Were you going to?" Dave asked

"No." Rosie said. "Because I can handle it. Myself."

Dave sighed. "Seems we are just going to go in circles with this."

"Don't disagree." Rosie said

"You know that I don't want you talking to Lexi. Period. And she is not supposed to be talking to you either. And regardless of if I agree with the way they parent I have to respect their right to tell their daughter not to text you. And you need to respect me by following my rules." Dave said

"Dad. What if Lexi changed? What is she came around to accepting me? Would you be okay with us talking?" Rosie asked

"If her parents were also on board. Or when you are both adults yes." Dave said

"So. How am I supposed to know if she has changed without talking to her? You saw the texts. I verified it was her. Asked her if she was ready to accept me for who I was and when she said no I told her not to text me again. And yes she ignored that but. I have handled far worse than a few nasty words." Rosie said "If she ever makes threats or it becomes more than I can handle. I will tell you. But I can handle this." Rosie told her dad. "I know you lost a little girl. But I'm not that little girl anymore. I need you to let me handle my own problems. To a certain extent. I understand if there is a danger or more than I can handle. I need to tell you but please let me handle what I can myself." Rosie said

Dave let out a breath.

"You cant protect me from the bad evil world forever." Rosie said

Dave chuckled. "I know. I wish I could, but I know you are growing up."

"And I have come along way from even last year. And you are the biggest part of that. You have made me strong. I can handle this." Rosie said

Dave nodded. "Okay."

They hugged.

"So, I'm not in trouble?" She asked

"No." He said.

They both went and sat back with the group.

Rosie narrowed her eyes at Spencer.

"Be angry at me. I don't care." Spencer said

Rosie shook her head and got up and went for a walk. She walked quite far and found another dock on the other side of the lake. Rosie sat down and looked at her phone. She texted a boy she had a crush on.

'Hey. How's your summer?' Rosie sent

'Hey! Its been great. Yours?' He sent back

'Has had its ups and down.' Rosie said

'Ah. You want to talk?' He asked

The two of them were pretty good friends. He had been a sounding board for her since that first party at Cass's place.

'Its along story. I'd have to explain some things that I haven't shared with you about my past. Stuff that I haven't shared with anyone that I didn't HAVE to.' Rosie texted back

'Well. You know its hard not to be curious when you have skillfully dodged all questions about it when you have been asked. And not just by me.' Nolan said

'Ah. Caught on to that did you?' Rosie asked with a cry laughing emoji

'I did. But I get if your not ready to talk about it. I will never pressure you. But will always be here if you are.' Nolan said

'Its to much to text. And I'm currently at a cabin with my family so it will have to wait.' She said

She heard someone coming behind her. She jumped up and punched towards punching the person in the gut.

She heard a grunt. "Rosie. Its just me." The voice said clearly in pain.

It was Spencer.

"God! Spencer! Don't sneak up on me like that. Fuck!" She said punching his arm

"Okay. I'm sorry." Spencer said

Rosie sighed heavily "Are you okay?"

"I'll be fine. Glad you are able to defend yourself." He said

"Emily taught me some self defence." Rosie said

"Explains why you are good." Spencer said standing up straight.

"What do you want? To cause me more annoyance?" Rosie asked

"No. I just wanted to talk." Spencer said

"Well, I don't want to talk to you." Rosie said walking away from him.

"You cant hide from me forever. We will have to talk at some point." Spencer said

"Screw you." Rosie said

"Hey. Do not speak to me like that. I was only trying to protect you." Spencer said

"I'll talk to you however I want." She said walking into a forest area.

"Rosie. That forest has a lot of wildlife that you don't want to come upon. Especially at night. Come back. I'll leave you alone." Spencer said

"Bite me." Rosie said as she kept walking.

Spencer went after her and took her arm. "You have two options. You can come back to the cabin with me on your own or I will sling you over my shoulder."

"Fuck you." Rosie said.

Spencer took a breath. He didn't want to have to do this, but he knew if he let something happen to her because he didn't he would never forgive himself. And she would never respect him if he went back on his words. He did what he said he would do. He picked her up and slung her over his shoulder and started to walk back to the cabin.

"Put me down!" Rosie screeched.

"When we get back to the cabin." He said

"No now you asshole." Rosie said

"Knock off the swearing and name calling." Spencer said

"Knock of the swearing and the name calling." Rosie mimicked in a snotty tone

"Rosie. I promise you. That you do not want to piss me off anymore than you already have." Spencer said tone sharp and stern.

Rosie huffed. "Put me down I will walk."

