Rosie was outside in the backyard reading. It had been a few days since the get together at Nolan's. There was just three weeks left of summer and Rosie was not going to miss any opportunity to enjoy the warm weather.
She noticed her neighbour was outside. She had noticed a few days ago that she had seen a little girl playing in the back yard but didn't think much of it.
"Afternoon." Seb said to her
"Afternoon." Rosie said back "Noticed you had company a few days ago." She said
"Yeah. My niece." Seb said
Rosie smiled and nodded
"Your back to school in a few weeks?" He asked
"Yup. my Sophomore year." She said
"Ooh. You'll be getting your licence than." He said
"Well, my learners. My birthday is in the summer. So, I wont be getting my full licence till junior year." Rosie said
Seb nodded. "Do you think I could get your help with something again?" He asked
"Need something from your crawl space again?" She asked with a smile.
"No. There is something I need taken from my garage and its not crazy heavy just awkward shaped. Could use an extra pair of hands." He said
"Sure." Rosie said. She figured she wouldn't be going into his house so it should be fine. And she didn't have the weird vibe off him anymore anyways. She set her book down next to her phone and went with him. They went in the side door of his garage and before Rosie knew what was happening there was a cloth across her nose and mouth and hand holding it there. She tried to fight but she wasn't expecting it and whatever was on the cloth caused her to pass out. It took about five minutes till she was completely out. In which she fought as hard as she could for as long as she could.

Dave came home around three that day. He saw the back door opened. Just the screen door closed. He looked out at the table and saw Rosie's book and phone.
"Rose." He called out looking for her
There was no response. He walked through the house maybe she had fallen asleep. He checked her room and the library two of the places she tends to pass out the most. But she wasn't in either of those places. And she wasn't anywhere else in the house either. He went downstairs and looked out back again.
He noticed the neighbour in his backyard.
"Have you seen my daughter today?" Dave asked
"No. I just got home from dropping my niece off at my brothers." He said. "Sorry."
"That's okay." Dave said. He picked up her phone and unlocked it and checked to see if she had received any calls or texts. He wasn't invading her privacy, but he was a little worried. He knew she wouldn't go far with out her phone.
He started calling all her friends parents making sure she wasn't there, and a phone chain was started. It was a few hours later and he still hadn't heard anything from anyone. The team was all there, and an investigation was already underway.
Dave made a call he didn't want to have to make. He called Lexi's mother.
"What do you want?" The woman said answering the phone.
"I wouldn't call if it wasn't urgent. Rosie is no where to be found. I know she and Lexi have texted a few times. I just want to ensure that they haven't made plans to take off and meet up since neither of us want them talking." Dave said
Her mother went to Lexi's room and knocked
"Yeah?" Lexi said
Her mother went in.
"You don't get to lie. Have you been talking with Rosie?" Her mother asked
"A little…" She said
"You two haven't planned something where she comes here, and you meet up with her?" Her mother asked
"No. Why?" Lexi asked
"Seems her father cant keep a close enough eye on her. She's missing. You're not lying to me right?" her mother asked
"No. I would tell you. Promise." Lexi said
Her mother went back on the phone. "No. As far as I know she is not coming here. And I don't think Lexi is lying."
"Alright. Thanks." Dave said
"If she shows up I will make sure you are notified." She said
"Thank you." Dave said before hanging up
Rosie woke up. She was laying on the ground. It was hard and cold. The air smelt damp. Her eyes opened slowly but all she saw was darkness around her. She felt her pockets for her phone, but she remembered that she had left it on the back deck next to her book. She knew she was in serious danger. She had made a big mistake in trusting the neighbour. She should have just trusted her damn gut instinct. She had been so stupid. But she couldn't do anything about that now. She didn't know how long she had been out for, but she knew before long her dad would be looking for her. She didn't have time to think about that she sat up and threw up. Moving away from the spot she threw up as soon as she was done.
"Where is her passport? Wallet? See if she left with anything." Aaron said. The whole family had arrived by that point.
Dave went to the safe and checked. Her passport was there. He checked her room and found her purse with her wallet in it. No clothes or bags seemed to be missing.
His phone rang. He answered it.
