Rosie woke up early on the day of her party. There was a lot to get done before people came over. She reached over and grabbed her phone and started to look through a few texts she had received. Before she started to scroll though social media. It wasn't long before Sascha headbutted her hands gently.

Rosie chuckled and put her phone down and started to give her dog the attention he clearly wanted. She had decided on the name Sascha for her dog. It meant defending warrior and she had decided on that name after she had dealt with a really nasty person at the dog park the day before and her dog was quick to come to her defence. Her dog didn't attack the other person just put some fear in her and causing her to pick up her dog and leave being huffy. This woman was pissed off because Sascha was -playing with her dog. Sascha wasn't being rough or mean to the little dog they were just playing like dogs do. Rosie knew there would be people who were just naturally scared of her dog because of his breed getting a bad rap but Sascha had never been violent with anyone that she saw. The only time she had ever seen him aggressive was when she met him, and he was hurt and scared.

His leg had healed quickly with rest, and he was already showing his new family how much fun he was. And also, how protective he would be towards Rosie. No one was going to mess with her while he was around.

After a few minutes of affection to her dog Rosie sat up. "Time to get up Sascha." Rosie said

Sascha jumped down from the bed. He had been sleeping on her bed since night one. He used his dog bed only when Rosie wasn't on her bed. Rosie went downstairs the dog following.

"Morning." She said to her dad who was already at the table drinking his coffee and reading the paper. "Any good news in the paper today?"

"Good morning." Dave said. He told her something that was exciting in the newspaper but truthfully the news was rarely all that good.

"What's the front-page story?" Rosie asked

Dave told her and they talked about it. He had noticed his daughter seemingly was starting to show interest in what was going on in in the world and he was glad. He knew in a few years she would be an adult living in the adult world, and she would need to be able to have adult discussions about world events, so he was happy to talk to her about what was going on. Even the stories that discussed the tough subjects.

Rosie opened the back door and let the dog out. Leaving the main door opened and just closing the screen door. She than went to the fridge and cupboard and pulled out the things to make herself some oatmeal while continuing to talk to her dad. When it was ready she sat down and ate while looking through some of the paper that her dad was done with. When she was done eating she put her bowl in the dishwasher and checked outside. Sascha was laying in the sun.

Rosie chuckled. "I think he likes the sun."

Dave smiled. "A lot of dogs do."

Rosie went outside with a plastic bag and picked up the dogs droppings from that morning. She had already scoured the back yard the day before for any from before because the person who regularly cut their grass had come that afternoon. She threw away the bag in a garbage bag in the garage before going inside and washing her hands. Rosie heard barking and she went and opened the back door letting the dog inside.

"Remind me how many people are coming." Dave said

"Fifteen." Rosie said

Dave smiled and nodded. "Okay. That's what I thought. Sixteen with you."

Rosie nodded. They had already gone a few days before and got everything they needed for the day.

"I'm going to go get dressed." Rosie said before going upstairs. She was moving faster again. Her ribs were healing well. She still was sore, but it was far more manageable. This time it was the truth. She was still taking the pain killers, but she was able to go a lot longer without and not be in much pain.

She got dressed. She put on the new bikini she had gotten at the mall the other day. It was blue and had white stars on it. It was definitely the most revealing swimsuit she had ever worn. She had sent a picture to her dad to approve it because no matter how much she tried that man needed to have an opinion. And he had approved it. She added a white dress cover-up. She grabbed a pair of flip flops her sunhat and sunglasses. She went downstairs and went and put her few things outside before going back inside and grabbing a bag that was on the counter. It contained a few bottles of sunscreen. She wanted to make sure everyone had sunscreen and last year at Cass's party a few people didn't and ended up with sunburns. Her included.

Dave filled up a couple coolers with ice and drinks. Water and soda, some bottled iced tea and lemonade. Rosie helped him bring the coolers outside in the shade under the covered deck area.

"That new too?" he asked about the coverup.

"Yup." Rosie said.

"Did you put it and the new swimsuit on the credit card like I told you to?" Dave asked

"No. I tried. Penny insisted on paying." Rosie said

Dave shook his head.

"She is very convincing." Rosie said

"I know." Dave said with a smile

"I did thank her. A lot." Rosie said

"Good." He said.

They both went back inside and started to prep the dough and the ingredients for pizza making later that day.

