Chapter 5:

Reclaiming The Temple - Part 1:

Little Insect Trouble

Twilight and Spike followed Celestia and Luna through the passage that would take them to the Alicorn Temple that the Royal Sisters were talking about. But as they reached the gates to move forward, Celestia and Luna stopped and turned to face Twilight and Spike with fear and disappointment.

"What's wrong?" Twilight asked, confused on why they stopped.

"It appears that Slash's soldiers have knocked the other two statues out of place…," Celestia replied with sorrow.

"...Heathens," Luna added, shaking her head.

"What other two statues?" Twilight asked.

"On the other side of this door are two statues like these, Twilight," Celestia answered, pointing to the two alicorns statues beside her.

"And when all four statues are positioned correctly, the door opens," Luna finished.

"So if the statues are out of place on the other side, then what do you want us to do?" Spike asked, scratching his head.

"Twilight, we need you to get in there and move the other statues into place," Celestia said.

"Me? But how?" Twilight asked, wondering how she could get in to move the statues.

"There's a small tunnel that animals use to access the cave. Find it and use it," Luna instructed.

"Okay, animals. Okay, so Twilight you do that and I'll wait here to keep the Princesses company," Spike joked.

Twilight groaned, "Come on, Spike,". She did not have time for any of Spike's fooling around as she dragged the dragon along by the tail with her magic.

Twilight and Spike then began their search for the tunnel to get inside the temple. They headed towards a nearby cavern which was blocked by some vines and branches, Twilight used her magic to push them out of the way, and they continued on their search. It wasn't long until they made it out of the caverns and found what they were looking for.

"Hey, Twilight, I think I found it," Spike called out as Twilight approached him and saw that the hole was blocked with branches.

"Yup, this is the tunnel, alright. But how are we gonna get in?" Twilight asked, trying to figure out how to get pass the branches. Then an idea came to her, "Smash it?" She suggested to Spike and he shrugged.

"Hey, you know what they say, 'When in doubt, break it' right? So go nuts, sis," He encouraged the alicorn.

Taking a deep breath, Twilight jumped into the air to twirl herself into a spin, and then slammed into the hole breaking the branches off. As she and Spike landed, they found themselves to be on the other side of the gates.

"Looks like we're on the other side of the gates. Now we just have to find those statues and put them back in place," Twilight said, looking around to see where the statues are. Spike looked around for the statues but then he heard a noise and looked over Twilight's head then had his face turn to fear.

Spike tapped Twilight's shoulder, "Um, Twilight, quick question, is it common to find Spiders inside old temples?" He asked.

"Well, yes, Spiders will build their webs in old places, not just temples but also in houses, caves, and dungeons," Twilight answered as she raised a brow at Spike, "Why do you ask?".

"Well," Spike whimpered as he pointed behind and above Twilight as the Alicorn looked and saw what he was pointing at and why he'd ask. Because above them, are three huge white spiders looking down on them with hungry looks in their many eyes.

"Oh, that's why…," Twilight whimpered, as her eyes widened in fright.

Soon, the spiders leapt down and let out shrieking roars, showing their large needle-like fangs. Absolutely terrified, Twilight and Spike screamed and started dashing off as the first spider tried to take a bite out of them and they gave chase through the tunnel.

"Don't let them catch you, Spike! Don't let them catch you!" Twilight shouted to Spike as they kept running and flying with the Spiders chasing behind them, snapping their jaws.

"I won't! I won't!" Spike shouted back.

As they kept running, Twilight spotted something ahead of them. It was the two statues they were looking for.

"The Statues!" Twilight exclaimed as she screeched to a halt.

Spike bumped into her flanks not much later, "Huh? What statues?" He asked.

Twilight saw the spiders coming towards them and quickly ducked herself and Spike out of the way as the spiders missed them and looked around to see where their meal had disappeared to until they heard a familiar female voice calling to them.