"Hello Mr. Rossi?" The female voice said
"Yes." he said
"This is Ms. Davis. Taylor's mother. She told me about a text and conversation she had with your daughter a couple weeks ago. About your neighbour. Seb. She said the name is. Rosie had texted her and told her if she didn't text back in twenty minutes to call you and tell you that's where she was. She did text her and my daughter called her to ensure it was truly her but apparently he had asked her for a favor. To get something out of his crawl space and told my daughter that she wasn't supposed to be alone with him. I don't know if it has anything to do with where she is now, but my daughter wanted to make sure you knew in case it does." Ms. Davis said
"Thank you! It will be looked into. Tell Taylor thank you as well." Dave said before hanging up and telling the others. Penny had brought her computer there and started typing the name Dave gave her.
A picture came up. "That's him." Dave said
Alex looked at the picture.
"Oh my god." She said
"What?" Dave asked.
"Garcia. Type the name Darrin Block." Alex said
Penny did quickly and a picture of the same man came up with something saying he was wanted in Canada for dozens of abductions.
"He must have changed his name and came to the states." Alex said
"This kid is no more than nineteen how?" Dave asked
"He just looked young. He is twenty-seven" Penny said
Aaron was already on the phone getting an arrest warrant for the man.

Rosie heard someone walking down steps and a bright light shone on her face. She groaned and covered her face.
"You will never be found." The voice said. "I was just outside talking to your dad. He has NO idea. I can keep you down here for years and you will never be found. So, you better just do what I tell you." He said
Rosie whimpered and nodded.
"good bitch." He said
Rosie let a tear fall. She knew at this point to just do what she was told and prolong how long he kept her. He grabbed her by her hair and pulled her up. Turning on a light.
Rosie yelped and when he let her hair go looked around. She was in a small room. She could see where she threw up.
"God. Why do you bitches all throw up?" He asked thrown her down next to it and going and grabbing a bucket of water and a rag bringing them to her. "Clean it up." He said
Rosie whimpered but started to do so. Every few minutes he would come and kick her around. Rosie yelped and sobbed every time he did. She tried not to. But it really hurt. When she was done cleaning it up. He pulled her up by her hair again and brought her to a room next to the one she was in. There was nothing in the room except a twin bed. He threw her on the bed.
"I'll be back. And when I get back we are going to have some fun." He said with a smirk.

It didn't take long to get an arrest warrant and the team went over. They had all the gear they needed to knock down the door just as the power company cut the power.
"Darrin Block come out with your hands up." Hotch called as they all made their way through the house guns and flashlights pointing in the way they were going.
David had stayed back at the house with Ms. Jarvis who had come over to offer her support.
They didn't hear anything. As they made their way through the house. Reid and JJ made their way to the basement.
"Darrin Block! Come out with your hands up." JJ called.
"Rosie! If you can hear us make a noise." Spencer called
Rosie could hear them but when the noise started up stairs Sebastian had covered her mouth and held a gun to her head and told her if she said anything he would shoot.
Rosie let tears fall silently as she heard Spencer and JJ. They were so close.
Spencer and JJ kept looking around the basement. Spencer almost tripped over the bucket on the floor, and he looked down at it and at the ground around it. "Is that vomit?" He asked JJ
JJ looked "Yup."
"This is a really small basement for the size of the house." Reid whispered.
JJ nodded to the bookcase that seemed a little out of place.
They both went over and started to pull the books off the shelves till they found a book that opened the bookcase to a room on the other side.
"Do not come any closer!" A male voice screamed.
JJ and Spencer went to the voice and pointed guns at the man.
"Let her go!" Reid screamed.
Everyone upstairs heard and made their way towards it to assist.
"I will not be going to prison!" Darrin yelled.
"Well, its prison or a body bag!" JJ said.
"Your choice." Spencer said
"Well, if I'm gonna die I will take her with me!" He said.
Spencer looked at Rosie. And Rosie looked up at the mans hands trying to signal to Spencer.
Spencer knew what she was going to do.
During the commotion the man's hand had moved from covering her mouth so Rosie mouthed 'One. Two. Three.' Before she reached up and grabbed the wrist that was holding the gun and pulled it down while biting the hand that was close to her mouth and moving down. Spencer shot the man. He aimed for her shoulder. JJ shot as well getting him in the side.
Once the man was down a Morgan and Blake came in and grabbed him.
JJ grabbed the blanket that was on the bed and wrapped Rosie it in. She was already almost naked. Rosie was sobbing and clung to JJ's arm.
"Hey. Its okay. Your safe." JJ said wrapping her arms around her and holding her.