Around one there was a knock on the door. Rosie went and got it and invited in the couple peoples who had shown up first. Slowly everyone arrived and ended up outside and in the pool.

Rosie took off her coverup and a couple people gasped. She still was bruised pretty bad. And until now none of her friends had seen it. "Oh yeah. Don't worry. I'm fine."

Nolan came over. "You never mentioned you were badly bruised. And this is after several weeks."

"I assumed you realized. That's kind of what happens when something is broken…" She said "But I promise its getting better. Now stop worrying." She added with a smile.

Nolan sighed and nodded.

Rosie got a ball and threw it in the water. Everyone got into the pool and started a game of keep up with the ball.

Rosie got out of the water and grabbed her camera and take a few pictures. When she was done she got back in the water. Everyone was having a great time.

Sascha was laying by the screen door watching.

Dave smiled at the dog. "Do you want to go out? Will you play nice?"

The dog looked up at him. "Rosie. I'm going to let him out." Dave called to her

Rosie smiled "Okay."

Dave opened the door and Sascha ran outside and jumped around the few people who were outside the pool excited for the pets. Rosie got out and went over. "Hey Sascha. Calm down. I know its exciting. But they will still pet you if you are calm."

Sascha calmed down as she petted him. She looked at everyone. "I promise he is friendly. He shouldn't hurt anyone. But I get it if you want to keep your distance." She said to the group.

The party continued and Sascha got lots of pets throughout the day. At one point Rosie went inside and went to her room. She took one of her pain killers. Her ribs were started to hurt a lot again.

Dave was in the hallway and saw her. "Pain level." He said

Rosie jumped. "Shit dad. You scared me."

"Language. And sorry. Didn't mean to." He said

"Its okay." Rosie said

"So. Pain level." He said

"Eight…" Rosie said

"Are you over doing it?" He asked

"No. Its been over twelve hours since I have taken anything. It was time." She said

"How long did you go between the last two?" he asked

Rosie looked down. "Twenty-four." She mumbled.

Dave went over and lifted her chin. "You need to take it easy. Remember the doctor said it was fine but if it started to cause to much pain to stop."

Rosie nodded. "Got it."

Dave let her chin go and let her go back to her guests.

Rosie grabbed herself a drink and sat on the side of the pool in one of the chairs.

Taylor came and sat next to her.

"We haven't talked much since everything happened. I need to thank you. You saved my life." Rosie said

"Of course. I know you would have done the same." Taylor said

Rosie nodded. "In a heartbeat."

"I actually wanted to thank you. You are a big part of the reason my brother and I have gotten close again. The fact that you brought two friend groups together." Taylor said. Her older brother was at the party too. He was on the football team and good friends with Cass and that group. Taylor was her friend from one of her classes. She had been part of the group that came to her house to work on the science project.

Rosie shrugged and winced.

"Pain?" Taylor asked.

"Yeah." Rosie said. Sascha came over and started to lick at her side.

Rosie chuckled. "I'm okay boy." She said petting him. She looked at Taylor. "Keep that to yourself. I don't need everyone worrying."

"You mean you don't need Nolan worrying?" Taylor said with a smirk.

"Hush you." Rosie said with a smile.

Taylor chuckled "You two have an official date yet?"

"Nope. When he's ready I'm sure he will ask." Rosie said

"But you're ready?" Taylor asked.

"I'm ready when he is yes." Rosie said

"What about you? Anyone your interested in?" Rosie asked

Taylor shrugged.

Rosie tilted her head.

"There is someone I have liked for a while. One of my brother's friends. I think I'm off limits for his friends though." Taylor said

"Have you asked him if his friends are off limits?" Rosie asked

"No…" Taylor said.

"You miss one hundred precent of the chances you don't take." Rosie said with a smile.

"Ooh. What chances are you not taking?" One of the guys asked.

"Nothing." Taylor said quickly.

Rosie looked away smirking. She had a good feeling about who the guy was now.

"Doesn't sound like nothing." Nathan said joining the two ladies.

"She likes someone." Rosie said

"Rosie!" Taylor said

"What? I didn't say who. I don't even know who." Rosie pointed out

Nathan chuckled. "I wont tell your brother."

Taylor blushed.

"Besides your brother would be a hypocrite if he cared that you liked someone." He pointed out.

"Yeah. But I don't want to have to tell him who." Taylor said abit

Nathan nodded. "I wont tell him."

