Chapter 10:
Twilight Can Fly
After Twilight has finished her training of magic, the four head back to the room where they've entered the temple from. Spike looked at the pool with curiosity and then sees Celestia and Luna looking into the pool and decided to ask them a question about it.
"So, what's with this pool here, your majesties?" Spike asked.
"Well, if you must know, Spike. Certain Alicorns have the ability to see visions. The thoughts, memories, and dreams of others. And to see what's happening in places far away," Luna explained.
"Luna and I are such Alicorns. And in this pool, the visions come forth," Celestia added, gesturing to the green pool.
"Really? Okay, what am I thinking now?" Spike asked.
Celestia and Luna remained silent.
"What am I thinking now?" Spike asked again.
The Royal Sisters were still silent and haven't answered yet but looked silently annoyed.
"Okay, now? Now? Now, now, now, now, now?!" Spike asked, impatiently.
"I'm afraid it's not that easy, Spike. It takes time, reflection, and patience," Celestia explained to him curtly as she and Luna looked into the pool again.
"But what we do see in the Pool Of Vision is that Voltwing and Storm Heart, two of the Guardians, are being held in Yakyakistan," Luna told them.
"Twilight, while Luna and I look for details on the others, we want you to venture there and rescue them," Celestia instructed the young Alicorn.
"But remember, just look around. And if you and Spike encountered Slash, run…you're not ready to face him yet," Luna warned.
"Okay, so if we see danger, we just run, got it," Spike remembered.
"But Celestia, Luna, how do we get to Yakyakistan?" Twilight asked, knowing it was too far to walk to.
"We're glad you asked, Twilight," Celestia said as she smiled.
"Wait, why are two smiling? I don't like it," Spike said, getting a bad feeling about this…
"So let me get this straight. You two are saying that I…can fly?" Twilight asked in disbelief, making sure if she got it right.
Celestia and Luna both gave Twilight a wink, which means Twilight is correct.
"Maybe you two have been hanging in that castle a little too long, you two. Twilight can't fly and we all know that," Spike pointed out.
"Yeah, I mean a little fresh air may do you two good." Twilight laughed, "I've never flown in my life. I mean some Pegasus have even tried teaching me but I've never done it,".
"It's you who'll need some fresh air, Twilight. And Pegasus flight is not the same as Alicorn flight," Celestia told her, and Twilight was surprised by the straight forwardness, "Now close your eyes, take a deep breath, and empty your mind…," Celestia said as she closed her eyes and Twilight followed her example…
Outside, on the balcony, Twilight still had her eyes closed as she listened to the royal sisters' flying instructions.
"Yes, yes, that's it. Now feel the power of your ancestors coursing through your body. In times of crisis they will come to you and teach you…unlocking powers you never knew you had," Luna further instructed.
"Oh, this I gotta see," Spike commented with a grin.
"Just forget everything you ever thought you knew…forget yourself," Celestia said as Twilight kept her eyes closed and her head down as her wings started moving up and down slowly, "Only through forgetting will you remember what your ancient blood already knows…,".
And then suddenly her body started to rise as her wings started flapping faster.
"You can fly," Celestia and Luna said in unison with smiles.
As her wings kept flapping, Twilight opened her eyes and saw that her hooves were no longer touching the ground which means… "I'm flying, I'm flying. I'm flying!" Twilight declared with happy tears in her eyes. Spike couldn't believe his eyes either, seeing that his Alicorn Sister can finally fly…
Not much later, Twilight sets out flying high in the sky in the clouds and had her eyes closed. But as she opened them. Twilight was surprised to see how high she was flying as she looked down at the land below her. Then a familiar voice was heard near her.
"Are you kidding?! She's really flying!" Spike cheered, "Welcome to the club, Twi!".
Twilight looked next to her to see Spike flying next to her.
"Would that be the 'Bragging Reptiles Club'?" Twilight asked sarcastically, raising a brow.
"No, Smarty-hooves, the 'Flying Club'," Spike corrected with a smirk.
"Yeah, I could get used to this," Twilight smiled as she flew, "Next stop: Yakyakistan!" She declared as she increased speed.
On her way to Yakyakistan, Twilight flew above the clouds with rainbows raining down from them. Then she flew down and below her, she saw some forests and mountains. Along the way to her destination, Twilight saw more amazing views of Equestria down below her until she spotted something ahead of her.
Flying above in the air, were Ape Creatures catapulting themselves into the air and towards Twilight. "WHOA!" She said. But the Alicorn managed to roll out of the way to avoid collisions with them and shot some magic bombs at their catapults.
Twilight kept on flying until she spotted some more Ape Creatures flying through the air. But sending her magic bombs into where they were catapulted from and then boom! They exploded.
Twilight then continues making her way to Yakyakistan until she saw the mountains that'll lead her to the place right ahead of her. But as Twilight approaches those mountains, more Ape Creatures were shot out into the air, but unfortunately, they kept missing Twilight and the Alicorn continued flying to her destination.
But with all hooting, hollering, and booming they've been making, avalanches began to occur and glaciers began to collide. Twilight, however, didn't let those things stop her as she bobbed and weaved past the avalanches quickly and flew under, over, and between the gaps of the colliding glaciers while the Ape Creatures just ended up being buried in snow and blocked by the glaciers.
It wasn't long until Twilight finally made it and saw her destination right ahead of her…
Yakyakistan.
Twilight then flew down for a landing, except for one problem…
"Wait, how do you land?!" Twilight gasped, flailing her legs as she got closer to the ground and two figures down below saw her.