Rosie sobbed into her for a few minutes while most everyone else cleared the small room. Once she started to calm. JJ looked at her.
"Are you hurt? Can you walk?" JJ asked
"My side hurts. Maybe my ribs. And my head. I'm really dizzy. My ankle hurt as well." She sobbed out.
Spencer the only other person in the room went over. "You okay with me picking you up?" he asked
Rosie nodded.
Spencer reached his arm around her back and other under both her knees and picked her up keeping the blanket tight to her. JJ helped make sure the blanket stayed in place.
Spencer carried her up the stairs as they were getting near the door they could see the press had already gotten hold of what was going on.
Hotch came in. "Take her out the back. The ambulance has pulled up to the side of the house. Police have a barricade. No one will be able to get pictures." He told them leading them the way.
Reid went with Hotch. JJ went out to talk to the press. Making sure they were distracted to make extra sure.
Reid got Rosie into the back of the ambulance and put her down on the stretcher.
"Where is my dad?" Rosie asked
"He will meet you at the hospital." Aaron said
"Please. Don't leave me alone." Rosie sobbed out
"Spencer or me who do you want?" Aaron asked
"Just don't leave me alone." She sobbed out.
Aaron got into the ambulance.
"Reid. Let Morgan know I have gone to the hospital. He is lead." Aaron said
"Got it." Spencer said going quickly closing the ambulance door before going to Morgan and letting him know.
The ambulance took Rosie to the hospital.
"Can I get your arm." The paramedic asked softly,
Rosie gave it and looked away while they put the IV in.
Aaron put a hand on her shoulder. "Its going to be okay." He knew she hated needles
"Its in." The paramedic said. It wasn't the first time she had someone that didn't like needles.
Rosie looked back up.
"Where hurts?" The paramedic asked
"My side. Maybe my ribs. My head. I'm really dizzy. My left ankle." She said between sobs. "I think he chloroformed me." She sobbed out.
The paramedic nodded. "Okay." She checked out the places that Rosie had said. Everything was bruising and swollen.
"You will need x-rays. Everywhere is swollen. Are you allergic to any medications?" The paramedic asked.
"I don't think so." She said
"No. Nothing." Aaron said
The paramedic looked up.
"I'm her uncle. Her father and I were talking about it the other day." Aaron said "But she takes vitamins to help nutritional deficiencies." He said
"What vitamins? Any medications?" The paramedic asked
"Calcium and a daily vitamin. To help my body to continue to stay healthy. I have anorexia. But it is fully under control for about a year." Rosie said, "I also take Ritalin for ADHD." Rosie said stating the dosage she takes.
"Any recreational drugs?" The paramedic asked
"No." Rosie said
"Just making sure you know that if the answer is yes I wont tell your dad. She needs to be sure, so she doesn't give you anything that would hurt you if you do." Aaron said
"I swear I don't. Have never had more than a sip or two of alcohol on like new years eve. Don't smoke cigarettes. Nothing. I promise." Rosie said
"Okay. Good." The paramedic said
"Take any pain killers in the last couple days for a headache or anything?" She asked
"No." Rosie said
"Okay. I'm going to give you some oxycodone for the pain" She said saying what the dosage was. "It's a very low dose." She added looking up at her uncle.
"That's fine." He said. "I trust if you think she needs it she needs it." Aaron said
The paramedic nodded. They got to the hospital, and she was brought inside and immediately was taken for x-rays and MRI.
A nurse took Aaron to a place he could wait till she was in a room. A few minutes later Dave came in and looked at Aaron. "Where is she?"
"X-rays and MRI. I'm guess on her ribs and ankle based on where her pain is. And MRI on her head." Aaron said "nurse will come let us know when she is in a room."
Dave sat next to him. "So, okay? All things considered?"
"She's hurting but she should be okay." Aaron said
Dave nodded. "I'm so angry I couldn't get to the ambulance because of the crowds. But glad you were with her."
"She was great in there. Telling all her medical stuff. She didn't hold anything back. Didn't fight the IV." Aaron said
Dave nodded. "Good."
"Not sure if its ever been a worry for you. But she was asked about recreational drugs. She doesn't do any. Even after I told her if the answer was yes I wouldn't tell you the answer was still no." Aaron said
Dave nodded. "She is a teenager. Of course, I worry about peer pressure leading her to doing something. But I think I would know if she did." Dave said "But hey. I didn't know she was going over there to help him with things, so I don't know."