"You had your chance. You lost it." Spencer said

"Why do you even fucking care?" Rosie asked

Spencer stopped and set her down and held her chin. "Because regardless of how you think of me. I think of you as my little sister. And if you wont listen to keep yourself safe I will keep you safe." He said looking her in the eyes.

Rosie took a breath. Tears building in her eyes. "A s-sister?"

"Yes Rosie. You know this is a family. And that is where I see you as in this family." Spencer said.

Rosie wrapped her arms around him and sobbed.

Spencer wrapped her in a hug.

"I'm sorry." Rosie sobbed.

Spencer rubbed her back till she calmed down and they pulled apart. He took her chin again. "I am not happy about the way you spoke to me. You have two choices. You can choose to walk next to me back to the cabin and I will let you tell your dad. Or you fight me, and you will be back over my shoulder, and I wont give you a chance to tell him."

"I'll walk." Rosie said

Spencer let her chin go and they walked the rest of the way back in silence.

When they got back. Rosie found her dad. He was alone by the bonfire at the moment. She sat with him and explained to him what had happened. Spencer was close by making sure she told him everything.

Dave was not impressed with his daughter. "Go to your room." He told her

Rosie went inside and to her room.

Dave looked at Spencer. "Sit."

Spencer sat.

"I want to start with thank you for getting her back here safely. And this situation is between the two of you. If you are comfortable with it. I can let you handle it. I will back up whatever you think is a fair consequence." Dave said

Spencer let out a breath. "I don't want her to hate me…"

"Spencer. She's not going to hate you. She needs to know you wont accept how she treated you. If Henry talked to you like that what would you do?" Dave asked

"I'm his god father though. And have known him since he was a baby." Spencer said

"Regardless of how long you have known her. She has little to no memory of me before being taken. Hasn't stopped me from disciplining her." Dave said. "Or Aaron. Spencer if your not comfortable with it. I understand. I can handle it. I just wanted to give you a chance to be the one holding her accountable because you are the person she wronged. She needs to know you wont allow her to treat you the way she did" Dave said

"You sure she will be okay with it?" Spencer said

"She trusts you Spencer. If she didn't she wouldn't have spoken to you the way she did. She would be to scared of losing you." Dave said "But you can ask her if she had an issue with it. If she truly does I will handle it."

Spencer took a breath. He got up and went to her room and knocked.

"Come in." Rosie said

Spencer went in. Rosie was sitting at the head of her bed leaning against the headboard.

Rosie let out a breath and closed her eyes. She knew in her gut that her father would be sending Spencer to talk to her about this.

"You almost look like you knew it would be me coming in?" Spencer said

"I had a feeling." Rosie said. "My dad make me be accountable to the person I disrespected or whatever."

Spencer nodded and sat down crossing his feet at the foot of the bed. "You okay with it being me?"

"Do I have a choice?" Rosie asked

"Yes. If you really are uncomfortable with the punishment I choose coming from me I will let your dad handle it. I spoke to him about that." Spencer said

"You going to spank me?" She asked

"Likely yes. But we are going to talk first." Spencer said

Rosie nodded. "I trust you. I wont like it anymore from my dad…" she said

Spencer nodded. "Okay. Lets talk"

"I'm going to start with the way you spoke to me tonight. Is unacceptable. I don't care what the situation is. You never speak to me or anyone who has done nothing but try and help you like that." Spencer said

Rosie nodded

"Why did it bug you so much that I told your dad about the texts?" Spencer asked

"Because I'm old enough to handle things on my own. If there was a danger to me or it had been Paige who isn't legally allowed to contact me. I would have told my dad. And because I truly believe given time Lexi will come to realize that she is in a cult. And will get out when she can. And I cant be there for her if I don't talk to her. I had it handled. After talking to my dad about it. He pretty much agreed with that statement. Admittedly with some resistance." Rosie said, "It kind of hurt that you didn't trust me to handle it."

Spencer nodded. "You didn't tell me that you had it handled."

"I tried. I told you that you didn't understand. I was going to. You didn't give me a chance." Rosie said.

Spencer nodded.

"I would have even showed you the texts if you asked." Rosie said.

"Okay. Doesn't mean you dad didn't need to know." Spencer said

Rosie nodded and looked down.

"Look at me." He said

Rosie looked back up.

"And it doesn't excuse the way you treated me." Spencer said

"I know." Rosie said. "I'm really sorry. Even sorry I punched you in the stomach."

"I'm not upset about that." Spencer said with a small chuckle. "I should have announced myself while coming closer. I scared you. You defended yourself. That's not on the list of why I will be punishing you."

Rosie nodded.

"I'm going to give you a choice. You can be grounded to the cabin for the rest of the trip. Or take a spanking." Spencer said

Rosie nodded. "The spanking."

