Daniel threw a Poké Ball. "Pikachu, let's electrify them!"

Arabella tossed a Poké Ball. "Bulbasaur, let's go!"

Pikachu and Bulbasaur appeared in front of their respective trainers.

"Pikachu, use Quick Attack!"

"Bulbasaur, dodge it and use Razor Leaf!"

Pikachu went to attack Bulbasaur, but Bulbasaur avoided Quick Attack and successfully hit Razor Leaf.

"Bulbasaur, now use Vine Whip!" Arabella ordered.

"Pikachu, dodge it!" Daniel shouted.

Pikachu failed to dodge Vine Whip and fainted.

Daniel looked at Arabella as he had Pikachu return to his Poké Ball. "That was quite impressive, Arabella."

Arabella smirked. "Thanks, Daniel."

Daniel tossed another Poké Ball in the air. "Go, Electrike! Use Thunder Fang!"

"Bulbasaur, dodge and use Razor Leaf!"

Bulbasaur hopped over Electrike as it went to use Thunder Fang and hit it with Razor Leaf.

"Electrike, use Quick Attack!"

"Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip when Electrike gets close!"

Electrike went to use Quick Attack, but Bulbasaur caught it with vines before it could attack. Electrike was struggling to stand.

"Bulbasaur, Razor Leaf!" Arabella shouted.

Bulbasaur sent numerous leaves flying at Electrike. Electrike fell over, fainted.

"Electrike is unable to battle, meaning the winner is Arabella of Nimbus Town." The referee declares.

Arianne and Leo cheered as Daniel handed Arabella the Power Badge.

"Congratulations." Daniel told Arabella. "That was quite the strategy."

"Thank you. Ricardo helped me with it." Arabella admitted.

"And you executed it perfectly. It takes a good battler to pull that off, even if she got help from a member of the Elite Four."

"Well, thanks for the compliment, Daniel."

Daniel nods. "I truly mean it. Aren't you three going to Drizzleton City next?"

"We are." Leo answers.

"That's what I thought. You'll need to travel through both Route 2 and Route 3 to get there."

"Thanks for the heads up." Arianne replies.

"A lot of trainers do their training for Brooke's gym along the routes as well, so be prepared to get challenged to a battle."

"Alright. Thanks for the advice, Daniel. We'll be ready."

Arabella called Brooke from her Cross Transceiver. "Hey, Brooke."

"Hey!" Brooke replied. "Did you beat the Covolt City Pokemon Gym?"

"We did. We'll be on our way to come battle you in Drizzleton City."

"Fantastic! I'll make sure to have slots open for appointments to battle you three. Plus, you should make it here in time to compete in this week's Pokemon Contest here in Drizzleton City."

"I'm not so sure about that."

"Come on, Arabella! It'll be fun! Live a little!"

Arianne laughs. "We'll be there."

"Good. Anyway, how did you three end up tied up with these Team Serpentine losers?"

Leo sighs. "Daniel suggested we spend some time at the library, and we were there when they went to steal the books."

"And Leo couldn't keep his mouth shut."

Brooke laughs. "Why am I not surprised? You three need to be careful though. Team Serpentine could be after you three. The librarian who Team Serpentine sedated while you were there had to be hospitalized. You need to be careful."

"We know." Arabella replied. "Marina sent Ricardo of the Rasun Elite Four to have a talk with us about that."

Brooke raised an eyebrow. "She did?"

Arabella nodded. "Yeah, she did."

"Okay. Then, I guess you don't need to hear it again from me. Let me know if you need anything before making it to Drizzleton City. Bye!"

"Bye!" Arabella, Leo, and Arianne all responded before Arabella ended the call.

Leo looked at the two girls who were his travelling companions. "Are we ready to head to Drizzleton City?"

Arianne nodded. "Absolutely. Let's get going now."

Marina looked at the green haired man standing next to her. "Thank you for accepting this role as an Elite Four member with very little notice, Reed. We had a member quit without any previous notice, and it's hard to find a replacement."

Reed looked at Marina with a smile. "It's my honor, Marina. I'm honestly surprised you wanted me."