"She never mentioned." Aaron said
"Nope. I came home one day, and her shirt was covered in dirt. I asked her about it. She told me she was helping Ms. Jarvis get something out of her crawl space. I asked Ms. Jarvis. Never happened. She was at his house helping him. It was probably how he lured her into his garage without her being to on guard. But I told her to stay away from him. Not to be alone with him. She even told me she got a bad feeling off of him. Said she wouldn't be alone with him." Dave said
"Damn." Aaron said
"I cant protect the girl when she lies to me…" Dave said
"I know." Aaron said "Teenagers. They don't think though their lies sometimes."
"I thought she was smarter than this." Dave said
"Dave. Come on. She is a teenager. They make mistakes. Admittedly this is one of the worse outcomes. But she is alive. She is strong. And she will get through this." Aaron said. "You both will."
"I couldn't protect her when she was a toddler and I still cant protect her." Dave said putting his face in his hands.
"Dave. You told her to not go over there. I'm sure you were very clear. And the fact that she lied to you about it the last time. Means she knew she wasn't supposed to. Teenagers lie. You cant be expected to watch her twenty-four seven." Aaron said
"Well. She will not be alone again any time soon." Dave said
Aaron knew the man was hurting and scared of losing his daughter and wasn't thinking clearly so he wasn't going to try and talk him out of that. "If that's what you have to do than do it."
A couple hours later the whole team had slowly made their way to the hospital to sit with Dave. There was a lot of crime scene investigators at the house. And shortly after that. Nolan showed up and saw her dad.
"Mr. Rossi. Is she okay?" Nolan asked
Dave looked up. "Nolan. She is getting some testing done. You can sit and wait with us." he said introducing the teen to everyone.
JJ and Penny exchanged glances. They knew that name.
Aaron's phone rang. He looked. "I should get that. Its Emily. Its probably gotten to her at this point." He got up and went.
"Hello Em." Aaron said
"Why didn't you call me? Did you really think I wouldn't find out or something?" Emily asked
"I was going to wait till we knew what the tests said. She is alright. A lot of pain but she is getting x-rays and an MRI." Aaron said
"I'm getting a flight and coming." She said
"Em. Don't. Wait till we know more. She could be out of the hospital today or tomorrow." Aaron said.
"When I get in to see her. I will video chat you. So, you two can talk. The team is all here. And some teenage boy. Nolan." Aaron said.
"Nolan is there?" Emily asked
"You know the name?" Aaron asked
"Erm… No…" Emily said
"Emily. Is she dating this boy?" Aaron asked. "Because it is clear he is very worried about her."
"I don't think they are dating. Unless something has changed since the weekend trip." Emily said
"She likes him?" Aaron asked
"She's going to be pissed I let you know." Emily said
"I wont tell her." Aaron said
"Thank you." Emily said.
"But no coming until we know more. Okay?" Aaron said
"You know that girl is important to me too." Emily said
"I know." Aaron said. "But we cant all be in the room anyways."
"You're right." Emily said
"I will keep you updated." Aaron said.
They said bye before they hung up Aaron went back to the group.
Shortly later a nurse came.
"Family of Rosie Rossi?" She asked
Dave stood up. "I'm her dad."
"Tests are all done. She is being brought to a room. I can take you there. But only two people can be in the room at a time." She said
"Aaron. Go with Dave." JJ said
The two men went and were led to the room where Rosie was just being wheeled in.
"She got a little anxious during the testing. They had to give her a mild sedative. She's going to be a little groggy." The nurse said. "The doctor will be in soon to let you know the results of the tests." She said before he left.
Dave went and took her hand. "Its okay bambina. I'm here." He said softly. "And so is Uncle Aaron." He added.
Rosie opened her eyes abit before closing them again.
"Its okay, you just rest." Dave said
Dave and Aaron sat down.
"How much do you know about that boy Nolan?" Aaron asked softly
Dave looked up at him and smirked. "I know she likes him. I can see it every time they are together. I think she mentioned he was in a relationship though. Why?"
"He looked the same way I think I would if it was Emily in this bed." Aaron said
"You think they are dating?" Dave asked
"I don't know. Emily recognized the name. I think she might have told the girls during that late swim about him. Emily says they weren't dating at that point." He said softly.