"Okay." Spencer moved so he was sitting with his feet on the ground.

"You ever done this before?" Rosie asked nervously moving from her spot and sitting next to him.

Spencer nodded. "Yes." he said helping her over his lap. He started to spank her on her sweat pant covered butt. He landed a dozen hard swats before he started to lecture.

"I will not tolerate you speaking to me or anyone else who deserves your respect the way you spoke to me." He said

"I- I understand." Rosie said. She was trying to be strong and not cry.

He landed another dozen swats.

Rosie started to whimper.

"If I ever hear you talk to someone like that again you will be back over my lap." Spencer said, "Am I understood?"

"Yes!" Rosie said as she started to cry. She buried her face in the bed.

Spencer lower his right knee and lifted his left to have better access to the most tender spot on her butt and landed six more swats harder than the rest to finish up.

Rosie was sobbing at that point. Spencer moved her so she was sitting in his lap and held her letting her sob into him. Till she was calm.

He moved her to sitting next to him.

"You okay?" He asked.

Rosie nodded. "Yes." she hugged him. "I really am sorry."

Spencer hugged her. "Its forgiven. The slate is clean. Now come on. I think someone is making bonfire cinnamon rolls."

Rosie and he went outside and sat down.

Dave looked up at Spencer questioningly.

"Its been handled." He said quietly to the older man.

Dave nodded and everyone was handed a cinnamon roll when they were done and cooled enough to eat.

The rest of the night was great fun for everyone.

Everyone started to head for bed at about eleven.

Emily held Rosie back.

"We are planning a swim once everyone is asleep. Just the girls. You want to join?" Emily asked

Rosie smiled and nodded. "Sounds fun."

"It's a secret. If we get busted I will take the heat from your dad." Emily said

Rosie smiled. "Okay."

Everyone went inside and around 1am the girls all made their way outside quietly and went for a night swim.

The topic of partners came up.

"So, are we just supposed to pretend we don't know about you and Aaron?" JJ asked

"What are you talking about?" Emily asked

Rosie snickered.

"Ah. You told her did you?" Emily asked

"Wait? You told Rosie and not us?" Penny asked

"I didn't say anything." Rosie said.

"No. I didn't tell her anything." Emily said

"You think if a fifteen-year-old can figure it out maybe a trained profiler wouldn't be able to tell to?" JJ asked

Emily nodded. "Okay. Sorry Rosie. Shouldn't have blamed you."

"Its okay. I didn't tell anyone. Promise. Well. Spencer was there too. He saw me looking. He told me not to say anything. So, I'm guessing he figured it out too." Rosie said

Emily chuckled

"So, spill. How long have you been dating?" Penny asked

"A few months." Emily said "And that's all you get. Now Penny. Your turn." Emily said

"I'm not seeing anyone." Penny said "Kevin and I broke up. You know that."

"Yes. But you sure there is no one else?" JJ probed

"I'm sure." Penny said

"What about you?" Penny looked at Rosie.

"Not dating anyone no." Rosie said

"Any one your interested in?" JJ asked

"There's a guy. But I think I am in the friendzone with him." Rosie said

"Ooh." Emily said.

"School friend?" Penny asked

"No. He lives in the neighbourhood. I met him last year at the party at Cass's. He goes to a catholic school." Rosie said

"Ooh. Tell us more about him." Penny said

"His name is Nolan. He's a year older. Same grade but not because he isn't crazy smart. Um. He's really cute. Kind of scruffy face. Dark hair and the blue eyes. The bright blue eyes that you could stare at for days." Rosie gushed.

"Awe." Penny said.

"And he is the best listener. Always there for me when I have a problem. Hence me thinking I'm friend zoned." Rosie said

"Well having a good friend, you can talk to about anything is not a bad thing." JJ said

"No. Its not. But when you fall for that friend…" Rosie said

"That can be tough. You talk to him about it?" Emily asked

"Would you have at fifteen?" Rosie asked

"No. And you already know what happened when I was trying to hard to fit in." Emily said

Rosie nodded

"Don't do that." Emily said

"I wont. Promise." Rosie said with a smile

"But you know you could talk to this boy. Maybe he actually feels the same way." JJ said

"No. I know he doesn't." Rosie said

"He have a girlfriend?" Penny asked

"No… A boyfriend. And its not widely known." Rosie said

"Ooh. He's not into girls." JJ said

"Well. He's into both but the point is he is taken." Rosie said

"He's not fully out?" Emily asked

"No. I think I might be the only one he has told. And you are the only people I have told. Because I know you can be trusted." Rosie said

They all nodded.