"Reed, you are the person who has gotten the closest to defeating me in a Pokemon battle since I have been the Rasun Region Pokemon Champion. You were my first choice."

"I'm honored, Marina. I won't disappoint you."

"I don't think you could." Marina's Cross Transceiver starts to ring, and she answers it. "Hello?"

Brooke, who had called Marina, spoke. "Hey, Rina. This is not the way I wanted to talk to you again, but there have been reports of Team Serpentine sightings here in Drizzleton City. I thought you should know since you're investigating Team Serpentine."

"Thank you for letting me know, Brooke. I'll be in Drizzleton City as soon as I can."

"You don't need to come here, Rina. I'm the gym leader. I can handle it."

"I understand that, Brooke, but there seems to be a villainous organization running around the region that I'm the Champion of. I'm coming to Drizzleton City. I've dealt with Team Plasma before. I can deal with this too. I do believe you're capable, Brooke, but you've got other duties as well. You're still pretty new at this. Let me come to Drizzleton City to see what I can do. You have other duties, like keeping an eye on the kids who got tangled up with Team Serpentine in the Covolt City Library. They should be on their way to Drizzleton City to challenge you soon, Brooke."

"Yes, but, Rina, I…"

"I need to go, Brooke. I'll be on my way." Marina ended the call.

"Everything alright?" Reed asks.

"Uh…I have to head to Drizzleton City. It seems people have seen Team Serpentine there."

"Are you going to need help?"

"Yes, but I'll take Crystalline and Aria. You just got here, Reed. I want you to get adjusted to things here right now. Ricardo should be back from Covolt City pretty soon. He can help you get settled in. If anything like this happens again, you can come, but for now, stay here and get adjusted. Aria, start your plane! I'm going to need you and Crystalline to join me on a trip!"

"Where are we going, Rina?" Aria asks from another room.

"Drizzleton City. We've potentially got some of Team Serpentine to track down."

Arabella, Leo, and Arianne were heading down Route 2 when they noticed a small crowd gathered around. The three trainers tried to get a good look with failure when the crowd cleared a path for the man in the middle directly to them.

The man approached the three trainers and looked directly at Arabella. "Is that a mega bracelet I see? Wow, somebody must have a lot of trust in your battling abilities."

Arabella gets nervous from all the people staring at her. "Um…yes, this is a mega bracelet."

"I thought so. What is your name, girl?"

"Uh…my name is Arabella."

"Well, Arabella, my name is Jimmy. I've been keeping up a winning streak here on Route 2. I've been undefeated for ninety-nine battles straight. I've been looking for a worthy opponent for my one hundredth battle, and I believe that it should be you."

"I don't have any mega stones, just the mega bracelet."

"That's no matter. You've been entrusted with a mega bracelet, so you must be a really good trainer. How many Pokemon do you have?"

"I have two Pokemon."

"Alright then. We'll have a two on two battle then. I want it to be fair. Do you accept my challenge, Arabella?"

Arabella glanced at Leo and Arianne, who both nodded at her. "Okay. I accept your challenge, Jimmy. Is there anything in it for me if I win?"

Jimmy smiled at her. "I like you for asking that question, Arabella. Most trainers wouldn't ask that. I didn't have anything in mind, but how about if you manage to defeat me in battle, I'll give you 2500 Poké dollars to help you and your friends cover expenses through your journey?"

Jimmy stuck out his hand for Arabella to shake.

Arabella shook Jimmy's hand. "Deal."

Jimmy and Arabella each took a side on the makeshift battlefield. A blonde woman took the position to referee.

"Where are you from?" The referee asked Arabella.

"Nimbus Town." Arabella answered.

"Okay. This battle is between Jimmy of Covolt City and Arabella of Nimbus Town. The battle is over when two Pokemon on one side are unable to battle. Battle begin!" The referee announced.

Jimmy tossed a Poké Ball. "Lillipup, go!"

Arabella used her Pokedex.

Lillipup, the Puppy Pokemon. The long hair around its face provides an amazing radar that lets it sense subtle changes in its surroundings.

Arabella nodded before tossing Starly's Poké Ball. "Starly, let's go!"