"He's a good kid. I don't know if Rosie has noticed but he wears a ring. I recognize it from my teenage years. It's a ring the catholic church encourages their youths to wear. A purity ring. So, unless he is just wearing it to appease his parents. I trust him enough." Dave said
Aaron nodded. "But to be her first boyfriend?"
"Its going to happen eventually. She knows she allowed to date as long as I know the person and her school and other responsibilities come first." Dave said. "Now if I ever let her out of my sight again that is."
"Dave. Come on. You know that's not fair. This is not her fault. That man lured her into a false sense of security." Aaron said
"Oh. I know that. I am not blaming her for what he did. But she lied to me Dave. How can I trust she wont again and end up in a dangerous situation again?" Dave said
"Because Dave she told someone about going over there the first time. She knew she needed back up if she didn't come back. She trusted him this time. She's not going to be so quick to judge someone again." Aaron said
Dave nodded.
"I get you need to make sure she's not alone for awhile. But it doesn't have to be you. As you said you trust this boy. And if he is anything like you or I when it comes to a loved one putting themselves in danger he wont be happy with her either." Aaron said with a smile
"What boy?" Rosie mumbled.
Dave looked at her. "You're awake."
"Kinda…" She said
"How are you feeling?" he asked
"Sore." She said. "And stupid."
"Your not stupid." Dave said
"I went over there…" She said
"I know. But that's because he made you trust him by getting you to help him before." Dave said
Rosie groaned. "You know about that…"
"Yeah. Its how we found you. Taylor told her mom about the time you texted her about if you didn't text back in twenty minutes." Dave said
Rosie nodded. "I'm so sorry daddy." Tears steaming
"I'm just happy your okay. We can talk about the rest later." He said
"What boy is going to be pissed?" Rosie asked
Dave smiled. "The boy sitting in the waiting room waiting to make sure you okay."
Rosie gave a confused look.
"Nolan." Dave said
"Oh…" Rosie said, "He has been told?"
"All your friends were called. To see if you were there." Aaron said
"Well. You're not wrong. Nolan is going to pissed…." Rosie said
"Are you two dating?" Dave asked
"No. But we both have feelings…" She said. "He just broke up with the guy he was seeing. He needs time to get over him. I will not be a rebound." Rosie mumbled
Dave chuckled. "That's my girl. Knowing her worth."
Rosie smiled abit.
The doctor came in. "How are you feeling Miss Rossi?" The doctor asked
"I'm sore. Feeling more stupid than anything. And you can call me Rosie." She said
"Okay. Rosie. I have to ask you a question. Are you comfortable talking in front of them?" The doctor asked
"He didn't rape me. He almost did. There was some sexual touching. But didn't get very far before I was rescued." Rosie said.
"Okay. You knew what I was going to ask." The doctor said
Rosie nodded.
"What did the tests say?" Dave asked
"Dad I take it?" The doctor asked. "Yes. And he is her uncle."
"Okay. Lets start worst to best." The doctor said "Four broken ribs. A sprained ankle. And a mild concussion." The doctor said
Rosie sighed.
"Ribs near her lungs? Do we need to worry about that?" Dave asked
"Nope. Lower than that." The doctor said showing where it was on her scan results.
"Was she given any drugs?" Dave asked
"Nothing showed up in her tox screen. The chloroform wouldn't at this point though." The doctor said. "She is slightly dehydrated but the adrenaline that would have been pumping would likely be the cause. And because of how hot it has been. Make sure you are drinking lots of water. I'm a little concerned about her iron numbers though." The doctor said, "I don't think that is the result of just what has happened today." The doctor said
Rosie groaned.
"You've been taking your vitamins?" Dave asked
"Yes." Rosie said.
"She on an iron supplement? That's not listed." The doctor asked
"Not iron specifically. A multi vitamin that has iron as well as a specific calcium supplement." Rosie said
"Yes. I see that was noted on intake. Has her iron been a problem before?" The doctor asked
"Its been on the lower end of normal. For awhile. Her GP talked about keeping an eye on it and if it dropped." Dave said.
"Well, its definitely below what it should be. By a considerable amount. Who is the GP?" The doctor asked.
Dave gave the name.
"Okay. I'm going to say to start taking some iron. And follow up with your GP." She told Rosie and gave dosage she should start with.
