She unbuckled her seatbelt once the sign for it was off. She got off the plane and went and got her bag from luggage claims going through customs and than going out to find her dad. She saw him and went to him dropping her bags and hugging him tight.
Dave hugged her tight. "Flight was okay?"
"Yes. Just missed you." Rosie said
"Missed you too." Dave said. "Come on. Lets get home." He took her bag. "Little heavier than when you left."
Rosie chuckled. "Over ten pounds heavier. It was at its max weight."
Dave shook his head. "I haven't looked at the credit card yet. Should I have?"
"You'll see half of what was spent." She said laughing
"Emily spoil you?" Dave asked
"Entirely." Rosie said with a smile. "And I thanked her a lot."
"Glad to hear it. Not sure you deserved it after the stunt you pulled though." Dave said
Rosie sighed. "I'm hearing about that from you still huh?"
"Papa and I will be sitting down with you, and we have several things to discuss yes." Dave said
"Will just be talking?" Rosie asked
"Yes." Dave said. "Unless you did something I don't know about."
"No." Rosie said
"Okay." He said he put her bag into the truck
Rosie turned her phone on. She texted Emily. 'I am in the car with dad.'
She texted all her friends. 'Just getting in the car with my dad. I am home.'
Emily texted back 'Good. Talk to you very soon.'
She got responses from her friends saying things like 'welcome home' and 'cant wait to see you!'
They got home and went inside Dave took her bag to her room.
Rosie got tackled with hugs from her sisters and her dog was jumping around her feet. She pet him abit before hugging Hunter who waited till the girls cleared out.
"Hi papa." She said
"Hey. How was the flight." Hunter asked
"It was good. Read." She said
"Glad to hear it." Hunter said with a smile.
Rosie went to her room. Sascha followed. Rosie took a shower before opening her luggage taking out all her dirty clothes and taking them to the laundry room dropping them on the floor. She would get to them later. She went and took all the gifts for her family out. And brought them all downstairs to the living room.
"Gift time." She said
She started with her dad handing him a fancy bottle of whiskey.
Dave raised an eyebrow.
"Emily was the one who purchased it. I gave her the money. I claimed it at customs. They didn't say anything." Rosie said she knew she got lucky with that.
"Okay. It's a very nice-looking whiskey. Thank you." He said
For Hunter she got him a cologne she knew he liked that he couldn't get in the states anymore.
"Thank you. Very nice." Hunter said with a smile
For Hayley a harry potter duffle. Callie a liberty print knot watch. For the twins both real gold earrings they were not the same earrings. She picked ones that would go with their personality they had just gotten their ears pierced the week before. "for when you can change out those ones." Rosie said. For the youngest two she had a really hard time and settled on a Paddington bear for Scarlet and a plush of one of the queen's corgis for Kara. She also gave everyone a box of chocolates or fancy cookies from Emily.
Everyone thanked her for their gifts. Dave smiled "You did really well with gifts."
"I admit some were harder than others, but I think I did." Rosie said with a smile
He kissed her head. "Trying to soften me up?"
"Why would I need to do that?" She said smiling innocently
Dave shook his head. "Ooh. You figured out your mom's innocent look huh?"
Rosie chuckled.
Sascha laid at her feet. She knelt down and put a new leather collar around his neck taking off his old one.
"Even for the dog huh?" Hunter said
"Yup" Rosie said with a smile
"What did you get for your friends?" Dave asked
"Different things for everyone." Rosie said before listing them all off. "And for the record I did that with my money. I have been saving because I knew I would be going to London eventually, so I had enough saved to get gifts for everyone." Rosie said
Dave smiled and nodded. "Okay."
"Did you get yourself anything?" Hunter asked
"Lots of things." Rosie said
"Her suitcase was over ten pounds heavier than when she left." Dave said
"And I'm glad they didn't weight my carry on because that was stuffed and over the weight restrictions." Rosie said
Hunter chuckled.
"Favorite thing you bought yourself?" Hunter asked
"Um. Vintage tea set and scarf for my hogwarts house. Emily bought me a pretty dress from this one-of-a-kind shop that I love too." Rosie said
"What else did she buy you?" Dave asked
"Some fancy stationary from this really cool stationary shop. And paid for most of the meals out. I managed to pay for one when she went to the bathroom right before the bill came." Rosie said
"Good job." Dave said with a smile
"I tried other places, but she refused." Rosie said
"I believe you." Dave said
Soon dinner was served.
Hayley looked at Rosie. "You have something to tell everyone?" she asked with a smile
Rosie chuckled abit. "Yes. I do actually. I wanted to wait to tell you all in person. Hayley already knows because we told our friends when we did a group video chat while I was in London. Nolan and I, are back together."
Dave and Hunter smirked at each other.
"You knew?" Rosie asked looking at Hayley. "You promised you would let me."
"I didn't." Hayley said
"Rosie. Your wearing the necklace he gave you again." Dave said
Rosie touched her necklace. It was true she had just put it back on after she showered. "Oh. I gave it away myself. Sorry Hayley."
