Last Night

"Amazing."

Buttoning up his robe, Severus glances down at the golden-haired, beautiful idiot on the bed. Perfect. Well, perfectly moronic, but also intensely amusing.

And... other things intensely. Such as those shared all evening, the better half of the night. And apparently the Golden Boy approves.

"I would expect no less." he replies, and Gilderoy smiles. And writhes, then closes his eyes and goes to sleep.

So he never bothered to let go of the afterglow. Instead, he's lazily draped across- and tangled in the sheets. Poser. It was worth it for the compliments, though. Severus doesn't get many of those.

Not that he's desperate or anything. But Lockhart makes such a cute toy. So responsive to simple drugs.

Too bad he can only gag him for their sessions, he'd be a lot more bearable permanently mute.

Possibly more useful, too, if he had no choice but to sit there and look pretty. Much as he is now. He's also shifting and murmuring nonsense in his state of half-awareness. "Rose blue isn't as good as raspberry curtains..."

Quite.

Another button closed, and Severus smirks to himself. Must slip something in his chamomile tea sometime.

"What're you smiling at, darling?"

Oh, he's somewhat awake after all. Severus turns and looks.

Pale skin, dishevelled golden locks, and big, gormless blue eyes. He peers back into those mercilessly and enjoys making him flinch even in his drowsy stupor.

"I was considering different ways of making you shut up." Completely sincere and honest. "Naturally, cutting out your tongue might be the most effective and permanent way."

Where Lockhart flinched looking into his eyes, he now smiles. "That's alright then." He rolls over, presenting a round, firm backside. And wriggles it with a small giggle.

Severus lifts an eyebrow. Either this man never had a brain to start with, or it got lost somewhere along the way several hours ago. Whatever.

"I thoroughly enjoyed conversation with you. Goodnight." And he makes to go, robes trailing behind him.

He hasn't reached the door when he hears the murmured reply.

"Same time tomorrow?"

How touching. It almost sounds like a plea. A very sleepy one. Well, good.

"We'll see."

That appears to be enough, the red velvet duvet shifts, and as Severus looks back, Lockhart is curled up like an infant. It looks quite comfortable, actually.

"'S right then.." is followed by a heartfelt yawn, and Severus reaches for the doorknob.

"I know how to open the Chamber of ..things." Another yawn, some mumbling. "Secrets."

He freezes. Then regains composure quickly, turns around and lifts an eyebrow at the half-asleep celebrity. Babbling nonsense, surely.

"Become any more simple-minded and I shall buy you a pacifier. Go to sleep, Lockhart."

And without further words, he turns on his heel and leaves the room, considering. Pacifier. Now there's an idea...