"You sure this isn't just stress related?" Rosie asked
"Not just stress related no. Especially when you have a history of already lower levels and how low it is. But we are starting you on a low dosage." The doctor said
"Rosie it's a vitamin. Its not bad for you." Dave said
"And follow up with your doctor. If it really is a stress related thing than you wont be on them forever." The doctor said
Rosie grumbled "Fine."
"Rosie. Don't be rude the doctor is just trying to help." Dave said
Rosie sighed. "Sorry."
The doctor smiled. "Its okay. I know your hurting. Also, will prescribe a slightly stronger pain killer than you can get over the counter. Rib breaks are quite painful."
Rosie nodded. "Okay. Thank you doctor."
"Anything I should be worried about a possible addiction?" Dave asked
"T 3's and yes they are an opioid. Is there a history of addiction?" The doctor asked
"No." Dave said
"Dad. I don't drink. I don't do drugs, I don't smoke. I'm not an addict." Rosie said
"No. I know that bambina. But sometimes all it takes it one pill. But that is not a reason you shouldn't take them if you need them." Dave said
"It's just for IF she needs them." The doctor said."
Dave nodded. "Okay. I think I am being too overprotective."
"That's okay." The doctor said. "Just means you're a parent who cares. You go easy on him." The doctor say smiling at Rosie.
"You should tell that to him." Rosie said
The doctor chuckled. "I know a good parent when I see one. You are going to be just fine."
"She can go home in a couple hours. Just want to make sure the IV is finished to help with the dehydration. And she should be good to go." The doctor said. Before she told Rosie how to help her ribs heal faster.
"Thank you doctor." Rosie said. "Again, sorry for being a little rude."
"Its okay." The doctor said.
"Any questions before I go?" She asked looking at the three people in the room.
They all shook their heads.
"Well, I will go. Let some of the people in the waiting room get to visit with you. But only two at a time." The doctor reminded.
Aaron got up. "I will go and let someone else come. I'm glad you okay." He said
"Thank you Uncle Aaron. For being there for me." She said
"Of course. Always." Aaron said before he went to the waiting room and giving a brief rundown of the injuries.
"Someone else can go have a few minutes with her." Everyone took turns. Going to see her and see for themselves that she was okay before leaving. Nolan was last. He let himself be last figuring he might get a few extra minutes with her. He had gone to the gift shop while he was waiting and got her a stuffed monkey. He went to the room.
"Hey." He said
"Hi." She said
"How are you feeling?" he asked handing her the monkey
Rosie smiled and took it. "Thanks. He's adorable. And I'm okay. The meds I'm sure are helping." Rosie said
Nolan nodded.
A nurse came in. "Just need to get her discharge paperwork started."
Dave got up. "I can do that." He left the room with the nurse.
"Please tell me I misunderstood, and this wasn't the neighbour you told me about giving you the creeps." Nolan said
"Well…." Rosie said
Nolan raised an eyebrow.
Rosie looked down.
"Ro. Why?" He asked softly
"I trusted him…" Rosie said
"How did he get you to trust him?" Nolan asked
"A couple weeks ago. He asked me to help him with something. Getting something out of his crawl space that he couldn't reach because he's to big. I agreed and texted a friend telling her if I didn't text her in twenty minutes to call my dad and tell him where I was. But it worked out fine. I got the item he needed me to and that was it." Rosie said. "This time he told me he needed help moving an awkward shaped item out of his garage. He made a point of saying it wasn't heavy just awkward and I figured his garage I didn't need to go into his house." she continued. "And it happened so fast. I was in the garage for maybe ten seconds before he had my mouth covered with a cloth covered in what I'm guessing is chloroform. I fought with everything I have but he was stronger." She finished tears in her eyes.
"But I thought we agreed you would trust your gut and not go there. What happened?" Nolan asked was upset with the situation, but he was calm with her.
"I have a hard time saying no when someone asks me a favor." Rosie said
"You are allowed to say no when you are not comfortable. Its okay to be rude if it keeps you safe." Nolan said
"I know…" Rosie said. "You pissed at me?"
"I'm angry about the situation. At the monster who did this to you. I'm not happy that you did the complete opposite of what we agreed was the best choice." Nolan said, "I hate that you got hurt." He continued before taking a breath. "And I hate that I came so close to losing you and we haven't had a chance to be together." He finished.
"Nolan. You need time to get over him." Rosie said
"I am fully over him." Nolan said.