"I wont either." Rosie said "But speaking from experience. I wish people had told me up front about their feelings. I didn't like having to find out there was a list of people." She said looking up at the guy eyes narrowed.

Nathan chuckled. "Never going to let us live that one down are ya?"

"Nope." Rosie said with a chuckle.

"This guy go to school with us?" Nathan asked

"Yes." Taylor said "And that's all you get."

He looked at Rosie "You know anything more?"

"Nothing I'm going to tell you." Rosie said

"Fair enough." Nathan said.

"We are going to play shoulder wars." Someone from the pool called. "Any of you want to play?"

All three of them went over to the pool. The games started. Rosie just took some photos.

Nolan went over to her. "I take it you aren't planning on playing?"

"I want to… But its probably better I don't." Rosie said

Nolan nodded abit. "I'm sorry you're still hurting."

"Wont be forever." Rosie said.

Nolan nodded.

"You can go play too." She said with a smile

"The only person I would want to be on a team with cant play. So, I'll sit it out." He said with a charming smile.

Rosie chuckled a little and looked away blushing.

A little later everyone dried off and went inside and changed before they started on making their pizzas.

"Hey Rosie. You going to tell us who it is that you like?" One of the girls like

Rosie chuckled. "Maybe. When we start dating."

Cass and Taylor both snickered. They were the only two people Rosie had told. Of course, Nolan knew too but that was because it was him.

"Wait you two know?" Taylor's brother Pierce asked

"Yup." Taylor said with a smirk

"Mhm." Cass said. "The benefit of being the best female friends." She said chuckling

"I know too." Nolan said with a smirk.

"Okay. Benefit of being the best friends in general." Cass said with a smile

Pizzas were put in the oven.

Rosie started to set the table in the dinning room and a couple people helped her.

When the pizzas were done everyone sat and ate and talked.

"This is really good dough. Where did you get it?" one of the guys named Tyson asked

"Homemade. Family recipe." Rosie said

"Secret?" Tyson asked

"Don't think so no." Rosie said

"Its not." Dave called from the kitchen

Rosie chuckled. "If you want it I can give it to you."

"Yeah. He plans to open a pizzeria one day needs the best dough recipe." One of the girls said

"Well, if you use this recipe I expect five precent of the profits" Rosie said with a smirk.

"Deal." Tyson said

Once they were done eating the cleaned up everything. It would still be a couple hours till it got dark enough for fireworks.

"We could watch a movie or maybe play a board game?" Rosie asked the group

They all agreed to a board game. Rosie went and grabbed cards against humanities. She knew this group was mature enough for it and with having a few editions of it they had plenty of cards for the large group. She brought it in.

"Everyone okay with this?" She asked

They all agreed excitedly. The game was set up and they all played.

Dave grabbed Rosie's camera and took pictures of the group for Rosie when they were all distracted.

They finished playing when it started to get dark. They put away the game. Layer themselves in bug spray and headed across the street to the park with Dave. Dave started to set up the fireworks as the teens all put down blankets on the ground and sat together. Rosie had also brought Sascha along on a leash.

Dave started the fireworks and backed away to watch with the group.

Rosie took some photos but mostly just enjoyed the show. They had about twenty minutes of fireworks. Dave made sure all the garbage from the fireworks were picked up before he went back home leaving the teens and dog to hang out in the park. Sascha had really enjoyed the fireworks as well.

They were hanging in the park as the night got darker and darker. At one-point Sascha got up and started to growl at the darkness.

Rosie looked towards where Sascha was watching.

"Its probably just someone on a walk." She said

The person started to come towards the group and Sascha started to bark. Rosie held his collar so he couldn't go towards them but when they got closer she sighed.

"What do you want?" She said

"I-I had just come for a walk… And I saw you… I need to talk to you…" She said. It was Paige's cousin.

"I have nothing to say to you. And I don't have any interest in listening to anything you have to say." Rosie said holding the dog back. "Sascha. No. Down." She said firmly

The dog listened and laid down but was still watching intently readying to protect his girl is he had to.

"Please." She asked

"She said no." Cass said. Being the only other one in the group to know who she was.

"I wasn't asking for your opinion." The girl said

"But her opinion is far more important to me than yours." Rosie said, "And I said no. I am not interest in talking to you." Rosie said

"It wasn't my idea…." The girl said

"I don't care. You did it regardless of who had the idea." Rosie said. "Now. Go. Away. You're not even supposed to be near me. Don't make me call the police." She added

The girl sighed but walked away. Rosie pet Sascha "Good boy."

