Chapter Six: Two Worlds Once Divided
Musa's answer to Elyssa's question was interrupted by rustling in the trees coming from both sides of the small group of travelers.
"They found you," Musa whispered, 'Stay very quiet and hope they retreat."
"Who's they?" Timmy asked in just as low of a voice.
"The other fairies," Musa answered him, "They don't take kindly to outsiders. I was the only one determined enough to let you come here, it was the only way I knew how to set us free."
"Freeze!" another voice shouted, but it sounded like a man's voice, "Who's there?" The group stood silent, waiting for the man to give up. However, he didn't, and a laser blast shot through the air.
"Oh, do you want a piece of this?" Timmy threatened, pulling out his own laser gun to defend them, "Two can play at that game!"
"Timmy, will you knock it off." Tecna said, lowering down his weapon. The sound of footsteps came closer, and two groups of people revealed themselves. One was a group of soldiers, and the Zenithian Queen and Princess immediately recognized their armor. They too were from Zenith. On the other side, a small number of people faced them. One had a pair of laser string gloves and another was a fairy.
"Drop your weapons!" the man with the gloves ordered. He wasn't the man who spoke earlier.
"I should ask you to do the same!" a dark skinned man with hair in a long braided ponytail shot back. It was him who had spoken the first time.
"You know our people have come to an agreement that the land be divided between us," the man with the laser string gloves countered. He was much lighter skinned and his raven hair was put back in a ponytail that ran down his back, "You're on our territory."
"Wait, Helia," the fairy beside him chimed in, "Musa, you brought outsiders to the Enchanted Forest. It's no wonder the Zenithian soldiers caught word as well." The fairy standing next to Helia looked similar to Musa. She had an olive skin tone and emerald green eyes. Her graceful caramel colored hair fell to past her knees, with light blonde highlights where her hair was tied in twin buns. The buns were accented with dark pink streaks and she wore a turquoise tiara. Her dress straps tied around her neck, and the dress itself was multiple shades of pink. Strips of light green, dark green and purple accented the chest of the dress, and darker pink material cascaded from the front of her waist with the lighter pink of the skirt. Like Musa, this fairy's feet were also laced with elegant barefoot sandals. These were turquoise with large magenta colored jewels separating the middle toes. The fairy's wings resembled those of a butterfly, a light green with multiple shades of pink outlining and a lighter green in the center. The tips of the wings were adorned with emerald green jewels.
"It was the only way we can be set free," Musa insisted, "The Queen of Zenith assures me that she is here to find answers and to rectify the mistakes of the past generations of her people."
"You dared bring more Zenithians here!" Helia shouted furiously.
"Get them!" the other man ordered as the Zenithian soldiers began to run for the traveling group. Instantly, Tecna jumped to their defense and created another shield to protect her friends and family.
"Magic?" the other man thought out loud in astonishment, "Are you really the Queen of Zenith?"
"Yes," Tecna answered simply, "Musa is correct. My companions and I are here to learn the truth and set things right for the realm of the Magical Dimension.
"Then why do you have magic?" the second fairy asked, "The magic of the rest of the dimension has never co-existed in harmony with the technological advancements of Zenith."
"If the intent of your grandparents was to join Zenith and the rest of the Magical Dimension in peace and harmony, then I could be what was to come of that treaty," Tecna pondered, "The fact that I possess powers over technology is lost on me as well. I have yet to discover how I was born with them, and I will inform you all as soon as I know. It could be important in accomplishing my mission."
"And what mission is that?" the man with dark skin asked. Elyssa suddenly looked at him, carefully examining his features.
"You don't happen to be the descendent of Lieutenant Marduk by chance?" she asked, "He worked for our family's army."
"Yes, I am his grandson. My name is Nabu," he said, "I was able to hear word that your parents passed away. What happened?"
"They told us they were going to Solaria," Tecna chimed in, "But seeing as the royal family is trapped here, their actual destination remains a mystery. It happened five years ago."
"Yes, I can see them," Nabu said, "You look so much like them."
Then, he turned to his group of Zenithian soldiers, "Men, these are the daughters of King Electronio. My grandfather served to protect him while on the mission to Magix, and we will be here to serve the royal family again." As Nabu made this announcement, Helia and his group of Magixians began to raise their weapons once more.
"Stop! Please!" Tecna begged, "Musa was the one who called me. She knows of a portal somewhere that is unstable. From the information I have gathered, the results of this instability will be catastrophic. The Magic Dimension will cease to exist. I can sense that is the reason I was born with magic, I was called to save you all."
"I only listen to the Voice of Nature." the other fairy insisted, "And the balance of nature is upset! Why should we ever trust a being with powers over anything else but natural elements?" Suddenly, a blazing fire began to spread from out of nowhere, surrounding the trees and the people occupying the space.