Rosie tilted her head. "There is a story there."
"He was cheating on me the entire time we were together. With multiple people." Nolan said
"Wow. What a douche. We hate him now." Rosie said
Nolan chuckled. "That's what Cass said when I told her."
Rosie smiled. "You think you're over him, but you need more time. And I'm pretty sure I'm never going to be allowed to do anything. Ever again." Rosie said
"Your dad unimpressed with you too huh?" He asked
"Oh. We haven't had the conversation yet… But I know him." Rosie said
Aaron cleared his throat.
Rosie looked up. "Have you met my uncle?"
"Yes. Met in the waiting room." Nolan said. "Hello again sir."
"Hello. Sorry to interrupt I forgot I promised Emily I would video chat with you, so she wont buy a ticket and come out here to see for herself that you are okay." Aaron said
Rosie chuckled.
"I'm going to go. You are leaving the hospital tonight?" Nolan asked
"Yes. Shortly." Rosie said
"I'll come see you at home tomorrow. Okay?" Nolan asked
"Sounds good." She said
Nolan squeezed her hand and left.
Aaron video conferenced Emily who answered quickly.
"You okay?" She asked
"I'm okay." Rosie said. "A little sore. But not anything I cant handle."
Emily nodded "Good."
"Feel like an idiot more than anything." Rosie said
"You're not an idiot." Both Emily and Aaron said at the same time.
Rosie chuckled. "You two have one brain now?"
"Very funny. Good. You still have your sense of humor." Emily said
Aaron just smiled and shook his head.
"I heard there was a teenage boy who visited you." Emily said a smile on her face
"Um. Yeah. Nolan. I told you about him…" Rosie said
"Yeah. Aaron said the name. I remembered him." Emily said
"He's just a friend." Rosie said
"Well. I hope so. Didn't you say he was seeing someone?" Emily asked
"Um. He was. They broke up. The other guy turned out to be a big douche." Rosie said
"Ah. Well. Good riddance than." Emily said
"That's what I say too." Rosie said.
"Anyways what can I send you to help you feel better? Flowers? Candy? A new book?" Emily asked
"You don't need to send me anything." Rosie said.
"Either I send you something or I'm going to bring myself." Emily said
"She will." Aaron said. "Trust me."
"I don't doubt it." Rosie said. "Whatever you want to send is fine. And appreciated."
"What is the number one book on your to be bought list." Emily asked
"Um. The selection by Kiera Cass." Rosie answered.
"And your favorite candy?" Emily asked
"Anything milk chocolate" Rosie said
"Okay." Emily said
Dave and a nurse came into the room.
"Lets get this IV out of you so you can go home." The nurse said
"Thank you." Rosie said
"Kara?" Emily said.
The nurse looked at the screen. "Emily. Hi! Haven't seen you in awhile."
"I moved to London." She said
"Oh wow. That's amazing. I take it you know this young lady." The nurse asked
"Yes. She is basically my niece." Emily said, "Glad to know she had a great nurse taking care of her."
"Lots of amazing nurses and doctors at this hospital." Nurse Kara said
"I'm sure there are." Emily said.
Rosie raised an eyebrow. She could sense something between Emily and this nurse. Did they have a past? She knew Emily had been involved with a couple different women in her past. Was this one of them? She wondered
"What's with that look?" Aaron asked his niece
"Oh nothing." Rosie said
"Do you disagree that the staff here was great?" Aaron asked
"NO!" Rosie said. "Everyone has been amazing." She added quickly
Emily chuckled. "Be nice Aaron."
Aaron smirked.
"I'm so confused." Rosie said
"Your uncle is being mean. He realized you figured something out and is trying to make you forget." Emily said
"What did I figure out?" Rosie asked with a smirk
"Yeah. You know what." Emily said. "I'm going to go. So, you can get home and to bed."
"Thank you Auntie Emily." Rosie said with a smile
"Dave you take good care of my niece, or I will have to come down and take over." Emily said before she hung up.
Nurse Kara finished taking her IV out and such. "You are good to go." She said
"Thank you." Rosie said.
"Of course. And use that acute cleverness to keep yourself safe." the nurse said with a smile.
Rosie giggled and nodded "I get it from my dad." She said
Dave smiled.
The nurse left and Rosie went and change out of the hospital gown and into clothes that had been brought for her as her clothes from earlier in the day were now evidence.