"Its okay." Hayley said with a smile
"Any chance you can reconsider me dating before I'm sixteen?" Hayley asked
"No." Hunter said
"Dad. Can you please talk to him?" Hayley asked
"I'm on the same page as him for this." Dave said
"But you let Rosie date before she was sixteen." Hayley said
"Yes. When it was solely my decision. And even if I could convince Papa. Your mom wouldn't change her mind." Dave said
Hayley sulked.
"Its less than two years. You will be fine." Hunter said
Hayley looked at Rosie and mouthed "help."
"Could you be more obvious?" Rosie asked
"Rosie." Dave said. "Something you want to say?"
"Not right now." Rosie said
"Okay. Why not?" Dave asked
"Because its not appropriate right now." She said indicating to the younger kids.
"Ah." Dave said. When everyone was done Dave told the younger kids to find something to do.
Hayley helped Rosie clear the table before they sat down.
"I am not trying to be disrespectful. Or disagree with you about this." Rosie said
"But?" Hunter said
"Why cant she date till she is sixteen?" Rosie asked
"Not your business." Dave said
"Okay. Well maybe not. But isn't it unfair for her not to have a reason? Because she doesn't seem to." Rosie said
"She knows the reason." Hunter said
"No I don't." Hayley said
"Because your mom and I had a conversation about this many years ago and that's the decision we came to. I don't expect you are going to like it, but you are going to follow it." Hunter said
"That's bull." Hayley said
"That's life." Hunter said
"Anything else you think you need to say?" Dave asked
She shook her head.
"Hayley. Go find something to do." Hunter said
Hayley huffed and went off.
"Sorry. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful." Rosie said
"That's not what this is about." Hunter said. "Your motive was to try and help your sister."
"Good motive. Method needs some work." Dave said with a small smiled
Rosie nodded and let out a breath. "This about London than?"
"Yes." Dave said
"We understand. You are young and you are or were hurting and needed to get some space." Hunter said
"And there is nothing wrong with that. There wasn't even anything wrong with going to London to get that space. But you and Cass kissed and than instead of talking to her about it and fixing things you just took off and left her wondering if things would be okay." Dave said
Rosie nodded.
"And even if you weren't trying to manipulate Emily. You took advantage of an amazing offer she gave you." Hunter said
"And than when you were there you completely disobeyed her and got yourself in a situation where if you hadn't got away. We could be sitting at your funeral right now." Dave said
Rosie forced herself to keep eye contact with them when they were talking.
"You ran from the pictures of you that have surfaced online and put yourself in a situation were someone else could have done that or so much worse." Hunter said
"Do you understand that you got very lucky? And that you are not invincible?" Dave asked
"Yes sir." Rosie said softly
"Do we need to have an adult with you twenty-four seven to make sure you don't do anything like this again?" Hunter asked
"No sir." Rosie said
"Now Hayley told us that you video chatted with Cass, and Nolan and the group and fixed everything." Dave said
"Yes. Full honesty. Emily made me. But I'm glad she did." Rosie said
"Okay." Dave said. "Thank you for being honest."
"And we know Emily dealt with what happened in London." Hunter said
"But Rosie. You are on probation." Dave said
Rosie nodded. "What does that mean?"
"It means you need to use your brain. You do something like this ever again and you will be grounded for a year. And I don't care how old you are. You do something like this when you're an adult you will still ground you for a year." Dave said
Rosie bit the inside of her mouth to keep her face straight and nodded.
"We need to hear you say you understand." Hunter said
"I understand." Rosie said
"Your friends know what happened?" Dave asked
"Well I had the bruise show up on my face the day after so when I video chatted they saw it." Rosie said, "And I was asked."
"I don't know who was more annoyed with me. Nolan or Cass." Rosie said
"Well considering how Nolan was when things happened next door I'm not surprised he is upset that you put yourself in danger again." Dave said
Rosie nodded. "I know I made a mistake. And there is no excuse. I wont do it again."
"Glad to hear it." Hunter said
"Thank you both for letting me go." Rosie said
"We are happy you had a good time other than the one situation." Dave said
Rosie nodded. "I did. Emily is awesome."
Dave and Hunter smiled
"What was the end result with Cass?" Hunter asked
"We both felt the same way. It was weird. Helped Cass's crush to go away." Rosie said
"Hrm. Didn't I ask you if that could be the case?" Hunter asked
"You did…" Rosie said "I will listen to your advice next time."
"Good." Hunter said
"Papa and I have a lot more life experience than you. There are things we will understand that you don't yet." Dave said
"I know. And I appreciate the advice even if I don't say it or act like it all the time." Rosie said
They both nodded.
"Lecture over?" Rosie asked
"Yes." Dave said
"You can go" Hunter said
Rosie got up and hugged them both before going upstairs.
"I don't think she believed we would ground her as an adult." Hunter said
"No she didn't. I saw her keeping herself from laughing. She wont be laughing if we have to do it." Dave said
Hunter shook his head. "Nope she wont."
The house quickly started to wind down with baths or showers and bed for everyone.