"Hey, you Itsy-Bitsy Spiders! Come and get me, if you can!" Twilight taunted as the three giant Spiders turned around and saw her waving her tail at them and then she turned to give them a goofy face with her tongue sticking out.

"Are you crazy?!" Spike asked, not believing that Twilight is actually letting the Spider hunt her.

"Spike move the statues in place while I take care of them!" Twilight instructed Spike quickly, before finding herself being chased by the spiders again.

Spike ducked and watched as the Spiders managed to corner Twilight at the next gate. The young dragon found his chance and made his way to the statues and started pushing as hard as he can. Meanwhile, as the Spiders began to close in to eat, Twilight put on a smirk and used her new powerful magic to grab one of the spiders and used it as a baseball bat to knock the other two away.

Back with Spike, he was still pushing the first statue with all of his might, unaware that another giant Spider was above him and starting to approach the young dragon. However, that didn't go unnoticed by Twilight, because while she was pinned down by one of the spiders who have recovered, she noticed the other approaching Spike. So thinking quickly, Twilight kicked the spider off of her and quickly zapped the one approaching Spike into oblivion as the young dragon managed to get the first statue into place.

"Twilight, I got the first statue in place!" Spike called out to her as he finished pushing one of the statues.

"Okay, now do the second one and fa-AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" was all Twilight said before she got pounced on by the second Spider.

Seeing Twilight struggling with the Spiders, Spike knew he had to hurry and started to move the second statue. But as Spike began moving the statue, "Uh, maybe we could talk about this?" Twilight pleaded to the second spider.

But the Spider did the opposite and started going crazy, spinning around and then tossed Twilight into the air and into his mouth.

"TWILIGHT!" Spike yelled.

But as the Spider was about to enjoy his meal, he felt a funny feeling in his stomach and looked to see his stomach was glowing a light pink color. Spike noticed it too until suddenly, the Spider started to feel that his stomach was starting to heat up until suddenly…

BOOM!

The spider exploded into oblivion and Twilight was revealed to still be alive as she landed on the ground, now looking very angry and determined. The first spider was a little startled at first, but shaking off his fear, he made his attempt to attack the Alicorn. However, Twilight quickly used her magic and zapped him into oblivion as well, leaving only one spider left.

Twilight then ran towards Spike who has so far managed to push the statue halfway to its original position. He just has to keep pushing to get it back in, so the gate can open.

"This second statue is only halfway to its position, Twilight!" Spike informed her as Twilight came and helped him push the statue the rest of the way.

"Quick, we gotta hurry, speed push! There's not much time! No pressure! Well, there's a lot of pressure! That's it, push it in, Spike! Now with pressure!" Twilight said quickly as she looked back to see the final spider heading right towards them.

While Twilight was talking quickly, she and Spike pushed the statue as fast as they can with all their might and strength until it finally got into position, "It's in! IT'S IN!" Spike cheered.

"DUCK!" Twilight yelled as Spike hid behind her and Twilight lit up her horn once more as the Spider leaped towards them with opened jaws and then…

White.

That was all Spike could see, a big white haze.

"I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead, I died. I'm dead," Spike chanted to himself, lying down while covering his eyes in fright.

"Um, Spike?" Twilight said, tapping his shoulder with her horn.

Spike uncovers his eyes and to his surprise, all the spider was gone!

Spike laughed in victory and cheered while hugging and spinning with Twilight around.

Not much later, with the statues in place, Twilight and Spike heard the door starting to move and suddenly it opened by itself, revealing Celestia and Luna standing outside as they marched in.

"Well, done, Twilight. I hope there wasn't any trouble for you and Spike," Celestia congratulated.

"Yes, we've thought we heard some noise in here or something," Luna pointed out to them.

"Well, it was…just a little insect trouble. Nothing, Spike and I can't handle," Twilight said, rubbing her arm while smiling.

Spike, however, crossed his arms while frowning. That trouble was anything but little, "Little insects, my tail sections," He commented as they continued their trek to the temple.