She came out and sighed but sat in the wheelchair the nurse had brought in and Dave started to push it towards the door after handing her the stuffed monkey. He pushed her all the way to the car and Rosie carefully moved into the car.
Aaron had followed them carrying the crutches that Rosie would need to get around for a few weeks. He put them in the back seat.
"I will call and check up on you tomorrow." Aaron told the girl
"Okay." Rosie said
Aaron and Dave said bye and Aaron went off. Dave brought the wheelchair back before getting into the drivers seat and starting for the pharmacy to get her prescription and iron supplements before heading for home.
"Look. I don't want to wait. Just lecture me." Rosie said
"Are you going to trust your gut in the future?" he asked
"Yes." Rosie said
"Do you understand why lying to me about where you were that day was really stupid?" He asked
Rosie nodded abit.
"Verbal answers." He said
"Yes Sir. I understand." Rosie said
"Do you realize how lucky you are that you got out of there alive?" Dave asked
"Yes." Rosie said
"Rosie. I told you not to go over there for a reason. I think I have been pretty easy going. Allowing you do what you want. Within reason of course. Given you a lot of trust and leeway. Because you have always shown me that you have pretty good judgement. But today you made a choice. That wasn't using the brain and the good judgement that I know you have. And I almost lost you. You are fifteen years old. You have a reason for being alive and that reason is not to die at fifteen at the hands of a child predator." Dave said. He was calm but it was clear he was not happy.
"Yes sir." Rosie said softly eyes welling up.
"I think that you have learnt a hard lesson today without me having to add on a consequence. But I need you to listen to me when I ask you not to do something. I didn't do that because I was trying to be uncool." Dave said
"Thank you. I know. I just. I have a really hard time saying no to people who ask for favors. I just wanted to help…" Rosie said
"I know. But it is okay to trust your gut and say no. Make up a lie if you have to but trust your gut and trust that if I ask you to not do something its to protect you." He said
"Yes sir." She said
Dave pulled into the driveway. "I'm going to help you inside."
Rosie nodded.
Dave got out and went around and helped her out and into the house. "I knew that the elevator would eventually come in handy." Dave said
Rosie chuckled abit. And they went upstairs by the elevator in his house. It was almost never used but Dave always made sure it was in working order in case a situation came where they needed it.
"I'm going to take a bath." Rosie said
"Okay." Dave said. "Just be careful getting in and out."
"I will." She said
Dave left her be with her crutches. She took a bath soaking her sore body. When she was done she got out and got dressed before climbing into bed.
Dave knocked on her door when he was sure she was done.
"Yes?" She said
Dave went in and handed her, her phone. "It has been going off consistently. You should let everyone know your okay."
Rosie went through all the texts
"You called Lexi?" She asked when she saw a text from her
"Had to make sure you two hadn't planned some runaway plan to see each other." Dave said
Rosie chuckled abit. "That would have been smarter than what I did…"
"This situation is not a joke Rosie." He said
"I know. I'm sorry. I just. You should know by now. I make jokes when I feel like an idiot…" She said
Dave nodded and kissed her head.
She sent off a mass text.
'I'm okay. Sore but okay. Its been along day and I am exhausted. I'm going to head to bed.' She plugged her phone in and looked at her dad. "I'm going to get some sleep. Unless there is something else?" she said
Dave gave her a hug. "I'm so happy you are okay."
Rosie hugged him the best she could without hurting her healing ribs.
"I know that I didn't use the best of judgement but once I was in there. I remembered everything you have told me. Just did what I was told. Didn't try to fight. Till Spencer and JJ got there and than I did my part to get myself out of there." Rosie said
"I know. I spoke to JJ. She told me what you did. I know what happened to you today was caused by a grown man manipulating you. And it probably doesn't help that he looks eighteen but is actually twenty-seven." He said
"Dad. He had a little girl there the other day… I mentioned it to him before all hell went down. He said she was his niece…"
"He mentioned having dropped her off at his brothers. It is being looked into. Seeing if there is a best friend who he might consider his brother. He has no living family." Dave said
Rosie nodded.
"Did you see any signs of her in that house?" He asked
Rosie shook her head.
Dave nodded and kissed her head. "I love you bambina."
"I love you too daddy." She said
"Get some sleep." He said
Rosie got under the blankets and Dave left the room leaving the door opened a crack the way he knew she liked it.