"It's Princess Bloom!" Helia shouted fearfully, "She is furious that more Zenithians have invaded our realm!"
"Everyone kneel down!" Nabu commanded. Everyone obeyed as two more fairies approached through the blaze. The first was a fairy with a fair complexion, sky blue eyes and long, bright red hair that lengthened to her knees. He hair was highlighted with yellow-orange at the bangs and tips. Two sets of blue heart shaped barrettes on either side of her head fastened two small sections of her hair. The fairy donned a multi-layered, frilly dress in multiple shades of blue with a collar at her neck accented by a pink bow. She wore the same sandals as the other fairies, in blue and reaching to her calves. Her wings were light yellow and pink, with a soft blue outlining. Green and dark blue jewels dangled from them.
The second fairy had sun blonde hair with bleach-blond highlights, a slightly tanned complexion and brown eyes. Her hair cascaded in length to her ankles and was styled in high ponytails with cyan diamond-shaped ties. She also wore a turquoise colored tiara. Her ensemble consisted of an orange bikini top with blue midriff straps and a mini skirt resembling petals in orange and pink. Like the others, she donned strapped sandals in orange that reached below her knees and were decorated with a blue angled crescent shape between her toes. Her wings were shades of blue and yellow, with pink and orange outlining and small red gems dangling from them.
"Princess Bloom, Princess Stella, please forgive us for allowing these people to intrude on our land," Helia pleaded, still on one knee.
"There is nothing to forgive," the redhead fairy, Bloom, began, "Musa's messages are right. There is a portal located somewhere in the Magical Dimension that is dangerously unstable. Should it finally collapse, it will create a gigantic black hole that will slowly devour the rest of this dimension and leave nothing in its wake."
"We have watched this one who claims to be Queen of Zenith carefully, and she has proven her worth so far," the other fairy, Stella, added, "The stars tell me that she the only one who can close the portal. She is gifted with powers so that she can bridge the gap between the magic of the rest of the dimension and the advancements of Zenith. Since you have answered Musa's calls, we hope that your intentions are what they say they are."
"I understand that trust is a great barrier for the people in this forest," Tecna began to reassure the two princesses, "But I am willing to put my life on the line for the future of the Magical Dimension if necessary."
"Tecna, what are you saying?" Timmy interjected as he clasped onto her arm in protest.
Despite her lover's protests, Tecna continued, "Is there any way I can find the portal?"
"The stars always guide the way for me," Stella said, "They tell me it is located in one of the northern realms far beyond the reaches of the main circle. But unfortunately the stars will only reveal the specific location to the one most willing to venture there."
"Tecna had already said she would be willing to do anything," Musa pressed, "Surely the stars know she is telling the truth."
"Even though I am the fairy of the Sun and Moon, I don't make the rules," Stella informed them regretfully, "Tecna will have to seek it out for herself, but time is of the essence."
"Yes, I am aware," Tecna said gravely.
"Wait a second!" Timmy cut in again, "So what you're trying to tell us is that Tecna has to sacrifice her life to save the Magical Dimension?"
"Timmy please, these are the most powerful and influential members of royal society," Tecna reminded him in a slightly sharp tone, "Show some respect."
Timmy turned to look his beloved in the eyes and confessed, "Tecna, I know that I said I'd support you in this journey but now I can't let you go through with this."
"Me either," Elyssa chimed in, "Tecna, if they is anything wrong that you think we can't help you with, this is not the answer!"
"Timmy, Elyssa, stop. This is nonsense," Tecna argued, "I love you both, and because I love you, I want to save you. This has nothing to do with me or my insecurities. I'm doing what's right."
"Tecna is truly the embodiment of the balance between logic and love," Princess Bloom commented,"And your parents are"
"King Electronio and Queen Magnethia," Tecna answered, "They passed away five years ago."
"Magnethia," Musa pondered before declaring, "She was part Magixian! That's how Tecna got her powers!"
"Our mother had Magixian blood," Tecna echoed Musa's statement so that the group consisting of Helia and the other fairy could hear, "She must've allowed our father to escape the attack. And now that I know the origin of my powers, I promise you I will use them to bring harmony to the people of the realms of the Magical Dimension and the realm of Zenith!" With Tecna's vow, Bloom's fire began to extinguish at that second and the crowd of people began to cheer at this discovery. Tecna had gained the full trust of the group of Magixians, now that they knew she had it in her blood. She had proved to the most powerful fairies in the Magic Dimension that she could utilize her logic and love equally for the greater good. The group of Magixians started to held hands with the Zenithian soldiers as they continued to cheer. Two worlds once divided were now united.