"I know what its like to have to hide who you are because of religious parents. So, I keep his secret." Rosie said

"Well. Keep the friendship. The crush will likely fade." JJ said

Rosie nodded. "I'm not going to lose the friendship. So, I'm keeping my mouth shut. About my feeling for him that is."

The girls kept talking and swam for abit.

Aaron came into the living room where Dave was sitting and reading

"They really think we don't know they are out there?" Aaron asked

Dave chuckled. "Apparently. Because Rosie is out there with them."

Aaron smirked. "You want me to go pull boss and drag them in?"

Dave shook his head and chuckled again "She's with three woman who I know would die before they let anything happen to her."

"Very true." Aaron said sitting next to his friend.

"How long have you an Emily been dating?" Dave asked

"Your daughter told you." Aaron said

"No. She knew?" Dave asked

"I guess we made it very obvious. I shouldn't be surprised that you caught on too." Aaron said

"I would be surprised if its not the topic of conversation out there." Dave said

Aaron chuckled. "Possibly."

"So. How long?" Dave asked

"Few months." Aaron said

"I'm happy for you two." Dave said

"Thanks." Aaron said

"Should we turn the deck light on? So, they can see when they come in." Dave said

Aaron went and did so.

When they saw the porch light come on the girls all frozen.

"I think were busted." JJ said.

Emily and Penny chuckled.

Rosie looked worried.

"I promised you if he is upset I will handle it." Emily said seeing her face. "I mean that. You wont be in trouble."

Rosie nodded.

"Either way I think its time we head inside." JJ said

They all got out and wrapped themselves in their towels and went inside.

They all saw the two men sitting in the living room. Penny and JJ headed off to their rooms.

"Swimming at this time?" Dave asked

"Dave. It was my idea. If you want to be angry with anyone make it me." Emily said

Dave smiled. "I'm not angry. I knew she was safe with you three."

"She was." Emily agreed.

Dave kissed Rosie's head. "Head to bed."

Rosie went.

"Next time Emily. Just tell me your taking her. She doesn't even need to know you let me know." Dave said, "And I can keep it to myself." He said

"Okay." Emily said, "I'm sorry."

"Its fine." Dave said. Before he went off.

Aaron smiled at her. "He's not angry. If he was he would have gone out there and made her come in."

Emily nodded. "Seems we weren't as skilled at hiding things as we thought. JJ and Penny figured it out. Apparently Spencer as well."

"Dave too." Aaron said

Emily smiled.

"Come on you. Since they all know I'm not going to pretend we have been sleeping in separate rooms." Aaron said pulling Emily gently towards her room with a smirk.

The next morning the men were up long before the woman.

"The girls all enjoying sleeping in." Derek said

Aaron and Dave exchanged looks with smirks.

Derek looked at Spencer "Am I missing something?"

"If you are so am I." Spencer said

"The girls all went for a night swim. They were out in the water till about 3." Will said.

"Rosie too?" Derek asked

"Yes." Dave said

"How did we not know this?" Derek asked

"We all weren't supposed to know." Aaron said

"JJ woke me up coming in. She was in her swimsuit. I asked." Will said

"And I'm a father I know where my daughter is at all times." Dave said with a smirk.

"How did you figure it out?" Spencer asked Aaron smirking behind his cup.

"I know you know." Aaron said

"Know what?" Derek asked

Spencer shrugged.

"Oh, come on. What am I missing?" Derek asked

"Really? You haven't figured it out?" Will asked

"Am I the only one who doesn't know what this is?" Derek asked

"I think so." Dave said

"Emily and I have been in a relationship for the past few months. Long distance." Aaron said

"Oh. How did I miss that?" Derek asked

"Not sure." Aaron said

The men made breakfast and soon after the girls started coming out.

Aaron kissed Emily when she came out.

"I take it everyone knows." Emily said

"Yup." Aaron said.

"Good swim last night?" Derek asked

Emily chuckled. "Yes. It was a lot of fun."

Once everyone was out they all ate breakfast and talked.

"I'm going to go for a walk." Rosie said

"Okay." Dave said "Stay out of the forest. Even in the day there has been some animal sightings."

Rosie nodded. "Okay."

She went for her walk.

Everyone else made their way outside to enjoy another sunny day. They would be leaving late that afternoon but still had a few hours to enjoy the cabin.

Rosie came back and went and started to pack. Soon everyone was packing and having their last meal of lunch at the cabin.

Everyone helped clean up and make sure the place looked the same if not better than when they left it.

Everyone finished packing and filling up trunks with their things. Everyone did one final look through in their rooms making sure they didn't leave anything under beds or plugged in before climbing into cars and heading towards home.

It had been a really good weekend. Everyone had truly enjoyed themselves and bonded more than they had in awhile.