"Lillipup, use Tackle!"

"Starly, dodge and use Quick Attack!"

Starly avoided Tackle and took Lillipup down with Quick Attack. Lillipup slowly stood back up.

"Lillipup, use Thunder Fang!"

"Starly, use Wing Attack!"

Starly avoids Thunder Fang from Lillipup and uses Wing Attack. Jimmy has Lillipup return to its Poké Ball.

Jimmy tosses a second Poké Ball. "Rockruff, go!"

Arabella used her Pokedex again.

Rockruff, the Puppy Pokemon. This Pokémon has lived with people since times long ago. It can sense when its Trainer is in the dumps and will stick close by its Trainer's side.

"Starly, use Quick Attack!"

"Rockruff, dodge it and use Tackle!"

Rockruff avoids Starly's Quick Attack and catches it with Tackle. Starly looks pretty weakened.

"Starly, use Quick Attack once more!"

"Rockruff, use Rock Throw!"

Rockruff throws a rock at Starly before Starly can use Quick Attack. Starly faints, and Arabella has it return to his Poké Ball.

Arabella tosses Bulbasaur's Poké Ball. "Bulbasaur, let's go and use Razor Leaf!"

"Rockruff, use Tackle!"

Rockruff tackles Bulbasaur, but still takes significant damage from Razor Leaf.

"Razor Leaf once again!"

"Rockruff, dodge and use Rock Throw!"

Rockruff throws a rock at Bulbasaur, but Bulbasaur avoids it. Rockruff fails to avoid Razor Leaf and faints.

"Rockruff is unable to battle, meaning the winner is Arabella of Nimbus Town." The referee declares.

Both Jimmy and Arabella have their Pokemon return to their Poké Balls.

Jimmy gets into his bag and hands money to Arabella. "Congratulations. You earned it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but you remind me of someone. That doesn't matter though. Whoever gave you that mega bracelet made the right decision.

Arabella accepts the money. "Thank you. Is there anywhere along this route where I can heal up my Pokemon?"

The blonde woman who had acted as the referee smiles at Arabella. "Actually, Jimmy and I run a Pokemon Daycare just a little further up the route. We can heal up the Pokemon there."

"Yeah, it's on us." Jimmy agrees. "Let us guide you and your friends there."

"Thank you." Arabella replies as Jimmy and the blonde woman lead her, Leo, and Arianne towards the daycare.

The five people arrive at the Pokemon Daycare. Arianne reads a sign that says Jessie and James's Pokemon Daycare.

"I forgot that Jimmy is short for James."

Leo whispers.

"Me too." Arianne replied.

"Thank you, Jimmy and…Jessie?" Arabella says.

"You're welcome." The blonde woman says as she leads them inside. "And yes, I'm Jessie."

"Okay," Arabella says as she hands Jimmy to put her Poké Balls in the healing machine. "Thank you so much."

"It is our pleasure." Jimmy replies.

"Jimmy, she is a pretty strong trainer already. You should give it to her." Jessie says.

"You're right, Jessie. Let me go get it." Jimmy leaves to grab something from another room.

"Give me what?" Arabella asks.

Jimmy returns with an egg that's in an incubator. "This Pokemon egg. We don't know how it appeared, but we found it. We have been trying to decide who to give it to, and you seem like a good option if you'll take it."

Arabella nods. "I'll take it. Do you know what's in it?"

Jessie shrugs. "We have no idea."

Jimmy hands Arabella the Egg and her Poké Balls back. "There you go. All healed up. Is that all you need?"

Arabella nods. "I think so. Do you need anything, Leo? Arianne?"

Leo shakes his head. "I'm good. Thank you though."

"I don't need anything either." Arianne agrees. "I appreciate the offer though."

Jessie nods. "Absolutely. Are you on your way to Drizzleton City now?"

"Yes, we are."

"Well, goodbye. Be careful."

Jimmy nods. "Be extra careful while on your way to Drizzleton City. There's supposedly been a spotting of some Team Serpentine folk."

"We will. Thanks again." Arabella replies as she, Leo, and Arianne exit the Pokemon Daycare and head towards Route 3.