"What was that about?" Nolan asked

"Long story." Rosie said. Sascha moved closer and put his head on her lap. He could sense she was really upset.

"I'm starting to get eaten alive." Cass said. "Lets head back."

"Maybe if you used the bug spray." Someone said with a smirk.

Rosie chuckled. "Lets go." She said getting up. Everyone got up and grabbed blankets and Rosie made sure she had a good grip on the leash, and they all headed back to the house and Rosie put on a movie to end the night before everyone started to head home.

Rosie was showing everyone out. Nolan was the last to head out.

"Who was that other girl at the park?" He asked when it was just the two of them.

"Long story." She said

"That's what you said. But I was hoping you would be more willing to tell me when no one else was around." Nolan said

"Another day. Its been a really good day. I do not want to bring it down with talk of that situation." Rosie said.

Nolan nodded. "Okay."

"You're angry…" She said

"No." Nolan said. "Just concerned."

"I'm okay. I promise." Rosie said, "And I will tell you sometime."

"Okay." Nolan said. "Different topic. Next Saturday. Any plans?" He asked

Rosie thought for a moment. "Nope." She said

"Would you like to get dinner with me. A date." He said

Rosie smiled. "Yes." she said

"I will pick you up at 5:00pm. The restaurant is a bit of a drive away." He said

"Okay. Do I get to know where we are going?" Rosie asked

"Nope. Dress nicely. That's all I'm giving you." He said

Rosie chuckled. "Not sure my dad will accept not knowing where I am."

"I'll make sure he knows." Nolan said with a smirk

Rosie chuckled. "So not fair."

"Tough." He said with a smile.

The two said goodbye and Nolan headed out.

Dave was there when Rosie turned around. "I'm so used to it you don't startle me anymore."

Dave chuckled. "Good. But who was at the park?"

"Paige's cousin." Rosie said

Dave sighed.

"Sascha had to be held back. He was not happy she was there." Rosie said

"Probably could sense you didn't like her being there." Dave said

"Even before I saw who it was he was growling and barking." Rosie said

"Did she actually come up to you?" Dave asked

"Yup. I don't think it was planned. I think it was a coincidence but yes. She tried to get me to talk to her. I said no. And told her to go away. Took me saying it a couple times before she left. Even Cass tried to get her to go. She's the only one in the group who knows the whole situation with her." Rosie told him

Dave nodded. "I think we should let the police know. She broke the restraining order."

"If she bothers me again I will. But I just want to forget about it." Rosie said

Dave took a breath. "Rose. I don't…" He started

"Please trust me. I can handle this." She cut him off

"Rosie. She broke the law. I will be telling the police." He said

Rosie sighed. "Great. So, I'm going to have to go back to court." She said walking away from him and up to her room slamming the door.

Dave was surprised. That was the first time she had really slammed her door. And clearly she was over thinking about what was going to happen when it got reported. He gave her some time to calm down.

Rosie took a shower and got ready for bed.

Dave went and knocked on her door about an hour later.

"Yea?" She said

Dave went in. "I called Will. Told him what happened. He said he will go talk to her. Make sure it doesn't happen again. There will be no need to go to court."

Rosie looked down

Dave sat on her bed and opened his arms.

Rosie moved in closer and hugged him. Dave closed his arms around her and hugged her tight.

"Sorry." She said

"Instead of getting angry next time you are scared or upset just talk to me. I will always do everything in my power to protect you." Dave told her

Rosie nodded. "understood."

"Good." He said. He kissed the top of her head. "Now did you have a good day?"

Rosie smiled and nodded. "Did you hear Nolan ask me on a date?"

"I did." Dave said with a smile.

"I take it there is no issue?" she asked

Dave nodded. "I will have to know where he is taking you, but you know your allowed to date."

"Well. He wants to surprise me but said he would tell you where he is taking me." Rosie said

Dave smiled. "How do you feel about it being a surprise?"

"I want to know but I get he wants to make it special." Rosie said

"You deserve special. But if it makes you uneasy you are allowed to tell him you need to know where he is taking you." Dave told her.

Rosie nodded. "I know."

"Good." Dave said. "I'm going to let you get some sleep. Good night." He said getting up.

"Night dad." She said

Dave left the room. Rosie climbed under her blankets and feel into a deep sleep quickly.
